Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I', always huggin people .. got an overdose of it yesterday fer sure.
Cripes, I even hugged the funeral director, we went through high school together, hadn't seen him in forever .. GAWD he's a BIG man, well over 6"5" and goes about 350ibs, and , SOLID as a rock !! Plus, he's nice, quirky sense of humour ...
Anyway, I'm not sure what happened, but .. you can't go backwards, so, lets trudge on ahead .. thinking positive thoughts and lotsa luv :-)

We have a day that MAY see us with a temp in the PLUS category .. wahoo !!!
I knew if I got my car washed it'd snow !!!

Trying to rent 'Still Alice' with Julianne Moore .. am thinking it's not going to be released for renting until later this year .. gonna Google it ..

Hope everyone has a splendiferous day, YAY for Joel :-)

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm in on the hug too. For each and every one of you.

How wonderful for Joel!!!! Glad to read about him this morning.

Hope Noah is doing well also.

My Callie is still hanging in there. Her eating has dropped considerably but she is eating and using her box though no where near as often as she did. We spend a good part of each day just petting and talking to her and, yes, she just eats it up!!!!

~~~Waving to all this morning~~~ and off to do my breathing machine.
Barb glad to hear Callie is still hanging on. She knows she is loved . Sending warm thoughts to you.
I just started my java.
Warm hugs to all who need or want them. Goodness knows I've had some need lately too. My Sisters of the Heart help me through.
Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)
Karen, how's things with your heart/chest cold?
Hope everything is as expected ..
Barb, Smokey is now eating 'flakes of ham', and, a cat milk chaser .. .. sleeps lots, and we cuddle him when we ca, and talk goofy talk to him LoL
I think all pet owners talk ,'goofy talk' .. our dogs eat it up ..
Still futzing around, not doing much of anything.
Made the Blue Jays VERY happy by throwing out Gordon's stale peanuts .. he won't even notice ..
Best make the beds and get dressed to head into town ..
SAY .. has anyone made the pizza with the cauliflower crust ? I'm gonna try it this weekend.
Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)
M, how is Gord?
Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)
"M" I don't have a cold, have a dry cough most likely from one of the meds. Saw my primary yesterday, she had taken me off Lisinopril last June as she felt it was not good for my kidneys. Heart Dr. put me back on in the hospital even though I told him I was taken off it. Yesterday primary took me back off and put me on another she felt wouldn't bother my kidneys nor cause a cough. I see Cardio on the 19th so we'll see what he does. Feel like I'm on a medicine merry-go-round. I carry my drug list printed on business size cards, not printing new ones until Drs. get done messing with me.
I'm not having chest pain at all for the first time in months. That's a huge relief. Cardio told me in hospital I needed to learn to differenciate between pains even though they felt the same and were in the same spot. I just said OK I won't go to hospital any more until I vomit, break out in a sweat, and can't move my arms. That's when i know for sure it's my heart. Sheesh.
Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)
I hope you're teasing.... 😩
Jeepers creepers, where is everyone ..
LAST wknd was Super Bowl Wknd :-)
Joyce .. Gord is, shall we say, getting along, i'm not too sure is he doesn't have a really LOW pain threshold .. never having had shingles, I don't know ..
But, he went out today for about 4 hours with his cronies and to do some shopping .. came home and he was whacked ..
Fed him and he slept most of the afternoon ..
I think he is everso SLOWLY regaining his strength though ..
Haven't seen the new Oncologist yet ..
Maybe Betty went to Buffalo ?
Hope Noah is OK ..
Supper was Swiss Chalet early .. everyone is on their own for a snack later .. LOVE it !!
Stay sweet everyone
I talked to Betty, she is OK.....she didn't want the stress of here with the disagreement.
She has enough going on in her life....so she is taking a break.
She is tired....but FINE.
Hugs to everyone
Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)
Well, if you speak to her, please let her know we love and miss her.
Dropping in with a quick 'hi'
In bed, cold meds in my tummy
Tomorrow's another day!
Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)
So glad to see you, dear.
Today was a fun day!! Yesterday I got finished taking all the kitchen border down. Today I wanted to get in to something else! So started taking the ceramic tile backsplash down. Well, I started but quickly found out I wasn't any good at it. But....it's always good to be married to a jack of all trades. Bill stepped up and got it off. I was on cleanup patrol! Just have a little more to do but he's going to have to drywall behind the stove cause the plaster came along with the tile when he took it off.
He said I hope you're not having people here any time soon! I said MARCH!! So wish me luck ladies!
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
Hi y'all! TGIF to those who care! Lol! I start training Monday at 8, am so excited!
Barb I'm glad Callie is hanging in!
