lol on your "nasty wee son" - that's what I used to call mine!! or, just "nasty wee Thing" for anyone else lol
Ouch on the mammogram/sonogram..... Glad everything else is working ok, except for that hernia!!

Ernie wow on the new eating plan. I can live without pineapple. but blueberries ??? . I use to grow lots of tomato's also. Not anymore. :( no water set up out in our feild where it was located. I got tired of fighting the deer and other animals eating my bounty too. I gave up.
Susan LOL to funny on the red wine hehehehe
Lk have fun on your trip. safe travels

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

So sorry about the house Susan .

Ernie are there foods you are allowed to eat to help build up your red blood cells or maybe supplements ? http://www.md-health.com/How-To-Increase-Red-Blood-Cells.html

Pegi when I was 18 I had a severe Hiatal Hernia .They did surgery to repair it. Back then there was nothing like laparoscopic surgeries ,so I have a scar that goes from under my left arm around my shoulder blade and up my back .I was in the hosp for 5 weeks 2 of which was in intensive care unit. And the Dr told me then that I was so young that it would probably come back ,which it has !

I would love to have a veggie garden again ,but can't physically do it anymore :( .

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Re-thinking - we MAY be able to do it.... Bob gets an increase in his pension this month! Apparently it's quite a bit more

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hello sisters.

More space for your increasing crafts, Susan. May you be able to rent that house.

Oh brother Ernie, if I can't eat all those you had mentioned.. might as well put me on a soy diet!! Now that I can do.. tofu.. tempeh.. soybean juice.. soy cheese...
I don't actually need rice, but maybe some tabouleh for grains.
If it's to rebuild your red corpuscles, then do so, brother Ernie. You'd think of great recipes with what you're allowed to eat.
And I agree with Susan and Sue.. a wine diet will be good too!!! Those Mediterraneans always drink red wine and that's encouraged to fortify your blood.
One cup of coffee won't do for me. Watch me turn into a raving lunatic!!

Pegi, perhaps you could trade your home cooking for son's grown veges?? Then you could ask him to grow the ones you'd love to have.
Good to read that both your grams turned out fine. Let me know if you'd likke for me to send you a couple of People's books.

LK, enjoy yourself and think of rose cuttings!!!

Sis Kathy, are your clematis blooming yet? I have two that are putting out dinner plate sizes. Amazing.. too weedy to take pictures, and yes, I have lost a couple too. Guilty of neglect.
Will you have a vege garden too?
Sis Carolyn can her peaches and used them to cook brisket with. Only with the home canned peaches.

Oh well Synda, you and I just have to get our veges the regular way.. via stores!

Karen, hope the weather's not too bad for your road trips.

Barb, I am gathering batiks to do a baby boy quilt for an Indonesian friend.
Somehow, I'm stuck on a simple design. BUT I know what thread to use already!! Lolol!! Variegated of course, and serpentine stitches for the top, just like the one we did for Sue!!

Here's my conundrum.. or discovery. Nothing bad..
For a while, I have been waiting on the Lord, and praying of course.
I cannot go this far without the support of my sisters here.
On Sunday, the preacher did two parts sermons. In every pew, we are all aware that there's a broken heart, and his message somehow lifted me up.
Following and waiting on the Lord isn't easy. He commended the ones that waited on the Lord, and "turned the other cheek" when one's been slapped by evil. Of course, unless serious physical threat or bodily harm, then one need to defend oneself. He's referring to cases similar to mine.
I'm beginning to understand that the ones that waited on God, and don't retaliate, aren't doormats, but have proven immense faith Jesus will do something.
What surprised me was when the preacher expounded that the abused are ALREADY taken care of by the Lord. It's the abuser that our Lord would be working on for Jesus is mightier than the devil and it's Jesus' natural nature to trump the devil.
It is so comforting to absorb this.
Just a matter of time, His time, that all shall come together for the good.

Jaye - your preacher is right, and it's so interesting how sermons so often touch on things in our lives, like they're preaching right TO us and those with us in the situation......

