I agree with Cindy. She is beautiful.
Rm 303 "Sweet Interruptions" Hotel
Wow 21 already. where does it go ? great pic
Judy yes i can wait. You want the books you can have them.
sorry to hear the family is being " a cut above the rest " hehehehe sorry had to say it. love you.
pot roast sounds good. they had buy one get one free at Krogers today. i didn't get any.
Cindy handsome guy. wow your going to be busy with all those goodies for the garden.
Pegi i think we have all had a Mrs. Ollsen in our lives LOL . they are the pits aren't they.
Sue Taynor!!!! You make me laugh gurl at Judy's expense!!! A cut above the rest??? Lolol.. that's a good one!!
On the other hand, so sorry Judy that you have to play nurse to your beloved DH and Jake. Read to them Dom DeLuise, they need the warm feeling. Yes, i am yet to read all his books, what an amazing talent he had.
Pegi.. cooking with wine :D You go sister! I always add wine to my pot roast. I could never finish a whole bottle by myself, beef and wine goes well together. Check this out sister. Ina Garten's a great cook and her recipes are easy to follow, you won't need a maid.
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/beef-bourguignon-recipe.html
Susan, I'm through with basting turkey. Easiest way for me is to slice turkey in half right down the middle of the breast bone and cook the pieces in a turkey roasting bag. Moist all the time.
Cookie and Cindy... you both don't look you have grandbabies above 13!
Yes Cookie, I agree, she's a looker.
Barb, hope you're not snowed in.
Karen, sending hugs and expressing my relief here that you have a great family that will be there for you.
I can't believe it only posted half of my murmurings!!!
Shall finish this up here.. brother Ernie, have you ever consider selling your bondominiums online? Mass produced birdhouses don't have character like yours.
LizH, did you get some snow? No snow here but cold enough for me. 14 may be nothing to complain about, its still new to me when I have to wear 4 layers of clothing!! Bad enough I'm a slow dresser, now it takes me another 20 minutes to dress for church!
Talked to LK much earlier and she and Todd were about to chow down in San Antonio!! I was so hoping it would be brisket, but they chose Asian.
Read that Cookie.. yes I miss your brisket!!
Okay, third installment!! Lolol.. the devil is testing my patience.
Yes the phone has been replaced but with an old Princess line phone. Remember the 80s? He got it from a friend refusing to buy another. Think he's checking on me whether I have some stash hidden. I will tolerate it.
One prayer answered.
Kel had been dumped two weeks ago! Good part is he doesn't know that I knew.
A church sister's sister's bf is Connor's neighbour. (follow me so far). He recognised Kelvin's truck, with the business decal on the doors! He couldn't understand what the blazes was Kelvin doing at her house almost every evening. Then two weeks ago, he 'reported' that her ex had returned and Kelvin had disappeared.
Kelvin now realised he had been made a fool. She's after money and hi8s mother and I had been telling him that Connor will beg her husband to return as he makes triple the amount.
No.. he thought his offer of love is enough? She won't take his broke ass!!
I haven't told his mother yet as I know Jesus isn't finished with Kelvin.
A few days ago, it was revealed to me the real reason why Kelvin kicked his ex wife and step daughters out.
He always said the split was amicable.
During the time he had to be with his brother in an out of town hospital, he met a woman whose son was roomed next door.
He had an affair with her, kicked Patti out, then proposed to her to move in with him.
The joke's on him as she turned him down saying she's not moving her business and her son comes first.
If I had known this, yes... I won't agree to come here.
But it's too late, and I still love him.
He has been a tad nicer, but still holds the purse strings. Connor left him so deeply in debt that I found out a local store is taking him to court.
His credit score is pathetic now.. me not working with a much higher score than him? You know that's sad.
With prayers from you all and my family and other friends, our Lord Jesus has been carrying me through dark times. I am still laying Kelvin at His altar.
No, I won't tell him that I knew about him being dumped, until he is back to where Jesus wants him to be.
I don't feel sorry for him being truly broke now.
