TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Brother Ernie, too bad about your resident hummer, yes you're fortunate to see that. I'll take any kind of hummer here, even a 'lost' one!

Had corned beef, cabbage and potatoes yesterday done but can only enjoy the veges.
Whole mouth was sore, and had to leave off the partial for the day.
Though the day was beautiful, didn't do much outside, read and interact with family on FB as once again, many of them did the annual 'pilgrimage' to Thailand.
How fortunate they are.

Today will be a supposedly cool day, nothing planned as he took my truck being his is having issues with one tire rubbing against wheel well. I think it's also his vanity that's pricked.. remember the driver door that he messed up? It's still not replaced and he sure doesn't look Mr. Cool!
The funny part is, he bought one, but God again intervened.. the pins DON'T fit!! Lolol. I know.. I can sit back now and watch karma unfold.

Since he's at school the whole afternoon, not being able to be the first to pick up the mail, I've been getting my mail though they be junk mail!!
So, if anyone needs my new addy.. please dmail me.

Have a good day everyone

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kama sure has a funny way of doing things!

Jaye, I hope your mouth is healing quickly. Maybe sip on ice water to help with the swelling?

Well, I am getting ready to go San Antonio this afternoon for my 2nd set of injections tomorrow morning. I pray this one works 100% and longer than 1 week.

Dylans Birthday party last week end, he will be 3 tomorrow. He loves the teenage turtles!

Yikes, some necessary pain to relieve major pain.. poor you LK. But, take a detour after the shots.. do some fabric shopping!!

Can't believe your little man is already 3. He's the cutest Ninja turtle for sure! He's on his way to full recovery I hope.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, fabric shopping is on the list! If I can't find the brown fabrics I am looking for, I will have to change my mind on colors, and pick something else. Maybe blues?
Dylan is back to himself, being a stinker.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Wow, LK - 3 years old already? Where did the time go.......

Ernie - I guess I didn't realize what it was you were saying about the hummer....... bad Andy!! Hummers are territorial (as I guess most birds are) so I don't suppose another one would come by for a couple years, until it's confirmed by hummers that the previous "tenants" are gone and a new generation sees your place as home. Hopefully that will be soon :-)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

They are very territorial, but as soon as they know one is gone, another will fill in quickly!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad to hear that - guess they have a "hummer pipeline" lol "hey buddies - there's a vacancy at Ernie's place - grab it quickly - cheep rent, and the food's great!!"

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I have 4 or 5 hummers that hang out here. They let me know when they arrive by buzzing me when I go out, then I know to hang feeders. They are very competitive, I have to hang feeders on different sides of the house in order to give all a chance. Mine won't show up until mid May or so.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

just flying threw. nikki dug her way out of the pasture, and decided to walk down the driveway to the road. my daughter and I chased her for 20 minutes, just going in circles. so between the gym and chasing her, I had quite the work out.
my new vacuum decided today that it wasn't picking up any more dog hair. waiting for Michael to come home Friday and look at it, before I jump the gun and buy a new one.
just got a manicure, and eyebrow wax.
got church tonite
went grocery shopping, spent 200 dollars on nothing.
gotta finish sweeping the carpets
I am exhausted.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Susan's flight has JUST left - 2 hours late! Good thing she has 2 1/2 hours (now 1/2 hour) in Denver. I'm sure she was having "kittens" having the time to leave further and further and further along.... started with 40 min, then 1 hour, now 2 hours, and it's finally left.
Supposed to arrive in Denver at 4:58pm and connection to Atlanta leaves Denver at 5:31pm......

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

It cooled down some and hope it stays that way. I had my trash barrel on the patio so it is handy to throw junk in. Cleaning off a small white table I got at the thrift store years ago, wow first time I've seen the top in years. DH had drilled a large hole in the middle to put an umbrella in. The umbrella bit the dust a couple years ago, but I have a very pretty one in the shed that will come out this year for sure.

