Betty so sorry to hear of your pain. Wish Noah Happy Birthday from us! 17 years old....... an old man already lol
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Welcome friends new & old
Not going for supper, Noah is having a very bad day (mentally) so Mel called everyone and cancelled. Greg when he called said maybe they would order chinese and I could come over, told them perhaps another day might be better...grrrr
so hoped
Jeeze Betty .. so sorry to hear about the cancellation of the party ..
Perhaps Noah felt it would be too much to take ?
Not to worry you'll all get together when it's better all round ..
Disappointing though for not only you, but Greg and Mel and Kyle as well ..
Lady at one of the stores I was at today noticed I used a couple of coupns, told me to 'check out save.com' well .. Lorna did and she found it quite kookie .. so .. as I AM a kook ;-) I'm gonna go check it out LoL
BBL
~M~
Betty - so sorry to hear that Noah isn't up to celebrate the day of his birth..... he's, as I've said before, God's gift to us - truly one of God's kids.
It would have been nice to be there as a family to celebrate - another day though :-)
Sorry to hear the party was canceled. Please tell Noah I said happy birthday.
argh - I need to learn something new today
Knitting....
I am knitting a pair of fingerless mitts, and in the middle of my row I cast off 10 stitches for the thum gussett (12 stitches now on each needle. Now I'm to cast on 10 stitches over the thumb gusset, in the middle of the row, and I always end up with a stretch of yarn below my cast on stitches (anyone following me now?).
I tried 2 different websites for tutorials on YouTube, but cannot GET it........ I'm So lost........
......help.........
never mind - I "fudged it" and figured something out that required me to go back and forth and do an increase on each side (turning the work from front to back).
It looks good! I feel like such a clever Susan :-)
Glad to hear you figured it out.
Back from having Chinese with Greg, Mel and Noah
You could tell he wasn't feeling well, sees specialist tomorrow in the city.
Greg and Mel are going on vacation a week Thursday, Noah will spend the week with Kyle and Brianna in Toronto.
I think grandma will have Ned and Sophie
Kitties won't like it
Calling it a day, prayers for Karen before I close my eyes.
Debbie, wanted to say how beautiful those photo's were, you should have followed a career in photography
Susan, great you figured out the pattern, no stopping you now
Greg got an order in from Wisconsin, he ordered 3 more pairs of bunny boots, swears by them, Mel's feet get cold easily when she is snowmobiling so he has convinced her they mean no more cold feet..all manufactured by army in the 1980,s
I mentioned I was knitting dickies/then attaching deer Hyde,, put in an order for 4. Lol
Good that you got to spend time with the three of them, to celebrate Noah's birthday with Chinese dinner, Betty :-)
So, this is the vacation they were to take when Noah was attacked...... good that they're going - it will give more of a sense of normality to the family. It's difficult to move on, but it's best that they do. It won't feel so "fresh".........
Thank you, LK - I'm rather pleased with myself about the thumb gusset. I like this set of fingerless mitts - it's so quick and relatively easy (except for the part about adding stitches in the middle of the row lol)
Bunny boots? from the Army? will have to google that LOL
Oh Betty! The grand doggies! They are so cute! BUT....you will have your hands full!
Bunny boots - lol funny, but useful.......

Betty sorry to hear Noah is having a bad day. Poor guy. Sending him hugs and healing thoughts.
I made it through the basketball. Good thing girlfriends are there to chat with. OUr team won our first tournament game. So they play saturday. I have to be there at 8 am. for the door admission volunteer. :)
i m still very tired.
Stopping in to check on Karen. Was in thoughts and prayers all day.
I have been keeping busy....music streaming on computer and trying to stay off
except Linda Kay & I playing word games. lol
Got another bag out to the trash and more to go.
Prayers for SMokey also!!! Our Franky is nearing that time too. But he rallies,
and is like a kitten some days.
I am turning in....sweet dreams all.
I enjoyed the games Debbie. I am headed to bed as well!
Just up peekin in for a sec ..
That time of year where it's either too warm, or, too cold to sleep ..
Checking on Smokey, sound asleep right now ..
Would imagine they'll have Karen up during the night .. just amazing !!
Gonna try this sleep deal once again ..
~M~
morning all,
Another cold day, have some shovelling to do as we had stormy weather in the afternoon and I never did get out to shovel.
Sure hope that Karen spent a good night..is amazing for sure how it's such a major surgery and that they are able to get them up and at it so soon..
Debbie/LindaKay who came out the winner? lol
Poor kitties, guess they are all taking in all the loving you are giving them knowing what's to come..brave you must be my friends!
Photo of Noah from last night
looking around to see what I will play with today
bit of knitting and some applique will surely fill in my day

Sean is still here so I have not been on the computer.
