I am up too. Already had breakfast and am sitting doing breathing machine.
I am still on yesterday's high of going out shopping. I had such a good time with my neighbor. You all would love her - she is "one of us". She doesn't have internet service here like I do and only uses a laptop at the library where there is free Wi-fi. Otherwise I wold invite her to join us here. She has a very dry sense of humor that I just love. She is a quilter and a knitter and is learning crochet now. We have a good time together. The best part is that although she lives a flight of stairs above me, we aren't in each others pocket. We only see each once or twice a week.
Got interrupted...Norm needed kisses goodbye for the day!!!
Sending prayers for Gord and for Dianne's Streak. And for all others in need. Are you feeling better yet Betty?

Early risers that's for sure
Barb I'm thrilled you have a friend so close by who shares your interests
She sounds lovely
So now like I you have supplies, what will you work on?
Maybe you can plan an outing with her for once a week
Is she the lady you joined the knitting group with?
How's the sweater coming along?
Safe travels LindaKay ..
Smokey is still with us and a bit perkier .. actually ate and used his litter box this morning.
Crissy .. yeowza, sounds as though you might be in line for a wonderful job .. fingers crossed.
Moon ...what a marvelous idea !!! I used to have a set of those eggs when DS was a kid, I betcha I used them for about 5 years !! Gone now, but, betcha the dollar store has them ..
Just have to find a darning needle whose eye will take some grey wool .. this is going to be a challenge for me .. but, I'm UP for it ..
Off to buy some fish for dinner, maybe Salmon .. depends on what's available ..
COOL morning .. -2F .. you're cooler though Betty ?
Holding all those febrile pussers close ..

Morning everyone, just popping in to say I will see you all when I can. Internet at my son's place is terrible.
Betty, and Dianne, I hope you both get in a nap today!
Cindy has the birdhouse swap open!

Betty you're right, that's why I didn't say too much when she was asking questions and just told her her manager is handling it fine.
M I just might, sounds like I have someone fighting to get me on his team! I'll take it!!
Have a good time LK and drive careful!
Oh wait, today's not Friday! Ha!!!
I am leaving in abut 10 minutes.
Crissy, I just know you will be called into work any day now! How is Joel feeling?
Oh! That's where I got Thursday from LOL! Lets try this again, have a good, safe trip LK!
LindaKay, thanks for all the work you do putting these reminders of swaps on all the threads..do appreciate it! Safe travels
Crissy, bet you won't want to leave home over the next while anticipating a call.
"M" -24 this morning
went out and bought a container of green ice sprinkle melter as my steps are glare ice.
girls are coming to sew tonight and the plumbing company coming in the a.m. to tell me what has to be done to install that pump up toilet system so best the stairs are cleared, hate for them to break a leg or worse.
Glad Smokey is feeling better "M"
Now to hear from Dianne
Safe travels Linda, hope all the news is good.
"M" now I know I have lots of darning needles. I got all my moms plus hubby's grandmas. Why do I think I need to keep hundreds of needles in every size imaginable?
Crissy sure hope you get that call soonest. Waiting is soooo stressful.
Darn I just lost my post. Too many puppy noses hovering near the keyboard I think.
M it is relatively balmy in your neck of the woods. My temp is right around Betty's -29 on the lakeside deck. Are you warming up to expect a storm M? Looks like Betty and I might get some snow tomorrow.
I fought the good fight at 3 am this morning and didn't give in to my desire to have another 1 of those scrumptious cookies I told Betty about. I wanted 1 so badly and I was trying to rationalize dark chocolate might help me sleep. BUT I thought Betty doesn't have any so if she is up it is not fair for me to gobble 1 down. I might add each cookie is 170 calories too!
Barb I am so excited for you that you had such a great time yesterday. All this talk of wool makes me think I had better pull out either the crochet hook or knitting needles. How is that sweater coming you were talking about last month? Does Cali breathe better during the daylight hours?
Betty, M do we have RC cola here in Ontario? I'm not much of a pop person so rarely check out that aisle. Besides that is the aisle that has all those wonderful Frito Lay chips and cheesies so best I ignore it.
Glad Smokey is still with you M and appears perkier.Maybe he realizes you and Gord need him right now. Counting the days with you until Jan 28.
Crissy how is Joel? Yuck on the hernia though. Samoyed usually live until they are 14/15 - the key is to keep them active.
Can't call the vet until 10 am to find out how Streak is........ Sassy does not miss him one bit. Sass is Streak's twin - the only 2 in the litter. She's very happy with him gone as she can now come upstairs whenever she wants. I think I mentioned she likes to cuddle with a sleeping Duke right in front of the wood stove.
Watching the clock !
Dianne
Betty leaving home doesn't matter, I only use a cell phone. Half the time when I'm home I don't know where my phone even is, and 90% of the time it's on silent. I know, not good! LOL My car has bluetooth so it's a big speaker phone, Love It!!
Joel is feeling ok I guess, he goes back and forth and still has that nasty cough. Said as he was leaving that he didn't feel good but I think that's more mental than anything else as he had no problem picking on me all morning from the moment his alarm went off! Turd got up and turned on all the lights gggrrrrrrr
Yeah, ice isn't good, as we all know, you might have to wrap them in bubble wrap and scoot them up the stairs!!
Waiting for 10 along with you Dianne .. also the time Lorna's folks call each morning to talk with her ...
I don't think we have RCCola here in Canada .. I'm like you, seldom drink Pop .. have kinda gotten a liking to Presidents Choice brand mandarin flavoured sparkling water .. 0 calories, and, refreshing ..
ICE .. Lorna is mighty afeared of it .. uses her walker or her canes with picks on the end .. I usually am close by, am sure if she fell on her butt, I'd be right behind her and we'd BOTH be needing help to get up !!
ICE also means, 'IN Case of Emergency' .. supposed to have it on your cellphone contact list so that if anything happens to you the police or EMTs can just call the ICE entry on your cell .. don't know if it works, but, I have it on there ..
Day is moving slow .. going to and look up darning needles .. the knit on the Alpaca wool is NOT tight ..

