embedded stitches/staples? OUCH.......
happy Kyle got what he needed. Had never heard of a Social Coach, but it sounds like a good thing!

Betty - how lovely that you may able to help Suzanne's BIL

For those with cold & snow - hope it gets better soon for you :-) Actually, it WILL - when Spring's here :-)

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Yes, Betty, Luke has been in special tutoring for just about everything since he was 3. He talk very well and can memorize a movie after seeing it twice. He will be going to regular school in September but will have 1 special class. He lives in Spokane Washington and the State of Washington has an excellent training program provided by the state. Luke's mother is a saint. She quit her job and her total attention is focused on Luke and his training. They have two older daughters. Megan is 16 and Natalie is 13. They are from her first marriage but they consider Todd their father. And they also help with his training.

I was lifting my DH's wheelchair into the back of my SUV after a doctor's appointment and I knew half way up I needed to stop ad start over but NO. I just kept on going and I knew I did something to my back. No pain at that time but the next day, big time spasms. Only second time in my life I have had spasms. It is so much better than it was. I will never wait 3 weeks ever again to go to the doctor. Who does that remind you all of.You all have a wonderful day.

I am doing good if I can sew on a button. But I am a good cook. When I was depressed, cooking was a horrible task. I finally knew I was back because I again enjoyed cooking and gardening. Funny thing about depression is you usually do not even know you are depressed.

My garden helper is here so I need to let him know what I want done today.

Have a wonderful day. Sharon

Victoria Harbour, ON

That's great that he has so much support Sharon, hate to think what would happen to both had they not! Lordy, you are describing Kyle, I was always amazed that he could almost word for word a movie he saw but once or twice..I always joke, don't ask Kyle how his day went because you need an hour or two..he goes through the " I said, he said, description of onlookers and their comments, then his thoughts" lol

Spasms have to be the worse, is there a lift that you can get to help?

Does your gardener need a Canadian vacation? sure could use one come spring

Susan, just talked to Greg, they were going into Dr.'s office and 'no' the doc wasn't kidding he said..gave him all kinds of meds to help..Greg said there was 48 more to come out

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Ouch, Sharon - hope your back is ok........
Great that Luke's mom is so good, and dedicated.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ouch - 48 more? Is it because some are embedded?

Victoria Harbour, ON

not sure why Susan..he'll be in bad shape
will phone in a bit, thought while I pick up some of the supplies for my project I might see if they would like me to pick up eats for tonight.

warming up with a bean burrito and hot tomato soup.
Hoping Noah gets some relief soon from those stitches. warn gentle hugs ((()))
done for the day.
grocery done
paid house.
paid cell phone.
but forgot my turkey bacon :( uuuhhhg.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

mmmmm tomato soup - That's what I'm making for lunch - it's called Fire Roasted Sweet Pepper & Tomato soup. It's one of those boxed, ready to eat types - no water to add. Gourmet :-) Used to be Gardenay, now Campbells
Not what I would have bought, but when we got our "pre-paid" Christmas hamper, it was one of the items in it.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

My stomach is still in knots but less painful today. Maria stopped by on her way to town. She has been sick while I've been fatigued, etc from radiation so we haven't seen each other in a month or so. I've missed her. We had a nice visit and she brought me milk from town.

tony and I will take two of the dogs to the vet clinic on Thursday. I was going to do it but Maria asked Tony if he would do the driving. I love having friend who watch out for me.

Cooking chicken for the dogs' dinner. It's in the microwave and I'm going back to bed.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Your dogs must be really healthy Katie with the home cooking they get..think "M" and Deb make theirs as well..only think I can say about it is that I was too lazy to make sailor hers..you have to be really committed.

Sounds as though Katie you have a good support group, that is heartwarming..

What is your weather like?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope your stomach settles soon Katie!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Katie - sounds like you need a momma (I was told that once, and really - think we all do at one point or another) and that sometimes that momma is Maria - good for her!
Glad to hear that you're in less pain, and that Maria is feeling better as well. Great thought she had, for Tony to do the driving.

back to quilting :-)

Glenview, IL

Hi, taking a break.
Wow, I've got a lot to read...lol, been in deep thought as I do the clean sweep.
I've been reading my notebooks-11 total, scraps of papers, cards, looking at photos, reading old letters, that I've read or have been sent to me and laughing and crying, being reminded of stories, seeing what I've accomplished and what still lies in wait, got to giggle, too many (waiting). Well one thing is for sure, It feels so good, to get rid of the clutter. In the very near future, I will be going through the "shrine" front room, not too bad since I just did that room not so long ago. and our bedroom closet.

I got to say, it is really kind of fun to read some of my notes, jotted words or maybe just phrase and it's even cooler that a good majority of it I have pictures...LOL, believe it or not this cleaning craze started because I was looking for one specific thing. Well, yippie, I found a few of the photo cd's-Im missing and a couple were mixed music! There are more at least 3 or 5, LOL.
I got so engrossed in this project, I forgot to eat, so having a quick bite between words.
So, I've been just absorbed in trying to get things into some sort of order as I go. Craft table would have made great puzzle, banister piled with cd/dvd. LOL, I even emptied the all devises so I can get things matched, lol and the dusting goes on as we go...

Well, The kids finally took Pegasus for a checkup! OMG, I am so glad they did. Poor baby has some congestion, they gave him some antibiotics. And they are to go back to feeing him the formula. Seems we've been feeding him too much. He is already at an adults weight and actually 4 oz more. buldging eye balls, baby bird is obese! Well when he came home after being poked for blood test and a beak of syringed meds. He also had his claws clipped. that was at the end, I guess he jerked and a talon cut too far. he did not have a good first visit.
So, all he wanted was some serio9us cuddling/loving from none other then Grandbird. We snuggled nice and quiet for about 45mins. He just sat on my chest with his little head on my shoulders whimpering.

