It burnd the nerves. They put you to sleep to do t, so it's painless.
Rm 304 "Sweet Interruptions" Hotel
((((((((((Jaye))))))))))) Like kidney stones, this too shall pass............ hurts like the blazes when it does though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kathy - those nerves must have really been bad, for them to resort to using Radio treatment like that
Susan,it got so bad I could hardly walk or stand.
Oh Kathy that is awful!!! Hope the treatment works for you...HUGGS
I think most of you may remember when my granddaughter was younger and was so sick for a long time??? First it was due to her tonsils, those are gone and she was doing so good the few years. Well now she has Lupus, and has been sick since last Friday night. Had a temp of 104 Tuesday night. I am sitting with her now, she's doing better but HATES being sick and missing school. Hopefully she will be able to go back to school Monday.
Cindy sorry to hear your GD is sick. So not fun . Sending healing thoughts and a gentle hug to you and her.
kathy hope it goes well with the procedure. healing thoughts to you
went to gym . Tom got stuck in the driveway. Pushed him out. I parked in my neighbors house LOL waiting for snow removal guy, hooray he is here. hopefully we can get out and not get stuck. we need to go to the grocery store
Sorry to hear that Cindy.
Make sure she has seen a specialist to make sure it is Lupus.
My Mom was told he had it, and for years she was on strong steroids. Come to find out it was not lupus and all those steroids did her a lot of damage.
Yea, LK she saw 3 specialist and they are iffy about it. Said all of the symptoms are Lupus related. Not on any kind of meds, just taking Motrin and Tylenol but she has fever and swollen joints :(
oh Cindy - the poor kid! I hope whatever it is, is confirmed and she gets the right meds for it. 3 specialists being "iffy" on it tells me that they're not just assuming and that's good!
((((((((Cindy & DGD)))))))
Cindy, three specialists ?? Lupus I read isn't easy to diagnose as there are many symptoms that sometimes can confuse doctors. It's good that the specialists are being extra careful so as not to be too hasty in prescribing unwanted meds.. like LK and Susan had said.
May your DGD find relief in the Motrin.
Sis Kathy, my doctor also told me that the only way I can relieve the pain in my feet, (severe diabetic neuropathy) is getting RFs or radio frequency to destroy the damaged nerves.
Since pain killers and even Lyrica don't work. The soles of my feet pulsate frequently with 'electric shocks' like stabbings.
Aww LK. get a cane. Don't want the pain to throw you off balance, with nothing to hold on to.
Barb, we'll have a wheelchair race one day!!!
Sue, you must have some Incredible Hulk strength to push Tom out!!! Kidding sister!
I had experienced living in a heavy snowed city. I had visited a friend in Merrilville, Indiana, close to Chicago for a month. It was so memorable that I don't think I'll see her ever in January or any wintry month!!
Each morning, woke up to the sound of whatyoumacallit.. snow plowers? Then the salt truck.
The males of the house had to clear the driveway which is about half a mile long!!
The whole month, think I got out of the house about 6 times!! Shopping in the malls, wasn't fun when you're lugging heavy coats.
Detest bundling up, and luckily I had the foresight to bring along boots!! I trudged in snow up to my knees!!! (tis easy when you're five feet two)
Don't laugh sisters, me never want to live anywhere that calls for more than 3 inches of snow, and snow storm/blizzards.
Still praying for all here, including the missing ones :D
Good morning everyone.
Sorry that I have been missing so much. Been really busy with grandson, kitchen and living room do-overs and company. Sending prayers to all in need and hoping I can back on here more often after the dust settles. Never knew dust bunnies could grow to be lions so quickly!!!
Hope today is the best one ever.....
Hello ladies.
Redoing a home is one way to get rid of white elephants!! Barb, I know you're enjoying your DGS' company.. or is it Norm that's glad to have a male buddy around? Lol!
Amen to no more shovelling snow for you.
Too funny.. from kitties to lions.. your dust bunnies.
It is impossible for me to trekked down all especially the ones that piggy backed on my kitties :(
Got you, Sue!! Lolol.. I wonder how many sisters here can drive a tractor. I can bushog with an old Ford tractor.
Nothing much to talk about. Weather is good so I drove into town to pay my favorite local librarian a visit.
She said, the membership has decreased on account of either death or relocation.
Yes, sadly, this is not a literary town, can't blame it on electronic gadgets, as she said, majority of HS graduates move out soon after.
Unless there's a major industry brought in, not another prison, this town will be a semi ghost town.
Praying for all and sending love..
Glad to hear you got out for a while Jaye. It is sad that the libraries are a dieing format of art.
