Jaye - I didn't say the place was bigger - just more rooms LOL
We still won't have a basement, or much more yard. We will have a bigger deck however - it's about the size of a 2 car garage roof, cuz that's what it is lol. Currently we have a 16' x 19' deck, and this is ever so much bigger. We'll lose the hot tub though. We apparently just got it fixed. There was a slow leak, and needed to fill about 2" every 3 days. Got a bottle of Leak Fix, which we put in the water and it "finds" the leak. Put it in 3 days ago, and no leak :-) Whichever tenant we get will be happy with the hot tub, I'm sure

Thanks again for the Jelly Roll, Jaye :-) Did I post the picture of the top? I think I did......

Linda Kay any news on Heather ?

Contacted the Child Support Bureau to get a court date for Rick's youngest daughter to be emancipated. Two years ago the mother requested for Rick to continue to pay child support as the daughter was special needs as her IQ was only 69 .She receives a SSI check for around $600 or $700 and then $550 a month from Rick .The court ruled in her favor ,even though the daughter graduated high school and is now in her 2nd year of college and will be 21 yrs old this year. So I am asking for Prayers that that the court rule in Rick's favor this time of her being emancipated !! Not sure when the court date will be ,but at least I've got the ball rolling ! And by the way the girls mother has never held a job in her entire life !! But does work under the table for cash money ....lies lies lies !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Heather was told she does not have viral minigitus. They are still doing all kinds of blood test, and she went in for an MRI about an hour ago. I imagine it will be tomorrow before she hears anything.

LK good to hear its not Viral meningitius. I sure do hope they find out what is going on with her. The stress of not knowing can be a long haul.
Synda sending prayers for you guys. Hope the court can get it together.
Well speaking of courts..... i was driving home from my visit at Tom's..... wasn't really paying attention to my speed..... welp i got nailed by the poo poo. Saw her on the side but it was to late...... she got me at 84 mph.... and it was right at the same exit as Cookie LOL. Same exit i got my last ticket...... uuhhhg. Darn that Luke Bryan ! his music just makes me wanna sing

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Glad that it isn't viral meningitis ,but pray that they figure out what it is !!!!

Hello Ladies!!!

WOW did not realize it has been 8 days since I last dropped in :) Just did odds and ends of things around the yard. Got the new pond set up for my black fish. Mom bought a new weed eater so I was "playing" with that LOL. The way our property sits, there is an easement that belongs to the people behind us. And there is a HUGE poison oak bush and the man will NOT get with in 10 ft of it. So I got some diesel fuel and drenched the sucker!!! Plus there is a lot of dry grass that he won't cut down. CA state law is that there is to be a 100 ft wide fire break around your property if there is a lot of brush/grass. There are 4 houses that are bordering his property, and he has never made a fire break. So he will be getting a visit from Cal Fire soon. Why should we keep doing his work for him??? Not anymore, he has two or three boys that can help him out.

I am so looking forward to this Sunday. I am meeting up with my two friends that helped me move and we are going to our favorite partying place Swabbie's on the River!!! I will get to see a lot of friends that I have not seen since last Aug. Then on May 15th & 16th we are going to Fort Bragg. I used to spend my summers with my grandparents there. it has been 38 yrs since I was last there. We will be celebrating my 60th a couple weeks early!! I am so excited for this trip!!!!

Saturday was not a good day for me, I got really depressed over my break up with Doug and I am missing Amy so much. But it's getting better because I am getting out and doing things with my friends. I just happen to have lots of money to spend now. Funny how that worked out, cuz we were always broke and never went anywhere. So yup he did me a favor, LOL

Funny how things work out for the best for us Cindy!

Well, the hospital released Heather this afternoon, the Dr.s said all test came back negative. They told her to continue to see her pain management Dr. Very upsetting for her to say the least!

Linda Kay I know it can be very aggravating to not get answers . Just watch her close and tell her to keep a diary ....I have doctored so much with no results .After a while you get so burnt out ! I seen an oncologist for almost a year because I have too many white blood cells and too many platelets .They even took bone marrow ,doctor thought for positive I had leukemia ,had a radioactive body scan .Everything came back clean except for the nodules on my thyroid ,which they knew about ????? Doctor even said that there is something wrong ,he just can't find it !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the info Synda, I will tell her.

I m sorry LK. This surely isn't easy for you all. Keeping you two in my thoughts and prayers.

