Big hugs Bev, I remember Debbie and I walking through your memorial garden and talked about your losses..some so very young ..So overwhelming and yet another one to get through. Does your sister live nearby? Sending prayers and Susan said it, we are your online family and are here for you.

My Doris is in the nursing home in Carlinville just 12 mi away. I go see her every other day. My other one Phyllis is in Newton Kansas 10 hours away. I will try to get on here more often. You are my family. I love you all.

And we love you, too, Bev :-)

I'm still here .. not online much as I have been having company ..
One firefighter told another firefighter who in turn told more firefighters that Gord was not feeling well, and, well , they started to call/visit.
Oh how I wish it was summer and they could all be OUTSIDE ..
Anyway .. it has been nice, makes Gord feel better ..

Nephew with the military in Belgium is taking extra precautions due to the happenings in Paris .. my brother is watching the news closely ..

M so glad Gord has some buddies who can hang out. Friends are the best medicine
not much going on here. Baseketball . went to grocery and stocked up. My freezer for some reason defrosted ? so instead of taking a chance i threw out the meat. It was half defrosted half frozen. Not worth gettting sick over IMHO.
but i did luck out at the reduced meat counter today. found 4 flank steaks. all half off. Pork chops and some hamberger. i will be busy tonight vacum sealing it and cooking the hamberger.

If there was still some frozen and it smells ok most likely you can cook it. If there was any green and slimy to it.....out it goes.

Mom called, Aunt Muriel drove her home yesterday morning, by last night Aunt Muriel was so ill, bedridden so now it's mom's turn to try and nurse her.

Had a phone call a bit ago. My #2 son David is in the hospital. He has had a heart attack. He has been transported to the heart institute here in Manchester and will have a catherization(sp)in the morning. What is going on? That makes three just these past two weeks!!!!! I can't go there tonight due a cold but Norm has gone and my #3 son is going too. Hopefully I will be able to go tomorrow. Norm is bringing me home some masks to wear. Please keep him in your prayers....

Bev, same for you. Know how much we all love you, wish I was there to give
you a hug and sit on the swing and chat. Although I am sure is a bit cold for that
but some hot tea and good friends is what you need.

Tomorrow is party day for me. DH goes back to work! It has been long 3 1/2 weeks.
Sure am looking forward to shutting the TV off (he has it on from 6:30 a.m. til 10:00 when
he goes to bed) and just hearing silence or maybe some music.

Melanie used my sewing machine last week and broke a needle, noticed some problems with sewing, took bobbin casing out and the hook (for lack of better description) is broken..will call a couple of shops in Barrie and if they have one I'll take a ride if not I have 2 pieces from the weekend I put binding on, I can sit, feet up and hand sew

Would like to go pick up what indeed in Barrie though while weather is co operating

Thanks for your well wishes and prayers dear friends. I'm sure he is going to be fine. I think this may have been a "scare" attack. I'll go to see him myself today. Norm went last night and got to talk with the Doctor. Doc didn't seem overly concerned but wants the cath done today to be sure. Not fooling around about it which makes me feel better.

I felt much better after Norm got back. I will go over later today. Need to see for myself even though I try to avoid hospitals during flu season. COPD limits me in ways I dreamed......

You will feel much better Barb seeing him for yourself..did Norm bring home a hospital mask?
If not mabe use a scarf. With Norm working will you be able to drive yourself? It's the long. Walk from parking lot to main door that worries me..not sure of how close the hospital is from you could you take a taxi so you could be dropped right off at the door

Sitting here waiting for 9:30 as to call the shops re part I need, by then 1/2 my day will be done.

Norm is working in the area today and will come get me and take me. This hospital is a big one so he will get me a chair and push me. I do so love this man!!!!! His job is one that he can take an hour or two and make it up at the end of the day or the next one. Love his new boss.....

Lorna's Dad has stage 4 COPD, and, both he and her Mom have this crud that is going around .. he is having a terrible time with chest congestion .. do make sure you wash your hands and wear a mask .. and us hand sanitizer too ..

Going into the city with Gord (at least I think so), he isn't up yet .. yesterday was NOT a good day for him !!
BUT .. his shingles are looking better .. a PLUS in my book ..

Ladies, I need to ask for prayers for my Daughter in law. She has been really sick since early last year. Last Sept. after many ER visit's, they finally figured out that she needed an emergency surgery for her gall bladder. During the surgery, they noticed a mass in her right ovary, and they said it was nothing. A lot of women get them, and it ill go away. Well, It has not gone away, and it is getting bigger, and she just found out it is ovarian cancer. No telling how long she has had it, but with this Obama care, she is still waiting on a plan for treatment. Seems no one cares about her having cancer, they just don't want to treat her because she is on Obama care.

She should go to a cancer center. I'm sure she'll get the help she needs there. They know the ins and outs of insurance.

Lordy LindaKay, how horrific..
There are no words, here is hoping someone starts some type of treatment.

what in the blazes is Obama care? It doesn't seem to be doing anything for your daughter in law, LK......

She can't just go to a cancer center unless one of her Dr.'s gives her a referral, and they will not do that! It will no be paid for if she just goes.

Sue, Obama care is the new health insurance that President Obama forced on everyone in the US.

Different in MI. My friends sister who has the same as me just went to a Karmanos Cancer Center and got all she needed.

Is that for sure? maybe if she calls and asks?

Shaking my head here, to need care and not to be able to get it..so sad!

Tonight we start our bowling league - I know, it's late in the season, but the lanes moved last Spring and they've just started up. The lanes thought they'd contacted Bob before Christmas, but they hadn't - I found out last night when I called them, but we're only one night late - they started the league last Monday.....
I haven't played since shortly after I injured my knee (torn meniscus & now osteoarthritis). I'm going to take ibuprofen and a topical spray beforehand, which should help I hope. Maybe this 1/2 season will help rather than hinder...... it has been almost 5 years since I fell (April 2nd, a day that will live in infamy......)

LK - that is just WRONG....... in so many ways. Can she not sue the hospital that told her "women get theses masses, it'll go away" rather than testing it while they were already IN there? I mean, really - she was already open, how expensive could it have been? I know, I know - I'm talking from the Canadian side of things....... but really........... it sounds cost counter-productive to find out afterwards and have to do things now.........
This just makes me madder than mad because it's human lives we're talking about!!

In a word, NO! She was told, even though they saw they mass, they were not getting paid for the cancer, it was an emergency for her gallbladder, and that is all they did.
Her Dr. told hr last week, that since the mass has grown, they need to do radiation first to try and shrink the mass, then they will do surgery. She is just waiting for someone to call her with an appointment.

So much for the Hippocratic Oath.... Shame for the Dr that said he wasn't getting paid.
