Sorry to hear that, Deb. :0(
Please keep all your snow ladies, I don't want it. It was in the high 50s yesterday. Unheard of for Feb.
I went looking for back splash materials yesterday. Just let me say no matter what I use, it won't be cheap!! I also priced a new over stove microwave. My old one is 23 years old and only 800 watts. I guess I've really got my money out of that one!!
M, glad to hear Gord has some pep. Sounds like he's feeling better. Pizza looks good. Going to share the recipe?
I like the dusting idea, Katie. Trouble for me is I have an arthritic 11 year old Aussie that doesn't move anywhere very fast.
Guess I'll wash down the kitchen walls today, prepping for paint. Yuk.
Best/Worse .. what did I learn today .. welcome everyone!
shhhhhhhhhh that Good Weather thing would never come, right?
oh my, MomCat - how scary is this? Is all your vehicle id still there - driver's & vehicle registration, etc? Be aware - a car key can be made by knowing this info........plus your VIN in the car window area........
I can appreciate you putting off the cleaning....I'm sure I would, but when you do, it helps erase the stuff done, and helps you move on.
hahaha on your clean floor and the pooped pups - they're adorable when they're asleep, aren't they?!
Betty - wonderful idea on the "get well" cards lol It looks like I've been ill for a year....... ooooooopsie lol
Pups are darling!!
Oh, Betty! I'm so sorry about Kyle's job! He's such a hard worker! Shame on that man!!
Joyce - I don't want the snow either lol
It's 21 here right now - and not even 9am!
I love re-decorating, and I'll bet you'll be tired, but SO pleased when it's all done! 23 years for a microwave? wow - you really Did get your money's worth!
Marilyn - Gord's getting a positive attitude, now that he's realized the diagnosis isn't as bad as he thought - hooray for that!!
Meant to say, glad that Noah is getting his strength back. He's got a long road ahead of him. Hope Mel is on some anti-depressants. She's got way too much to worry about right now. You, too, for that matter!
I can see that kitchen done Joyce, bring in the beauty of your gardens...have to drop in next time in the neighborhood just to see it.
Speaking of being on the road, was thinking to self this morning, would've so nice to do a ROADTRIP then remembered I will in April then thought what a long time to my summer ROADTRIP with the gals, 5 months but heck we just had christmas and we are already mid February, guess that means I ought to do more planning..did check out Salem MA this morning, says from there they have a ferry to Boston..must go act and read, think it's just for people not cars..getting antsy
Hope weather co operatesnextweekend so I can go to Buffalo, few things I wouldntmind picking up..new rug for living room to match new furniture is top of my list, justgettingaway wouldbe nice..its family day long weekend, taking mom over would be nice.
Think Mel just doesn't want to be worried about noah being home for a bit..few weeks wouldn't hurt for sure.
You all must be out enjoying sunshine or cuddle in because of the weather
I decided to take all the fabric out of one of the cupboards in order to get ready for new area of cupboards and shelving..omg didn't realize I had so much fabric that complete various quilts, just need to get at them
Feel like egg salad sandwiches..was going to have have spaghetti for supper if aunt Muriel and mom came but that is a no because of weather and hurting (knees/hip), put eggs on and there sits Chinese food I didnt eat last night so I need not cook tonight..think a batch of cookies and muffins would be nice as well..
I'm not far from Chicago, NW suburbs, Des Plaines, actually, I just hate going in to the city. I got that run done, and got back home.
Searching for dogs shot records. I know 3 are due this month, and need last rabies certificate to get a 3 year shot, otherwise they'll only do a 1 year for the same cost. I put them somewhere safe last time I cleaned, I was starting a tote with all the dog records, of course I can't find it now.
Strange with the car break in, there is a little drop down mirror that swivels so you can see in the back of the van, and that was popped off its post. It's not like anything would be hidden behind it, and it just snapped back in place, but why bother? I keep watching, I don't know the people across the street that chased the guys off when they were ransacking their cars, but I'd like to talk to them and see if they know anything else, or if they were missing anything. Most of their cars have been gone since the police left.