Good night, and I am still carrying all my sisters in my prayers. Sis Kathy.... chin up sis.. Lord will heal you.
Hello all, I'm trying to sound upbeat. I am getting cabin fever. Haven't been out since Bible study on the 11th. Don't know if I have told you, I live on a unpaved road that is 1 1/4 miles from the main road and I don't drive in snow.
The closest neighbor is about 1 mile. so don't have traffic up here to wear down the snow. I am the last one on this road. Tractor is broke down. Friend said he will have it fixed before spring.
All my children want me to move off this mountain but I'm not ready. My DH and I built this house. He died in 2008.
Seems so many here on DG is sick or hurting or have had or going to have surgery. I'm keeping you all in my prayers. Hoping spring comes soon. Yes Jaye, I have about 6 -7 inches snow and hate it. Hugs.
Morning everyone. I am back home.
Jaye I was with Andy and the family, I had to go to San Antonio for a follow up Dr. visit. They are still trying to figure out what is wrong with my shoulder, back and hip. I had an MRI done on my lower back, and it showed curvature of the spine, an small cyst, and arthritis, but the new pain Dr. told me he wants an MRI of the hip, so he knows what he is dealing with, so I have to lay on that hard table for another hour, but this time, I will take my pain meds first.
Call me when you get the chance, so I can talk longer to you. I love hearing your voice.
I met up with Joeswife/Debra, from Kansas. She was in San Antonio visiting family that just moved there, so we met up at the river walk at Dicks last resort, we had so much fun!
My hat say's I've handle more wieners than a hot dog vendor, and Debra's says, Who hasn't hit this!
Please keep Karen in your prayers, as she has had another heart attack. She is in the hospital, waiting on surgery, as she has been on blood thinners. I sent her a message this morning, and gave her my phone number, just in case she wanted to talk to someone, this was her reply....
Thank you Linda, had a pretty ugly night. They have me in I C U. They gave me so many blood thinners that blood was coming out of me everywhere.Gave me a bunch of blood. Did another scope and found nothing. Was vomiting blood all night, was a mess. Still haven't seen dr. to see what's next. Very upset had a break down. Tired.
poor Karen.......... I hope the meds get through her system quickly so they can get on with the surgery.... Not surprised she had a breakdown with all she's been through. When you talk to her, tell her I send her warm, gentle hugs......
I'm off to get pictures taken of my car - they need 'em, duct tape and all. Good thing both car & duct tape are silver lol
Once they have the pictures, they'll have a better time frame to have the repairs done - sending pics to the Insurance company.
Well, off I go
Very sorry to hear Karen had another heart attack. I definitely will keep her in my prayers. I feel so close to her, maybe it is the age thing. I see the cardiologist on Monday, still don't why I have to see him, but there has to be a reason. Got to remember to have my blood work done for my primary doctor. Been gaining weight and I thought if I was skinny most of my life I still should be skinny. Learned life doesn't work that way. (((((Hugs)))))
Son got out lawn mower and hope he gets it running. The little rain we did get sure made the grass (mostly weeds) grow. Wondered why it wasn't starting, seems a lizard thought it was a good place to hide, well lizard no more. Glad I didn't see it as I would have gotten sick. I feel terrible because my lawn is the only one that is so overgrown. Now if I can get the flower beds cleaned out I'll be satisfied for a little while.
My lawn (a small one) is mowed and edged, now we aren't an eye sore to the neighborhood.
Jaye so glad you are posting and I'm smiling at the "dumped" Kel. Some good karma coming.
Once I browned the roast on both sides and added garlic, thyme, beef broth, onions, salt & pepper I brought it to a simmer then covered it and put in oven for 3 hours, added carrots and potatoes and baked for another hour. Since I'm only cooking for myself these days that made a lot of pot roast. I will freeze some for later. Don't know why I didn't try recipes like this a long time ago. I don't care to cook so that was a big surprise on my part. Jaye, I'm not about to spent a lot of time preparing a roast, and of course I should buy only a small one. Next time the urge hits me I'll try the crock pot. Going to use some of the shredded beef for tacos, sounds so good to me.
