Rm 301 "Sweet Interruptions" Hotel

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I just got an email, inviting me back for a 2nd interview - that job I interviewed for, last Saturday.
2nd interview is Thurs at 6pm. Same church, I have choir practice at 7:30, so if the interview is long I may just stay for choir practice.
If it's short, I'll go home in between. Church is only 10 min drive from home.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck getting your loom together Susan! And good luck on your next interview!

Morning everyone!

good morning
Lk i think insurance is just getting bad everywhere. ? To expensive no matter who you are. Seems like a no win situation all around. I do hope she can get some help fast ! I think Dr's are the main problem. They just don't seem to want to do anything for fear of ??? cost ? .
well kids have school today. thank goodness !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Linda has the PJ swap open.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1384534/

Yeah, I hear ya on the insurance. Several times I had to tell the Dr. that our insurance will not cover that med, and he had to change it to something else.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good morning everyone- coffee's on!

ah, the pj's.......... I still comfortably wear the cotton nightgown, and the red flannel pj's I got from previous swaps :-)

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

My friend Ray is a fighter, boy!!! He is still with us, he gave his friend the finger when he told him he looked like one of the 3 stooges lol plus nurses had him sitting up in a chair yesterday. But he still only has 10% heart function.

Susan, I quit bowling about 3 yrs ago because my average kept dropping lol I too carried a 172 average. Well this morning mom ask me if I would bowl on the summer league, it's a no tap and only last 16 weeks. Winter leagues are 33 weeks and way too expensive!!!

Going to do some house work, my mom HATES it! She always did yard work while dad did the house work, HMMMM look at me I do both lol!!!

Hope you all have a good day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Still sending prayers for Ray!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Still saying prayers for Ray! He sure DOES sound like a fighter! lol good for him!

we 5 pin bowl, Cindy - and you? This year's league is much cheaper, cuz we didn't get to bowl Sept to Dec inclusive......... What's "no tap"?

sending Ray our prayers. LOL had to chuckle on the finger LOL
Lk insurance is such a crazy thing. The Obama Care system has lost me so many times in their system.... Those people who they hired are ..... well... it isn't nice.
I always get the wrong info

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LOL Susan what is 5 pin bowling?? No tap is when you get nine pins and they call it a strike, very fun to bowl because you can get a No tap 300 :) which will never happen for me

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Most of the doctors I see are in the same clinic. I think all insurances you need to see your primary doctor first. I only waited a couple days before I got call from cardiologist dept. Tomorrow I go to have an echo gram. Heart surgeons, etc. are in Los Angeles. Huge place as I looked it up on the web. Hope I don't have to wait too long.

Ray is such a fighter, God Bless him!! God does work in mysterious ways that's for sure. I hate housework too, would rather be out in the yard. But, had a hubby who didn't know how to do anything, should have taught him from the beginning. He loved to work on cars and fish, but that never helped me out.

OMG, Susan that loam looks too scary to me. I do hope you get help setting it up and getting instructions on working it. I know we all will be waiting to see your first project.

Nice weather and outside is calling me, but have to get work inside done. Finally I got the clothes for charity picked up, this time by the cancer society. I almost forgot to set it out. Now I'm filling another box up with odds and ends.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck with the echo gram Pegi.

good luck Pegi. thinking of you.
well Tom won't be comming over this week :( i m so bummed. He got an assignment from a lawyer friend of his and need to get done by friday. He will get paid twice as much for this project to be done by friday. So you can't complain i guess.
low key week. not much planned. to cold to go out. im a weenie in the cold.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Just got a call from Doug...someone may be buying the house in Marysville :( Have to go down Thursday because property management wants to do a walk through. I've had a sickening feeling since I paid the rent that something was going to happen :( I am worried sick about Doug and Amy. He can't move in here with mom and I, not with another dog and all the stuff he has and besides my mom does not like him ( She's never like any man I've been married to) I hate not knowing what's going to happen, guess I will know more on Thursday When it rains it pours

Ray is still improving, and here the doctor said he would be on a ventilator for the rest of his life and only has 10% heart function and will be in a long term facility. I have a funny feeling that something bad is going to happen........

