Oooooh if the third photo is your wedding dress, by all means wear it, it's gorgeous and most appropriate for your anniversary.
Year before last our youngest & hubby celebrated their 25th with huge party. Later in the evening she disappeared and came out in her wedding gown which was actually a bit big on her. I stood and just sobbed as it was a surprise to me. You see I had made her gown and didn't even know she still had it She'd had it cleaned and stored away so it was as lovely as when she first wore it.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends Old&New!
I'm for your original wedding dress as well, as "M" said, show stopper for sure!!!! You leave when?
Karen what a great tribute to you her having kept it..wonder how many of us could get into their wedding dress..I was 93 lbs soaking wet so nope wouldn't fit into it for sure, maybe one leg lol
how are you feeling today? weather co-operating so you can go outside and get a bit of sunshine?
"M" with all going on likely anxiety pains but don't take a chance, if they clear up soon off you go to get it check..Karen will say 'don't wait'
LindaKay, do you go home this afternoon or will you give the needles a chance to work and go tomorrow..bet the grands don't want you to leave or want to go with you.
I just woke up - this is one very tired Susan, to be sure.
I know that my VS was very tired as well. Her flight lands in 1 minute, and her connection is on time
I agree about your wedding dress Judy. It is stunning. And the others will look great too. Does one of the dinners fall on your anniversary? If so, that is when to wear it.
That wedding dress is gorgeous!! I vote for it!
I have my wedding dress tucked away in my cedar chest which is COVERED with DH hoarder stuff!!! I'd love to see it, but FIT ME .. OMG .. perhaps the sleeve ..
I was a rebel when I got married, white dress with a sash around the empire waste in a light shade of mauve/lavender .. .. oh .. the colour was also woven around the wrists too .. ever heard of 'leg o mutton sleeves'?? :-)
I doubt even my DGD would even give it a second look .. these days brides seem to like bared shoulders ..
Soda bread made .. lunch done .. ready to go to town ...
Heart still doing a bit of a whacky dance .. hmm ??? coffee ??
How ya doin Barb .. :-)
~M~
Just barely above freezing here. Hoping it will get a bit milder again.
Feeling OK, still having the nausea, worried it is here to stay. I see the Drs. next Mon. see what they have to say.
Judy, I love the wedding dress, but take an extra with just in case.
The short version of the IRS story is that my Retirement Association LIED to the IRS in 1990 which is what has led to my years of problems with them and loss of tens of thousands of dollars. Alameda County employes tens or hundreds of thousands of people any of whom may also have been lied to/abouot. I'm looking for reprter(s) and attornies familiar with Federal tax and retirement laws. There is a huge story here and major political implications. Spread the word. It should be news all over Ca. but similar things are probably going on in other states. Old/disabled people are regarded by many as fair game. And Berkeley (part of Alameda County) has been home to lots of civil unrest over issues like this. Get your waqlkers and wheelcharis and join the protest!!!~
I feel like I've had a huge tumor removed. Still kind of wobbly so my only plan is to get to my mechanic -0 driving carefully - and get my brakes fixed while I decompress.
Please give thought to anyone who may know or be able to network for help. They have lots of money and they are openly squandering it while lying to those they are (supposedly) obligated to help.
katie
o WOWKatie - what a HUGE relief this must be! I can't begin to know what you must be feeling like re: IRS.This is the best news I've gotten today :-)))
A major load off your shoulders, for sure!!!!!! I agree that this story needs to get out - Will you be getting $$ back?
Susan has landed in Atlanta and is currently retrieving her luggage on the carousel :-)
Is good news but I like Susan am not understanding if you no longer owe the huge amt and if not will there be some king of refund, can hear your sigh of relief from here
Susan, great news!
Karen, let's hope doc can tell you why the nausea and give you something..
"m" don't think I've ever had soda bread
Have chicken Alfredo for supper, best I go eat before it gets cold
Betty, what is the plan for the weekend? Will you go to the Christmas Tree shop, or just Joann's next to there....and Cracker Barrel?
Judy, all of the gowns are amazing. AND like the others, wish I could FIT in my wedding gown.
M...mine with the sleeves sounds much like yours, showed nothing but lace, no skin then.
Mine was ivory with ivory lace. Might have a pic here.
My back is burning so bad across the shoulders and the chest pressure. Nothing touching it.
DS Is doing better and back to work. Love that it is lighter out....and can almost see beautiful sunset colors.
Katie, such good news for you. What a big relief. Even if nothing coming back, big relief you don't owe what they thought.
Hugs to all
Debbie
Debbie hope you can get some relief. Sorry to hear about so much health issues
Judy sorry i like all the dresses LOL. I wouldn't be able to choose either. I do agree with LK take another just in case you need back up .
Susan glad to hear Susan is back on her home turf .
Not much going on here. Tom is hear and keeping me busy and helping me through this weekend.
Hugs
Karen, how are you feeling? I hope you are on road to recovery.
Did you have symptoms before all this hit?