I'm looking for suggestions, I'm just not clever enough to come up with much. My daughter's wedding shower will be next month, her fiance's sister is hosting it, but I have been asked to help. My daughter loves classic movies, and his sister wants it to be a movie themed shower. Her fiance's mother and I are doing the food, and I really have no idea. I'm looking for ideas for finger foods, appetizers, easy things that might have been popular in the late 40's 50's even 60's. Anyone have any suggestions?

Wow Betty, that was quick! I'll start looking up recipes, and see what I can do and what his mother can do. Thank you so much!!
I am here, just taking it easy today. My knee and hip are not happy today, so ice packs and heating pads are getting alternated. Just took a Vicodin, so I hope it kicks in soon!
OMG Deb!
We are neighbors, I'm in Glenview, You had mentioned before going downtown, at least I think it was you. Anyway always just thought you were somewhere far far away.
Man, thats the pits. Glad they didn't take your important items. shaking head probably looking for cash.
We had somebody breaking into cars a couple years ago, sure hope they catch the vandals.
Oh i hope you have fun planning the finger foods.
lol, coming to this realization..knocked all my thoughts from my head!
I do have to laugh, I can just see your pups rolling across the floor trying to get the wax off.
Had to really laugh at the leaf blowing idea, had a coworker who used hers to blow snow off her car.
Sue, i hope you enjoy some peace and quiet, glad you had a good visit. Will cheer Austin, hope he gets more baskets.
Betty, OMG you ain't kidding that was fast..you can type like the wind!! Lets see, Kids are coming on Thurs night or Friday morn, lol at least that's the plan...Well we've got plenty to do thats for sure. coloring books, games, reading books arts & crafts for days. Jack and i just talked yesterday we are both pretty excited. lol i don't know who is more the kids or Aunti, big big smiles here.
M, The youngest child is 7. Omg, your pies look deeliciouss!!
Barbara, Oh yay, so glad you worked a puzzle! I think they are a great way to "play" together and visit.
That is awesome, I love impromtu visits and gatherings.
Oh Dianne, wow just smiling at Deisel and Chaos. LOL, you did great getting a picture of Chaos.
alright, break is over...Waiving hi to everyone hope you enjoy the afternoon.
sigh, got to go finish this up, I want to do major dusting tomorrow. today continue with craft area/great room and work on laundry.
Sure hope everyone is having a great day.
LOL! I wish I lived a lot farther away. Absolutely hate the city and avoid it as much as possible. I just keep my location listed as NE IL because at the time there were lots of dogs being stolen, and I always posted about mine. Also had a litter of pups around the time I put that down, and always worry about anti-breeder people. Just a little overprotective, maybe, but I feel better with it that way. I work in Northbrook, and my daughter grew up taking gymnastics lessons in Glenview.
I love the leaf blower idea. There are so many times I wish I could just take a power washer to the entire inside of the house!
Betty, feel bad for Kyle .. and ... I wish him well in his job search ..
Like almost all of us, I am NOT a city person .. like my freedom .. only takes but 20 minutes to get into the rabble of the city.
Deb .. sorry to hear about the car break in ... nervy beggars ..
Had mine broken into once in the hosp parking lot while I was on nights .. about 5 of us got chosen .. Am sure the crook thought he had died and gone to heaven when he found my 2 carat 'diamond ring' in the cup holder .. a $5. cubic Zirconia LoL
Shutting er down after this email .. DH is cooking supper !! A first in weeks !!
Sleep well, stay safe .. take care
~M~
now I AM a city person. Tried living in a village once - people stopped their car in mid street to talk to someone on the sidewalk, and I'm behind them, waiting for them to Move On! lol tiny village with 12 churches (each a different denomination.......). I need the proximity of stuff (NEVER go downtown), so I guess I'm a "community person". Having a car helps, but I mostly go into communities in the NE (where I live) or the NW(not far cuz I'm the west part of the NE) I love my neighbourhood......
Oh Betty - hope that Kyle gets another job. Good that he's young :-)
Marilyn - Gord's cooking? He must be feeling better - so glad!
You sure do keep expensive jewellery in your car!! lol
Hi everyone!
Dang for Kyle, I feel for him. What profession is he in again Betty? So glad Kyle can get out of bed by himself now! No matter how it is!
