Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Betty so sorry! I just read about this ordeal that you and your family have been going through. We had a similar experience with my nephew a while back ,only he was shot in his own yard, it was a horrible time for our family. It was over a year ago, a long story, but he is recovering and still with us. Prayers for Noah, you and and the family. I kept thinking how I would feel if it were my grandson Gabriel. It was bad enough with my nephew, I can't even bear to think of it.
And there probably will be speculation about what happened by the press. They are not above printing out and out lies if it gets them a story. It happened to my nephew. It is best to ignore whatever they say and don't let it upset you. The truth will eventually come out. So take care of yourself and keep us updated on Noah's condition.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

So Noah is off the ventilator? Awesome news that ..

Have been lurking .. no phone probs here as our LANDLINE is not working, cells only until tomorrow

Agree with Dianne re 'NO COMMENT' ..

All I can say is I am praying for a good recovery, and .. peace :-)

Love to all

Smiling through tears.
Betty, I sure just hearing him gave you a sigh of relief.

I hope that you will great a much better rest tonight.
glad everything is settled so you can see Noah.

Sunshine, big armwraps, So glad to hear Bills good report!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thank you all
Been getting calls every 10-15 minutes
Greg couldn't talk in front of Noah, said we would talk in the morning
I can only imagine his vitals aren't as good and so they are wary of sending him to midland

Was a godsend moment hearing and saying 'I love you'. Love all my grandsons but Noah and I have a special bond

I will have to hide supper, girls wanted to wait until I ate, promised them I'd have a bath, eat then go to bed but looking at food makes me go yuk

Oh Lordy looked in the mirror, shook my head, almost looks like I have black eyes from all the crying

Got the covers on, extra blankets because I'm freezing and hope I can get some sleep

All of you should try to sleep as well, you all must be so tired

Lyndonville, NY

Just had an early bath and have my PJs on also. I had that bone chilling cold going on also Betty, and I haven't been outside since Noonish.

Get some rest. They may want Noah watched for infection closer, and make sure everything
is well....and take care of psychological issues that can occur from all this. I think I agree is best he stay there for several days. You don't want to move him too early and end up with a
problem and have to transport back.

Hugs hugs hugs, So happy Bill had good report. Did I miss your report on Gord "M".

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hoping for everyones sake that Noah has had a wake up call. Now he should realize just how many are affected by his choices, and how very loved and lucky he is.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I know hearing his voice has made you feel so much better, and your stress level will drop more when you see him tomorrow.
Sweet dream Betty.

(((((Betty)))))

((((((. BETTY. ))))))). Just found out about Noah! So, very, very, upset to hear about this. I read everything from start to finish and have tears rolling down my face, I will be keeping all the warmth and hugs and healing thoughts I possess flowing in you and Noahs direction. I am sure he will be fine,, we cannot think any other way. If this happened to my Gryphon,, well,, I just cannot think about it. Please rest as much as you can and know that we all love you and are here for you and yours!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Night night Betty! Sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite!

Joyce so glad Bill got a good report!!!

Just an update, Joel isn't any better, coughing dark brown chunkies. I've never seen that before, I'm wondering if he has a fungal infection and they're treating a bacterial infection???

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, you better get him back to the Dr.

Lyndonville, NY

That sounds like it has turned to pneumonia and has blood in his lungs.
Could also be bleeding somewhere from coughing or hernia damage. Get him to the doctor.

South Lake Tahoe, CA(Zone 6a)

Betty ~ Many prayers for you and for Noah.... My heart aches for what has happened.... I briefly read some of the posts, but wanted to let you know that I'm praying for a fast and healthy recovery for Noah. Here's a warm HUG for you as well..... and God Bless....

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Betty, this is Sharon in Las Vegas. I am a continuous lurker. I was so panicked over your grandson and I am so relieved that he is improving every so slightly. All of your friends and their angels will pull him through. God bless and take care of yourself because he will need you to be healthy while he is recuperating. Hugs, Sharon

Thank you all so much, the prayers and concern over Noah is heartwarming.

When you are on your own you miss having someone by your side to hold, to cry with, someone who offers you comfort, with all of you posting I never felt alone.

I've been sleeping off and on, waking and falling back to sleep but think as I have to be up in an hour I will get up now, make myself presentable or they will think I need a bed in icu

Hard focusing my eyes, vision is blurry, hope a good wash will help.

Frightening thought seeing Noah this morning in the condition, just hope I don't hug him too hard..so need to give my son a hug, he sure has been under a lot of mental anguish.they were to leave for Jamaica Sunday, doubt they had cancellation insurance,

The lad that stabbed Noah is having a bail hearing this morning, mixed feelings about that..so feel bad for his parents

Ann told me that his mom works at Foodland, described her, often gab with her when I shop, nice lady,,I still can't believe that he took the key to snow machine and just left Noah to die in the cold..

We were talking last night, ann, rita and myself, the school is on a side road, barely a few houses on it, on a cold night one wouldn't think anyone would be seen but the Lord had someone walking a dog just when needed

I'm rambling again

Read the posts, offering prayers and concerns for those in need.

Let's hope I have some good news when I return today

Verona, ON

Betty sending off early prayers for a safe drive into TO. There is quite the storm here and it has been for several hours.I sure hope it has left your area. I will turn on BT at 4"30 so I can feel like I am travelling down the 400 with you.

