Yes, J.B. Hunt is a transportation logistics company, they haul all kinds of freight. They employ more than 14,500 people in 400 facilities across the lower 48 states, including the corporate office here in Lowell, in Northwest Arkansas, which happens to be about a mile from my house. They are a fortune 500 company and say this about themselves
"We're a great place to work, but don't take our word for it. Fortune magazine named us to its list of 'America's Most Admired Companies.' We've been named six times."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._B._Hunt
J.B. Hunt passed away from a head injury caused by a slip and fall on ice in December 2006. His wife, Johnelle, took over the business and runs it still today. That place I interviewed at a few days ago, Ozark Guidance, was founded by Johnelle Hunt.
There is a lot of opportunity here, WalMart was founded here, in Bentonville, about 20 miles away, Tyson Foods is here in Lowell, and J.B. Hunt is here in Lowell. What's odd is Lowell's population is only about 5000 people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowell,_Arkansas

I knew you were there!!!! I could feel it. David came through his surgery and I saw him for a few minutes in ICU. They are keeping him asleep for now as he gets terribly restless during the waking process. He has a trach tube so he can't talk and is restrained so he can't pull out any lines. OMG he had soooo many tubes. They did 5 bypasses and now he has wires and a titanium plate in his chest for the rest of his life. He will have to carry a card with him at all times.
But he is alive. I guess another day of no medical help and he would have died. He is my stubborn and independent one. I'm off for a bite to eat... More later...
woooooo hoooooo Crissy!! Lots of love, prayers, and positive thoughts for you, re: JB Hunt!
So THAT's why you asked about phone interviews :-) I kinda wondered......
1 3/4 hours from now, and I'll have my 2nd interview! Maybe this is "Job Month" in DG lol
oh how wonderful, to hear how David is doing!
I'm glad she felt us there, praying as only Prayer Warriors can do..........
Dear Lord, bless David in his healing, and thank You for the skillful hands of the surgeons You placed in David's care. Please watch over David and all his family as they watch over David. Amen
Me .. again .. Barb posted on the prayer thread that we've been using for Gord ..
David will lose the tubes slowly but surely .. and, he will be restless for a few days .. just a fact when you have a long anaesthetic ..
Just SOooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy, but am continuing to keep the prayers going east :-)
~M~
Here are prayers for a fast recovery!!!
Susan good luck with your interview!!!!
Saying night night .. have some company coming ,,,,
David and Barb and Norm are on my mind .. prayers continuing, from my heart to God's ears ..
~M~
OMG you have no idea what I felt today. I am able to read email but that is all. I honestly knew each and every one of you was there with us. I could feel it.
Dave texted us at 5:30 am that he was scheduled for 7. Told us not to try to get there before - that he knew we loved him - and that he would see us after. So we didn't get to the hospital until 9. Norm spoke to an ICU nurse who checked and he was still in his pre-op room! So Norm went up to check (up another floor) and they said they were getting him ready to go within the hour. He was "loopy" relaxed so Norm came back down to ICU with me. At 10:30 the OR charge nurse came and told us he was prepped, all tubes in and that they would be starting the operation around 11.
At 2, she came back to us and said the five bypasses had been completed and they were ready to close. at 3:30 She came back and told us that his chest was wired and the titanium plate was in and that he should be down to ICU in about a half hour and that once there it would be another hour or so while they got him settled in. His ICU nurse came out and identified herself and told us she would be his nurse there. A lovely lady and very professional. Finally at about 4:45 they said we could go in to see him.
Dear Lord, I was scared. He had so many tubes and wires and breathing tubes in. He was sound asleep. His nurse said he had gotten very restless as he was trying to wake up so they restrained his hands so he wouldn't pull anything out. She said they were trying to keep him asleep a bit longer and asked us not to try to talk to him. I felt so helpless....
I felt good that I had seen my son but then it was time to go and let them do their job. I told my other children to stay home tonight and let him sleep....Tomorrow is another day.
Oh Barb bless you, that is so stressful but I am glad that you could be there with him. I'm so sorry it took so long to get him into OR. Yes, let him wake up slowly so he doesn't pull any of those tubes out. I've never seen someone come out of the OR after having bypass surgery but I've heard there are a lot of tubes involved. He will heal fast and be able to do more than he has done in many years and will feel tons better while doing it. I'm glad he has a good nurse, that is awesome! Many prayers Barb!