Here's the baby blanket I did for a Filipino friend of mine

and I've just used the green Jelly Roll you sent me, to do another baby quilt - boy, we're a-quilting for babies, aren't we? Isn't it wonderful?
I'll post the picture later

Very nice Susan!!! A simple log cabin or a churn dash pattern makes great quilts for boys...
Check out Quilterscache.com on line for some super patterns Jaye

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

This is the baby quilt top I just finished last night, for Marshall.
I have some Extremely fuzzy backing for it lol
It's going to be an easy one to do - too bad I don't have the stuff to fuse the edges, but it will be fun!!

Synda, I didn't think people got hiatal hernias so young. That must have been a scary operation. My son just found out he has one and the papers they sent home with him said not to have any surgery unless all other solutions fail. I haven't had any problems so far with it and hope I never do.

Pretty baby quilt Susan, you sure are on a roll.

Jaye, my son does his own cooking and he does pretty good. He goes out to the garage so he can smoke and has a hot plate out there and a small fridge so he is content staying out there most of the day. He put 2 cornish game hens in the crock pot yesterday and they turned out really good. At least I know he is around if I need him. Just wish he would get most of his junk off the patio, I need it for my plants. Have 2 friendly little hummers around too, loves the neighbor's large bush and my feeder is handing right by it. BTW you don't have to send me any people's books as the library has a large selection of them. Waiting to go and pick up the 8th Outlander book. They will hold it for 2 weeks for me.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yeah, and now
omg omg omg - we are moving!!
have to throw stuff out, pack stuff and make this place viewable for a potential renter!!
Not going to be online much...........
new place vacant in 2 weeks...... we have a flexible move-in/out, but the potential renter wants to move asap........ Well, just heard she needs to give 1 month's notice, so we have until the middle to end of May

Back to work - putting away the Floor Loom (Bob will take it down......)
Cya peeps later

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Hiphip Hooray for Susan and Bob !!!! I am so very happy for you both !!!

Pegi the specialist I seen was an older man and he said he had NEVER in his career seen someone so young have a hiatal hernia and had NEVER seen one so bad !! He was the one that said it most likely would come back because of my age .That it is mainly women in the 50's and 60's and up that get one .At that point in my life my own saliva made me sick and eating something like an apple caused so much pain I could not even breath ,felt like a heart attack .I was in the hosp for 2 weeks for testing alone ,had surgery ( they said that it is the same procedure as lung surgery, cut open the side ,spread the ribs ,take out the heart and lung and fix the hernia) 2 weeks in intensive care ,and the a week on the post op floor .
When it has come to physical things my body just doesn't seem to like life ......LOL
When I was born I weighed 8lbs 2oz ,but was in the nicu in an incubator for 2 weeks fed intravenously because I could not eat .I would turn grey every time I was fed .When I was 11 I had my tonsils out and then hemorrhaged a week after .Was in the hosp for over 2 weeks because of blood loss. Then at 18 the hernia episode .When I was 27 found out my disc in my lower back were deteriorating ,and are now gone .At 32 had to have a hysterectomy because of tumors .At 43 had my gallbladder out ,not because I had stones .The gallbladder just stopped working .Being diagnosed in my 40's with the fibro .At 50 having a lump in my breast (non-cancerous ,yet) so having that surgery because I was so overly endowed and had 2 cousins die from breast cancer. And in between 18 and 40's having the mumps ,mono ,epstein barr virus .
Need to go have another echocardiogram done (haven't had one since 2001) but half ass afraid to . But really need to with mom having hypertrophic cardiomyopathy ,my eldest son ,uncle ,cousin and mom dying from it and Ryan having the beginnings of it .I have another aunt that they are watching closely because she has it and a cousin that is younger than me showing the signs of it.
And need to see an ortho Dr because my pelvis is spiralling .......... Am I a walking mess or what !!!!!

