Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Welcome friends new & old

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!
Hope and pray everyone stays Warm!
Karen, I'm glad you got a tiny bit of rest and they got that bleeding under control.

Sorry to hear Gord is still feeling discomfort. Hope that stops.

Brrr, everyone is feeling the winter. Omg, Barbara, lol I am in same boat as you. My feet can't handle the cold. Hope your visit was wonderful.

Betty, AWE, yours and Noah prayer shawls are lovely.
I am really glad the paper made a correction.

Well, I am still at the cleaning process, lol never stops!!

Not much else going on. Found 3 cd's of photos from the My office...LOL, one has photos of your surprise Birthday party in a box! All my garden pics!!

oop, got to make DH lunch, be back in a bit.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Marilyn - remember that commercial with Madge doing someone's nails in Dawn dishsoap? Keeps your hands soft? I know it sounds silly, but maybe that would work? Hate to hear he's in such discomfort....
It's much more temperate here, so I rather suspect the temps will stay this way. We had our weird cold and snow earlier this winter.

Continuing prayers for you, Karen......

Judy - you pack a lunch for your DH? Surely can't be lunch time there lol

My diet seems to be working - I can feel some weight going, and see it in my tummy. No, not just wishful thinking :-)
Made coffee and had my breakfast, now to get back to knitting.......

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

A little chuckle for ya'll :-)

Ontario POEM

It's winter in Ontario

And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Ontario When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Ontario

'Cause I'm frozen to the ground

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hahahaha yeah, I'm glad I don't live in Ontario!!!!!!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love that poem "M"! How is everyone doing today?

Morning everyone! Judy, so sorry I missed your call the other night.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm tired....... in a hour I'm going back to sleep and catch a good nap.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Your poem made me smile, Marilynne. I was just wondering as I see so many schools here closed or delayed because of our single digit temperatures, how do they handle school where you are with your minus degrees most of the Winter??

Hugs all around and a special one for Karen.

did laundry
took kids to dentist
paid property taxes.
tonight is basketball. can't wait for it to be over

Lyndonville, NY

Just to prove she is frozen, I went down to Lake Ontario, just 3 miles to the end of my road,
and I took some pics for you.

First pic, was Feb. 1st. The others....today. No signs of water! Just ice cubes!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Brrrrrr.....

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Barb and I will watch the rest of y'all from the window. We will take pics of y'all getting frozen while building your snow people! !
I like to breathe, thanks.

We spent the day in 75 degrees. Bush Gardens Saw Shirley Jones, she did a pretty good show for 81 yrs old.

Birds were beautiful.

Our school kids 'tough it out' in cold temps .. I'd say 90% od them are bused, so, they just run from the house to the school bus, some are driven by parents, and, perhaps the 2% who actually WALK, would be bundled up to the hilt ..
BUT, when it snows, the buses stop after 3-5" has fallen .. the bus drivers call the shots ..

Good day, Lorna's apt was late by 40 minutes, but, I was able to meet up with 4-5 colleagues and have a good laugh .. one just had back surgery, and another is waiting for a new knee .. the joys of being an old 'bull moose nurse' LoL

LOVE the pics :-)

Out with my 'thundering herd'

Night night

Offering prayers for Karen

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

As I sit here in the waiting room with everyone, I'm making new friends with Dianne's herd! What a group and so well behaved!!!! The way an animal senses what is going on with we humans is downright uncanny. So nice to meet Duke Diesel and Chaos......

Sneak a prayer in if you can, for our Smokey .. he is nearing his trip over the Rainbow Bridge .. very weak today .. a decision will have to be made ..
Uggggggggggg ..

mulege, Mexico

I'm in the circle with a bouquet of rose-colored hibiscus and jasmine. The hibiscus blooms all the time, the first jasmine opened yesterday and will be a nice smell for Karen when she wakes up.

Lisa Marie and I went to town yesterday. Had breakfast out - a treat for both of us, did lisa's errands and shopped the thrift store and Saul's grocery. Exhausted both of us.

I'm doing much better - I think. Not much energy but there are fewer hot flashes. Still not much energy so Betty and I are spending a lot of time in bed, snuggling with the furries.

Must go back to Ca. sometime soon. Not looking forward to it, especially as spring is here and it's a beautiful time of year here. Lots of plants leafing out with their various and beautiful shades of green. My schotia tree which got sick last year is leafing out and may bloom which would make the birds happy - it has lots of nectar. It is also beautiful and I'd love tog et some more seeds.

Tony and I are waiting for the government people to come out and measure our property so we know what we owe for it. I want to get it paid for so it goes to Tony with no problems when I die. They were supposed to be here last Friday. We had a big rain about ten days ago and many little rains since As usual, parts of our road washed out and everything goes sideways. Added to medical problems and the IRS and whatever else is going on, I'd like to get at least one thing handles.

IRS letter was sent just after the Super Bowl and I begged them to send me an email confirming that they got it as they have given me a court date and tell me if things aren't settled an I'm not there they will find against and I will have no appeals. This is the fourth time I've sent them the information. Another reason to go to Ca. is to visit their advocate's office in person and stay until this is settled.

Max the semi-feral dog is getting more civilzed. He has a thing about being petted on his back. Yesterday he turned his butt to me, obviously looking to have it scratched. I obliged. He looked startled and jumped around to face with a puzzled look on his face - but no biting or snarling. I've learned what things usually set him off and am careful and I think he's learning to be more trusting. A few snarls but no biting for quite a while.

Time to ride my exercise bike and watch Ellen. And stay in the circle for Karen. And visit Noah. And nap with Betty.

hugs, katie

Thank God for Karen getting through the surgery well. I was in the circle in heart and thought, even though I wasn't online. Lots of soft, gentle, warm hugs for her.
LK - thank you so much for keeping us in the loop and keeping on top of all of this.

Marilyn - so sorry to hear about Smokey. The Rainbow Bridge will be there, when needed.
How is Gord today?

Katie - sorry to hear about the bureaucratic bs you're going through. I hope they let you know when you can go in and have your say!! Glad to hear your semi-feral dog is calming down and not biting - you surely don't need another bite from him.
Hibiscus and Jasmine - how very beautiful and fragrant! I can understand why you don't want to leave the beauty of Mexico in the spring!

Victoria Harbour, ON

just dropping in to check on things

Prayers continue for Karen

"M" thrilled that Smokey is resting well with Gordon

Katie, it's the waiting and not getting responses that drives one over the bend..hopefully if you are in California and in their office it will help clear up the issues (in your favor)

Girls just left, worked on quilting their last week's projects

I just took another pain killer and am hoping I'm pain free for the birthday party at Boston's Pizza

looking at the clock, few hours I can nap