Holding Noah, Greg, Mel, Kyle,Jeff and of course yourself close to my heart. Special prayers for all of Noah's medical teams. Just be yourself with Noah that will be a big help to him. I am sure as well as hurting physically he is overwhelmed and hurting emotionally..

Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Dianne, light snow but not storming...Lenny BIL has one of those extends truck 4 wheel drive so will be in good hands..Suzanne just called to make sure I was up..taking pillow with me, might help the back pressure.

Yes, we are all so concerned with Noah's injuries that i hadn't even thought about his emotional needs..I'm sure that event, time of stabbing will be something he will dream and think about for a long time.

Will be hard not questioning him on the events but won't, there will be time to do so later

Glad you will be travelling with me

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm here as well wishing you all safe travels. Noah is in good hands and the doctors are wise to keep him until it is safe to move him. Trying to minimize infection chances is a good thing. The hospital kept David for three more days than they originally thought also. One night when they thought he would go home the next day, he spiked a fever. Glad he was still in hospital...
Remember to put a big smile for Noah and let him know we are all praying for him.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I am sure you are long on your way, but I will still say Safe Journey!
Sending gentle hugs and healing thoughts.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending my prayers for a safe trip Betty. Give them all hugs from us please?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Suzanne and Lenny have stopped at highway stop for washroom and breakfast pit
Traffic is bumper to bumper. Lenny's appt is 9a,m, here is hoping he makes it..they will drop me off at my entrance then go find their entrance..not sure how long their appt is but it will give me time for a good visit.

Although I've not had problems with Midland hospital many have so am glad they didn't send him, keeping him was good.

Well, we are on the road again, gab later

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

YEE HAW !! Travelling with Betty on the 400 .. now THAT would be an adventure :-)

Just am so hoping that the trip in goes well, and, that the visit leaves you a bit more settled Betty ..
OMG re the Jamaica trip, I do remember you telling us that .. who knows, perhaps they did have cancellation insurance ..

Prayers continue on angels wings from Thunder Bay to St Mikes ..

Huge hugs

Safe trip Betty!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

How did you make out yesterday"M"? I know you won't get results quickly but has Gord realized
the end is not near!!! I thought of you so often and prayed for safe travels. Will they be running more tests now to see what is causing these problems? Sure hope the good news of the other day has helped his outlook.

I talked with David last night for a few minutes. He still has quite a bit of pain but now only when he coughs. They encourage him to do that but there are times his pillow is downstairs and he is up!! Says he is feeling better each day so I guess it is the way to go. This way, he won't try to over do thinking he is all better.....

Hope today is a good one for everyone. Waving to all ~~~~~~

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

I know there's so much going on, and so many prayers being said, but asking for one more. Please include my brother David in your prayers. He has recovered enough from the surgery last month where they removed half his liver and a section of small intestine, and today goes in for prostate surgery.

Safe travels, Betty. Know that we are all there with you in spirit.

Deb

Thinking of everyone today! Sending warm hugs and gentle thoughts. Everyone please be safe!!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers for your David as all of you sent them for mine.
My David is doing really well and sees the surgeon next Tuesday. Still has pain in the area of the titanium plate but says it is easing somewhat. He is one very lucky young man....

I second that thought. So many prayers going out for everyone in need!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Deb, sending prayers for your David!

Betty, are you still hugging Noah?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

The bone scan yesterday was a trying time for Gord .. he had to lay on his back for about 45 minutes without moving .. and, the shingles area was right where he was laying .. so .. PAINFUL ..
He is in a better frame of mind since he found out the bone marrow biopsy was A OK .. but, still in a quandary as to WHY he feels so bad .. the docs put the blame solely on the shingles .. so .. we'll go with that.
The new doc he will see at he Cancer Clinic will no doubt start his own wheel rolling insofar as more testing goes.

Momcat .. prayers headed your way for your David ..

Waiting for the telephone people to come fix the phone .. thank heaven for wireless !!

Hope Betty is making out OK

Betty is in waiting room of icu
Can't get in until 11am. Drats
Suzanne and Lenny are at their appt
So guess I justhaveto sit here

Emailed Greg/Mel to find out where they are

Big sigh

Saying prayers for David and all who need them

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OH NO! Sorry to hear you have to wait Betty. We will all pull up a chair and join you!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good report but I'm sorry Gord is going through so much pain with the shingles. At least we know that the shingles will pass. If this is what was coming on for a while, it might account for why he felt so badly. Hope your phone fix is a simple one.

I imagine Betty is trying her darndest to hold her emotions together and present a happy face for Noah. He is so very lucky to be alive......I'm sure she will check in when she can....

We cross posted!!!! I'm so pleased that you are there now Betty and will get to see Noah soon. He is going to be fine and that is what we need to focus on...We are all with you and will be as long as you need us...
Is there a coffee shop or a gift shop where you can spend some time?

"M", Sorry he had to endure that pain for o long. Those MRI machines are not friendly for those that have back pain of any kind!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks for sitting with me

Talk about a trip, would never live downtown..stop and go
Left at 5:40 and just got here

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Four hours is three and a half too long for me too!!! How is your back doing? Are you okay? Hope someone shows up soon so you are not alone there.

Victoria Harbour, ON