Right now they think I might have pericardius, inflammation of the heart lining.
Possibly caused by a "virus" I know I never had recently.
Sweet dreams all, Been listening to music and trying to clean the cat off my desk
but she keeps coming back.
Debbie
I'm getting there. No really symptoms. Difficulty walking and a bit of shortness of breath which I mostly chalked up to side effects of diabetes. Heart attack Jan. 3 caught me by surprise. A stent was put in and I was sent home. Second heart attack on Jan. 31 caused by stent catching a clot. Dr. thought maybe Plavix wasn't working for some reason. Put in another stent. Again sent me home. Third attack Feb. 17. ..At some point it was decided to do by pass surgery as there was another blockage. So totally different as my problem was caused by blockages.
Are you on medications? Seems it should be treatable.
Morning all
Did someone say it's spring, oh happy days!
Debbie, leaving here hopefully between 5:30-6:00am then have to pick up aunt Muriel then mom in the city which likely wouldn't get us over the border until 10 or so..this trip is for them and they will be moving slow. Only guarantee of where we will be is Cracker Barrel Sunday morning..don't worry about meeting up as I know you aren't feeling well and anxious of your health issues, think you need to be home with feet up looking after yourself..praying for good results
You say Shane went to work, does that mean he has decided to stay and not go west, sure hoping that is the case.
Sue, wonderful that Tom is staying with you this weekend, hugs
Karen, no wonder you are nauseated, that is one heck of a lot of trauma your body has endured over the last few months
Have a safe trip Betty.
Good morning everyone
Busy day here - got Norm home with me for part of it. He has to have his truck repaired from his accident last week. We are planning a get away day for tomorrow. We are going to ride up to Maine to the outlet stores there. There is a Corning ware store there and I want to seen about some new dishes. We are using the same ones we have had since we married almost thirty years ago!!! They are the solid white ones and I'm thinking a bit of color will go nicely now that the apartment is finally to our liking. It will do me so much good to get out!!!!
Been working on my new purse. I have all the parts like the handle and pockets and the quilting all done. Just need to assemble it. Today when the truck goes to the shop....
Sounds like everyone is on the mend and doing better. I'm just thrilled for Katie. This has hung over her head for far too long. And Karen is doing better and Betty is taking it slower.
Now to get Lorna on the road to comfort!!! Sending prayers for all.
I'm off to do the machine so I can start my day. Hope it is a good one for all.....
WELCOME to ?Spring?
Kinda chilly and grey out there, but, at least half he snow is history, so, bring on the bunnies and the bees ... and .. the Robins (still waiting to see one)
Debbie .. yumpin yiminee, PERICARDITIS !!!!!!!!!!! I sure hope that isn't the case ..
Take care of you .. are you coughing up anything ?
LK .. how'd it go with the injections? Hope it was all A OK.
Barb .. are ya sewing, or, kitting, or, BOTH :-)
Sue .. a NO BASKETBALL weekend .. kind of anticlimactic, I always felt odd when DS was done Hockey .. the teams stared in Sept., and, went through to April .. looking back, I wonder how we did it ! EARLY morning practice with games late .. working, appointments .. lawsie .. no wonder I'm .. hmmm.. well whatever colour I am LoL
Safe travelling Betty .. might be busy with folks coming back from March Break ..
Lorna's apt yesterday was semi good. Prosthetist adjusted the foot, and, is going to start working on a new socket ... and, her new meds are kickling in as well, FAVOURABLY ..
Not sure what's up today .. take it as it comes I guess ..
Take care all
TGIF
~M~
Pure love, omg what a smile I'm wearing..thanks "M"
M, I have a dry cough...doc thinks it is from the meds. Am on Losartan Potassium 100 mg. (Cozaar) and 80 mg Flurosomide day...and it isn't pulling the fluid off. Hands are swollen and hurt like the dickens from the pressure. Chest in front hurts clear through to the back and to the left shoulder back. I go back the 27th. Had to cut the Cozaar in 1/2 and take morning and night because it was causing me to get major dizzy. I put on 15 lbs of fluid in about 10 days time.
SO, go back 27th as I said, and if no improvement he wants to do the angio.
such a cute pic M. so adorable.
Yes i m glad no more basketball LOL.
Barb them must be some dishes ! wow. I love white dishes. I gave my old set away to donate. I hated them LOL . My MIL got them for me for a wedding gift. But i kept them while i was married. LOL.good to hear Lorna is feeling a bit better and not worse. :)
Karen that is a whopper of a heart you got there. You just keep on ticking :). Sending healing thoughts to you. Im sure this will take time. Can you eat rice ? I make a porridge from Jasmine rice called Jook. Helps with healing the body.
not much going on for me today. Tom went to work , he works noon to 11 pm tonight and will drive all the way back here to my house. I just didn't want to be alone this weekend.
anyone know how i could have lost my ladder ??? I mean really how does a person loose a ladder ??? doh ? ! . I asked Mr.DungBeetle (Tim ) where it is and he doesn't know. He was the last person to have it ?
