Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

really glad to hear you got to visit Noah, Betty.
of course he looks white and all those other things - last you saw him, he was hale & healthy. Full of piss & vinegar!
Now,he's a scared little boy who's been terribly hurt - physically & emotionally. Glad to hear he has a psychiatrist to help him through this. He's angry.......

................. Judy just so you know. you did the right thing. I m sorry to hear of your cousin committing suicide, those people suffer emotional demons only they understand. I have know several people who have attempted and also died. Such tragic news always.
A young man who goes to the High School that i went to, commited suicide last week. Always sad.

mulege, Mexico

Sorry if my comments about suicide offended anyone. I've dealt with so many suicide attempts and successful ones that I've hardened my heart to them.

Also, my remarks were specifically meant as one possible way for Judy to respond to her cousins manipulations. A manipulate back, if you will.

katie

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I was not offended, katie
Suicide is, unfortunately, a fact of life among all ages and demographics

Glenview, IL

Oh, Please don't be sorry for any of the comments, I do understand everyone's take.
LOL, When i first read through them i was kinda giggling, I should have let you all at her!
But hearing what each of you are telling me is what i love because you each have such a great way of being loving and straight forward, as a matter of fact and still toss in a few giggles, Plus give Armwraps in the process.

Sue, i am sorry to hear about your friend...lost a few in the same manner.

You know, is funny because had she just came out and asked if I would come, i probably would have gone.
...With the intent on seeing my family. But she has just got to put me on the spot, and just won't except no.

Thanks for the Armwraps Moonbeam, lol smiled at your she can take the bus!

katie, I totally understood your post...you have nothing to apologize for, i really appreciate your opinion.

My view on suicide is kind of weird. sigh, nothing can ever be an easy thought for me.
But i agree on the Reason, if it is to get attention, pffft I won't even go there, and you are right in this case Katie. because from what i got out of it was for just that...

Oh my gosh, I have a massive headache, all day just pound, pound.

Sue, Thanks for puttin up your dukes for me! As i was reading, I had to giggle to, I was like woah an angry bee!

Everyone, Thanks for getting angry with and for me.

Ok, I gotta go find some ibprophin!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hang in there Judy. We are all with you.... Dancin' and singin'....

Thinking you must be home or near home by now Betty. You need to get some rest dear heart. Now that you have seen and spoken to Noah, you should be able to relax a bit. A good night's sleep is just the ticket.
Keeping Noah and all of you in my prayers for healing and peace....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Wow I'm caught up!! Whew!
Debbie you're probably right about the blood in the lungs, and I know without a doubt he has pneumonia, probably double pneumonia. It wouldn't surprise me if he's broken blood vessels in his lungs from coughing. The hernia is in his groin, of course. He has been on three different antibiotics, codine cough meds, musinex, inhaler, nasal spray, singular, and mustard plasters and he's still sick. All of those were for bacterial infection, I think he needs a steroid shot and something for a fungal infection. His job requires him to install different types of cabling inside celing rafters through all kinds of insulation, there's no telling what he has breathed.

Betty he isn't going to look good with what he's been through. I am so very glad he has a psychiartist, he is going to go through all kinds of emotions. He will need one at home, or to have one handy. He might want to change schools when he's able to go back, for his safety and sanity.

Judy you did such a great job with her! Manipulators make me so angry it's unreal!!!

Barb I'm glad that David is feeling better every day!

Deb glad your David did good with the surgery and sending prayers up for him.

M shingles can make you feel like crap. About needles? it's easy having something removed but it sucks when they put stuff in! I did have a flu shot this year, my first one, and I have not been sick at all and I have been around many people with that new strand, including Joel. I'm positive that's where his lung issue started, I think his job has made it worse. Go get a flu shot peeps!!!

Katie I'm glad you're getting the tax issue straight and are up a bit more. Little by little my friend!!

Sue glad Tom is coming! He's probably already there by now. Lol!

Hi Susan! Hugs to everyone!!!!

I went to see my dad in Joplin today, we ate at HuHot! It's good food and fun building your own plates! We all had a great chat. I was home by 3:00 and baked BBQ chicken for dinner, along with baked potatos and corn.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

This week is a rollercoaster - sucks one minute, is wonderful the next.......