Been weeding and weedeating. Hurt my arms, forced me to play on Facebook!! Lol.

I am anxious too that Heather gets a proper diagnosis as she can't go on being ill like this.
Perhaps keeping a journal would help as Synda suggested/
LK, my sister Carolyn has thyroid issues, and so many of her 'illnesses' are linked to that.
You are a welcomed and willing babysitter for Dylan, but I am sure Heather rather be home and healthy than chasing answers. Poor girl.

Sue Taynor!!! You got a lead foot!!! Lolol.. what's the speed limit if you're approaching the exit? That's money you can spend on wine!

Cindy, I hope it will be a great reunion for you. As you said, at least you have friends and able to do things to keep your mind off Doug.
Now you're able to keep the money for yourself!

Yes Susan, I saw the baby quilt. Have you found helpers yet? This is the time that a few church members can come to your rescue.

Clematis Franziska Maria cuttings in my favorite cup.. wonder who gave me that?
Lolol.. anyway, it is originally a deep purple, but had turned to lilac due to neglect. I can't feed the soil last year..

Hello Ladies,

This day is always sad for me :( 10 yrs ago I lost my husband. Then on the 26th it would of been our 18th Wedding Anniversary. April is always a hard month for me. On top of that my mom's bowling leagues end and we are figuring out monies ugh!! It gets stressful because my mom stays up until wee hours of the morning and wears herself out. Makes me so mad!!! She's so stubborn!!! We were supposed to go shopping today but she was to tired. I had to get up to let Harlee out potty last night and there she is on the computer and it's after midnight! I told her to go to bed because we had to get up early!! LOL

I got a new laptop with Windows 8. Too tired to play around with it but it's different for sure.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

(((((((((Cindy))))))) Gentle hugs, and certainly some prayers for you - yes, April would be tough.....

Don't know when we move - first we have to find a tenant for This place. Earliest move would be end of June.
Well, back to work on clearing out cupboards and closets.....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We have a new laptop also, Windows 8 is a royal pain. I've heard that it's so disliked that HP is saying that when Windows 10 comes out, anyone who has 8 can have 10 for free.

good morning
Jaye i hope your feeling good today
I have a mac so i can't be of any help on computers. I have no idea what Windows 8 is ? but the people who i know who have it are not happy with it.
Cindy April is almost over. This month sure has dragged on though. It seems like it should be May already ? and its only the 23rd :( Sending hugs to you Cindy.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Cindy I knew it was around that time of year ,you and Francis kept crossing my mind ,I love you girl and wish I was closer to give you hugs and help you through these days !

Sue I thought it would be me getting a speeding ticket ......

I have had windows 8 for over a year and still don't know how to completely navigate it :( .

We had snow flurries last night and possibly today .Unreal Rick mowed the grass Sunday and now the furnace has ran for 2 days and the white stuff floating out of the sky .........

Had our water tested last week (we have well water ),we knew it was very hard and had iron .Well the guy at the water place said a system for us would be $1689 plus tax = $1803 .That includes installation and 250lbs of salt .......I talked to him day before yesterday and told him I have $1400 .If I pay cash could I get a discount ....LOL .Never dreaming he'd go for it .Well he call this morning and said "he talked to the boss" ,(I think he is the boss) and said that I could get it for $12something and with tax it comes to a few dollars shy of $1400 .....LOL . Really ,I know they are still making money ,but that much of a mark up .But he is going to be here tomorrow to install it . I am so excited !!!!!! No more dingy clothes ,my hair will be soft again ,our coffee pots may last longer than a year ,no more orange tub/shower and toilet !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have heard nothing but complaints about windows 8! I hope yours has all the bugs fixed.

Well, Dylan went home with Mamma and daddy yesterday, but while Andy was here, helped me plant all my cannas in the big raised bed, then put the red mulch down for me! All I have to do is put all the garden art back in place, then clean up the front of it, and it is done.

Oh Synda, that will be nice. We have hard water here, from the city. When we had the flood back in 98, we never trusted the city water, so we have bought gallons jugs of water since for drinking and coffee. The only time we use tap water is for the shower and cooking.

Cindy, I too wish we were closer at times like these. Always hard to get through those days.