Ok, I'm putting everything away so I can catch up with you all...lol I deserve a break.

S N O W !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lotsa shovelling and ploughing .. supposed to get quite a bit by morning ..
I promise not to send it east Betty/Dianne ..

Hope you find out Noah did well ..

Katie .. take care of that tummy ..

Ya, we are kinda committed to the raw dog food, an, it is quite involved, but, he dogs coats show how good it is, and, their health too ..

Off to cook spaghetti ..

Stay well

~M~

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

awwww Judy - poor little Pegasus..... bet he feels ever so much calmer for resting on GrandBird's chest :-) I can just picture it............

We had snow last night, so I'm staying home nice and cozy, in my sewing area! If I get cold, I could always throw piles of fabric stash on me lol

Verona, ON

I'll hold you to that promise M. Weather Liars say 2 - 4 cm tomorrow afternoon.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Katie, find some mint and chew on it. The Hispanics swear by it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got back from seeing Noah, sure made me sick to see him bare tummy, your prayers certainly brought forth a miracle, no doubt about it..we talked about your prayers and he was thankful..emailed 2 photo's for you to see how bad he was but I said I didn't think you would want to see them

Just after 3 mel/Greg got a call to say they arrested 2 more in the stabbing (over 18) mel had their names

Tummy is turning so hot chocolate and to bed I go

mulege, Mexico

Good news about the arrests. Prayers for Noah continue. Maybe this is his chance to catch up with Kyle in terms of parental attention. Not a way I would recommend but it it will probably bring them all closer. Will pray for healing all around.

hugs, katie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Sharon - I swear by mint as well - in the summer I grow it, and make and infusion of tea.
In the winter, I have a couple of sips of mint liqueur (can't remember the name of it off-hand)

That IS good news about the arrests. Those over 18 will get stricter punishments than the other one who's 17. And they attacked a 16 year old.......
I'm pleased to hear that Noah is thankful for prayers. That's always a good sign. Thank you, Betty, for letting him know that he has a group of people that support you, and him, and all the family.

mulege, Mexico

OK, I chewed some mint and I'm drinking ginger tea. I have a sparrow hopping around my kitchen looking for crumbs. Gives an idea of how much of a house keeper I am.

I'm having a major hot flash and playing poker.

Got most of the dishes washed while praying for Noah and the rest of the family.

I think I'm getting better but I'm sure glad to have Maria and Tony as parents and the dogs as playmates as I go through this. I am so forgettable I need two people to help watch out for me.

hugs, katie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

There you go, Katie - a momma and a poppa! How lucky is that?
I gather you grow mint as well? good for you. Ginger is awfully good for a sore throat - never thought of it for your tummy as well.......

I'm off to make some Chana Masala - never made it before, but there's a first time for everything!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Chana Masala?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I just Googled it, sounds too spicy to me.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Chana Masala is chick peas, diced tomatoes, red onion, with Indian spices (not curry, btw). The spices can be sweet, or hot. Bob & I had sweet Chana Masala, over rice. He liked it, and he's kinda picky about his food.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

GROAN ... will be spending the day shovelling, blowing, and ploughing about 11" of snow !!
Gord is even out there giving it a go ..

Singing birthday tunes as well Judy..mouth watering, you sure know how to bake a cake LindaKay.
Judy, what special thing will you do for yourself today or should say the family do for you?

Blackie won't be happy LindaKay.

"M" bitter cold here today, not snowing, think it left my neighborhood and went to your neck of the woods..sorry..

your special dish Susan sounds delicious but I don't like any spices so wouldn't be for me.

Katie, how did you do with 'poker' big winner?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No, he will not be happy for a few days!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

All of you hang onto your coffee mugs/tea cups !!
GORDON is out snow blowing .. he did the patios and walkways while Lorna ploughed the driveways .. doubtless he is going to be a hurtin unit I think, he and Blackie might just need to share the kennel ..
So good to see him out there .. I just had to minimal shovelling, the dog paths of course .. and the areas under the bird feeders, so much seed on the ground, but, I KNOW they appreciate it when you look out and see them hopping about having a little feast ..
Wind has picked up, temps are dropping, I want to get up to the village store to post valentines for the kids, am sure they'll likely get them on St Paddy's day, and they live just half an hour away ..

Awww Blackie will no doubt be home with a 'cone' on? Piper did, and he came in and ran straight under the bed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor Gordon .. it was quite the task to extricate the poor dog ..

Guess since DH and Lorna have the elements outside covered, I can do MY THING inside .. no baking as the pups BDay cake will take about 4 days to finish LoL
Think I'll AGAIN tackle the kitchen table .. the DROPALL area ..

Take good care, prayers and hugs and HAPPY BIRTHDAYS (Judy) :-)

And that delicious cake.

I actually slept in to 7, and actually put real clothes on, lol oppose to sweats.
Getting ready to have a fire, just to have a fire, I always toss in a few prayers.
I've been scouring through photos, found another box from the office, found a disc but pouting because for some reason this computer not reading it. Oh well will deal with that later...Will be mostly a quiet day, I'll probably read and play on computer.

My family took me out on Saturday night for dinner, it was lovely…(picture included)
Tonight we will stay home, Julia and David coming over later. We will have a cook athon tonight Steak burritos...My favorite!

I want you especially, to know, along with all of our family/friends here.