We're seeing "little libraries" springing up on street corners, some near churches.
As of Jan 1, all library cards are free (used to be $12 for the year, per adult family member - can't remember what they were for kids.)
We have a brand new library downtown and others are expanding. I know it's an e-reader world, but they have computers in the library too.
I'm surprised that this is the way libraries are going, in Calgary. It's a gooooo-od thing
I used to read a lot. I would pick up a good book and not put it down until I was finished, lol. But that was probably 15 - 20 yrs ago before my eyes went bad. Now I can't get pass the first chapter without falling asleep, lol
So for my daughter's birthday present I told her I would plant her flower garden. it's 26.5 feet long and 7 feet wide. So today I got a 1/4 of it planted. I forgot to take a picture of what I got done today :( But here is some of what I did. I planted 16 daylilies, 25 Glads, 7 Blazing Stars, Rain Lilies, and a bunch of others I forgot the names lol
Yes it is, LK. I'm afraid, the budget for libraries in small towns like mine, is miniscule. For years, when I could, I donate lots of dvds and books to the library, and unfortunately, this practice is rare here. :*( The librarian said, she gets a ton of romance books, but nothing truly for children.
Susan, it's good that Calgary doesn't neglect her libraries. Shows the literary culture of your city.
Cindy, what an awesome birthday present. Hope she helps you with the digging!
I was watching Joseph Prince a while ago. His preaching moves me to tears.. on the book of Ruth.
Just like the other reapers, that intentionally drop some of their gatherings so that Ruth could glean more, you my sisters have that same Godly hearts.
Again thank you so much for helping me. It is hard for me as some of you know. I'm one that would give without thinking twice. The situation has reverse, and with abject humility and gratitude, again I thank you.

No Jaye she isn't, lol I've been working on it while I babysit Taylor. She had a real bad night last night ran a real high temp so no school again :( Besides I like working by myself
That will be a beautiful garden for your daughter Cindy.
Jaye - Calgary....... a literary city...... NAH...... it's a sports nutzoid city. Calgary Flames, Stampede, etc. There are a chosen wealthy few who like the "artsy fartsy" type of stuff, but Calgary is definitely not that type of city, as a whole :-/
There are also mini-libraries - look like miniature birdhouses on a pole, where people put books in and take books out - honour system. I see a few of them in our neighbourhood - one by a Church, and one by our Community Center.
Cindy - poor Taylor. Has the fever broken yet?
Whelp......... back to knittin'!!
Good Morning Sistah's All!
Wahhh, Heartbreaking to hear about diminishing libraries. When I worked at McDougal, It was my job to Dump, yes Dump an entire wall of titles for grades pre k-12. lol it was one of those times I was sick to my stomach to do. On the upside of that situation, I dumped one of each
title in my Library!! Being a school book Publishing, I never worried about them "forgetting" their books. I donated the majority of them after my kids graduated. Kind of wish I kept them.
And, it is I who, taught them how to write in script. I ran to my dump stash and retrieved the lined paper (k-2)...with the help of spelling books! LOL, I truly re-appreciated teachers.
Anyway, As you all know, I just love to read. The library was the true place to go when I was a kid, just to get away from "things" on the home front, sometimes, I just went to hang out.
It was warm and people were friendly.
LOL, Now when I go to the Library, I like to spend time sitting and reading, lol they have really comfy chairs!
Speaking of Reading, Remember that book I was searching for? I found it!! Ackkk, it marked "Vintage" roflol, well slap my face and wake me! Man do I feel old, not. Its vintage price, 149.00!!
And not only that, but the Author, is also known for the Lonely doll collection. My eyes popping out to see one title: Edith and Mr. Bear. I got many years ago...lol now I am on a mad search, it's here somewhere. Keep your fingers crossed, lol.
LOL, Sue I hope that that doesn't change your mind on my raiding your library! hehehe.
Susan, I just love that Canada has Libraries on carts.
Barbara, that's too funny about your desk. LOL, did it come with a dvd on how to put it together? I don't know why that just cracks me up.
Cindy, Your DD's garden is going to be gorgeous! You wouldn't be thinking about moving to Glenview for the season, would you? batting eyes...Gentles armwraps for your GD hope she is feeling better.
Hahaha, Sistah, We just had a week long winter war here...Had to laugh when one night, due to snow, he was really late getting home. I have been hard pressed for a while that I am not the cook of the house. He has always been addiment about it so it's not something I even think about, well. I was still spitting mad, but I felt bad for the man, so I said well I can throw some dogs on. Lucky for him he was all for it. it was already 8:30. LOL, I was laughing and a little bit snickering too as the Tube steaks boiled in the water, and that all he got 2 hotdogs and condiments.
