Hey Jax. I hope your ice melts soon.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Happy to see a long lost face!! Jax, put on your ice skating shoes.. don't heed my suggestion tho!
Stay safe in the house, turn on your tv... catch up on being yourself without the kids!

Yup, here too, those bills are considered bad luck! Money is bad luck?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Happy Birthday, Jax - WOW - Really LTNS....... how've you been? I think it's been at least a couple of years.......

hahaha we don't have $2 bills in Canada anymore, but I do remember them
The Mint took them all in, and replaced them with Toonies (a coin). The first toonies were defective, and the middle fell out of them lol!!!!
Now, no more $2 bills, but we have toonies with solid centers lol (sounds like a chocolate, doesn't it? lol)

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Happy Birthday Seester Jax! Have a wonderful day

I m so going to do that Cincy ! LOL i have a bunch of them in a jar... Muawhahahahaha

Hope Taylor is feeling better by now Cindy. ?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ladies, please say prayers for Ernie. I just read on another thread that he is in the hospital with renal failure.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Praying for Ernie - he's having a tough go of it right now.
S'funny, but I was just thinking today about how much we miss him here in this thread!

sending healing prayers for Ernie. I was wondering what happened ?
Susan i was thinking the same thing.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Not a welcomed news there LK. Yes, will say prayers for him, and I'll try to get a card out too tomorrow.
His addy is on the address excnange.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Sounds like Ernie isn't taking dialysis, like he said he might not......

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Adding my prayers for Ernie. May the good Lord bless him.I

I have several two dollar bills too. Guess I'll try to spend them and see what happens. Your experience was a hoot Cindy!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's what I am afraid of Susan.
My father couldn't receive dialysis in time and he died of renal failure.
But then, that was in the early 80s in Singapore, so I am sure there are now new advancements in repairing the kidneys even in acute cases. Let's pray that God will make a way for Ernie.. and pray for his family too.

Hehehe.. Barb.. I am sure you'd get plenty of raised eyebrows with your 2 dollar bills.

Good morning sistahs, off to the doctor today.
Good day is wished upon you all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Jaye, I hope it is just a follow up for meds, and nothing to serious?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I know of one other thread that Ernie goes to - I'll check it out.

good morning.
not much going on here.
off to the gym,
bbl

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I didn't find anything about Ernie, other than he sometimes falls out of his wheelchair.
I am praying for him to have the strength of endurance that he so needs right now......

praying for his health and well being. Sending healing energy to him

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Saw the nurse practitioner today, LK. The appt. was with her, as she specialised in diabetes.

We talked of indifferent caregivers here, and today, my experience with a new professional certainly lift my hopes up.

Nurse Karen is such an individual, and so happened to be my sister in Christ, Carolyn's friend too. When I told her that Carolyn's my best friend, she hugged me!!
Jaw dropped when she doled out a thousand dollars worth of insulin and telling me that if I ever ran out just to call her. Whereas my doctor's nurse would only give me a couple of bottles and that's it!!
What a blessing.
Before that, when I stepped into the building, there was Ida. We have the same doctor, and she was called in for her knee.
We sat together in the waiting room, and when she was called in first, I told her that I'll see her at home.
Those words made a big impact on her, as she told me later this evening.

Ida told Kel that she has always been a loner, feel as though she doesn't belong in any setting, and when she saw me.. smiling and walking towards her.. she felt a huge relief.
It dawned on her, that there's me, someone that now looks out for her and when I told her I'll see her at home, she felt a tinge of pride.

Wow.. never thought that moment will come when she thinks of me with much appreciation.
Then she told Kel that I dressed well and look 'good' .. oh yah.. I lost 40 pounds.. 20 more to go! I remember this woman who gawked over my sister who's much more slimmer and beautiful. What an irony.. Kel's shenanigans has a reverse affect on Ida. :)

So.. it was a good day, till I read Susan's words.
My father had to be helped till his last days. Renal failure deplete all your energy.
Yes, keep praying sisters.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

WOW! That PA is awesome, and I am glad to hear the good news with Ida! Congrats on the weight loss.
Saying prayers for all in need!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morningeveryone,

Update on Ernie, he is going to have a kidney biopsy today. He should know something in a few days.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Prayers going out to Ernie

prayers for Ernie.
Jaye so glad you have a good place to go for your diabetes. Wow. glad you saw your friends there.
school closed today :(
No Tom today for me. Have to wait for tomorrow :(
cold weather and yukky. rained all day yesterday and then froze over night. my driveway is an ice skating rink ! we are stuck here.
more snow, rain and ice mix on the way this afternoon.
i m so bored !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear of your bad weather Sue. Hang in there Spring is coming!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - sorry that my words spoiled your day - I know we all worry about Ernie........