Joel is home and my chicken is watery and not cooking fast enough! I'm thinking about putting it in a pan with a half a teaspoon of corn starch so it will thicken up.
Thank you Crissy. When I counted, he had ten different IV bottles hanging on four poles all around him. No wonder I was scared. The nurse was so nice though reassuring me that hey would take good care of him. Between the tubes down his throat and the catheter and all the med tubes, it was amazing; And then all the wires monitoring his heart and who know how many other functions? It is a miracle what they can do today. A few years ago, I would have lost my son. Of course it helped that his surgeon is the number one heart guy in NH. He really lucked out!
So glad to hear the update from you Barb. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
Oh my Barb, all that would be scary to see. Most likely will be Sat. before he is fully awake and alert. Medical miracles are all around us these days. Be careful outside and get your much needed rest.
Barb, been saying prayers all day for you all. So happy the surgery is behind him, and now the healing. My friend Bob is from CT, and he has had similar device in his chest for 15 years now. He goes to Yale New Haven for his heart specialist and as you said, they do amazing things. Bob was in his early 30s when had his issues start and is 53 now.
Crissy, we have a BIG JB Hunt up here in Niagara Falls. I have a friend that works there. For the phone interview, they asked DD time lines, and her side of the story, what happened, what she was told....and if they put anything in writing. Just remember, when it kicks in, you will get a BIG check for all the back time/accumulated time since you were fired and applied. SO, sending prayers for that too.
Hugs to you all
Debbie
Girls finally left, I did come and sneak atthe thread and saw the report from"M" that you had posted, just now read your post..Lordy not ure I could have and led it, I'm not his mother anemia nervous wreck..
As you say David is in the best of hands andyoudearfriendhad norm with you
Exhausted you must be, am sure you are tired but likely won't sleep.
Now for the healing to begin
Tonight we will let the Lord for watch over David along with those competent nurses.
Lindakay, how long before you find out mri results
Susan, how dis the interview go?
I w ill get the results next Thursday when I see my Dr.
Barb, I hope you got some sleep, I know waiting in the hospital is very stressfull!
Up with the dogs at 2am and watching the night sky and thinking of David and Barb and Norm ..
All those IV bags and the pumps running them and the beeps and the bings and bongs mean something to the nurses, best you just look at them and pretend they're naked Sunflowers LoL
I will say, that a rule of thumb we followed was that 48 hours post op was when the patients had their crummiest day .. they were sore and crabby and not at all nice to deal with, but, it passed ..
As I said yesterday Barb .. from my lips to God's ears .. if there is one thing David has going for him it's lotsa folks rootin for him :-)
Crissy, did the sauce thicken ?
Out for a quick shop .. -16F ..brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Good Morning! Joel was feeling his oats this morning and got me up at 6. BLAH!! So since he went to work I've been job hunting.
I have an interview with that staffing company at 10 this morning, then I think I'll go to an Allstate office and see if they can lower my insurance rates, State Farm just upped my homeowners insurance rates to $198.00 a month!!!! It went up $100.00 last month. Insane!!!! If I were to put my two cars on it, the payments would be $300 a month. I've heard from others that State Farm has started price gouging their customers so it's time to move on, if I can. Liberty Mutual won't take me because the previous owner of the house filed a claim for severe roof damage due to hail, I hope Allstate, or someone else, can help me.
Susan how was the interview?
Debbie thank you for that bit of information. They have a two page timeline I typed out, so I'll just print a copy and go off of it. I still haven't heard back about my commissions, even though my old boss said I do get them. I will have it subpoenaed if I have to, and if I have to do that I will go all out for all this bs, you know it's been a month since I was let go and I have to wait until the 28th for Unemployment review????? I might call them today and ask to be bumped up, if possible, I have to have an income, this is how people end up homeless.
M no it didn't. I think the added pineapple chunks messed it up. By the time it got done cooking the chicken was overcooked and icky, but the flavor was there, the pineapple was inedible nasty. Oh well, I will try again later.
Barb with every surgery my mom has had, and there are A LOT of surgeries, over 40 of them, her third day after was always the worst. She got to where she would say she felt good right out of the shoot and I would remind her that the third day is going to be awful and to not panic, it will pass. She calls it 'the third day blues' LOL!
crissy my homeowners i around the same. ? 126 monthly. but to raise it that much is crazyness.
