Best/worse/what did I learn today?chat with friends old&new

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Katie, thank you. That make me feel great to find move forward and apologize. Sorry it too so long.

Marilyn, yes I am the Sharon with the two schnauzers and the DH with Parkinson. He just turned 82 Feb. 1. I am nursing a back pain problem because I was lifting his wheel chair into the back of my SUV and should have stopped and stated over but did not. Have been paying for it for over a month. Been having therapy and it is much better but still cannot garden. And we have had perfect gardening weather. California is currently getting some rain. So badly needed.

Crissy, if that was my flower bed the first thing I would be dong is make it 10 x bigger. That is a sickness I have. I have promised myself I will not do that anymore.

I am 72 and I had the shingle shot when I was 65 and I have also had the pneumonia shots (2).

In our family, the kids & I all have immune system deficiencies. It is called Hypogammaglobulinemia.....yes a real word!!! Something I guess I shared
that I didn't know I had. SO, from age 1 for DS.....and 2 for DD....they get pneumoccal ever few years. Me too.

SO, if you find yourself with respiratory infections frequently, and find yourself sick when someone sneezes within a mile radios....think about getting one.

not much going on here.
feeling a bit better. I m sure i will be back to normal by next week. The show really took a lot out of me.
Heading down to see Tom on saturday.
Austin has basketball one saturday at 1;00 and sunday at 5:00 I hate the late one's.
savannah has a friend over so the girls are doing what young girls do. talking about boys and how annoying they are. LOL.
took kids to the mall , Austin got new pants. i got a skirt.
I also got Tom a gold chain with a cross. for Valentines day
other then that its the usual here.

They won't give me a pneumonia shot even with the bronchitis & pneumonia issues from being borderline asthmatic, they say I'm too young, you have to be 60.

I don't know why some months have 2 birthstones?

Morning everyone.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I disabled my laptop touch pad thing, I'd be typing away and my thumb would touch the pad, and, BYE BYE to what I was typing, or, the page would jump up, or, down .. much prefer my beat up mouse pad and wireless mouse :-)

Crissy, I think that garden will lend itself nicely to Lillies, or, Iris, or, BOTH .. like Sharon I'd be expanding the garden and cursing myself for having done so when weeding was needed ..

Sharon, I do so hope your back responds to treatment .. I haven't had to lift Lornas wheelchair for about 3 years now as she uses a rollator walker, or, canes .. I went to move it with the brakes on this morning and lifted the back end up and was astonished at how heavy it is !! Take care ..

Had the back patio area to shovel first thing this morning .. I think it looks like we got about 2 inches of snow ..
Waiting for DH to get up .. I gave him a half a valium last night to see if that would give him a good nights sleep. It appears to have worked .. he's usually up by now ..

DUMP day, my fave day .. N O T !!!!!!!!!!!! Has to be done, so, I'll suck it up Buttercup ..
I think Lorna and I are going to watch either Beaches, or, Fried Green Tomatoes today sometime ..
Am making the 'cauliflower crust pizza' for supper, will letcha know how it turns out :-)

Hope Betty is OK .. hi Dianne and everyone

TOODLES

Morning everyone.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That birthstone page is interesting, it's changed since I was a kid. My November birthstone was Topaz and it was a yellow/gold per color, never heard of Citrine before. My mom's August was Emerald, Dads June was Pearl, Papa's was January Ruby, Granny was December Turquoise. We always looked them and their meanings up.

I just Google "Old School Birthstones" and here's what they were http://www.amazon.com/Set-Star-Birthstones-Floating-Lockets/dp/B00JPPVC9O

I'll just stick with my pearl as I do love them. My kids are two born in Jan. and two born in May. My mothers ring looks like Christmas with garnets and emeralds.
