Betty, did the doc ever tell you not to take Tylenol. I think it builds up and plays havoc on the liver and kidneys. Especially with codine in it. Might want to ask.

Love to you all
Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bundle up if you have to go outside.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will do
Just took a container of soup from the freezer, great way of warming up

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Be careful in that kind of cold Betty.

Battering down the hatches here today. Snow on the way this afternoon through Wednesday! We are expecting around 2 feet but it is supposed to be fluffy. Could mean dangerous snowdrifts for those out and about. NOT me...!!!! LOL

Going to do some sewing - making stockings for my brothers for next Christmas. And then some for my kids. I have embroidered ones for all the grands but not my own kids! Shame on me.....
Hoping we don't lose power.

Victoria Harbour, ON

have heard Barb the storm will be a bad one..here's hoping Norm 's company is understanding and he doesn't have to go out in it.

family will so love getting those stockings at Christmas and it's a great stash buster..what I like is that you don't spend days without seeing a finished project.

I did that Christmas tree runner, just put batting and backing to it, won't take long to quilt..going to have to buy another tote, already filled one..

thinking of all of you who need prayers..you are never far from my thoughts

Glenview, IL

Good Day.

Well, geesh, I been busy!! LOLol, it took me quite a while but I figured out how to do a mail merge!!
One would never have known I did them on a regular routine, never even had to think about it.
Well, it's been years. Fooled around with it for it seemed hours...When all else fails Read the directions!!
haha. So got my Directory done and now I'll be printing out envelopes. omegosh, just giddy to be doing an actual mailing project!
Then I have a few proposals to work on...DH, landed a nice big Kitchen job, sigh more cabinets coming here.
They are really nice, actually brand new. The people just purchased the property and decided they wanted the kitchen remodeled anyway.
Yesterday and day before, I did some research on silk flowers. I am doing the floral for Heather's wedding in September. have my list of supplies so will be doing the drive around to see/handle the items needed.
Wowwie, good thing I checked the internet for one particular store...Found out they moved back in July!
One of my favorite Crafting stores. Used to go on my lunch break, anyway, Eyebrow raise!! They moved closer to me!! woohoo...so I'll be checking out the new location maybe tomorrow, I'm actually pretty excited!! hmmm, maybe I'll see if they need help.

Ok, need more coffee bbs

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Betty .. you have the cold, and we have the S N O W .. and .. LOTS of it
Not as much as Barb, but, I doubt I'll be going out to pick up the few grocery items I wanted, we can live without a salad for one night ..

Judy, good for you re the 'email merge', I remember when I first discovered exactly what 'PgUp' and 'PgDn' meant LoL

Sounds as though you have a classic case of 'sciatica' Betty .. best thing for it is heat .. even though you feel it in your butt, it initiates in your back ..
AND, as much as you don't wanna hear this, REST is best, or at least not bending and lifting, should be kept to a minimum.

Gord had a HORRIBLE weekend .. pain from the shingles area, and all around generally feeling cruddy .. no appetite, he's losing weight .. starting the week with mixed emotions as we'll be getting more news from tests etc ..
Keep him in your prayers please :-)

Not too sure on funeral arrangements for Jesse .. am almost certain they will be in Brandon, Manitoba, but, then I think again and perhaps it'll be Sudbury ON ..will be touching base with some cousins today perhaps ..

Anyway .. stay warm everyone

HUGZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Victoria Harbour, ON

you are on a high Judy
could it be Steve going to work on a new project and you'll have your house back?
hope you find all you need and more at the craft store..what is the name of it?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Prayers always being said for Gord "M",
could be losing weight due to stress waiting for results..been there, you WANT to know and yet you DON'T..

guess it's better to know rather than imagine what is going on.