LK - Thank you for keeping us in touch with what's going on with Ernie - Praying very hard for him.....

Sue - hoping that the weather clears up for you - no fun being stuck at home, and no Tom :-( Couldn't he fly to see you in his private jet? lol

Today I go to a Legion Lunch. They stopped over the winter, which means that Spring is here! Last one was October. For seniors, they stop this over the cold weather.
Back to my knitting (the term comes to mind "tend to your own knitting" and I have No Idea where that came from lol)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan, I am hoping you have a great luncheon!! Yes we love Ernie and should be concern about him.

Hey there Sis Kathy!!! Warm here today.. eighty degrees, we are roasting. But for only one day!

Sorry Sue, as I had posted on your FB page, get ready for a bikini body, summer will soon be here!! Oh.. and then there's the gathering!!

LK, thanks for that news, a biopsy means he'd have a chance at life.. praying so.
She's a nurse still, not bearing the title of a PA but so knowledgeable as she had worked with a endocronologist. (sp) She also had worked with a thyroid specialist and is actually given patients. Plus, the hospital chain sent her to international diabetic and thyroid conferences to keep up with the latest!! She's 70 and looks 50.

Ready for church, and will of course bring you all with me. See you all later sisters.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Luncheon was great - roast pork and all the fixings!!

news - my son (the one I re-united with in Oct) is an idiot. I love him dearly...... but, he's an idiot.
When he contacted me on FB in Oct, he was just back with his "fiance" who'd taken off on him for another guy, for 3 months. After 1 week she took off again, for the same guy. Was gone for 4 months this time. They got back together on Monday, and last night (Tues) he told me the wedding is back on and they're getting married March 21st. She's 22 and he's 35........
He's smitten with her......
I'm being a good mom and saying NOTHING.... after all, our relationship is new, after 16 years of being apart. The wedding's to be with a Justice of the Peace, on Mayne Island, just off BC coast, with just a few friends. After, they will be driving to Regina, and passing through Calgary so we can meet. As I said, I haven't seen my son for 16 years. Looking forward to seeing him...... her, that's another matter. I will certainly welcome her, IF she hasn't left him again.
Before she left him back in spring last year, they'd been together for 4 years. We'll see.......

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Good news Karen is home, sad news Ernie is having renal failure. Prayers for all who need them and there seem to be a lot who needs Our Lord's Blessing.

Was a nice day, got up to 73 and sunny. I'm wanting to be outdoors now so that maybe means I'm getting ready to play in the dirt. I do want to enjoy gardening again. I'm having a hard time getting up in the mornings, want to stay under the nice warm covers, just Mandy & me.

Austin's team won . They play again tomorrow for the final game. Thank god.
Austin doesn't get to play much. if he is lucky maybe 10 min for the entire game. This pisses me off. Austin doesn't feel like part of the team at all. He is always pretty upset each game. He is not the best player, but its 6th grade boys basketball for god sake !!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

very good news that Karen's home, but sad about Ernie
I will be keeping both of them in my prayers.....

Wow - warm & sunny indeed! We've been lucky to get to 54F........

Sue - it doesn't seem fair that the young ones should be put off of basketball by such competitiveness. It's really a shame that they can't just have FUN - it is a game, after all, and to not feel part of the team? Shameful.......

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Same thoughts here, it's not right that school kids arem't enjoying team sports, but to cater to the selfishness of adults' wants.. that is to win.
One pro basket ball player had made public of his dissatisfaction with agents trying to get hold of his preteen son who's showing talent. Let kids be kids.

Sprained my wrist tonight. The wrist took a beating carrying tubs of water to the kitchen from the bathroom as Kel still didn't fix the faucet.
Then I'm having problems with the truck's steering wheel. Took a lot of strength for me to turn the wheel, seems the power's lacking and made worse as the truck needed to be aligned.. after hitting all those pot holes down the dirt road!!

From church, I went to the drug store to get a wrist band.
Applied some cream, wrapped it up good, took painkillers.. decided to call it a night.. looked for my cell phone as that's also my alarm clock.. guess what..

I lost it!! Must have dropped it in the parking lot at the store.
Went back there, no where to be found.

An SOS here.. if any of you sisters has an old cell phone that I can use, think of me.