Corn beef, potatoes, carrots, onions and cabbage very good. I think I could eat on that corn beef all day, just perfect. Now I have a large bowl full of taters & veggies and a nice hunk of corn beef in another container to slice for sandwiches. Went overboard on the veggies, but they will get eaten. No cooking for a few days. I think I'll add sour kraut to my corn beef sandwich. That would be the German side of me.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Susan's still at Calgary airport - at the gate. Waiting to see if they have parts to fix the United Airlines plane. IF they do, it will take 45 min to fix
Her Denver connection is leaving right now.
So, the way I see it is - they'll get her to Denver and have to put her up in a hotel (not in Calgary, where she actually KNOWS someone, of course).
We're just waiting - told her to find someone who can charge her phone.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

They've cancelled Susan's flight, and we're going to pick her up. Don't know when the next flight is, but she'll stay here overnight.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness Kathy, sounds like you got a good work out.

Susan, sorry to hear Susans flight got canceled, but at least you get one more night with her.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

it's now 8:22pm, spoke to United, and they have her on a flight at 6:45am, which means she's to be at the airport at 5:45am, and with 2 hour time change (they're later, in the east of course), will stopover in Houston for an hour and arrive in Atlanta at 4:04pm...........
She is not impressed - has to miss 1 day's work, and also is not a morning person.........
I really sympathize with her..........

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning all.
Glad you landed here for a bit, Sis Kathy! Me have no eyebrows left to wax!
So, how much have you lost since the last weigh in?

Susan, the minute you hung up.. I rushed to get the mail and a few minutes later, Kel drove up. He was too early, guess he wanted to check on me.

Pegi, the cabbages I turned them into soup, by adding chicken stock. No German in me, but I do love the red sauerkraut.

Here, I see only ONE hummer at a time. So I am not aware of them being territorial. Guess the way I fix their food isn't the right way, Karen!

Did go to church last night, though they had a committee meeting, I stayed for just the devotional.
Message was good, don't allow distractions from prayers!! Lolol.. guilty of that sometimes. Before I can finish thanking God.. my mind will drift to something unworthy!

A cold day today, temps dropped again.
Hope everyone have a fantastic Thursday.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

so Jaye - you didn't get the mail?

My friend Susan's plane took off on time this morning, - 6:45am, and has just landed at Houston. Her connection leaves in 1 1/2 hours and will arrive in Atlanda at 4:04pm
I know that we're both tired, having stayed up all night - didn't want to miss the plane........
Drove her to the airport, then realized she still had the keys to the motorhome, so Bob drove me to the airport and I got the keys from the ticket agent and I got them. Motorhome
When I got home, I went right to sleep. Still tired.... will wait until she's on her connection to get back to sleep

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hummer food is easy. I always boil the water just for safety sake. Bring 1 cup water to a boil, turn off heat and add 1/4 cup sugar. Stir until totally dissolved, let cool. Wash feeder thoroughly and fill. I only make 1 cup at a time as it is only good for a few days. If you see any cloudyness, discard.
I bought the water ant traps and they work great to keep ants out. Bees are another matter.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Susan's plane has landed, and her connection is on time.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Karen, so I have to check on the food after a few days? Ok.. learning.. learning.. and think the cats scare them away even though they can't get to the feeder.

I got the mail, in time Susan. Rest girl, what an adventure you had with her.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

If the feeders hang where the cats can't jump to it will be OK. Hummingbirds are very wary and very fast. About all they are frightened off by is wasps.

My mom had a feeder hanging right over where the guys were building a deck and they still came to feed several times a day even with all the sawing and hammering.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I will have to find a new location Karen.. just found some wasps hovering where I normally hung the feeder.
My prayers now will include visits from ANY hummingbirds!! One year, there was one just standing still in flight, below a rainbow's arc, formed by sprinkling water. THat was a beautiful sight, and I didn't have the camera. Its green body shimmered like an emerald.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good day!! Just woke up, and spoke to Susan - she's in Atlanta airport - looking for her luggage. Phew, it's about time!!!!
Because her son works for the same company, he was able to let them know of her circomstances and why she wasn't into work today.........
Quite the adventure she's had this past week or so!!!

Susan glad her trip went well and you guys had fun.
We have lots of hummers here at our house. They love the hosta flowers.
not much going on here
Tom is hear with me all weekend. He will take me to CheeseCake Factory for the anniversary of Jessica's death. Our tradition.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I think we have a Cheesecake factory here, or maybe I just heard about it on The Big Bang Theory lol

morning everyone.
Tom is off to work. noon to 11 pm today . wow that is a long day. They don't give him breaks much either .... if he gets 10 min he is lucky. His boss is a jerk.
Not much going on here. got some rain
lost my ladder... ? how does a person loose a ladder ?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue, what work is Tom in that he has to work long hours? Hubby lost a ladder a few years ago, and after he finally bought a new one, the neighbor brought ours back. He forgot he loaned it out!