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I've been to the doctor, LK. I'm on 1500 mg of antibiotics a day. Seems I'm getting better as I can move around today.

Good luck on your second interview Susan.
I haven't bowled in donkey's years and I'm sure hitting a strike will be a miracle, if I don't go through with the ball!! Lolol.

And you as well Pegi. God and our spirits will be with you for your ECG.

Awww Sue, absence does make the hearts grow fonder. Nope, you can't complain for soon he'd be cooking you an extravagant dinner with a bottle of red wine!!

Sorry to read that you're facing an unwanted challenge, Cindy. Hope there will be a resolution that Doug will find another affordable place.
Perhaps your mum is just overprotective of you.

Sisters, please say prayers for Barb's son who would be going through a quadruple bypass.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, keeping Ray in our prayers, asking Him to do his will for Ray!

Barb, keeping your Grandson in our prayers as well.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I think it's Barb's son, LK.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thank you dear friends. It is my son David who is to have surgery. We thought it was going to be today but he texted me at 5:30 this morning to say not today. Hopefully we will know more later today.....Waiting is killing me.... At least he is in the hospital and in good hands.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Will be keeping your son David in our prayers!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

5pin bowling is just what it sounds like - bowling with 5 pins, instead of 10. The ball is much lighter, with no finger holes - balls are generally around 5 lbs, instead of the 11lb ones for 10pin bowling.
Counting is different too.

Just back from getting estimate for repair on my car - co will send info to insurance company.
Repair won't happen until mid-Feb - YUCK....... driving around with a damaged car....... It's drivable, but really really ugly.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, I have some good news, about Heather. A few days ago, she was running a high fever, in a lot of pain, and was vomiting a lot, so she went to the ER. They gave her more anti nausea pills, and pain pills, and told her if her symptoms get any worse, get back here ASAP! The next morning her fever was climbing, so Andy took her back to the ER. They did an ultra sound on her ovaries, and told her that the mass she was told was cancer is now gone. The Dr. did more test, and blood work and told her she does not have cancer. That she had a cyst in her ovary, and it ruptured. Cancer masses will not do that. So now they are treating her for the infection, and are trying to get her scheduled for a complete hysterectomy. It was an OB-GYN specialist that told her it was cancer. I am so relieved to hear it is not cancer, and surgery will help her out

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Yay, yay, yay, yay, and yay again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO happy that they found out why the cyst was gone, and are treating her! and Hooray it's not Cancer!!!!!!!!!! What a relief.............

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is a huge relief!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Never seen spin bowling, Susan. If the ball is lighter, it must be an easy weight for the young kids.

Hurray for the good news LK. So glad that it's not cancer. That OBGYN should refund her money!!

Barb, it's an easy procedure nowadays. Yes, David's in capable hands and tell him that this five foot two Asian had a 5 bypass... and I know he'd be fine.

Cold and don't feel like going out for Wednesday night's preaching, but I will.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

spin? no 5 PIN (I know, I put 5pin.........)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lololol Susan!~~
See what poor vision can do?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, if your going out, it must mean you are feeling better? Church with your friends is a wonderful place for friendship and healing.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well downstate at the Cadieux Cafe,(just outside Detroit) They have something called feather bowling. It's done outside in a sort of ditch and does involve a feather. Seems to involve beer too. Some of my kids have played it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E94gb18YJKA