My Moms Birthday is tomorrow. It is hard to believe she has been gone almost 9 years, and I still miss her dearly.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Synda, we've had a well for 30 years and also a softener for that time. Ask specifically about the rust because we use extra filters too and still the danged rust gets through. The softener company came out 3 years ago and rebuilt the entire system and we still get rust. At my wits end with it. We do extra rust clearing treatments from time to time and it helps but doesn't stop it. It does make my hair nice and the ice maker & coffee pot lasts longer but the rust goes on. If they tell you it will stop the rust...get it in writing.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Karen our rust isn't real bad in my book .......after scrubbing the tub/shower .It takes about a month to get real bad .Our white clothes don't get orange ,just not that sparkling white that I like .Looks like I have no idea what bleach is .......LOL ,just dingy .I don't know what this means ,but he said our water has :
14 grains of hardness
3 ppm of iron
and the ph is good at 7.0
all foreign language to me !!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

LK - happy Birthday to your Mom!!

It's my son's birthday today :-) He's 36!!! When did we get to be so so old?

"3 parts per........what?"

I don't understand that info either

This message was edited Apr 23, 2015 7:12 AM

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

ppm, parts per million

Thanks for the Birthday wishes!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

3ppm on iron isn't bad at all. Ours is kind of hit or miss, sometimes the shower will be OK for a week nor two and then it will get bad right away again. Walmart carries a product called Works which is really good for cleaning up the rust and calcium. Has a strong odor though so I can't use it makes me choke. One of the guys needs to handle it.
I love white towels but mine don't look so great any more. They will be discarded if we ever get to move.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I have hard water too, what a mess it leaves in the toilet. I have a filter on my drinking water and I drink a lot of bottled water. Would have loved to have a water softener, but that wasn't in the cards for me either.

I've been waiting for rain for the last 2 days, but nothing yet. I know some are getting rain, but it isn't here. We went to Lowe's yesterday and I found a "Pink Breath of Heaven" shrub for $1, hope it doesn't die on me. Also got some chicken poop for garden area. My nephew called manure (manuger) and that is a better name. He has been gone 13 years and he was so young, only 33.

City is offering a grant, rebate or loan to homeowners for repairs on their homes. So many people came to the meeting at the senior center and got an application. The grant is $8,000 and I know I would qualify and never have to pay it back. I worried about my hot water heater going out so guess that is where we have to start. Once I get all the information they need I'm on a waiting list. Just trying to find decent contractors is such a big headache. I had 2 bad ones and who needs another. I think the city should find a good one for us.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes we use the Works all the time ! Dollar General carries it here .Yes it is Very strong in fumes/odor ,I will have the bathroom window open with a window fan blowing out and the exhaust fan running and still choke (I make Rick do it most of the time)!! Karen try putting the stuff called " Iron Out " in a load of white occasionally ,you CAN'T use bleach at the same time ,but it will brighten your whites .

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hello sisters.. reading all these side effects of hard water. Had that in Louisiana, not here.
Yes we are on well water, but we're blessed as the water is soft and sweet.
Never had to add any additives, and no rust stains.

Been weeding again, and this time fighting with tall rushes.
Got rid of wild maples that sprout so easily!!! Think I had hauled about 30 trees!

Kel's mother offered to send her gardener to do the acreage and pay for it.
I told her I cannot accept it, as she's a widower and on fixed income and how long will that insurance money last? Have to think this way as my church helps out the widows and widowers and stress to take something from them is to rob them.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, it was earth day, you are supposed to be planting trees!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lololol.... okay.. I will leave TWO maple trees alone!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Pegi before we moved to this house (it was my mom's ,dad never finished it and asswipe brother tore it up when he lived here) we applied for a Grant that they have around here and got it (our income then was well below what they asked for) .It's was called CHIP - Community Housing Improvement Program . They came in and totally redid everything in the interior .Wiring, copper plumbing (except no water softener ..LOL),walls ,floors etc and they found the contractor ......... $43,000 and the only stipulation was we had to live here 20 years .Well it's been 10 and we have no intentions of going anywhere !

Pray you get it ,these grant programs are wonderful !!

It's Earth Day, AND my son's birthday - he's 36 - and the Earth is much older.......... lol

I went out and cleared leaves from our berm, then watered my Waterton Mock Orange, my rose bushes, and my honeysuckle........ so I guess I'm looking after trees, shrubs and bushes for Earth Day! lol

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

it's raining here today, so no earth day activities

I thought so........ I didn't think it was the same day as my son's birthday lol

I couldn't call my son, as his phone was acting up - "the customer you are calling cannot receive your call"......... he was on FB with his phone, and we were chatting, but he was on his boat and the reception goes in and out.
