This is gross, but Joel has been coughing up A LOT of cardboard colored gunk all day. He says he can breathe a lot better but he is exhausted. I told him we are going back to Urgent Care tomorrow because they have the chest x-rays from 2 weeks ago. I don't know why nobody has put him on steroids, they put me on them right off the bat. I'm thinking he needs Advair. What do y'all think?
Terri so glad you chimed in! We are very close knit and some of us have met in person several times. Chime in more often, even if it's just for a wave!
Poor Karen!! I'm glad they found the problem and fixed it, here's to no more heart attacks!
Betty yes be careful what you say to people, sweethearts can go south when a tragedy happens.
I forgot what else I read. Oh well, it's been a long day, but did do some iris pruning til my hamstrings hurt. We'really supposed to get 1-3" of rain in the next 20hrs so I'll dig weeds afterwards. I have these diseased knock outhe rose bushes I tore out the other day but now need to get the root ball out. That will be fun once it's done, then it'll be a lily bed!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
I am a lurker on here usually, and i dont post because its hard for me to write a lot and i forget a lot of things i want to reply to or ask About, but I have broken my silence a few times lately and this is one of them. I just wanted to say that as a lurker, I am in awe of how much you all care for one another!
I can see where a well meaning person might take a statement the wrong way amd think it might hurt someone else. However, family should get at least one free pass on anything not said in person because the written word is a poor way to express emotion. As a reader, you have to be careful to look at what people write during a stessful period with a non emotional heart or your emotions and a knee jerk reaction will make you respond in a way that you may regret.
Please dont let an innocent comment destroy what you have here in this group.
Thats all I wanted to say about that..
I hope everyone has sweet dreams tonight and I am sending big, fluffy hugs to all,,, night,,,,
DITTO!! I tend to speak first and then realize what I said made no sence,, I am sure I have offended many people because of this very bad short coming.
Anyway,,, Ralph's father committed suiside 2 years ago,, I was so mad because it hurt his sons so much that I up and refused to go to the funeral. I can understand having emotional problems or PTSD.. But the stupid man did it because he got mad at his brother!! Anyway I will say no more about that as I will get ugly and I do not need to go there,,,

Hi - Thanks to all of you for your support. It means a lot, especially as the person who went off on me has her hands over her ears and her eyes shut as she chants, "I'm right, I'm right, I'm right."
While I don't think she will ever get it it has been a major event for me to be so supported. I have left and lost other friends, groups and family members because of this issue. My mother would always says, "It's not for me; it's for your father." And he would do the same for her. Very crazy. And impossible to confront.
If anyone is directly offended by anything I say they are welcome to tell me. But please don't try to do it for someone else - especially if you haven't even talked to them. In the 60's we called that mindf...king.
It's late and I've been trying to sleep but there's a lot of barking going on. I think the restaurant at the beach may be open and may have music. I can't hear it but the dogs are raising heck.
I got a lot of vegetables from the man who comes around on Saturdays. And I cooked a kilo of shrimp. I'm hoping I can get some dip and veggies together for the Super Bowl party. Last year I was the only "single" there but I had a good time. Good food, nice people, not much drinking and the Seahawks won. It doesn't get much better than this.
hugs, katie
Glad to hear that Karen is going home on Monday :-))))
Enjoyed the Elvis concert - Front Row Seats! He made my heart go pit-a-pat! The seats were only 3 feet from the stage, and we were only 1/2 way from the center! Wow - and as soon as my phone charges, I'll post pics. We would have been able to bring cameras, apparently, but I didn't think we could so I didn't, Good thing my phone had some juice. I got a video of one of his songs, too. Several close-ups, and I do mean, several. As I said 3 ft from the stage and he worked all across it, to Right In Front of me...
oh, and he gave me a scarf lol
Morning all,
February, sure hoping this month is kinder to us all
Having a coffee, might even go in the craft room today and sew a bit,my way of calming myself.
Housework all done, even painted the floor last night in the laundry room, nice light green
Undecided if IWill do a technique to make it look like ceramic tile.
One never knows I might clean the woodworking area, pain the floor to clean it up
Doesn't matter what I do today as long as it's boring, miss having my dull life
Hoping there is sunshine in all of your lives today
Hugs and prayers coming your way.