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

omg - that's FUNNY!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

David is having a 5 pass too Jaye. It is scheduled for tomorrow.....I thank you all for your prayers.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Barb I know you're worried, but please know we are praying for David tomorrow.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

back from the Dr's, etc
He doesn't like the looks of my knee and it worries him. He's given me paperwork to get an x-ray done tomorrow, and thinks I'll likely have to get another MRI done. Can't have the cortizone shot he was going to schedule me for when I saw him yesterday. Gave me a prescription for T3's and told me to continue taking Ibuprofen.
Going to be able to make the 2nd interview at 6pm. A friend is taking me for x-rays tomorrow am - will pick me up between 9 to 9:30 am. Another friend is picking up an order of fruits/veggies that's due to come in tomorrow afternoon.
Thank God for good friends, a caring doctor, and a husband who will be there any time I need him!!
Bob took me out for dinner, cuz he didn't think I would be able to "bustle around in the kitchen"..... nope, sure wouldn't be able to!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, I pray there is nothing serious with your knee!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

thanks. Even without meds, this is feeling better & swelling less, that it did last time I fell on same knee - other difference is that I'm getting better care from a better Dr........

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I made mistake on day for echo gram. It wasn't yesterday, but today and think I was there about 45 minutes. Such a friendly young man, think he knew my whole family history by the time he got through. Amazing to see my little OLD heart just pumping away. He couldn't me anything but said my doctor should have results by this afternoon. I have a large hiatal hernia and he said that could be pushing on my heart. I told him my mother told me not to talk to strangers and he said his did too, but we weren't strangers by that time. It sure helps when technician makes you feel at ease. I'm now done with that part, now waiting to hear from Cath dept. I feel really good, even went out to pull a few weeds and cut back some rose bushes. Had to give that up because of my back. Waiting for pain pill to work and I suppose about that time I won't want to clean out the flower bed.

Sending prayers for all those who need them, which it seems it is most of us. It feels like spring out once again. Looks like we won't have much of another winter this year and that means another year of drought.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I made it to church yesterday, but didn't keep silent as the coughs took over. The bag of cough drops saved the church I know as there were others coughing away.
This morning, I was supposed to be at the dentist, but thank God, I called and the receptionist told me he won't take coughing patients, so I had to reschedule!!

Cold and I don't know whether this will be a bad winter, looks mild so far. I'm never ready for snow anyway.

Karen, I looked it up and it seems to originate in Belgium. There is another place that does feather bowling, and it is in Monroe, Michigan.
I don't think I'll be able to bowl with a straight face, after a few glasses of wine!!

Susan, I'm so sorry your knee is giving you problems, but yes, you have so much to be thankful for. Nothing as great as a supportive mate, friends and qualified, empathetic doctor.

(((((Pegi))))) Wish one of us is living closeby to you so you won't be alone. I know you have your son, but nothing like a woman friend to hold your hand. You're lucky to have a technician that doesnt mind small convos, some are just too 'procedural'.

Barb, may your son be blessed to be handled by competent caring professionals from the beginning to when he'd be discharged.

Got this verse I'll share with all. It is one that has helped me get hold of my emotions, if I don't recite it, I'd probably lose out to Kel. Very simple to memorize.
Make it your spiritual arsenal.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxieties upon Him, for He cares for you.

With some of the money you all had kindly gave me, I treated to a pound of raw jumbo shrimp. I intend to cook that when he isn't home. I've been craving for shrimp, and you all know how expensive it can be.
Thank you so much sisters.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

so glad you're having the shrimp you've been craving - a nice treat for you, when you deserve it most! :-)
you get shrimp, and he gets tube steaks LOL

I have been craving shrimp too Jaye. I will head on over for some good eating. Glad your having a nice treat.
not much going on this week. Tim won't make it in this weekend again ... .Tom will come in friday night late.
Austin has two games. sat and sun

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Come on over Sue!! He's off to don'tknowwhereandIdon'tcare.. so.. I took a dozen out and fixed curry with potatoes! Oh my.. I savored each bite. But there's still the gravy left, and when you get here, I'll thaw out more!

Susan, I have been rationing his food, but he seems to be putting on more weight. I have that strange feeling that he's been eating out too. Those high caloric food go straight to his guts.
Yes, next time, I'll get the cheapest tube steaks!!

OMG Jaye. I made chicken curry with potato's ! i ate that tonight. LOL