I am back from San Antonio, and I feel pretty good, lets just pray it stays this way. go back in one month for a follow up.
I did get the results from my hip MRI, it shows that I have a large piece of cartilage missing from the front section of my hip, that is why I am hurting so much, and my arthritis Dr. says there isn't much they can do about it. If it gets really bad, it means hip replacement.

I am glad to hear that Susan made it home OK!

Lk sorry to hear about the hip cartiledge missing ? Did they say how that happens ? HOping the shots help you. Sending healing energy to you.
Tom works in a restaurant. today is a double shift. and sunday . 11 am to 11 pm.
Tim called and he may not make it this weekend. Oh well. we didn't have much planned.
Austin will be at his friends and Savannah can hang out with Tom and I LOL . she will love it !!!!! bwhahaha.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just normal wear and tear the Dr. said.

Oh the joys of getting old!!!

Sorry to hear he has to work!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hello Ladies!!!

Been busy last couple of days. I'm in Marysville, took Doug for eye exam and to look at a mobile home to buy. He got a notice that come Jan the new owner will not renew his lease. They are still trying to sell the house even though the owner told us he changed his mind, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Big messy story there. So I had seen this mobile that I really like, but after doing a walk through ugh it is just to old and needs a lot of TLC Has a hot tub, nice side yard and a nice back yard that is divided in half, one part is raised garden beds. It would of been so perfect for us if it wasn't 35 yrs old :( Then Doug tells me he really doesn't want to live in a mobile home park. I told him that I was just looking for something that he could afford by himself, and not have a lot of yard work to do. He still wants to buy this house, but just can't get it through his head they are not going to sell to us for some reason. The guy that is dealing with the house now told Doug he would give him $$$ for moving expenses, he knows that Doug is disabled. So if Doug moves out within the next month or so he will give him $3000 but if he stays until rental lease expires he won't. He's being very stubborn right now about all this, so I'm not going to stress myself out, I already have a place to live :) So on that note I've been digging up my plants. I know it's not a good thing to do right now but it's still cool weather so they should be fine. I'm taking them straight to my daughter's and in her flower garden they go~~~~~~~~~~~ The whole back of my 4runner is full of pots fill with lilies of all colors, Texas Red Star Hibiscus, Coneflower, Pink Octopus, and Dahlias. Tomorrow is going to be a fun day, lol

Yes LK, you're right it sucks to get old :( I used to be able to work outside for 7-8 hrs now I'm lucky to make it to 3 hrs, without my lower back hurting. And if I get down on the ground, Oh Lord help get back up, lol.

I don't boil my hummers water, I just pou some in the feeder add warm water and shake until sugar is dissolved, they love it like that it's gone in 2 days and I only have 3 hummers, lol. Doug's mom gave me a box of the pre mixed nectar, they won't even touch it!! Haven't seen any hummers at mom's yet.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

My "Mrs. Olsen" is at it again. Well, my son leaves a mess like his dad did, and did have a lot of junk from the garage just sitting out. I guess he feels rules are to be broken and one of these days I'm going to blow my stack. LOL Well, the Dodge van has been sitting for over 8 months now, and I guess she isn't happy about it. Got a notice from the safety department to do something with the van since it is non-operable. I wish she would mind her own business. Driveway is cleaned now, put the van on the lawn and washed it and will park it right back where it was. A non-op is going on it so they can't do anything about it. Darwin left me with a lot to straighten out. Now that I've vented a little I feel better.

Well, I was boiling my water for hummers, guess I don't have to, just add the sugar. I think it is time to get a fresh batch for them. Still only seeing one around, hoping for more.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cheesecake factory was once my gotoplacewhenIneedaliftmeup!!!

Go on and eat some for me Sue.

Cindy, Lord will move Doug if the trailer is meant to be his. Just do your thing sis.. if that man is stubborn.. only the Lord can move him. Besides, he's the one that needs an affordable roof over him, so why is he waiting on gold shingles?