What cute pups!! So sorry about your car, that sucks, I bet you feel violated. Glad the neighbors across the street busted them!
My sweet sister Sue enjoy the quiet!
Lol M, my mom had her house broken into, they took all her jewelry, the only real diamond she owns was on her finger. They also got a box that her husband's handgun was in when he bought it, but the box was empty, the gun was locked in the gun safe.
Well I'm in the middle of cooking mushroom pork chops & need to start the sides.
Waving to everyone else!!
Morning all
Love the country, dread it when I have to go to the city..fine for sightseeing but anything else I try to avoid it.
Judy, it's called 'cut and paste' lol. Sounds like you have all the basis covered Judy for the little ones, they will remember their visit, now let's hope weather cooperates.
Sue, sometimes the quiet dull life is just whatnot need, glas Austin won the game.
LindaKay, did the Vicodin help? Got to tell you when I get to the flea market in fort Myers come April first purchase will be bio freeze spray and gel
Sure hoping Dianne wasn't without power for long, lucky she has a generator to help..Dianne what can you rin on it, is it the one that turns on when hydro goes off?
Debbie watched the news last night, you got much of the same weather as we did, maybe even a little worse..
Katie, what new is blooming, now that furries have done your dusting you will have time to sit and enjoy.😛 but I think you can't just sit, much like I
-25 brrr, not snowing yet, just a skim of snow so don't have to shovel, that itself is good news
Was going to run into town, few things I want in town but have to wait until Timbrr delivers my order, in the meantime I will play in craft room hoping I don't find any unfinished projects..yesterday's had fun making two totes with fabrics I found cut for wallets etc, add a few coordinating pieces and voila, tote bags
Timer going, made muffins for us,had intended to do so yesterday but thatyouwould enjoy them more this morning
What do you all have planned for the day
"M" meant to ask, did Gord lose his touch re cooking or was the meal spectacular? lol
Bet he enjoyed getting back to doing things he hasn't done in a bit..progress for sure..
two totes I did yesterday, they fill in the day and are mindless projects as I've done so many of them
no cleaning to do so might grab a scrap bag and see what I can come up with
Expecting the last of this latest bout of snow. Supposed to get 12-18 inches. Right now we are at about 10 and it is to snow all day today. I won't be able to see out my windows much longer!!
We are so excited. We filed our income taxes last Sunday, it was accepted by IRS on Monday and the refund was in our account on Saturday!!!!! Never dreamed we would get it that quickly...
We have several changes to be made here now that we have lived here for a year and a half. We know what is too big and what needs to be changed. Now that the refund is here - I can go shopping!!!! First change is a new kitchen set. I have a large Ceramic tiled kitchen pedestal table that can open up to seat 8. That is going to our daughter and we are getting a smaller drop leaf table big enough for Norm and I with leaves that can be raised if needed. That will be the beginning. Then a smaller computer desk too but maybe next month...So I will be busy this week purging and tossing and getting stuff together to go to Goodwill......
Yes, meds helped a lot. Got a good night's sleep.
Love those totes Betty.
Hiya :-)
Up n at'em ..
Taking Zoey to be groomed this morning, then off shopping and to get Zoey and Lilly a birthday cake ..
Zoey will be 7 and Lilly 8 tomorrow .. wee Piper boy is the BABY at 5yr old.
Cold here as well Betty, no snow ..
Glad the meds worked LindaKay ..
Barb how nice your taxes were quick .. I dread having ours done .. in Canada they are due in at the end of April.
A Seniors Centre here will do them for a 'donation' .. better than $160. at a private place !
OOOOOOOoooooo .. love Mauve/purple in the Tote !!
Best get movin
TOODLES
~M~
Betty, both totes are lovely but the purple one is my favorite. Do they have pickets on the outside? Do you put any sort of stiffener in the sides or bottom to keep them standing up?
Barb great news about the refind! I havent started my taxes yet but I have been gathering the forms. I'm drowning in paper right now but am hoping to get some time next weekend to start the process. So much, good and bad going on so far this year and just cant bear to look at the computer after working 10-12 hours day during the work week.