So glad to read the good news regarding Karen. I'm sure she will do great as she is such a strong lady.
~~~Waving to all for now - checkup at heart doc at 7:45 and must get ready to go.
Will check back in after.....
Bundle up warm Barb.
Thanks for the picture of Noah!
Happy trails Barb .. I gotta tell ya, I LOVE early morning appts .. later in the day I feel not only am I kinda 'foggy', but, perhaps the doc is as well ..
Betty, nice pic of Noah .. he is changing in his looks .. difficult being a teenager and going through all that, PLUS the ever popular hormonal stuff.
Smokey is still with us, had some chicken and some cream this morning, picked a fight will wee Lilly and sent her under the bed LoL
Feisty old beggar is he ..
Thinking about Karen, it'll be a busy day for her .. extra prayers for sure .. say .. did I leave my black knit gloves in the waiting room ? Can't seem to find them.
COLD here .. -25F .. Gord is not doing well .. hands are sore, burning and little feeling .. quite puzzling, makes me think he has a compressed nerve somewhere ..
Betty .. the youg couple (22) who were killed just down the road from us were from Barrie (the girl) ad, the fella was from outside Barrie .. Belle something ..
Quite the talk of the town ..
Making another apple cake/crisp .. have apples to be used, and, a half a cake mix as well ..
Take good care
~M~
"M" when did that accident happen?
you sure are in a cooking/baking mood, wish I lived closer so I could do some testing lol
you did leave you glove and it's warm, wearing it to keep warm..drats cold and wind is up so really blustery..hate to go get my perm today but best I do
I'm back!! Best checkup in quite a while. Blood pressure at 108/68m; heart rate at 88 and it was 110-120 steady for a while) 02 level resting at 97, activity it plunges but recovery time is quick again. I'm thrilled. Still have restrictions about not going out in the cold but I can if it is only to house to car etc. I can go shopping if I want!!!!! I am so glad. AND I lost 5 pounds!!!! I guess I should rearrange furniture and stuff more often!
Sean will be going home tonight and has asked me to teach him how to play cribbage. This from a kid who hates numbers and math. Should be interesting. Where should I start????
Hoping the new computer desk comes in soon. Then we can finally put this room to rights. Then it is on to the sewing room. Purging time again. I don't understand how I can collect so much when I don't go out. Darn online shopping!!!!!!
Hoping this finds Karen doing well. I'm sure she will be home again in no time. David was only in hospital for 6 days and then it was long because home was so far away...
Off to find the playing cards......
Morning all!
Karen, hope today is a good one. Hugs...
M, are Gord's shingles gone? Sorry to hear about his hands. That's where my arthritis chooses to flare up. Never fun.
It's beautiful today. Starting out in the 20s. Much better than -13!
Great pic of Noah, Betty :-)
you, keep yourself busy? since when?!?!?! lol
Marilynne - hugs for you & Gord. He must be puzzled/annoyed as well as to what's causing this "extra" pain. Poor Smokey - glad he's so feisty lol *hissssss spit*
wonder how Karen's doing this morning
taking me forever to type this as I yawn - haven't had my coffee yet........
Finished 1st one of fingerless gloves last night - think they're too long, will have to take some back. They wrap around the hand with buttons/buttonholes, so where the buttons are can be as long (wide) as you like. Won't take but a half hour to make it right, and re-sew the buttons on. The tension is right with the right needles..... ah well, adjustments lol
Early morning, and the temp is 14F (plus!) :-)
How about some hot chocolate to go with "M" apple cake/crisp?
Well, it looks like we are supposed to have sunny skies today, and maybe 70 degree's.
"M", could his hands be hurting from the shingles?
mmmmmmm hot chocolate sounds delish! Thank you, LK
That Apple crisp sounds good too - been awhile since I had it.
Cribbage lol that reminds me of 2 things - 1. just before my dad passed, he was at home in bed, and my 2 kids were sitting on the floor next to him, playing cribbage. He was coaching them. Wish I had a picture of that - it was one of the sweetest memories I have of his last days.
2. When my niece Robyn came with her friend Raquel to visit my mom many years later, Robyn was playing cribbage with mom (Raquel didn't know how to play and wanted to learn). Robyn was counting on her fingers (y'know, where you touch one finger to another, etc, as they'd been taught in school), and my mom said "ROBYN! why don't you count in your head?" She was amazed that a University student was counting on her fingers. Robyn was embarrassed, and the next time she came to visit, she counted in her head lol
She said "See Grandma - I'm not so lazy anymore, I can do it lol"
Hi
I've been keeping everyone in thoughts and prayers and all the furbies too.
I am really very upset here. We have had an all out Winter War!! That's it, I'm just done.