Our medical insurance ( back in the day ) raised it yearly , The last few years they raised it over 100.00 we paid almost 800 for a family of 4. ! yikes.
hope the job comes through for you soon.
not much going on here.
My homeowners was $108 and it jumped to $198. Allstate said they would take my homeowners coverage, the price would be $89 a month, but I have to add the two cars onto it, with the Honda being in question as we have hit tire tread on the freeway and we were rear-ended, both in 2013, it's got two claims on it. My Corolla has one claim back in 2013 when Dave decided to pay someone to wreck my parked car, (his intentions were to wreck my car so I wouldn't have a car to drive so I couldn't get to work so I would lose my job. He also wanted me to pay $1500.00 so I wouldn't have any money. Little did he know my deductible was $500 and it was 100% driveable, they wrecked my rear bumper) so they may consider the cars high risk, that was all through State Farm. The cars are now insured with Direct General, $108 a month for both, down from State Farm's $300 a month, which was due to all of those claims.
Morning all,
Omg the sun is out big time, haven't seen it for soling was unsure of what it was.😝
Now it's not short/short time but that is ok
Guess I will go to buffalo with rita in the morning as much the same weather is being called for
Barb, here is hoping you had a good nights sleep, well as best as you could under the circumstances and hope that David had a restful night..has norm returned to work or is he staying by your side today..doesn't work the weekend does he..bet he is fretting just as much about you as he is David.
"m" how is gord feeling?
Been wondering how Katie is doing
Lindakay hoping you get some answers
Was going to go to town aand do some shopping today but seeing I'm heading to buffalo tmr think I'll just stayin my jammies and play...after I dust and vacuum..with sunshine beating in I see dust every where even though I did it but days ago
Yesterday while keeping David in my prayers I sewed, got another star throw top made then when the girls were here last night the want to make some so while showing them the techniquei almost have another done..that ok, they will be gifts for 3 nieces
Best of luck on the interview Crissy, wouldn't that be something to land that job..
Wow Crissy, that is high premiums
Funny how you insure against accidents then policy skyrockets
Other insurances then don't want to take on the possible liability..hope you can reduce your insurance premiums..takes a bitofeffort trying to find a new carrier though.
I'm with same insurance sinceroger and I bought the property on the lake but after this flood issue when policy comes due in November I'll be doing like you, changing
Betty it's not for a specific job, it's just their screening process so they can try to place me somewhere. I did have a staffing company offer me a recruiter job when I first moved to Arkansas back in 2007, went to work with the State instead, I'm still kicking myself for that one. What's funny is when Joel was doing Outside Sales for a staffing company called PeopleSource up here, he met these people who work at the one I'm interviewing for, he said to mention his name but I'm worried that they didn't like him as they were in competition with each other, and he did win lol
Thank you!! I have to get ready and all I want to do is go back to bed. Ha!
Hi, i made it to the new room!
Thank God for answered prayers!
Such a relief to hear of Heather's mass being a cyst, Yikes it almost sounds like a mans problem with the stones! Painful but, oh my gosh so much better then the other.
Another Thanks for Davids surgery going so well. Keeping you all in Prayers for a speedy healing.
it's amazing how quickly they get you up and moving.
LOL, Joyce and Crissy, I still got mine too. lol, stopped the monthly 5years ago in April!
Still get the night sweats tho.
I'm sick again. Don't know how the heck i got, it but here it is out of the clear blue, this is the pits.
Well anyways...I must apologize. I swear i posted my pressies from Susan/101 for Santa Warrens gift exchange. All i can say is with the tablet issues I had, well some how it was never sent.
I truly loved my gifts from our Susan/101 and wish to say Thank you again!
Susan had sent me a wonderful The Water Gardener's Bible, I had looked at the very same book at Menards and decided not to purchase it at the time so receiving was a really delightful surprise!
Susan, I immediately indulged in the review of every single page. Yes, so smiling as i've pick up some info on how to "fix" it the way that i want it to go. It's rests on the table so thay i may browse through at any time!
Also, Love the pecans, honey and jelly!
Now, pecans will be used in and enjoyed in our daily brownies!
Oh my gosh can't wait to have some fry bread with honey! You know, i never knew that honey came from evergreen holly bush, that was very interesting to learn.
And We are also excited to try the jelly as a cooking condiment!
