Susan............ has ARRIVED!! She had to spend a bit of time in customs, and she recognized me before I recognized her lol Could be that selfie I sent her lol I'd never taken one before

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Have fun both Susan's. Going to be a memorial time for you two. It's late and I'm tired, took a kind of long walk today and that tired me out. Legs don't want to work so hard. LOL

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you - we are having a great time - nice not to have our words punctuated by the silence of the computer between postings lol

have a good day everyone

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Happy Belated Birthday Susan. I can see it was wonderful!!!!!

I got outside yesterday to go shopping for the first time in forever!!! Only time I've been out other than doctors since December. I got some fabric and notions to make a new purse. It sure did make me happy to breath fresh air, We still have mounds and mounds of snow but it will be melting fast now I think.

Sending prayers for all in need....
Off to breathing machine. Have a wonderful day~~~~~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you got to get out and do some shopping Barb!

Well, Dylan went back to the ER last night as he was throwing up blood, they kept him in the ER till 5 this morning and finally admitted him. Giving him IV fluids, and watching him closely.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sending prayers for Dylan

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Kathy!

How are you doing?

Oh my Lk, how scary for your family. Poor Dylan. Sending prayers of healing.
not much here.
Barb so glad you got out. Feels good to step out and see the sun. :)
Kathy how are you doing ?
went to gym
grocery
oil change
made a meat loaf

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Linda sending my prayers for your GS. What an awful ordeal for him and his family including you even if you are from Texas lol.

I am still residing in a nursing home. I feel like I may be on the way back. Not much sleep at night but I nap during the day which helps.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Ernie, Get some rest when ever you can get it, and keep drinking your water!

I just talked to my son, he said Dylan has been admitted to the hospital, but because the hospital has so many kids with the same stuff, there are no rooms available, so they spent the night in the ER, with everyone else. They hope to get a bed soon. They are getting meds in Dylan, along with IV fluids. Thanks so much for all your prayers and concern! It means a lot!

sending more healing thoughts and prayers to Dylan.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That must be a celebration for you to be able to enjoy outside, and shopping to make something uniquely by you, Barb.
Enjoy your new project, lady.

Sis Kathy, how have you been? Are you back on antidepressants, or the gym helping you?

Sue, have you started on any seeds yet? Or will you abandon selling plants this year?

Ernie, hope you won't be too bored at the nursing home, knowing how you like to stay active. Maybe you could convince a few aides how therapeutic gardening can be.
I am sure your beautiful bride can't wait for you to be home. Praying you'd drink more fluids than necessary to flush out those crystals, and taking in more electrolytes.

That's what I read LK. The virus attack mostly children, and just what you wrote is proof.
Poor bebe.. Dylan is fortunate that the hospital is treating other kids with the same symptoms, so they will do the utmost best in their experience, for him.
Hang in there grandma..

Susan, will Bob be wearing his kilt one day for your guest?
Welcome Susan of Georgia!! Our Susan of Canada is like an expectant mom, can't wait for the baby to appear! If you enjoy gardening, this is the site you need to join, and gain more friends... wonderful friends in fact!!

It's the second day of seeing the dentist. He had to adjust my partial, and Monday I'll be returning to him.
Odd feeling in my mouth, my speech is slurred and I don't think I can hit those high notes without fear of the partial dropping off!!

Give it time Jaye. The slurring will stop.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Susan of Georgia doesn't garden, craft, or cook (unless it's microwaved LOL) But she's one helluva great person!
Here's a pic of her, doing what we both love - online gaming lol
We sit side by side, and play the same game, and have a great time - we're learning tips from each other :-)

Poor little Dylan, Praying for a speedy recovery.

Blood work came back on Taylor she has rheumatic fever. They are waiting to get a referral to a specialist. Sure hope there is something they can do to keep this from happening again.

I planted 20 Asparagus plants, Kale, Yellow crook neck squash, pickling cukes and some gourds.Oh and some Morning Glories, lol. Tomorrow I will plant more seeds. Trying to figure out where to put everything so I can plant flower seeds in between different veggies.