So much that I actually Yelled the F word. I almost want to undo all that i've done just so Mr. i have to do everything can DO what I am not...I stopped listening at what HE wants in the morning, my man is stuck in the 50's. I'm not kidding, Like I am suppose to stand at the the with his coffee in hand, be the doorman for him, lol I'm thinking yeah you better go back to sleep with that dream...He, like his mother has selective thinking and listening
Needless to say, i am not in a fantastic happy mood, I'm furious, so mad i'm shaking.
I hate winter and just sick of this time of year. And the whole giant stupidity of this is because he couldn't find the cover to his go coffee cup! Which i informed him was right there in front of him.
Barbara, i am just so happy you got a such a great health review!
M, Yikes, was thinking it was from those shingles...From the very little bit i know, these can cause lasting symptoms. I sure hope he regains strength. Glad Smokey is hanging on.
Dianne, hope you are doing well. And geese i really hope the coyotes have moved on, so scarey.
Is your back feeling better?
On the Up side: Thank you all who have prayed for our friend Pamm. She had an MRI the other day and wonderful news the chemo has knocked out 70% of the Cancer!!
Betty, I'm glad you went and had the Chinese for Noah's birthday. Hope he has a good session with his appointment.
Waiving hi Katie, was glad to see you post, Nice your keeping busy.
Well, I got to get back to doing the absolutely nothing, that I started as soon as my feet hit the floor this morning...LOL, and Now, i'm keeping a list, what a waist of time, but it's my proof!
Already, made the bed, cleaned the kitchen, put all his stuff he just leaves around where he is at, got 2 loads of laundry going. I was in the process of cleaning my bedroom, but Oops the maid was killed during this war. So, being the beotch that I am, only cleaning my side!!
I need to go smoke because apparently that's all i do all day is sit around and smoke.
Thanks for listening to my RANT, Can't wait to take this crap out on the weeds!! OH and by the way, birds aren't not suppose to make any noise until 8:A.M., Can you say I am NUTS!
Hope your Day is Happy, Healthy and productful of what you are working on.
Sorry your going through that Judy.
My first hubby was like that. I would do laundry, iron all his dress shirts and hang them in the closet. He would shove them all to one side, looking for a certain one, and then yelled at me because it was wrinkled. I finally told him if he would quit shoving them from side to side, they would not be wrinkled, and told him when he pulls it out of the closet he needs to iron it himself!
whoa - Judy, you're on the warpath, little injun lol Good for you!! I used to regularly go "on strike" when the kids were little. Worked the first 2 times...... after that it was "oh well, so the house isn't perfectly clean" comments from the peanut gallery and their dad............
Rant all you want, dear lady - and those poor weeds (when they Dare to poke their heads up) won't stand a chance lol
Birds make noise before 8am? As per who???? lol Bob gets annoyed in the early spring when they're doing the nest building thing - they are SO noisy!!
Ok, I'll go back to doing absolutely Nothing with you too (I don't smoke, but I'll keep you company).
BTW - I know that Katie will not get her gifts from you, because of the *^$)(# post office returning the stuff I sent her (said "can't find recipient") so I'm going to post the pics of the ever-so-sweet gifts you sent us. The puppy was for one of the kiddies........
Katie said to give the stuff to someone deserving in my city, so I shall find someone - maybe the Pregnancy Care center - they have live in moms and their little ones, while they are waiting for the new birth.
Sorry to hear the post office does things like that!
Yeah, Katie said that stuff disappears in Mexico, so she gave me a valid address in CA - apparently they don't know her there?!?!?! Stupid PO - this really gets me po'd lol
Love the robin picture!
Holly Wahhh
Judy, don't blame you, you are easy going, always doing for everyone and not appreciated, time you stand up and say 'its the maids day off'
Ahhh Bev, love the Robin, when chatting at 4a.m. did he say he was on his way to my neck of the woods? the last few mornings I've heard a few birds chirping, did they not get the 'freeze alert?'
I've bird seed, must start putting some out, they must be hungry.
Love the gifts that Judy sent for Katie..drats, that's too bad she can't enjoy them.
was to go for a perm at 4:30 p.m. but Joanne called and asked if she could move me to Friday.
Apparently there is a woman who just had an organ transplant, fretting around people and Joanne didn't realized she had her booked just after she'd put the perm curlers in..lady doesn't do well with people around her so I said I didn't mind going around for 2 more days without curls.
went through a pattern box I filled during the year, came across one called "Sir Sam and Friends..table runner of 5 snowmen, about 14" x 50" Am so tempted to try him but said 'self, finish some of what you've done before starting this piece' BUT they are too cute for words,should look to see what I have in stock to make him.