Hope the noise died down for you ..
Betty .. I can just imagine how boggled your mind is, THAT takes a toll on your whole physical and emotional well being, make sure you eat right, and, take some extra vitamin C ..
Susan .. Thunder Bay has a SUPER Elvis impersonator ,, Dylan James .. his Gospel show is just fabulous, al A LA ELVIS .. hips and smile and gosh amighty, have to give yer head a shake to NOT believe it's the real deal LoL
Crissy .. I think Joel would do well with a ventolin inhaler treatment .. done with a mask and oxygen .. Barb knows what I mean :-)
Longer it goes on, the more involved it'll get ..
Mud .. I absolutely LOVE the pic by your name .. just too cute .. reminds me of Anne Geddes.
Off to grab a coffee and read the paper ..

Morning. Bitter cold here. Been up tiptoeing around as I have unexpected overnight visitors. But as a creature of habit I am itching to get the vacuuming out of the way. Little Duke now follows me around when I use the vacuum. Wow that is a change from when he first arrived. I am so proud of him.
Sun is out but it even looks cold. Enjoy the Super Bowl festivites everyone. I wouldn't have any idea who was playing if I didn't watch the Boston news. Did you see on the news that during the major snow storm in Boston earlier this week a young man shovelled off the finish line of the Boston Marathon? Yes Boston strong!!
Enjoy your day everyone.
Dianne
I sure do know what you mean "M" regarding the breathing. I use a nebulizer machine three times a day now. With three different meds each time. It sure does make the meds get down in the lungs where it is needed. Joel may be able to make do with the portable inhalers though but it sounds like he needs a heavy dose ( fifteen days) of predisone to clear out those lungs of his....
I have Sean here so this will be short this morning. Sending prayers for all in need and praising God for the blessings He has bestowed on all of us. God bless you all......
Edited to add: We crossed Dianne. Boston is a world unto itself and strong is but one description. When it comes to sports, Bostonians are almost fanatical in their support of whichever sport they are for. The marathon has become a rallying point for caring and sharing. Not too bad in my humble opinion....