I had called up Kel, told him about it, and he's not too pleased saying don't know when he'll be able to afford one for me. Yah, him with a Samsung Galaxy S4, and I had an LG which I purchased myself last year!!!
That man doesn't see the need for me to have one, as he said, I only go to church and the grocery store in town.
Guess he figured if the truck broke down in town I can go to a nearby store.. but what if it did so on the highway.. after all.. there are 10 miles of hwy before I reached town..guess I had to raise my thumb?

Just need a cell phone, I have the 20 bucks for tracfone minutes.

On a good note, my bff said that God sprained my wrist so that mister won't get cooked meals for a while!! Lolol!!

i guess i was a bit upset last night about the basketball. I still am, but i just say the Serenity Prayer and i feel better.
Those coaches will wish they had Austin on there team next year !
Jaye to funny about the wrist LOL. not that you hurt it but that you can't fix food for him.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

My friend Susan IS coming here on Wednesday!!! Found out last night that her passport will arrive likely on Saturday! She put on the application that she wanted to fly on the 11th (my birthday! what a present, eh?) We are both THRILLED!! She's never been out of GA, so this will be a terrific 1st for her :-) Our temperatures are similar, but hers includes humidity from the ocean, whereas we're much drier, so will be more comfortable, I'm sure.

Jaye - I agree - funny that you can't cook for Kel lol
I had already asked Susan if she'd take something back with her, to mail to you. If you still need a cell phone on the 18th, that's when she'll be back home. :-)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, make sure you tell her about getting through customs.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh yeah, I told her about "small liquid bottles", she knows not to call out "bomb" in the airport lol, and told her to bring a coat warmer than she expects to need.....
Told her about check in and carry on luggage - can't have it too big for the overhead compartment.
She has to get a suitcase, because she's never been away long enough to need to pack.
Told her she wouldn't be able to use her laptop on the plane, but could use her Kindle. It's going to be about a 6 hour flight. Her son is helping with the booking of the flight, etc. She'll let me know tonight when the flight is, so I'll know when to expect her and whether I'm picking her up, or both Bob & I.
I told her other stuff too, but can't remember it atm lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Bet you are both looking forward to meeting each other?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hope this trip is everything you hoped it would be Susan, both of you
just too bad she couldn't have come in better weather, perhaps when you and Bob would go camping, show her something of your area

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone!
Good to see you Betty! Happy belated birthday and I'm sure you had a grand one.

Question Susan? There'd be 2 Susans in the house. Will Bob stick to "Your Majesty" when addressing you??? Lolol.. morning humor dear sister!!
Susan, what will you be cooking for her? Some delicious haggis? Nanaimos for dessert?
We don't have that here and don't forget to treat her to a Tim Horton's if you could?

It's sad that kids can't be kids but taught to be competetive from an early age.
Sue, it's in Singapore too. For this small island, it's all about academics. Sports take a back seat.
My neigbour's son committed suicide when for the first time since his school years, he wasn't top of the class. He was 14 then. He'd be 60 this year.

No worries about the cell phone! Going to pick it up today as it was left behind in church!! Praise God.. I've been so absent minded, and I guess that happened when I was using it and left it on the pew. No, I don't engage the cell phone in church, but use the convenient note pad to take notes.

Eighties yesterday and dipped to 40s last night.
Warm again today and I am sure the doctors will see more patients with strange 'spring' fever!!

For the first time, Kel helped with the cooking today. He cuts carrots and potatoes, helped pop the roast in the oven early this morning.
He even served me a while ago.. then bragged to Lola that he had fixed early lunch.
The wrist still hurt, it's easy left overs for me tonight, as for him.. do I care since he'd be in the streets all evening.. nope.. he got Wendy's.

Have a fantastic Friday everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

WOW! Kel helped prepare dinner? Does he have a fever? :)

Morning everyone! I am back home, and feeling pretty good. My hip is about 90% better, and my shoulder is about 80%. it was so good to get up this morning with hardly any pain in my hip!

Glenview, IL

lol Glad Spring kicked him in the butt!
Glad you found your phone...bummer about your wrist!!
ROFLOL, Soak up all the help you can get.

Sue, OMG, sorry about Austin's game play. Man, I probably be upset too.
Kids go to school today? Hey, if your still bored you can always come visit!!

Susan, I hope everything goes smooth and fun for your friends visit. Big smiles, I can feel your excitement all the way over here!

Good Morning!! yay Linda Kay so glad the injections are working.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Me too Judy!