Synda - listening to all those things that are "wrong" with you, it makes me think that it was a miracle that you survived babyhood! The Lord had a reason for keeping you around, broken "bits" and all. Thank GOD that you're here, and able to talk about all these things that "break" on you.
It's such a pain to have these things happen, I'm sure..... ((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))) Synda!!!

btw - I may have a "LOOM Room" when we move lol Already had my neighbour drool over the LOOM - told her it isn't for sale lol
And I phoned my LOOM friend, Marlene, and told her about the move and the fact that the LOOM will go with me :-)
I'm not sure if Bob & I will have a "computer / den", for both of us, or if I'll have the larger of the 2 bedrooms which would be a Susan's Computer & Sewing room, while Bob has his own "Man Cave" (on the main floor - a cave......... lol) OR, if the LOOM would have it's own room, with the Warping Mill lol So many decisions.
There are, as I said, 3 bedrooms - one is the Master (Queen bed), one is slightly smaller (Queen bed), and the 3rd is smaller yet - a kid's size bedroom.
On the other side of the wall from the Kitchen is what I would call the Dining room - it's not separated from the Living Room, but for one long room it's like it's naturally divided in half from the Living Room. Heck - that could be the Dining Room when we have company, and from January to October it may be my LOOM room - who knows - we'll have to figure that all out when we see it empty........ I know that the current renters have a lot of Big furniture and it's a little crowded - I mean really - 2 couches and a love seat?
They're all young people (early to mid 20's) and apparently like to party....... it looks like a dorm room lol We'll soon fix that!! I have to find a place for my piano, too!!!!
Yup, that's me in a nutshell (just a nut, actually) - I sew, knit, quilt, weave, and play piano - and most of it takes up a lot of room LOL

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Thank You Susan ,I just look at it as part of life ........what doesn't kill you ,makes you stronger !

Susan that all sounds glorious ! can't wait to see pictures ! You have so many talents ,God has blessed you !

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

now, if I can only pull out my talent to recruit people to help us move.......
Piano and all lol

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

If we were closer Rick would help ! I can't even begin to tell you how many people he has helped move ! He has his flaws simply by being of the male gender ...(sorry Ernie) but overall he is really one of the good ones !!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hahahaha sorry that I'm laughing too, Ernie, but Synda - I know Just what you mean. I'm married to one of the good ones, too....... but he IS from Mars..........

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Things are buzzing around Everett 60 some odd miles to the south. Last night a semi overturned and set 40 million bees loose. They are trying to recapture some of them good luck. I would guess the lions share of them will die. Bees are extremely bright but they need food and shelter this time of the year. They need their queen to tell them what to do

Ernie I seen that on FB on a news flash on my feed ........ http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/rolled-semi-spills-load-of-bees-at-the-i-5-and-i-405-interchange/

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Oh Synda, you are a walking miracle as far as I'm concerned. You will always be in my prayers. Thank God for helpings from above.

Susan, I am so happy for you now that you can finally make that move to a nice big place where you have room for all you crafts. Hope all you friends pitch in to help move the bigger pieces of furniture for you, piano, etc. I imagine moving a piano takes a lot of man power.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, piano would take 2 experience piano movers
Did I say it was big? no, it's not - a bit bigger than what we have, but no attic, upper floor, or basement (that's a suite, where the other renters live......).
It's a house, with a big deck (bigger than our 16x19' deck now) but the trellis fencing is really bad, and offers no privacy, so that's going to have to change......
It does have more rooms than we currently enjoy, so that's good :-)

Susan wow congrats on the move and good luck with all the packing.A new adventure awaits you.
Yikes on the bee's !
Synda glad your here with us :) You have been through so much in life health wise.
you will never believe what happened to us yesterday !
Tom and i went to dump out my Kubota RTV. It has a little dump bed. It was full of boxes and debri from cuttings from the garden. been left in there for weeks..
So yesterday Tom and i went to go dump it. As it was lifting. A raccoon jumps out !!! scares the nuts and bolts off of us. She left us 4 tiny baby raccoons. .... uhg...... hate this.......
yes they are adorable and cute.....
we put them in a dog kennel and left them for her to come back.... well this morning they are still in the kennel. Poor things :( i feel awful. We are letting nature take its course. Not an easy task to do and breaks my heart.....
They carry parasites, and the poop of a raccoon can be very toxic and also carry disease ect.... i can't risk this for my family and our dog.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Funny you mentioned the raccoons, Sue, the other night my son took his camera out of his pocket and showed me a picture of a possum eating dry kitty food he had sitting out. He said he opened the garage door and quick took a picture. DON'T leave the kitty food out at night. I sure don't want a "gang" of them coming around at night. Baby critters are so cute.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, congrats on the move to a new home for you! Sounds like it will have plenty of room!

