Betty, I made one of those panels and I did not sew the lights in. I just cut a small hole and popped the lights through.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Maybe a drop of fabric glue by each light?

Victoria Harbour, ON

They don't say to but I find it neater as I put a backing on..just have to do a few here and there

Here is where I'm at so far!

The piece will have a Christmas backing similar to a pillow and a pouch to hold the battery pack

He thought last night that his surgery would be today. Got a text at 5:30 this morning. It said "word is not today".... I texted him back that I would call later. By the way, his name is David....
I thank all of you for your prayers and concern. It really means a lot.

Victoria Harbour, ON

David I'm sure Barb is wishing surgery is behind him as you are as well so that he can recoup and get back to his regular routine..not sure if you answere, is David Brandon's dad?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

No - David is my one child with no children. He is divorced but has a significant other (female) who is currently working in New York. She is a nurse and works on contract. Hers should be finished this Saturday.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I will post pics of prezzies I received - I WAS waiting for Katie to reply where to send her portion, but as she hasn't replied, I decided this am that I would post the pics anyway..... including the one that Judy sent for katie to give to a child (a stuffie - so cute!).
Will post today, later.

Victoria Harbour, ON

that will be wonderful Susan, thanks
just that I'm opening a new thread and wasn't sure to post the Christmas info on it

will do in order to keep track

special thanks

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

feeling a lot shaken up atm - I fell off the top step from the deck to the pavement......
banged up my already injured knee from 4 years ago, and it's swelling on the outside of the knee - previous injury was the inside...... torn meniscus then.
won't put weight on my leg, but will try to keep bending it......

Victoria Harbour, ON

best you get to emerge and get it checked out!
got to be so careful with the snow/ice

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

if there was snow on the stairs, it was only about 1" square......... it's 6c right now, so very little snow, which is why it hurt to fall to the pavement - no snow to break my fall.
I was carrying a pillow that I was throwing out - wouldn't it have been nice to fall on it........... but no - it was thrown clear, in the fall - not even the garbage bags cushioned my fall.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes Betty is right( even though she doesn't follow her own advice), should get it looked at. Do you have a cold pack to put on it? If not grab some frozen peas or something. You want to stop the swelling.

Any thing with the knee makes me cringe. Mine are so bad the the merest bump can make me throw up with the pain.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ouch! You better go and have it looked at.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Bob came home, gave me codeine for pain, and an ice pack - he's gone back to work.
I called my dr (just saw him yesterday for reg check up lol) and will go for 5pm app't - Bob will take me.
must have banged my knee and outside thigh too, cuz think I'm going to bruise on thigh, and the front of my ankle is sore and a bit bruised.
app't is at 5pm today.......6 1/2 hours from now

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you were able to get an appointment today!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

my Dr is awesome - I can get an app't right away, any time.......
he has lots of patients, and he asks what else he can do for you (not one of these - "only see me for one issue per visit" type of Dr's). I saw him just yesterday, and here I'll go back today lol
Codeine is kicking in, and I've found one of my canes, so getting around alright.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Not too much walking on it. You're not feeling the pain and could do more damage. We'll have a full report when you return home please.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes, ma'am.........
I've only gotten up to find my cane, and at the same time to have microwaved soup - didn't want to be carrying the soup back to my desk, so ate it at the counter.
There are many times when I'm glad I live in a trailer - lots of door knobs, furniture, walls, etc to lean on in such close quarters :-)
still icing my knee and my ankle is hardly felt at all, but I know it's the codeine, so no - I'm not dancing on the table today. Won't be going to the luncheon I was supposed to go to, either..... :-(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, I have some good news, about Heather. A few days ago, she was running a high fever, in a lot of pain, and was vomiting a lot, so she went to the ER. They gave her more anti nausea pills, and pain pills, and told her if her symptoms get any worse, get back here ASAP! The next morning her fever was climbing, so Andy took her back to the ER. They did an ultra sound on her ovaries, and told her that the mass she was told was cancer is now gone. The Dr. did more test, and blood work and told her she does not have cancer. That she had a cyst in her ovary, and it ruptured. Cancer masses will not do that. So now they are treating her for the infection, and are trying to get her scheduled for a complete hysterectomy. It was an OB-GYN specialist that told her it was cancer. I am so relieved to hear it is not cancer, and surgery will help her out.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank GOODNESS! a burst cyst must be painful, but at least it's easily treated, and fixed!
and thank goodness the Dr checked to see why the cyst was gone! She could easily have been let go with a "it's gone, so good for you" kind of attitude. oh Hooray, again!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She is so relieved, that it is not cancer.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'll just bet she is......... wow!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh that is awesome news Linda, So very happy and relieved for Heather. Hope she doesn't see THAT Ob-Gyn again. Kind of young for a full hysterectomy but definitely a better diagnosis.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She has had serious female problems for years.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

how old is Heather? I had a full hysterectomy when I was 42

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I was 36. & not sorry to be done with it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG LindaKay, see there are Miracles to be had and now it's David's turn..
Susan, I'm surprised they didn't tell you to go directly to hospital to xray first incase something is broken or cracked..great you get to see your doctor today though.

my Linda just called, says her David requires two specialists to operate at same time..general Surgeon for hernia and urologist to remove large cyst in testicle (he's been fighting cancer) She says its very tricky because it is so close to his artificial phynceter and could result in complications..she'll be a nervous wreck until it's done..not likely until March because of both doctor's case loads and the fact that David has been looking after her

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh gawd yes - the FREEDOM of no more periods...... they were awful, which is why I had the procedure done - passing cysts... :-(

Victoria Harbour, ON

was in my early 30's if not late 20's when I had mine done, sure didn't miss them

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I spoke to the assistant at the front desk - they don't recommend anything - that's the "Dr's province"

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Heather is 29.
I was 36 when I had mine done, and no regrets here either!

Sending prayers for David too. How is Linda doing?

Victoria Harbour, ON

she is her own worse enemy..she is doing her fitness routines but for some reason she does damage to herself.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Doing something wrong if she's hurting herself.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not in her exercising, like last week she was going around the table, nighty got caught on a chair and she fell..she is just accident orone. Linda is the lady that fell down the marble stairs in Austin, Texas when we were there

Sure need to rest my head, got 4 calls this afternoon from mom

When she was ill aunt Muriel went and got her in the city and drove her the 100 miles to her apartment, mom stayed there almost 2 weeks, then aunt Muriel brought her home and aunt Muriel got sick, she stayed in bed for part of the week and guess today they had each had enough of each other

Fighting like little 83/86 year olds. Grrr
Calls were. "Who is right, who is wrong'?

Aunt Muriel got up, packed her car and left for home, told mom she doesn't need her help,
Mom, worried, took her car and drove north, another fight

Omg aunt Muriel accused her of putting something g on her pie (wrapped in plastic) there were 2 pies, one ok..mom said aunt Muriel got mad and threw the pies at her

Then I get a call, it's mom again. ,I'm allowed to come and visit for a weekend when you aren't busy aren't i? Now where did that come from

Told mom not to drive back to the city if this arguing continues, come sleep here

Grrrrrrr

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh sorry I didn't realize that was the Linda you were talking about. Like my greatgrand, Payton, needs bubble wrap.

Hmmm you are in the middle and cannot win this one Betty. Sorry

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Do you have "time out corners" for these little girls? Throwing pies....... really........... so childish!!