Don't think we do have RC here Dianne, been a long time since I've seen it on the shelf..think Debbie brought some over when she was visiting. Did you see foodland has coke -6 bottle packs for $2.00, great buy..I bought 8, might drop in and buy more before the sale ends tonight, would give me the opportunity to buy those cookies at same time lol
I'm bad Crissy with cel, have a container full, don't want them, don't use them..think they are the end of our being social.
Looking at the clock Dianne, after 10, waiting for update
Streak still hasn't peed. I can't believe it...... he was going all over the place here. Vet is going to do another physical exam after he finishes the surgery he is doing right now - maybe a blood test is in order. The vet tech says Streak is very happy chirping away at them whenever they enter the room. Need to call back at 12;30.
Betty my Foodland is terrible for not having items like the $2.00 6 pack after the first day of the sale. They'll give you a raincheck alright for 1 !!!!
no pee??? glad at least he isn't stressing about being there..waiting until 12:30 makes for a long day for you..our Foodland is great, usually they have skids/skids of what is one sale
I bought coke Sunday, then yesterday and likely again tonight, at that price how can one not stock up..find I drink less when in plastic bottles, take a sip when you want, one bottle sometimes lasts for days
I'm sitting here hoping that Smokie, Streak and Callie all do well and start feeling better.
M, I loved the you tube. I'm sending it to all my friends. The garden club girls will especially love it!
Crissy - hoping and praying for you to get that job! It sounds like you'd have fun, and they they're fighting over you lol
When we moved to Calgary, our Baby didn't pee the entire move, until we had a litter tray for her - apparently they can hold it until they know they're home.
I'm hoping that Smokie, Streak & Callie get better soon........ Callie's likely going to adjust to being blind, so many pets do - they have senses that we lowly humans don't :-)
I haven't heard about the job yet....... they said I'd hear after the Board meeting (which was last night) and they'd let me know today. Please pray that I get it.....I'm on pins and needles!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still early in the day Susan..just nice to get a call so you know if you do or don't.
... I guess it's early in the day...... I'm impatient though lol
nothing worse than waiting for an important call
bet there are butterflies fluttering in your tummy
you got that right..... I keep thinking that they're calling the successful candidate first, and putting off calling the unsuccessful one cuz no one likes to give bad news.
Oh Susan I know just how you feel. Once I interviewed for a job and they said they would make their decision on Friday afternoon and then let everyone know. Well F, Sat and Sun came and went so I was convinced I didn't get the job. Monday morning around 6:30 the phone rang - I got the job. My butterflies had turned into something much larger as the weekend rolled on by. Hopefully Susan they will let you know one way or the other soon. Sending positive thoughts.
Dianne
Dianne, does Streak play outside much? I ask because of his symptoms. I lost my twin boys, Kliban and Caliph, solid white, blue-eyed tabbies years back. They were okay, and then they were both sick. The vet said poison...look for antifreeze.... A neighbor was dumping antifreeze in the easement...
This link may help answer some questions.
http://www.felinecrf.org/causes.htm
wow, something to think about isn't it.
hmmm with Dianne living almost in the wilds not so sure she lets them out..perhaps when she and the dogs go a walking.
Told Missy and Riley this morning, 'now don't you two get sick'
Hi Betty. That is what I tell my 4 anytime they go out. For the 2 older ones, Max and Mea 19 and 18, they go out, stretch in the sun, roll in the grass and then find a sunny spot to nap. It is the two younger boys that wander a bit...usually not more than a house or two away, and all the neighbors know who they are...one neighbor said something about Bob chasing lizards and she didn't like it. I told her her I would be happy to keep Bob away from her lizards, if she would stop walking her dogs through my yard and scoop up after them instead of walking away from steaming piles....she seemed offended....
hahaha Jean - tit for tat, eh? She lets her lizards out in the yard to sun, I suppose, but not in the doggie doo doo lmao
It's almost noon, and I did what I didn't think I would - I emailed the original person who called me in for the first interview. Told her I was waiting on pins & needles. Hope she thinks this is a good thing, not a bad one..........
offended??? omg it's you who should be offended. 4 kitties, must keep you going
Missy is not fond of the outside, however come spring/summer she does go out but Riley, at this time of year not interested in going out except on a sunny day but come spring, she comes and eats then back out and I rarely see her.
several kitties think my back porch on a cold night is their refuge..don't have the heart to shhh them away however they scram when I open the door
as long as she doesn't take it that you are desperate! lol
must be hard for individuals who interview to call applicants to let them know they weren't successful knowing they need a job.
I just from tot back from he dentist. I started having a little pain when I was in San Diego but dealing with the radiation was all I could cope with. I'm getting better from the radiation and the pain was getting worse so I went to see our new dentist, a Mexican woman. She doesn't speak much English and my Spanish is limited but we managed to communicate. It took about four x-rays but she found that there was a little piece of root that got missed when I had a tooth extracted several years ago. It may work its way out on its own or I can have it extracted. For now, I'm taking antibiotics and pain killers.
If it's not one thing it's another.
Saying prayers for all the people and furbabies. Grateful that all mine are doing fine now. Max is still jumpy when he sleeps but when I disturbed him the other night he growled and snapped (no contact) and jumped off the bed - much better than attacking.
They have finally been grading the road from town out to where I live. It has been a mess since the hurricane which happened while I was gone and going to town was slow and painful.
I did grocery shopping after the dentist and then came home. I'm tired. Still not completely recovered from the radiation and having a tooth ache doesn't help but I am much better. I've been having a few hours of energy every other day. Think I'm up to about half a day now.
Time to lie down again.
hugs, katie
You are right Katie when you say if it's not one thing its another..hope now that you've managed to get to the dentist you won't be in so much agony.
great news on the road being graded, hard on vehicles..your car is working well now?
How is tony and the family?
have a good nap
good - lay down and get better, Katie!
I hear ya on the toothache - I would like this tooth extracted, but the dentist says "no". He wants to keep as many in my mouth as possible.......
I hope this tooth of yours gets ALL the rest of the way out, on its own and quickly! Maybe the pain (after all these years) is it working its own way out
Well, time to get some quilting done - I found all the Round Robin quilt pieces I was working on, and have them either done, or laid across my sewing table, calling to me lol I know Just what I'm going to do with these last 2!!!
You will be glad to see the backside of those round robin pieces
Will be a big surprise to those who they belong to, likely they forgot what they lookedlike😘
Good to hear from you Katie, but, hate to hear about the dental woes .. nothing worse .. hope the meds work well for you ..
Susan .. I am a TERRIBLE waiter !!! Just get myself into a real state .. I do so hope you hear soon ..
Dianne .. fingers crossed re Streak .. Smokey is doing better .. but ,we're watching him closely .. he and Gordon went to bed and Lorna and I loaded the dogs into the car and we went to town so I could get some sewing stuff .. got the 'darning needles' .. have fixed the sox, certainly NOT a professional job, but, they have no holes now ..
I went to the DollarStore and looked for the eggs .. NONE!!!! .. lotsa Easter stuff out .. and, for any of you with a 'hot flash' problem .. they have small colourful fans in awesome colours, bought Lorna one .. just need 2 AA batteries and it works like a charm .. we're going back for a couple more LoL
Best get movin here