We are back from Austin, we had a great time, looking at all the hotrods, I went fabric shopping, as well as plant shopping. But the plants stayed in Austin. They wanted $40.00 for a hibiscus or rose plant, and $80.00 for a passion flower plant. These were all about a foot tall.

LOL yes Pegi they do love cat food. The little ones i suspect won't make it without mama.
Busy day
4 H meeting
grocery
worked out in the garden all morning. Then it started to rain.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Terrible price for those LK. I would have left them there too...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue, those babies might have a better chance of getting back with momma if you let them loose?

Lk they didn't even have there eyes open yet. They were maybe 5 days old ? . We thought the kennel would protect them from rain and wind. It was pretty hot out too , didn't want them to fry in the sun. But yes you may have been right. We should have left them in the kubota but we needed the dump truck :( as we were hauling stuff that day.
also i was thinking about coyotes and stray dogs getting them.

good morning
hope you all have a great day.
cool and rainy with gusty winds for us today.
i may just go back to bed. LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Asking for prayers for my DIL Heather. She is in the hospital, they think she has viral meningitis. They did a lumbar something this morning, where they took some fluids to test. They should know for sure soon. In the meantime, I am babysitting Dylan for a few days.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Sending Prayers for Heather !!!! Linda Kay this is terrible ,can any of the rest of you catch it ...

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Sending prayers for Heather too. I hope she doesn't have viral meningitis. I know you will keep us posted.

I should never let plants get root bound in a large pot. I'm trying to separate them, have to cut roots and hope I don't kill the plants. I didn't realize they would multiply when neighbor game it to me.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes5, I will keep you all posted.

Pegi, the plants should be ok.

sending prayers for Heather and you LK.
just a day inside. Nothing much going on. Going to see Tom tomorrow in Cincy.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers for Heather and all of you LK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Thanks for all the prayers!

I hope you all are doing well, and your weather is warming up for you!

Jaye where are you?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Cold and rain today. Rain every day this week.... Tiime to snuggle in with a good book....

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

warm here today. picked a stray dog up sunday, waiting to get him back from the vet

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - Prayers for Heather, and all the family

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Barb, i agree with the reading. Not much you can do when it is raining.

Kathy, what kind of dog? Sounds like you are givinv him a forever home.

Thanks Susan.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I am here.
Hard to come by and put in some honest words without sounding depressed and I so don't want to bring every body down or clear the room.

Susan, ha!! There's a reason I sent you that jelly roll!! Been years and still look 'fresh' and perfectly designed for a baby boy.
So happy that you'd be in a bigger abode, and think of this.. more rooms for more stuffs!!

Barb, thanks for the tip. I had gathered some batiks, along with a batik jelly roll, and I think I'll do a simple log cabin. Was thinking of a braid pattern, but that will take some time.
Now a matter of pushing these don't wants and order my sewing machine to start on its own!!

You have such a magnanimous heart Sis Kathy. You and I, hopefully, Lord will make us in charge of dogs in heaven!!
Won't that be neat?

Synda, I can't imagine the anguish your mother went through with your physical ailments. As the saying goes, God doesn't give you anything you can't handle, but .. but.. as a child, you must have had moments when you cannot vocalize the pain and anxieties you felt.
But He is good, and here you are with us.

Sue, I won't know what to do with baby raccoons!! Except to trap them and bring them to the wildlife folks.
I have had two raccoons that lived peacefully alongside the cats. Unfortunately they must be both males as I don't see any offsprings!

Pegi,.. Texas Angel.. I have quite a few spiritual books downloaded on my Kindle that I'm using the audio feature whenever I can't read! Lol.. getting spoilt.
There are a bunch of free fictions, and I downloaded one mystery. That can wait!
AS Pegi said, need to feel a real book now and then.. and that's when LK's bible comes in on Sunday mornings!

Lots of bees this year around here brother Ernie. And wasps too.
Yes bees are very resourceful and territorial. Surprised me when I watched a bee chasing a wasp off thrice its' size!!

LK, my prayers along with the others for Heather.
Poor girl, perhaps you could ask her to start taking supplements that will boost her immune system.

Cindy, I hope you are taking breaks from your project!

Karen.. waving here.

Warm today, and for the rains have stopped! Weedeat to make a path to my clematis.
Two of them have been taken over by wild blackberries.