Dear LK. May the meds work better for you. I bet you can hear your bones and joints cracking. Somehow they don't listen too well to us when we begged them to quit punishing us!!

Mrs. Olson has a case of boredom Pegi. Tell her to join DG and sign up for FB. She'd focus less on you!

Not a good day today and I heard the Lord scolding me.
As you all know, Kel's been using my truck to school. School's over and he 'demanded' to use my truck for his evening whatevers.
I didn't allow it, since I don't know WHERE he'd be at till 11 p,m. He promised to return earlier, and I told him the truck now is the only decent vehicle we have and I don't want him to abuse it like his white truck. All that unnecessary wear and tear ruin it!

Anyway, he left the house this afternoon with bitter words.
I prayed about it, and I heard the Lord saying.. soften your heart child. let him use your truck.. you need to think of his safety.

So.. sisters... I called him up and let him to the truck. No guilt on my part.
If Kelvin so chose to do nefarious or ungodly stuffs while using my truck.. he has to deal with the Lord.

Yep.. trying to sit back and watch more karma unfold..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry he is being such a jerk Jaye. Did he pay your utility bill?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

You got that right Jayegirl!!! I swear When GOD was handing out brains, men thought she said "Trains" and they hopped a slow one :)

My 4runner loaded with plants for my daughter, plus 5 bags of Preen mulch :)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That looks like a lot of work Cindy.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes he did LK. One of them, but not the shop. He has to dig out his 'savings' eventually. I figured that since he signed up with his credit union, the policy must be he had to leave some $$$ untouched.
This afternoon too, the local bank that he had made a loan behind my back, called. Demanding a payment. Last month when I told him they called, he got mad LK and said that they shouldn't be calling as he paid on time.

Well.. me.. up to now still hasn't told him about the call. He will just split his tongue and lie.. so let me let the Lord lower the curtains and enjoy Kelvin's hapless drama.

I am not being bitter.. over that.. just glad the authorities won't be after me. Thank God we are not married.. everything has a reason right?

Oh.. I found out too the medical bill that he says his ex wife was supposed to pay.. the one that was 100 thirteen years ago and now with interest accumulated that amounted to three thousand? He is responsible for that, as he signed for the meds!!!
And I had asked him to pay that off 13 years ago.. and I know they'd take him to court.

Cindy girl, I get tired reading what you're about to do!!
Trains instead of brains.. too right. In Kel's case, it's paper trains.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I would have given the bank Kels phone number, and told them to remove your number from the files.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, they have his cell number, but he's not answering them. The home phone number has been in their record for years.
It's okay.. it's his signature, not mine.

I know whatever bad thing that were to fall on him, it's his fault, and sadly will affect me.

The embarrassing attitude he showed yesterday. Instead of being happy that Synda finally got a car, he showed his jealousy, saying that he'd never get one.
Of course he won't!! Not when he doesn't appreciate what he has!!

His father GAVE him the company truck, didn't appreciate it. Used it for indecent activities and won't even wash it ever! I did that.
So.. God showed him what neglect and abuse can do.
His father gave him a made business, God knows Kel will ruin it.. so God removed his two major suppliers. Then he had to look for a job at the prison.
Instead of appreciating the third supplier, and kiss that supplier's ass, he debased himself with the co worker, ignored his part time business and neglected all calls from potential clients, He's scrambling now on the road and trying to make up for the money he spent on her.

Okay sisters.. here's the WORST part.
Yes, his ego is bruised. A few days ago, I found a fax cover page with Conner's name and phone number on it, from the prison. And they were both working at the time of the print out!! So, what is he doing with her particulars?? Nope I didn't confront him for the Lord says.. watch out for more fireworks on his pants!!

Be proud of me sisters and brother/... I have come a long way. And as some of you have told me over and over.. Lord will take care of me and Kel will keep on recieving his karma till he repents.

P/s: God has His reasons for me to stay. Primarily to return to my original plans of serving Jesus.
And if I had left, I wouldn't see all these and we won't be laughing at Kel's expense.

With him ignoring bills, he won't be able to get a decent vehicle. He's digging his own hole deeper and deeper. You aren't married you have no responsibility for his bills.