I sure hope the war has ended, last night was the first night we had an actual civil conversation.
OK, well I've blabbed on long enough...Armwraps and Happy thoughts.
Oh , lol but first, I think I'll keep the snow to avoid any hurricane or tornado's yikes!!
Good morning sistahs!!
Armwraps back at ya, Sis Judy!! Do hope you'd find the book. Yes, the libraries were my place of escape too when I was in school. Just not the public library, or the school's.. but also the many private libraries scattered in Singapore.. like the Alliance Francaise Bibliotheque and the American Embassy's very well stocked library.
At the AE library, I'd pore over days old American newspapers. If not for my late grandad who worked at AE, I'd never discover embassies' libraries.
Funny about your tube steaks peace offering, Sis!!! Hope your war ends. Bet he misses your body heat!!
Again, blistering cold here, mercy God, no snow. Hoping that tomorrow would be a tad higher, but I'll take clear skies :D
Morning everyone.
Judy, I hope you can find your book to! LOL at the tube steaks! :)
Jaye, it is all of 34 here today, then Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in the 70's, then another cold front coming through on Wed.
We have such a nice library just a short distance from me and I love to go there. I do like to hold a real book in my hands once in a while, but the kindle has become my very good friend. Now if only I could become involved in gardening like Cindy. She does such great work, I would appreciate a birthday present like that. Hope your granddaughter gets well soon.
Still cool, sun peeks out once in a while. I let the front flower bed go for so long that it is taking me forever to get it cleared out. I thought I should give myself a nice present of Atlas gloves, but when I went to order them I found out they don't take my credit card. Looks like I will have to give up that idea unless I can find a web site that will accept my card. Really doesn't fit in my budget, but I'll have to give up something else. LOL
Judy - libraries on carts? If it's what I think you're responding to, it's libraries on posts, near the churches, and community centers. A small wooden box (cabinet) with door, mounted to a post. Too high for little kids to get at, but the right height for adults.
And I must get to our library, to take out books on weaving! I want to start using my floor loom when Susan is here :-)
LOL my cousin's wife keeps telling me I need to start a landscaping business, or go get a job at a nursery. Gardening is my stress relief method. With everything that is happening with my family I need something to occupy my mind.
Taylor's fever comes and goes at different times of the day and night. Thursday night she had a bad night, but yesterday she got up feeling fine, then by 1 o'clock she had a slight temp. She is so depressed from being sick she actually broke down and cried her poor little heart out, and it doesn't help that some kids from her school tease her about having mono. If they had to go through what she's going through they'd be changing their tune real quick like! Teenagers can be real idiots sometimes, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Mom and I went shopping to WinCo so I picked up some $1.98 flowers 2 Dahlias and a Stargazer Lily for my daughter's garden. It's going to take a lot of flowers to fill it up, lol. Good thing I have lots of seeds.
We got a little bit of rain early this morning, and the Sierra's got more snow but still not enough to get us out of the drought. It's so bad that the water rates are going sky high along with fruits and vegetables. And the Federal government will not give farmers water from the reservoirs, so they will go a second year without planting crops. If this keeps up, California will become a desert for sure!
LOL sometimes I wonder where these men that work in parts departments get their "education"? The choke shaft broke on the rototiller, so my mom takes the broken part to Sears with all the info I wrote down. The guy couldn't find it, so he calls a parts store and he couldn't find it. So I decided to do some research.......I put in the name of the engine, Braggs and Stratton, the model number....and what do you know!!! Up pops pictures of all the different parts, I scrolled through and found the part I needed, it will be here Tuesday. So now my next thing is putting the sucker on, lol
I told my cousin Debbie, "See we don't need a stupid man, we can do things better than them sometimes" LMAO!!!
This has been an emotional day - went to the 4th funeral of a friend of mine, in 5 months
Oct was Thora, and today was her husband, John. They'd been married for 65 years. They had the same anniversary as Bob & I and John had brought her roses on their anniversary, in the hospital. Two days later she passed away, and now 4 months later he passed away....
I've been having little crying spells.......
Sending my sympathies to you Susan. It is always hard to lose those we care about....
Oh my Susan, sorry for the loss of your Dear Friends. 65 yrs is a long time together just know that they are together again and Happy
susan sorry to hear about your friend. sending healing thoughts.