Where is Marion, I miss her not posting? Keeping Karen in prayers, sure glad she does have that large family to see her through this.
Jaye!! Quietly smiling here.... Aren't paybacks great??
Oh no! So sad to hear about Karen. Hope they can get help for her situation FAST!
Jaye throw Kevins sorry butt way out in the weeds.
I am wrestling with the d or not to d and can't figure it out I am so tired I am ready to quit fighting at all. i
Don't give up Ernie. You have a wonderful family to live for.
Hello family.
Again, I posted a novel, and it disappeared :(
Guess I have go make all my postings short just like the last ones.
Echoing LK's words, please, DON't GIVE UP!! You are one man that is very valued to us all here too! Since you showed up here, your words have lifted so many. And your awesome garden, kitchen and craftwork, let us continue to envy you!!
LizH, still no snow here, but am expecting some next week. Are the bread shelves emptied where you're at when snow's expected?
Your kids are expressing the right thoughts. Of course they want their mama close by. And I understand too your reluctance to leave. That's your home and you feel your DH's presence all around.
How wonderful LK that you get to meet Debra! She seems like a very nice lady.
Sorry to read that besides your back, you're facing hip problem too. Dear sister, you'd soon have a store of painkillers!! Kidding.. but be careful and don't lift anything!! Not even Dylan.
Smile away sisters at Kelvin's foolishness. He's really been taken for a ride. Then today, I found a mail for TOny Connor, her DH, in Kel's truck. It's one of those reward programs from Marriot Hotel. Apparently Jeannie C. still has a credit card under her husband's name and used it for their liasons. Kel doesn't have a cc with enough $$. Yes, I could confront him, but instead, I brought it to church, showed the church sister that had told me of the dumping.
She opened it up and it seems like old mail.
I still won't tell his mum, for Kelvin still wants to abandon us. AND he's such a smooth liar..
God will do what's best for me, and the devil will destroy Kel if he continue to move away from Jesus.
Cookie, thank you so much for believing me that Kel has changed. I know it's hard when he puts on such a believable act at BJ's. Look, I've been fooled for years.
Pegi, you must react differently from me when you're under emotional stress. Probably too you're beginning to enjoy the foods again that you won't cook for Darwin..
Thank God it's not an iguana but a lizard!! Lolol.. you'd be calling animal control.
Areas close to the bayous, or the Everglades, residents sometimes get surprise alligators visits.
Huggs back Pegi. Tell your son please that we appreciate his help.
Barb I hope you have a great warm weekend.
Siue. any more lip from Savannah?
Susan, may you get reasonable quotes for the repairs/
Still praying for everyone here and tonight, for evening service, there was a bluegrass music performance. Kel's cousin showed up and he was surprised that for the umpteenth time, he doesn't see me with Kel anymore. Could see his raised eyebrows.!! He happened to work the morning shift on the shift Kel is on. I am sure he'd be asking.
Lord there I go again, consume with thoughts of the repugnant man.. sorry sisters.
Just remember Jaye, what goes around, comes around. I pray daily that HE will turn Kel's life around, and it will happen in HIS time.
Yes, my hip and shoulder is messed up. So far they have just shot it with steroids, assuming it is just old age, or maybe bursitis. I have orders for an MRI of my hip i need to schedule this week.
Sending hugs and prayers to Karen. Sending healing energy and thoughts to her.
Jaye ,,,,, what can i say........don't be sorry . He hurt you, you need to talk, we are hear for you.
Ernie don't give up. I know the fight is worse then the D , isn't it ? but please keep fighting it.
Pegi i was thinking of making some pot roast also. You make it sound so yummy.
well i had a nice weekend with Tom. Tim came home friday and Tom and I headed out back to his place. Went to a club and went dancing. We both enjoy dancing.
Lots of snow here . we got a snow storm on saturday. My car only got stuck once LOL .