1. Changing membership from one church to another - emotional
2. Friend who gave me loom - her mom (my friend) passed on Monday morning
3. Former choir director called yesterday to give me 2 free tickets to Elvis impersonator show tomorrow night @7pm
4. Anne, who I helped move the beginning of this month, passed away yesterday (I tried calling her Monday, and Tuesday, with no answer to my voice message)
5. My knee, although sore from walking, etc, is doing better. I just have to keep exercising it - so out of shape
6. My b-in-law, Glen, I just found out from my sister Alice, has rectal cancer. She's the one who's not doing too well with lung & liver cancer. She's going onto a stronger chemo, cuz this one isn't doing enough. Her liver tumour is growing

Let us not forget - Betty & Noah - now There's a rollercoaster, eh Betty?

Oh my .. thoughts and prayers for Karen fer sure .. and, of course, everyone else needing them ..

Betty, didn't Mel's Mom have a bad dose of shingles? Sure hope she's OK to visit in ICU .. the docs are 100% correct re the hosp being the worst place to be to get better (over an extended period)
It's called a , NOSOCOMIAL infection .. an infection picked up from being IN the hospital .. lotsa bugs in a hospital.
Hope Noah gets home, going to be a tough row to hoe once he's feeling better, trying to put IT all into perspective ..

Crissy .. perhaps Joel should go back to energy? Coughing up brown gunk is NOT good ..

Susan, what a shock about Anne .. and thoughts and prayers for your sister and now Bro in law, sheesh, never rains but it pours !!

Snowed overnight, once it's light I'll be out to shovel .. Gord is still asleep, am hoping the med he got for the nerve pain from the shingles is working, he was just trashed yesterday ..

Does the bad news never stop?
She had been feeling off for some time, sick to my stomach at this news
Praying big time
Hope the Lord must be looking down at us saying 'ok,ok you win, another miracle coming your way!"

Time to hold hands again and pray

Victoria Harbour, ON

"m" yes, it is Mel's mom, she is bravely fighting a blood cancer for many years, day they were leaving for Christmas there were the shingles.mel said yesterday that she was improving.going to call Greg the morning for update on Noah

Glad Gord is resting well and news meds working

Heart is heavy, each of our households bearing so much pain,thank god we can band together and get solace from each other, it's what makes the days bearable..first think each morning coming to you all for strength.

Was thinking of going to walmart this morning for washroom supplies, towel holder etc but now I'm just not that interested in doing so

Big sigh

Guess I should get out of bed though

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She said the stent she had caught a blood clot. She had to have a 2nd stent installed.

Victoria Harbour, ON

During the night LindaKay?
Maybe a blessing that stent caught the blood clot?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She said her heart attack was at 3 am.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

My prayers are running big time this morning.....I almost don't know where to start.

Karen - heavy duty prayer for for you my friend that this stent will be a good one. Rest as much as you can and know we are with you.

Betty, sure hope you got some rest last night. You have so much on your mind with Noah right now. Bathroom things can wait for sure. Maybe the ladies will outfit it for you as they will benefit too. Glad you won't need to run up and down stairs like before. The chair lifts are great. My quilt shop has three floors and two stairways are equipped with them. Very easy to use.

Get Joel to emergency!! Coughing up brown stuff is not good. He just may need a round of steroids...

Glad to hear David is doing well. Mine is too.

Hope Gord is feeling better and that you get MRI results soon.