Do think it's sciatica
will move around today and not just sit..
know you are saying I never sit and do nothing but I really do, much of my projects result in sitting for hours on end

good morning
M so sorry to hear of Gords pain :( sending healing thoughts to him.
Betty and Barb, i won't complain about our weather. its a heat wave of 1 and only 5 " of snow.
Judy congrats !!! i have no idea on what mail merge is LOLOL .
no school today for kids. I m sure i won't make it out my driveway either :(
FYI those coming to the Sistah Gathering will get a 90 min massage. :) That should help those with sciatica or other body malfunctions . :)
welp better get busy doing something ?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Not too bad here today. Hovering at 0 but no snow lots of sunshine. Could be worse. "M" you and Barb need to just hunker down and stay warm. Gentle hugs to all who need them. Feeling somewhat better today, going to sew in a bit.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Hugs and prayers for all!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sue, when are you having it?
will it take in a weekend?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Been reading for hours, LOL can't catch up! Nor remember what I read!

M I am so sorry about your cousin!! Many thoughts and prayers for your family!

Susan I am so sorry about the job, it sucks, I know.

Here employers don't check with references and past employers until they want to hire you, after all the interviewing is done, so the minister couldn't have sabotaged you if they hadn't checked yet. Also, it is illegal for an employer to talk bad about a previous employee, but if the two managers saw each other in a public place and the conversation happened to lead that direction, that's a different story.

Karen maybe you should ask for Pepcid instead of Prilosec. I used to have a huge heartburn problem and Prilosec didn't work for me either, but prescription Pepcid knocked it out in one day. It got so ridiculous water would give me heartburn, nasty nasty stuff!

Cookie so glad Bill is back home!!

Judy so glad you get to spend the time together!!

Betty I tell my mom she's not listening all the time, because she doesn't! I'll be talking about something important and she always, without fail, starts talking to her dog when I'm in the middle of my story, makes me so mad! Then she says, "I'm listening!" I say, "If you're having a conversation with your dog you're not listening to me." GGGRRRRR

Update on my stuff:
My stepdad finally let my mom show him a video of what a thyroid can do to heart rate and blood pressure, and he finally decided to go get his thyroid checked again, then had his appointment with his heart doc last Friday. My mom says he is starting to have mood swings and cannot remember stuff he usually can remember, which happens when the brain is lacking blood and/or oxygen and the low blood pressure proves his heart rate is down to 50bpm, tops. His thyroid numbers are a little off but not enough to cause the problems he's having. His heart doc said she has done every heart test there is and he absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, does not have a heart problem, and she suspects a neurological problem, possibly brain tumor or blood clot, or even an electrical short somewhere, she doesn't know. She put a referral into his primary care physician to refer him to a brain doctor.

Joel was no better as of 7pm last night, still hacking a lung, wheezing, complaining about not being able to breathe, and upsetting that hernia. So after my mom reminded me... duh... Mustard Plasters!!!! I went out and bought some hot mustard powder, made a plaster, put it on him for 10 minutes, by bedtime he had almost no congestion, no wheezing, no coughing, nothing. I've read that they're good for aching muscles too, and he has a big muscle knot kind of beside/under his left shoulder blade so I'm going to put one on his chest tonight, then transfer it to that knot and see if it gets rid of it.

Oh! I got the job at JB Hunt!! I go for drug testing today and they're verifying my employment and background check as we speak! I start on Feb. 2nd if everything clears.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Katie I am so sorry you are in so much pain, but glad it has subsided. Hopefully it will keep on sibsiding and go away altogether, never to return!

That's incentive Sue!! I'm going to tell Joel about that massage!! Ha!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Crissy, that's fantastic news, worried though about your previous employer, wasn't kind to you re Unemployment issues, do you think he'll cause a problem..may this be the job of a lifetime.

Ohhhh remember those mustard plasters and also the wool sack with onions/garlic and forget what else grandma would hang around our necks..good old cures..bet he's shaking his head in wonder.

Here is hoping your stepfather will get help, men are so stubborn sometimes.

went to post office, temps aren't warming up
posted the prayer shawl, bought a quilting magazine and not sure if I will take a trip to Barrie today.

I did call Timbrr mart, they have a roll on paint you can put on pre-painted cement floors that gives a texture, maybe I can get in that far
or I can stay in, have my soup, have a nap and look at my quilt magazine

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Congrats on the job Crissy, glad someone made a good connection.