Kids have dentist tomorrow and Austin has basketball. Gosh i can't wait for this basketball to be over ! We have been doing it since Nov ?? !
the tournament starts on tuesday, so late nights this week and games all weekend. I also have to volunteer for the games too. stand at the door collect admission ... uhg !
Hugs, Hugs, Hugs all around for all of you.
Jaye - I don't have to pay a thing for the car repairs.
The ignition tumbler was a recall from last February - thank goodness it's fixed now.
The accident from Jan 4th was entirely the other fellow's fault and his insurance will pay for everything. I don't have to pay a deductible, and don't have to pay for the rental either. I just have to wait for it to be done, and in the meantime it's drivable.
Good to see you posting your "novels" lol God will take care of you (geeze, that sounds like the lead-in to a son we know, right?)
Karen - soft, warm, gentle hugs for you.
Ernie - bless you, we really enjoy you being here
Morning everyone. Cold here too. right at 32 degree's, windshield had ice on it this morning when hubby went to work!
I'll make coffee to go with that banana bread.
Thank you - I"ll have the coffee, pls
Good Morning Ladies,
Today is the trimming of the Big Oak...yay!!! I will be taking pictures. Then Wednesday I can start rototilling the garden, mostly the Asparagus patch as my plants will be here sometime this week :) Hope every one has a Blessed Day
Good luck with the tree removal, be careful!
Hugs all around. Special prayers going up for Karen.
Hang in there, Jaye.
Ernie....how about you tell us a story? I love the way you have with words.
It was a mess here Saturday. Finally ran to the store yesterday as Cayenne was out of food. Can't have that!! The kitties are all off their feed. I'm beginning to think they have Spring Fever!!
COLDER HERE NOW THAN AT 8 AM.
have a wonderful time on my vacation, bought a new Polaris 4 wheeler. it is blue fire and is real pretty. will show pix of my vacation later.
How many kitties do you have Cookie?
Kathy, so glad to hear you had a vacation! Can't wait to see your new 4 wheeler.
🙀 bushing here....I have 6. Riley ( Ragdoll), Neekie (black and a little white with some Siamese), Bella (gray tabbie scardy cat), Moxie (bad girl! calico, oldest daughter of Neeky), FiFi (black and sweetheart girl also a scarey cat, daughter of Neeky) and Smokey (my pride and joy sweetest kitty EVER, little boy littermate of FiFi.)
Picture above is Smokey and Neeky. They cuddle together a lot. Sometimes FiFi joins in, too. FiFi's original name was Funny Face, but I decided that was mean, so she became FiFi.
Riley,Moxie, Bella, FiFi and Smokey. Not in order. Why do they switch around when you hit send? First one is Bella. Last one is FiFi.

AWE! They are so cute.
Yeah, no cavities for the kids!
You would never catch me in a tree like that! Did any of it hit your home while it came down? The tree looks so close to the house!
Nope they did a real good job of hoisting it down, but there are a lot of small branches in the fish ponds, I knew that would happen. Oh well they will get a good cleaning next month or so when it warms up a bit.
That was pretty quick! Make sure you let that wood get nice and dry before you burn it. Green wood is pretty nasty in the fireplace.
Love the redwood tree and the daffodil!
They started about 930 this morning they are out front throwing all the smaller stuff into the wood chipper, will go out in a few and see how big the mulch pile is. it's now 2:22. They got another job, people saw them in the tree and ask them to come look at trees they want done. $725 to trim up the oak, plus they are trimming up one out by drive way for $25. Look at the size of my mulch pile :)
That is a lot of mulch.
I know, some of the pieces are kind of big but with the garden ground being red clay dirt I think it will help it a lot. So glad it's done, lol. Wednesday is my daughter's 40th b-day ( OMG!!! I'm getting OLD ) mom and I are cooking her dinner, it's what she wants. So I told her for her birthday present I am going to plant her flower garden for her. So I have to measure it and figure out how many plants I'm going to need and they ALL have to be drought tolerant because she does not water that often lol