Debbie, sure sounds painful and dangerous leaving it for yet another week
Sue, haveno clue as to how one could lose a ladder, sure Tim didn't take it with him?
Barb lovely day you have planned, nothing like new dishes..find living on my own now and no sitting at the table to eat I'd be wasting $$$. Sure hope you find a bright and cheery set and enjoy time with Norm
-15 here this morning but sunshine, kitties keeping me busy with in/out, out/in. Lol
Great news "M" re medsforlornaand tweeting of her prothesis
Was up early, guess ive confused my tummy, am hungry soeatingleft over chicken Alfredo and already thinking supper 😊
Debbie, that is a MASSIVE dose of Lasix (furosemide) it should be working and you should be putting out LOTS of urine ..
Sounds to me like you could have a valve that has decided not to work properly, and, yes, it's found through an angio ..
Do NOT like the sounds of your symptoms .. I think your doc should know about the increasing edema and wt ...
Heading outside to play in the mud with the dogs .. ewewewewewewew ..
Sue, we FOUND a ladder last fall LoL
M
That makes me worry even more so "M" about our Debbie
Come play here "M" ground is frozen, no mud
Hope you're feeling better soon, Debbie. A week seems like a long time to wait for your appointment when you're suffering so much. I take 20mg of lasix a day, and have to plan my mornings carefully, because that keeps me running to the washroom every 10 to 15 minutes for an hour or more!
Mud is finally drying up by me! Still need to go out and get the yard cleaned up. Still lots of poop that was buried in the snow! Probably my project for this weekend! What fun! NOT!
I am back from San Antonio, and I feel pretty good, lets just pray it stays this way. I go back in one month for a follow up.
I did get the results from my hip MRI, it shows that I have a large piece of cartilage missing from the front section of my hip, that is why I am hurting so much, and my arthritis Dr. says there isn't much they can do about it. If it gets really bad, it means hip replacement.
I agree about waiting so long ? I can't imagine a Dr waiting so long ?
I m relived to hear others have lost ladders LOL . Im not alone .
Austin is sleeping at a friends house this weekend. Tim has to work so he won't be here . Savannah will hang out with Tom and I .. she will love it ! LOL .
Nee'll both be sitting on the sidelines LindaKay re hip and am sure once we go we'll both regret we didn't push for it TODAY! Well even a few weeks/months reprieve from pain is worth the drive for the shots..here is hoping you will be pain free..have the ziplock bag with silk for you, unless something comes up I will post it tomorrow
Lasix's sounds like a dreadful drug, omg must be hard for you Deb to plan a full day. Likely only thing I don't miss having Sailor is the spring clean up of poop.hard going for you for sure. How are the dos doing, less rambunctious as the are getting older?
Glad you are not alone Sue...what has happened to our Joyce..
Sitting here wishing I had chocolate, having a 'sweet' attack
Missy is on my left, fell asleep watching me knit and Riley is on the lazy boy, sun shinning in and both are snoring..almost tempted to put my head down and nap myself
The Lasix is fine, it only seems to have me running for an hour to 90 mins, then I'm fine the rest of the day. And, since I'm taking it, my doctor is happy with my BP readings, so I don't mind. I just know, if I have a meeting to attend, to make sure I take it well in advance, or wait until the meeting is over!
Pups are still a handful, but, they are little for such a short time, I'm just enjoying them, mischief and all!
So glad you are getting relief Linda, hope it lasts a good long time.
Missing cartlage is a bummer. I have that in my knees, have had since I was a teen. One Dr. said he could do silicone injections to ease it. I told him no thanks, if I was getting silicone, I had better places for it than my knees. Bad knees seem to run in the family, so far I'm about the only one who hasn't had repairs. The ones who did, it didn't last so just as well I didn't.
I just burst out laughing Karen, I can only guess where, you must be feeling better, you are joking 😄
Deb, the grow too quickly don't they
Are they able to be outside a tad..
Can understand your wanting to take meds early, golly you'd not want to spend all your time in the washroom.
Furries are stirring
Thinking I should order supper, that kind of day
Betty, if your still going to Joann's, I just got a text for 60% off one item of regular price.
Here is the coupon.
http://www.joann.com/coupon/?ici=hs0-1&icn=Home
Thanks, did get one as well..hoping the small sewing machine vacuum isn't on sale so I can use it on that.
Probably another couple of hours and I can take the quilt off the frame..doing random stitches and playing with rosettes..takes a little more practice but will eventually getit, better than overall random and how many rosetts look identical
Will save some $$$ and buy the plastic templates that you Rubin the grooves
Sun has gone down, best I close the front door..
Want to pack what I need for the weekend, get multistory iPad onto paper and get early night..will setmy alarm at 4:30' big grin, who needs the alarm, I'm usually up at that time
get multistory iPad onto paper???
Take more than one coupon Betty, Have your mom or aunt make purchase for you, or more than one trip through line.