Cindy your killing me with all your wonderful pics of your gardens. we just got another 5 inches of snow. :( but its a lovely day outside. Soft snow. no harsh winds. no bitter cold. so i actually took a walk outside in it with the dog. :)
Jaye i will send you a box of childrens books for your library. Remember i have around 200 books that i need to donate to libraries. I want them to have good homes.
DOn't worry Judy there is still many left for you.
Tom left for work. so i m alone with the kids.
Austin's team won a game and lost one game in the tournament.
todays games are cancelled.
uhg.
Thanks LK for the site for gloves. I can get some gloves at our 99 cent only stores, but they don't last me very long and I know the Atlas ones take the punishment I dole out.
So sorry Susan you have lost your friends. My older sister has been married for over 65 years and that scares me. He has been run through a lot of tests, even at the Mayo clinic, and they still can't pin point what is wrong. Really scary.
I think we might get some rain, lots of dark clouds. Some places are getting rain, but none for us yet.
I think my kindle and I should take a short nap. It seems I'm forever putting it on the charger.
When I consider that Renfrew has lost 4 members to passing, and 3 to..... well, Bob & I and we heard Peter has also left (all 3 of us from the choir).... that makes 7 active members gone, and an 8th that was a former minister's wife (and therefore a friend of the church, but wasn't an active member of Renfrew) who passed away at the beginning of Jan (I didn't know her), they've lost a lot of people.
As usual, Bob & I go to Renfrew after our service at Northminster to pick up Doug, and everytime he sees me, Pastor Gary gives me a big hug, and today he shook Bob's hand. Yeah, he's hurting, losing all those members, in a very small congregation.
Well, heading out to the Motorhome where Susan will sleep when she's here - have to check it out and take some stuff to it.
Smart woman Cindy! Indeed, you can find most answers online, even videos on how to fix stuffs.
Aww, sorry to read that Taylor is being overly judged by her peers. Maybe Taylor should ask her home room teacher to explain mono. Ignorant children are the most cruel.
My niece had to wear a pump and for years she was shunned by her classmates in France. Until she got a teacher that's a diabetic herself and after making the class aware of the disease, Siti's circle of friends increased to 2.
Thank you so much Sue. This is a very poor county and I doubt parents splurge money on books for their kids. I remember libraries holding frequent book reading sessions for tiny tots, but the demand is lacking at this library. Parents rather borrow books, than sacrifice time waiting on the kids while they're being read to. Oh well..
Susan, I am so sorry you seem not to be able to put your mourning clothes away.
Hugggggs Girl. I now can empathize with your concern over the majority age of your church, for it's the same with my new church.
But, there's a ray of hope for the past few Sundays, for I've been seeing a slow infusion of 30 something, which we badly need.. and teenagers who are mostly grandchildren of the older members.
Pegi, my only one regret I have is not adopting. I didn't push that hard enough with my ex.
Guess when I get to be helpless and hopeless, I do hope alzheimer sets in and I won't be able to feel sorry for myself with no family around to see to my health needs. Scary that most paid caretakers don't put their hearts in their jobs.
Went to church, didn't rain this morning, but this evening the weather is harsh. Bitter cold accompany the rains.
At least none of that white stuff!
Thank you Jaye, for your concern. It Does seem as though I just keep pulling out my black and dark purple clothing, doesn't it? I am Sure it's over for now - the worst is over, and now we can look forward to Spring, right?
This is so funny!!!!
THE $2.00 BILL I TRIED TO SPEND:
IF YOU'RE AS OLD AS I AM, THIS IS A RIOT!
Everyone should start carrying $2 bills! I'm STILL laughing!!
I think we need to quit saving our $2 bills and bring them out in public. The younger generation doesn't even know they exist!
STORY: On my way home from work, I stopped at Taco Bell for a quick bite to eat. I have a $50 bill and a $2 bill. I figure with the $2 bill, I can get something to eat and not have to worry about irritating anyone for trying to break a $50 bill.
Me: 'Hi, I'd like one seven-layer burrito please, to go.'
Server: 'That'll be $1.04. Eat in?'
Me: 'No, it's to go.' At this point, I open my billfold and hand him the $2 bill. He looks at it kind of funny.
Server: 'Uh, hang on a sec, I'll be right back.'
He goes to talk to his manager, who is still within my earshot. The following conversation occurs between the two of them:
Server: 'Hey, you ever see a $2 bill?'
Manager: 'No. A what?'
Server: 'A $2 bill. This guy just gave it to me...'
Manager: 'Ask for something else. There's no such thing as a $2 bill.'
Server: 'Yeah, thought so.'
He comes back to me and says, 'We don't take these. Do you have anything else?'
Me: 'Just this fifty. You don't take $2 bills? Why?