Hope you all had a good day~~~~~~~

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Hello there, Susan from Georgia, glad you will be joining the group. Playing games is good for the memory, my mom always loved crosswords, etc. and her mind was sharp until the very end.

Went to 89 today, really hot so I didn't venture outside to pull weeds Not accomplishing much of anything. I do have some small containers ready to plant seeds. I save most of my yogurt containers as my son is starting some veggies from seed. Probably all of them will end up in his girlfriend's garden, but fine with me as they do share. I have a lot of succulents in my old long iron sink and today have some pretty white blooms, look like a snowball. I'll have to remember to take my camera out tomorrow and get a picture.

Poor Dylan I hope he will be better soon, prayers for him. I think it is just so great that I can look just about anything up just sitting here. Learned a lot about some diseases I never knew about and thankful my kids were pretty healthy.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow! Rheumatic fever? That can be pretty serious? I hope she gets proper treatment quickly. Sending prayers.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I know LK, very scary. When she started getting sick 5 yrs ago with the strep virus they were told to get her tonsils out asap. The rheumatic fever is a complication from strep, I sure hope they can do something about it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

How old is she? From what I read she will have to be on antibiotics till she is at least 21!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Pegi - it's not that type of game...... It's a medieval battle game, with dragons and such......

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I had rheumatic fever. Had to take antibiotics for many years, still do before certain proceedures. My heart beats very fast, doctors not sure if that is a result of the fever or not. I takes med for it every day. Also have arthritis, probably result of the fever. Have had knee problems most of my life. Now hips and back, and hands.

Got to be very careful of colds and strep throat, I have been hospitalized a few times with strep. Throat got so bad I could not drink.
but I also have the added complications of asthma, so add in breathing problems.

It is my understanding that they don't continue antibiotics for as long as they used to. I can only imagine that there has been many medical updates since I had it.

Many hugs Cindy.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I can't imagine what all those antibiotics do to your system, when you take them for so long!

Morning everyone!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,

LK she is 12, but she never got really sick with strep throat that's what is weird about this. Skipped the sore throat and went str8 to achy joints and fevers, tired all the time, and pale skin.

Hmmm looks like we may get some more rain come Sunday, that would be so good for my garden. Have more seeds to get in the ground and need to herbs going in pots, busy, busy day!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope they can get her healed soon!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'm back on my meds, and working very hard at the gym. I am sooo sore!! but no pain, no gain

Glad to hear you are back on track Kathy.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I never got sick with strep, before the rheumatic fever either. I had it when I should have been in first grade. Spent the whole year home, had tutor. I could not walk.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

WOW! That is some pretty bad stuff!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh my, Thunder - your parents much have been so scared - in one so young!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dylan is home. Still weak, but home.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Praise God, guess we know where you'd be heading for the weekend LK.

I don't know much about rheumatic fever Cindy. Taylor is very fortunate that she has a dedicated mother and grandma.

Thank you Thunder for sharing what you went through, it will give some insight as what to expect of Taylor.
Being on antibiotics on long periods of time isn't good for the health either. There are side effects..

Sis Kathy, go girl You'll soon be like Sue here, lean, and mean machine!

Looks like Tom will lift that gloomy clouds, Sue!! Again, is there any chances of him moving to Urbana?

Barb, you talk of breathing treatments. are you on Nebulizer as well?
Do you have to take those treatments daily, forever? Just wondering, as Kel's dad did his daily.

Be happy to welcome Susan from Ga., to chat with us!! I don't game on FB, but Susan, she's welcome to add me.

Pegi, when you're through with the Outlander series, I highly recommend the People Series. Historical Indian fiction by a husband and wife team.
Okay time to do a new room.. brb.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Staying home this weekend. I have to be in San Antonio next Thursday for more injections, so I will see him then.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh poor you, more shots. Thank God the needles are much more slimmer and shorter!!! Rest then LK.

Ernie, how many meds do you take a day at the horsepital. Bet you don't have to take shots!

Come on over, I'm awake now to make that new room.