Big hugs to Judy for having strength.....

~~~Waving to everyone and hoping we can all hang in there for each other. Glad today is the last day of January and hoping that this is it for the year!!!!!
Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)
Thinking of you all as I read the thread, sending prayers up for everyone who is sick or hurting or caring for those that are. Caregivers are Angels here on Earth and will surely be rewarded in Heaven.
As I read each post it makes me realize that no matter what we are going through we are not alone. There is someone to listen, offer advice, sympathy, empathy, compassion and encouragement, whatever the need might be. You all are awesome and together make a force to be reckoned with. It is an honor to be allowed into your group.
Victoria Harbour, ON
What wonderful words
Haveme crying again
northeast, IL(Zone 5a)
It's just one thing after another on this thread this year! Saying prayers for Karen this morning.
Good Morning...coffee?
Oh my gosh, Sending prayers for everyone...
I am so glad Karen/silogama got to hospital in a quick hurry.
Betty, sure hope you got a really good rest last night. You've been going on adrenalin.
Praying for Noah to continue healing...
So smiling Barbara, thank you and Everyone.
M, I was so very happy and relieved with you, Ray's results. Boy those shingles are something else...When our David had them, Dr. said after effects might not go away.
lol on getting shots. I have grown to hate needles too.
Susan, sending Armwraps, ((((((((((((((Susan))))))))))))))) Sure hope the rollercoaster comes to an end, we could use a break.
Diane, how is Streak? getting back to himself? I think you asked about a specific wood. Although I forget what you called it. But, It doesn't sound familiar to me. lol think I'll ;ook it up in the tree book.
Thinking we will have a prayer fire tonight, I'll prepare the sage...
Omg, a big snow storm heading this way. You and Sunshine stay safe Sue.
more coffee, and something to eat, tummy is a growling.
Glenview, IL
Nanny, We are glad to have you with us. Thank you and the other for coming to support Betty and the rest of us.
Wish you'ld come visit more often.
Thanks Kris.
and Bev!! how are you doing?
Lyndonville, NY
Good morning, I have coffee and think we all need a shot of something stronger in it this morning.
Karen, thoughts and prayers are with you big time!!
Betty, maybe doing something like that will occupy your mind a bit, just make a short trip
and change scene. BUT if you feel too tired, listen to your body and stay home!!
Saying prayers for everyone.....ya'll know my ADD can't remember what I read one minute to the next, but I am thinking and praying for all of you.
Stay safe....Judy, let the guilt go. Its not easy, but you do NOT deserve that.
Big hugs alll....
Debbie
Glenview, IL
hi Debbie! You doing ok?
well, there has been so much going it easy to read and re-read and not remember.
I found myself to still have to go back and st6ill be confused!
M, so sorry, not Ray, Gord!!...Ray is another person on the prayer list.
Yep think i'll go make a list for the prayer fire.
Sunshine, I also was so glad to see Bill is doing so much better. I hope he gets the right meds.
Oh you know my mil had to have an extra med to keep that water down. Like Bill her leg ballooned out. When she got the med it went down almost immediately. So I hop its the same for Bill.
Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)
Judy .. "Ray, Gordon' makes no nevermind ... the news was good and it proved the power of prayer, AND, good people ..
Sure do hope Karen is doing ok .. if she actually had an attack, I do believe that perhaps a piece of the clot got passed the stent .. I kinda seem to remember her saying she is on blood thinners, that would certainly help too ..
Just in from shovelling .. Lorna, bless her heart, is now going to go out and do the 'potty pickin' for the 3 dogs.
GORDON is OUT, on his own for the first time in WEEKS .. kinda scary ..
Siting here with the phone in easy reach ..
Off to sort through more stuff ..
HEY .. has anyone got a good (EASY) program to use as an outline for a budget ?
I was thinking I spend way too much $$ on stupid stuff, and want to keep it all straight ..
I have WORD ..should just go and look !!!
TOODLES
Hey Judy, Sorry I missed your text last night. I hope your headache is gone.
I think we all need a vacation, come and pull up a chair, and join me???
Boy, that sure looks inviting LK> I could use it for sure. NO SNOW!!! And now they are saying 12 " on Monday! I have no idea where they can put it here. I can barely see out my windows now!!!
Verona, ON
Oh Karen sending positive thoughts, vibes and prayers. Thanks LK for letting us know.
Oh Sue having 1 of your furries cross the bridge is so hard. Armwraps as Judy says for Tom.
Betty I hope you got some sleep last night. Noah is going to be so overwhelmed. I bet Mel and Greg are going to have to limit visitors once he is home. You know this whole thing as scary as it was might be a blessing in disguise and Noah will get the help he has so desperately need and been denied.
Judy the wood is Ironwood. We have it here on the farm and man it burns hot.
M keeping you all in my prayers. Did Lorna see about her leg?
I feel quite discombobulated today. Hope I can catch a nap later. It is bitter cold here again -32 on the deck. The dogs ran home when I took them out this morning. I even put my long underwear on and was still chilled to the bone.
Going to make a seafood chowder this afternoon.I'll freeze some - maybe that will stop me from eating cereal or bananas for dinner.
Susan I am sorry you lost you good friend.Just think every time you use the loom you will have wonderful thoughts of her.
Need wood. Diesel is slipping on his chores.
Dianne