M glad Gord got out and about today. I've heard from David Letterman when he had shingles, he said he had never felt pain like that in his entire life, so it has to be really bad. Think I'm going to get a shot when I get insurance.
Betty hope Noah is feeling better!
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
Now, my post posted twice. Lol
Crissy, my Dr. Told me, no shingles shot till I turn 60. I get one in June.
Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)
Ohmigosh Joyce .. I feel your angst re the plaster thing .. I would lose it totally .. and likely I'd be looking to hire someone to repair it .. Gord is NOT a jack of all trades .. he's a 'collector'!
Best of luck to ya ..
Awwww.. hate to hear that Betty is upset .. sometimes a break is a good thing ..
Time to get a load of laundry in the washing machine for the morning...
Night all
~M~
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
Oh well LK I guess no shot yet. I'm OK with that! Lol
I have to do laundry too. I think I'll wait til tomorrow, it's dig up rose rootballs tomorrow anyway.
Joel just went to bed, now I'm sitting here going DUUUHHHHHHH what so I do now??" Lol!!
Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)
I keep begging for the shingles shot but not allowed to get it. I'm scared to death of getting shingles.
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
Why won't they give it to you?
Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)
This is a message oto all of you from Mother Winter.
Katie and I got into it a few years back. And it was over identifying a seed pod. I was in a very dark place at the time and I nailed Katie. We went back and forth for a few days and our thread ended up getting cancelled by Admin. I feel I was 90% in the wrong because I just kept hitting her blind side. So I apologize to Katie for being such a butt head. My dark place I was in I hope to never return. And a plead with all of you to let this go and lets just have fun.
Our temperatures here the last two weeks have been in the mid 70s and same for next week.
I am now my DH's full time caregiver so I mainly lurk but I follow you and your happy days and sad days, daily.
I just wanted to put my two cents in so Katie and Sue could tell that this thread is to important to to many individuals. Been there, done that.
Katie, sorry it has taken me so long to say I am sorry. I have been thinking about it for months.
Later, I am going to walk the dogs before it cools down. It is getting ready to move into the high 60s. Heheheheheh
Sharon
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Crissy, why are you digging up roses?
Karen, how come you're not allowed to get the shot?
mulege, Mexico
Thank you, Sharon. I'm glad to let it go as it has been a source of pain to me (not anger -pain). I'm crying as I write this. It's hard to see someone's name and be reminded of hostilities.
I'm glad you're doing better.
hugs, katie
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)
I don't think she's old enuff, LK?!?!?! I thought I saw she had to be 60 and she's not that yet lol
Sharon - how wonderful of you to apologize - I can attest to the fact that it's never too late to apologize :-) I see that Sue's posting, I hope that Katie is lurking and will be back into the Group Hug too - we all need one, now and then, to remind ourselves of the LOVE in our thread.
Just got home from a funeral for Anne (lovely, well-attended, and the family was so thoughtful to the ladies of the church - thanking us for doing the lunch, etc.)
Another funeral, this time for Wilma, tomorrow.
This morning we ladies were making sandwiches for both funerals....... I'm tuckered out, and glad we don't need to do this all over again - it's DONE phew
Went to the Post Office afterwards, to mail off 2 parcels to Canada, and three to US - LK & Katie - you have parcels on the way! (the other three are my daughter; our grandson (the baby blanket I knit) and a friend (she's been looking for her marbles, so I sent her a package of 'em lol)
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)
yaaaaaaaaay our Katie's BACK! you dear, sweet lady! You had me worried!
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
LK they were diseased 8-10 year old knockout roses. I hated them so I cut them to the ground. Now that we've had rain, then snow, I want to take the roots out and plant a lily bed. It's very small, just a bed beside my tool shed. I'm trying to attach a pic...
Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)
Sharon .. about 6weeks ago I could NOT get YOU off my mind .. I kept thinking about the Daves member for Las Vegas named Sharon whose DH had Parkinsons, I even asked about you in the thread .. it is so great to see you posting ..
How is your DH, and your dogs (Schnauzers I think)?
Shingles vaccines cannot be given to someone who has certain conditions that effect their immune system ..
DH doesn't need to have one for 5 years now as he has likely got an immunity .. after watching Gord go through this bout, well, I sure do NOT want them .. maybe someone can develop a pill you can take, instead of a SHOT .. YIKES !!!
So, one more outsie with the troops, then in to scare my butt off watching Criminal Minds
Again .. nigh night
~M~
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
Well my phone won't do it. Gggrrrr.....