I'm feeling better, it's my understanding it takes Prilosec a few days to kick in. Dr.s wrote a scrip for it which saves me a bunch, only have a small co-pay. Just got a call for a follow-up visit in a month...OK I'll do this one time but not making a habit of it. Big co-pay for the specialists and they are piling a lot of them on me.

Filed my taxes last night...finally hit the don't owe any bracket. Is that good or bad???

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear that plaster helped his coughing.
Congrats on the job Crissy!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Aw Betty he won't. It's just going to be background people calling to verify my employment with HR anyway.

I'm going to go take a shower and get ready for my pee session. LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Karen, the first year I was on social security, no one told me they did not take out taxes, so at the end of the year, I owed them. Right away, I called the office, and told them to take taxes out, so I don't have to pay at end of the year.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Karen any time you don't owe taxes it's a good thing!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We had taxes taken out but we got them all refunded. Plus a credit to our state taxes so we actually came out ahead. I could at this point stop the with-holding but need the refund to pay our property taxes, Vicious circle.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Marilynne - prayers for Gord, always....

Crissy - yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! on the job - SO happy for you :-)))

Betty - men, stubborn?!?!?! nah........... lmao
Here's hoping, trip-wise, everything goes well for you & your mom

Love to everyone - you're such a blessed family to me :-)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty I was just texting with my ex-boss, it's all good, he didn't do anything to stop the Unemployment checks, it says right on the notice I just read for the (lol) 10th time, "We like all of our applicants to do a phone interview before receiving payment as it is a way to ensure truthfulness of the employee as everyone is under oath." Like people don't lie under oath, how lame! All this is doing is ruining lives, it's been 6 weeks since I've received any type of compensation, know what that does to a mortgage and car payments, then they bitch when the homeless rate goes up because "everyone has family to help them." No, they don't, not if they're an only child of 2 only children and both parents have passed on and there are no aunts, uncles, cousins, because you don't have those when you're parents are only children.
Ok enough of that rant LOL!!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I think you need to start a message to him with....My lawyer says......

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

WAHOO Crissy .. congrats ..
Several years ago there was a plane crash up this way, and, a family was totally wiped away.
Mom and Dad were only children in their families, and they were traveling with their only child .. it was quite tragic, what they lacked in family they had in close friends and colleagues ..
Good luck with the 'pee in the bottle', always a challenge !

Shoveling was on the agenda today, and playing with the dogs in the 22F temps ..

Barb, how's things there .. re snow

Off to make a wrap (out of a tortilla) LoL

~M~

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Quilting is on the agenda today......... that, and 1/2 hour of Bob's paperwork

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

M it's a heatwave!!

Sue so far he's keeping himself out of trouble LOL!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

good grief - did I say "1/2 hour of Bob's paperwork"?
With his phone calls, and other calls I'm getting (nothing to do with the paperwork, but have to get myself back in Finance-mode), it's taking a lot longer...... argh! Want/need to get back to sewing!!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Got some sewing done, now to figure what's for dinner.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

back to sewing - now I can do it :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Seems each time we schedule something in takes much longer..in our minds we must think we are super women.

I managed to get the runner done, got the texture paint for cement floor in laundry room, of course takes a special roller, had a hot bath, drinking hot chocolate, looking at new quilting book I bought today and now I'm eyeing my bed, not that I'd sleep but could prop myself up and get comfy!

What did you sew Karen? Susan, Dow many panels left before you can say 'fini'

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm making a baby quilt. It's cute but quite involved.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Photo's please
Your aren't over exerting yourself are you

Lordy this bed feels nice

i know i shouldn't complain but my tummy is not good. Yes i m a whimp. Don't know how you all do it with your aches and pains.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

No Betty, not over doing. Nothing to show yet. Lots of pieces to play with before construction.

mulege, Mexico

Betty, My neighbor Dana says that a TENS unit helped a lot with sciatica. It makes electrical impulses.

I've had a rough day.

hugs, katie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

(((((((Katie))))))) rest, m'dear......

Betty - this one I'm working on makes 3, and I have 2 more. Some I have to put more than one border on, because at the beginning people dropped out for one reason or another