Wow, and Oh yes, I love the work Apron!! Already uses that just around the house! Susan gifted me with a wonderful apron made of canvas for my tools. smiled at this pleasant helpful piece. LOL, just have to keep it loaded instead of putting tools down, put them in the pockets!
And a beautiful typed note with Sentiments and rich history of the Jelly and honey, Yesthe Apron is perfect.
So i finally uploaded my photo's with the new camera!
Oh my gosh what a difference in quality...I'll be a snap happy popparazzi (sp?) once again.
lol, so far The birds are my main subject.
Well, I don't know why these are sideways! They are upright in my file.
Going to try another...Our Very tall beautiful Christmas tree.
Geesh...maybe the files are too big, have no clue..hands on the hips, sorry.
If anything, you'll get good exercise for your neck muscles.loll
Good luck on the interview, Crissy!
Mine went fine - 20 min, and the Minister asked most of the piercing questions. I saw the previous interviewer nod a few times at my answer - so hope that's enough of a good thing to get me hired.
Dr's office just called to have me come in to discuss my x-rays @ 1pm. Having a friend drive me to the Drs. Will tell him about my painful chest muscles - had to stop singing at Choir practice last night........
Hey Judy, sorry to hear your not doing well. Hope you are better soon! I love those pressies you got from Susan/101!!!
Susan, I hope it is all good news from your Dr.
Well geesh...Lets see if the bird pictures come out straight.
So...now this is frustrating, how will i share picture if they all come out sideways??
Oh yes wishing Crissy and Susan best of luck in the interviews.
Yikes Susan, sure your hope knee is ok.
Oh goodness Betty, lol on the elders bickering. Hope they just need some time to them selves.
OH Maan, Also...yipeee Sue, wanted to say congrats on your message classes. Now are you certified?
After viewing my pics you'll have to practice on the neck...
Oh wow lose power for a few hours and the world explodes...... in a good way with so much going on.
Crissy, girl I am so glad to see you back. Missed you! Good luck with your interview.
Susan I hope your second interview goes in your favour.
Barb and Norm you have been with your David in my constant prayers. Very encouraging news.... isn't it wonderful when there is a fantastic nurse as a go between.
Judy excited to see your pics... doesn't matter to me whether they are sideways... I can crank my neck or better still move the computer around.
M still cold up your way? It snowed a bit overnight but is still bitter cold out there. The pups run right back to the door almost before I can even get out the door. Frank had moved wood that he had stored under his cottage for 4 years and put it in my carport when he was home from Egypt over the holidays. It makes is almost too easy for me to get wood into the house. It burns fast but that doesn't matter it is wonderful heat.. Where it is stacked I can run out in the middle of the night in my slippers and housecoat and get an armful.
How are Gord's days playing out M/ Good with the bad? So glad his buddies are coming round. Our borrowed son plus the butchers from the IGA (Warren worked there for a few years when he got bored with being retired) came 2 or 3 days each week to either just talk or play crib if my guy was up to it. Break for Warren and a break for me. These guys also offered to come and stay overnight as W got worse so I could catch a nap. I will never forget their kindness. Well the offer of staying overnight was appreciated I couldn't sleep with them here anyway. Have 28 marked down - Club D will be right there with you.
Betty how are you feeling?
LK how do the dogs get along with the parrot?
I went out for dinner on Wed. night at an old neighbour's and I swear between her lovely seafood meal, the leftovers she sent home she put some kind of sleeping agent in them as I haven't been able to stay awake for longer than 2 or 3 hours. at a time.I got up at 4:30 am for a couple of hours this morning, started to read and fell back to sleep. Woke up at 11 am thinking it was Sat already. I'm ready for another nap.
Later gators
Dianne
Judy, that cocktail is beautiful.
Dianne, the dogs would like to eat Paco for dinner. He only comes out of the cage when the dogs are outside.
My parrots were good friends with the dogs, they'd share treats with them. I had a blue front Amazon named Paco and a Citron Cockatoo named Kiwi. I raised Kiwi from the time she was a few weeks old, she just had pin feathers when I got her.
I just had the best job interview ever!! Betty you will laugh, it turned into a placement temp to hire position to an Office Manager position in their office!! Their current office manager gave notice this morning and is leaving at the end of February! Now, I can't wait until the end of February to find a job, I have to have an income, and yesterday would be good, but I can hope and pray they call me to start training real fast, just to seal the deal, but they haven't had time to analyze how they are going to go about this. I don't know, I think it would be a fun, rewarding job. But then again, there is the JB Hunt interview on Monday, which has been my company goal since I moved up here in June 2013.