I give you all kudos for your energy and stamina. I have a lot of ideas and the urge to do many projects but reality gets in the way, and i cant imagine doing anything outside, even shoveling in temps of less than 0!
Barb, I did my taxes on Feb 1st and just got my refund deposited this morning. I'm just amazed at how quickly that arrived. I still have to file my state taxes, for whatever reason Illinois isn't accepting on line filing, yet. Website says their concerned about identity theft. With all the crooks in Springfield, I don't know why they're only worried about that.
You guys are all in the 'bucks' yippee, some shopping going on
Barb sure wish I lived closer, am sure some of your fabrics/craft supplies being purged would come and fill the new cupboard I'll soon have done
Teri, meant to ask, the girls I do a yearly Roadtrip with (most have met them- characters they are) will be spending a day in Boston this summer, I've been a lot decades ago, anything spectacular you'd recommend. After working that many hours no wonder you don't feel like taking on a project.
LindaKay, will have to ask Dr. about vicadin (?)
"M"those furries sure are spoilt
Vicodin (acetaminophen and hydrocodone) http://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-3459/vicodin-oral/details
Betty, here is a link to more info. With it having tylenol, you need to be careful if you have liver problems.
Can you image if we all lived closer, we could raid each others craft areas for supplies, and or ideas! Seems like one of us is always cleaning, purging... One mans junk is another's treasure!!!
Thanks LindaKay, right now I'm on Tylenol3 with codeine..works but doesn't get me through the night pain free..doing a lot of spraying before I go to bed, during the night, in the morning..
Well I'm not purging, I'm using
joking with the gals, if I finish everything and use up what fabric I have I'll have Christmas 2015 and 2016 done
Not much will help with joint pain, such as knees and hips, but it will help you relax to get a decent nights sleep.
That reminds me of my girlfriends' dad. his name was Jack Coliope. He had a tee shirt that said on the front..."Jack's Junk" on the back, "Coliope Collectables". I thought it was really cute.
Bertie, Sherry and I are doing lunch and a movie today. We're going to see "American Sniper". Should be fun.
Love the totes, Betty. You should sell them and get some US fun money! I know I'd buy!!
Just watched Live with Kelly and Michael. They're so fun to watch. Always makes me smile. Guess I better get moving!
I just read this on Facebook, on Debbies page.... Debbie, I hope your are not hurt too bad!
"Going outside and walking in snow...no problem. Playing on ice in driveway...no problem.
Inside where it's safe and warm....falling down a flight of stairs on my A$$....OUCH. Now I need to pack myself in the snow for an ice pack.
Princess Grace....not"
Make sure you bring tissues when you go to the movie. I have heard it is an awesome movie, but a tear jerker!
I've heard that, too, LK. Have them in my purse already!!
Betty - Terri is in So. Boston, Virginia not Massachusetts.... Just sayin"
Betty - lovely totes! 2015 AND 2016.......... yeah, I could see it! What are you spraying with, for pain? I use Muscle Mist - awesome stuff!
oh Debbie........ ouchies!! Need to wrap you in crash pads! LK - thanks for posting
LK - we really actually DO live pretty close to each other - can you imagine......... before the internet, how far we lived away?!?!?!
Thanks barb, yes Betty sorry to say, I'm in Virginia. The people who named this place didn't have much imagination, I guess, I am always confusing people with the town name.
Susan, I agree, I am glad we have internet to bring us all closer!
yeah, we have a circle of friends we Never would have met otherwise...... although I sometimes curse computers for addicting us, I bless the day I met my friends on chats of all kinds!!
Linda Kay thank you for updating for me. I could not move last night.
Yes, I did a Betty big time. I have no idea how I did it, hit the landing on the middle of the stairs and hit every step with a body part on the way down. Head only hurts if I touch it. Shoulder blade and my buttcheek are in major pain. Good thing purple is my favorite color.
Snow still falling, and the snow blower quit on DH at 4:30 this morning, so only half of driveway
done. I do NOT plan on leaving the house today.
Be safe everyone.
Debbie
OUCH, Debbie........... good thing you're not leaving the house. Keep safe & warm. Are you planning to go to the Dr for an x-ray?