Morning everyone. No news from Karen this morning. I hope she is able to get some sleep in the hospital.
"M" sorry to hear about Claraine passing. Sending prayers for the family.
Sorry about Claraine passing as well "M"
She sure did put up a fight!
Maybe the doctor can provide Joel with an inhaler..shouldn't leave it too long
Nice that you have company Dianne, vacuuming can be done anytime but I do know what you mean when you have a daily routine and it just doesn't seem right not to be following it.
Barb, will Sean be going home today? You never did get to do the floormats?
Kudos to the Boston young man for doing so. In my travels east we will stop in Boston..Roger and I for years would on long weekends visit friends on long weekends, what a fast drive that was lol but I love the city..looking forward to doing it with the girls.
Not much appetite but will eat properly today, promise
pressing a few pairs of jeans then will play with Dresden's I cut out for Christmas tree throws.
"M" so sorry for your loss. I hope February will be a healthier, happier month for us all. AND we are 1 month closer to Spring!!!! Have a great day everyone.
M so sorry for the loss of your cousin. Praying for a happier, healthier February for everyone.
Introducing Bonnie and Klaus. They are 10 weeks old, third generation from my dogs. I forgot what it's like to have puppies around the house. Nothing is safe. The are both so sweet, but Klaus will only hold still for a photo if there is food involved!
Deb
What kind of dog? They are so cute.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q8xz8xKEFvU
Hope the above link works ,, VERY timely, and, why I do NOT 'do apps' !!
I believe the dogs are Afghans? Prolly spelled that incorrectly (sorry)
~M~
Yes, they're afghans, and yes M you spelled it correctly.
WOW! I am glad I don't have that app on my phone.
Love the puppies!! So cute!
Morning all. I haven't heard, did that silly groundhog see his shadow?
Sorry to hear about the passing of your cousin, Claraine, M (((((((((hugs))))))))))
no flashlight app here......
This is a very well known Elvis tribute person - http://www.elvisevolution.com/
These pics are close-ups I took - front row seats, only 3 feet from him :-)
I thought groundhog day was Feb 2nd?
Groundhog's day is Feb 2nd. Fingers are crossed that the clouds hang around for another day. and the weather warms up a bit.
Oh....well, we're in Ohio, so more than likely we still have 6 weeks of Winter left no matter what!
This message was edited Feb 1, 2015 11:17 AM
not sure he does it today Joyce??? maybe I'm wrong
OMG Deb, look at the size of them and they are only 10 weeks old..holy wah
"M" link did work and lordy doesn't that open your eyes..guess there is no way before opening an app to see exactly what you are allowing it to do.
I see the article today about Groundhog day, but it is tomorrow.
Nice pictures Susan, was he good at singing the songs?
yes, he was very good - I got a scarf from him lol
One song I wish he sang was "Big Boots" from Elvis' army days. Love that song........
I go to the Elvis Gospel breakfast, best $$$ I've ever spent at an event
Happy Superbowl Sunday!!
Welcome February 1...I did have a prayers fire last night.
It's been a long while.
scrunchie face here, took a photo, but I can't share it, for some reason I can't import the reader card?? So frustrating.
sigh once upon a time I was good at the computer and now Im the biggest idiot! hahaha.
Anyway, I'd like to say Thank you for the kind words of support to all of us.
oh my Deb, Bonnie and Klause are so beautiful. how old are they.
M, Sorry for your loss...yikes, I'm glad I don't do apps either. Im going to show that to DH and Jake, I think they do have the flashlight feature.
Barbara, Thank you, always nice to chat with you and others...Hope you have a good visit
glad to hear Callie a bit better.
Crissy, Oh gosh, I sure hope Joel gets somet6hing for that. Maybe coughing that gook out is a good thing, I mean that it breaking up?
Betty, still have prayers going for Noah. You are incredible. I'm sure Dillion mom needed to talk too. Bless you for listening and giving her hugs. Such a sad turn of events.
I was hoping you got in a good nights sleep. Well at least you were able to rest real good.
I hope you enjoy a lazy day...
Well, hate to tell ya, Pegasus is not feeling well, poor baby, I think he is "starving" Jake got him a different food...We gave him a couple of syringe feeding and he gobbled both right up.
Well see how he is today, plus I think he caught my cold.
OMG! A Potty Party, too funny...shake your head now, because believe it or not I have a story!
lololol, I'm sitting hear beat red and laughing at the same time.
yippy enjoy the superbowl day evening...I'm going to have a lazy day too, did everything yesterday.
Oh which reminds me, M...you asked about a easy program for your budget.
Excel is actually a pretty easy program for something like that. It's a matter of understanding how to set the sheet up. Quicken is another. Let me know if you want, I can help you do a basic sheet.
More coffee anyone.
That article was originally posted on Feb 2, 2009. My DD was born on Ground Hog Day....it was a family tease about whether she would decide be here or not...
M sorry for your loss.
"M" also sorry to hear of Claraine's passing. Sounds like she was a wonderful person wo will be missed.
I slept with a heating pad on my stomach and feel much better this morning. Woke up at 6:30 and got to work - cleaned the kilo of shrimp that I cooked last night. The little dogs weren't impressed but Scout and Jenny ate the shells and asked for more.
While doing that, I watched "The Nanny Diaries" which I enjoyed. Can't say as much for cleaning the shrimp but the job is done.
May go to town and do a little grocery shopping, then get ready for the Super Bowl party.
We've had several days of drizzling rain this week. The plants are happy and so are we. Some years we don't get any or we get a tropical storm or hurricane. We give thanks for drizzle.
I am so relieved to have the tax stuff done I can't believe it. I'll call their advocacy people tomorrow and hope they will make sure I'm not ignored (again).
I feel good. Hope all of you do, too.
hugs, katie
Judy, my son was here yesterday and I was telling him about our prayer fire at Bettys.
He asked all about it and knew some history from it, he has friend in Colorado that did with him.
Is strange you had one last night and is what I was talking about. Big arm wraps and hope that Pegasus is doing better. Maybe he needs a birdy bread made with boiled eggs, mixed veggies and cornbread. Mine loved it.
Judy, sorry to hear that Pegasus is still sick, yes they can get a cols just like we do. Please find a bird vet to get him too, they have special vitamins they give you to put in his water.
I want to play a game....we all need cheered up.
Here is your first clue....take a guess
It is about 4 feet....and it runs
It causes Chaos.....
Clue #2 It is black....with tan interior

Your dog?

...I'm glad our spirits met.
That was such a gorgeous night and so special, Ill remember it forever.
Thanks Debbie and Linda kay for Pegasus, I told him about the vitamins and your recipe...
We will take him to the vet in the morning.
What fun idea...uhm, roadrunner?

Judy, do regular vets have expertise to treat birds?
Had company and now tired and think as I'm chilled I might just get a blanket and have a nap
Great news, Noah has been eating and walking, everything working
Greg said he's miserable so he must be ok
For Greg and Mel's sake let's hope he goes home in the next few days
I think it's awfully soon when you almost died to be out so soon, doctor's must know