Susan I'm glad your interview went well and wasn't the 2 hours mine was! I had to take a long hand math test, omg I haven't done math long hand in probably 15 years, what a mess!! Waiting to hear back from your doc appointment, but you probably haven't been yet lol
I missed you too Dianne!!!
LK we don't want the dogs eating the parrots for dinner!!
Judy the pics are awesome!! I don't care that they are sideways either, and I have had that problem and don't remember how to rectify it.
I'm hungry, I have no money and no gas to get anywhere, and even though there is food in the house I don't want any of it. hhhmmmmmm
Barb I'm thinking about David and hoping he is comfortable.
Afternoon, gee where did the morning go??
I'm still in my jammies but that's ok if someone else drops in I'll pretend I'm just getting comfy for the evening. 😉
Melanie dropped in and stayed an hour, asked while they are on vacation in the islands would I pick up Noah from work, said I would..maybe he and I could do supper and a show one night
Hated to ask how he is doing but thought I better. Mel said this week you could really see him trying, he went to his doctor's Monday, said he finally confided in him re drug use, doctor gave him meds..Mel said no sense getting it filled Noah because you don't take meds but he assured her he's tired of being as he is and wants help, wow, double wow..
Mel said Greg is also trying
You have to know Greg, what he owns is always showroom condition, looks after all..Noah asked to borrow his seldom day, Greg said ok, Tuesday he said ok, Wednesday ok, last night Noah called Mel, had a bit of an accident, not major but a scratch to Greg would be like a write off but greg took it will, said he had an extra panel and it was ok. Shhhissshhh
Know there are still to be ups and downs but it is positive news
Judy you got spoilt by Susan 101, love all thepressies especially the water garden bible ..evergreen holly bush honey?? Sounds yummy and I never heard of it either..does it taste like bee honey? I can see you filling up your apron with Steve's tools Judy..know how much you love woodworking so it will really come in handy.
Crissy, let's hope one of the two positions pan out..ahhh go and look what food you do have and get creative. Remember I'd say nothing in the house to eat and roger could cook for a gang without going to the store.
Dianne, wonderful you got out, think you got spoilt with a lovely home cooked meal..finally sleep comes to you, take advantage of it while you an. Did you get the sunshine I got today?
As for how I'm doing I think I'm finally over the cold, hungry and more energetic and sooo looking forward to Buffalo for the day tomorrow, even the weather knows I need an outing and is cooperating. News yesterday was saying how many died because of cold/flu, can't recall exact numbers but think it was in the 60's
Susan, anxiously waiting to hear what doc had to say
Karen do you still have birds?
Starting to get colder now that the sun is settling for the night..off to turn on a few fireplaces so that it can get rid of the chills.
Dianne, you said you had no power??
Suzanne just called me, seems 1/4 of Barrie was without power today, main grid is out..what a time for power loss
I just couldn't believe when I thoroughly went through vacuuming and sweeping just how much dirt there was..how on earth does it get in the house..anyway, did big cleaning, want to go and finish a project downstairs but think a nap is calling my name..best be rested for tomorrow, planning on leaving around 6:30am
Have fun shopping Betty. I get extra JoAnn coupons over my phone too. Need to go get a couple things but not really keen on going out right now.
I just have 2 canaries now. I gave my parrots to a good friend so I get to see them, just don't have the room here.
What, Betty is taking a nap??? ^_^ Betty, are you taking your Mom to Buffalo? I think you told her next time you go, she could go too?
Betty, what did you mean when you typed, "Noah asked to borrow his seldom day" Glad to her Noah is trying to help himself!
Love canaries but they wouldn't do well with missy and Riley. I did have one when I was young, loss our home to a fire and canary as well.
Because Jeff hardtop ive me new email address because I could remember passwords to swith over to this iPad from other iPad i had to enrol again atjoanns, got a 20% off of everything so will use it up tomorrow..lots of supplies vs fabric needed
Getto have breakfast atihopandeat at ponderosa before heading home..can't ask for better than that.
Plus im antsy to spend those gift certificates lol
Came upstairs, got 2 star throw quilt tops done so I've done plenty enough for today
Wonder what news Barb got today with regards to David..praying all is well