I have LK's and Mittsy's done. Working on Dorothy's (to go to Mary, her sister), now.
Have the fabric, but wouldn't you know it - I've been tripping over my rotary cutter all this time, now can't find it - If I can't today, then tonight I get a new one - I have blades, just no cutter LOL
Streak is still at the vet's and will remain there overnight. He is eating and drinking on his own which is a good sign. Still won't pee for them;
Jean Streak and Sassy do not go outside. In the warmer weather they do go out on the deck off of the kitchen. Since they are white I have to be careful they don't get sun burned. Plus Betty is right they are not allowed outside due to all the critters around here who would love to make them their dinner.
Dianne
I'll bet everyone is going to be so happy to get their Round Robins back.
yes.... and I am so very truly sorry I didn't get them done before.
My humblest apologies.......
'nuff said, I have to get going on them.
I found my rotary cutter, so going to work on them right now.
No call yet Susan o let you know about the job? Maybe everyone was so close they are having difficulties deciding..don't give up yet..yeahhhhh you found your cutter.
I must be a scissor and rotary cutter fanatic, have drawers full of the lol
Just teasing you as friend can tease each other re round robin..lordyi had piece quilted shortly after I sent it out.
Likely streak is faking it Dianne, enjoying the vesta doing ins. Lol
Glad things are looking up
Doing happy dance
Mom said her girlfriend is going with her to buffalo Monday and they will stay a day or so
Big smile