Server: 'I don't know.'
Me: 'See here where it says legal tender?'
Server: 'Yeah.'
Me: 'So, why won't you take it?'
Server: 'Well, hang on a sec.'
He goes back to his manager, who has been watching me like I'm a shoplifter, and says to him, 'He says I have to take it.'
Manager: 'Doesn't he have anything else?'
Server: 'Yeah, a fifty. I'll get it and you can open the safe and get change.
Manager: 'I'm not opening the safe with him in here.'
Server: 'What should I do?'
Manager: 'Tell him to come back later when he has real money.'
Server: 'I can't tell him that! You tell him.'
Manager: 'Just tell him.'
Server: 'No way! This is weird. I'm going in back.
The manager approaches me and says,
'I'm sorry, but we don't take big bills this time of night.'
Me: 'It's only seven o'clock! Well then, here's a two dollar bill.'
Manager: 'We don't take those, either.'
Me: 'Why not?'
Manager: 'I think you know why.'
Me: 'No really, tell me why.'
Manager: 'Please leave before I call mall security.'
Me: 'Excuse me?'
Manager: 'Please leave before I call mall security.'
Me: 'What on earth for?'
Manager: 'Please, sir..'
Me: 'Uh, go ahead, call them.'
Manager: 'Would you please just leave?'
Me: 'No.'
Manager: 'Fine -- have it your way then.'
Me: 'Hey, that's Burger King, isn't it?'
At this point, he backs away from me and calls mall security on the phone around the corner. I have two people staring at me from the dining area and I begin laughing out loud, just for effect.
A few minutes later this 45-year-oldish guy comes in.
Guard: 'Yeah, Mike, what's up?'
Manager (whispering): 'This guy is trying to give me some (pause) funny money.'
Guard: 'No kidding! What?'
Manager: 'Get this. A two dollar bill.'
Guard (incredulous): 'Why would a guy fake a two dollar bill?'
Manager: 'I don't know. He's kinda weird. He says the only other thing he has is a fifty.'
Guard: 'Oh, so the fifty's fake!'
Manager: 'No, the two dollar bill is.'
Guard: 'Why would he fake a two dollar bill?'
Manager : 'I don't know! Can you talk to him, and get him out of here?'
Guard: 'Yeah.'
Security Guard walks over to me and......
Guard: 'Mike here tells me you have some fake bills you're trying to use.'
Me: 'Uh, no.'
Guard: 'Lemme see 'em.'
Me: 'Why?'
Guard: 'Do you want me to get the cops in here?'
At this point I'm ready to say, 'Sure, please!' but I want to eat, so I say, 'I'm just trying to buy a burrito and pay for it with this two dollar bill.
I put the bill up near his face, and he flinches like I'm taking a swing at him. He takes the bill, turns it over a few times in his hands, and he says, 'Hey, Mike, what's wrong with this bill?'
Manager: 'It's fake.'
Guard: 'It doesn't look fake to me.'
Manager: 'But it's a two dollar bill.'
Guard: 'Yeah? '
Manager: 'Well, there's no such thing, is there?'
The security guard and I both look at him like he's an idiot and it dawns on the guy that he has no clue and is an idiot.
So, it turns out that my burrito was free, and he threw in a small drink and some of those cinnamon thingies, too.
Made me want to get a whole stack of two dollar bills just to see what happens when I try to buy stuff.
Haha!!!!
I asked Taylor if she has seen a $2 bill she said Yeah.....She is still running high temps, I know this will continue for another week or two :( We've been down this road many times now. Just have to let it run it's course whatever it is she has. She always starts running a fever around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, very strange.
That is funny Cindy. My Grandpa always gave us kids a $2.00 bill when we had birthdays.
Sure hope Taylor is feeling better soon.
Karen posted on Betty's thread she is going home today!
Not many know of 2 dollar bill. Cindy, I myself haven't seen one, though I am aware of its circulation.
LK, Kelvin's late grandma would hand that out for all her grandkids' birthdays. BUT, it's to bring bad luck to them!! Yes, she's evil that way knowing there'd be many stores that won't accept them. Lolol.
Yay for Karen! Praise God.
Somebodies left sum breadcrumbs fer me ta follow! an lookey where i ends up! Hello Strangers! Long, long time no see! lol Boy, do I have a lot of catching up to do! Thanks fer the b-day wishes, am stuck in the house alone cuz two inches of ice out there is no fun and no kids neither! I could been out running the streets!!!! (or the nearest mall) I always got $2 bills, but quickly got rid of them cuz they were considered bad luck!
