I"m going over to Ann's today - not sure what she needs/wants me to do, but she's moving on Jan 10th. I helped her a wee bit last time, but not much, for sure. She's a little confused by all this - doesn't move much, and now it's from an apartment to a care home. NOt as much downsizing, but still...... some

Waving to all! Won't be long now that 2014 will be gone but not forgotten! So hope 2015 is a better year for all of us!

Busy busy, just popped in for a sec. Real estate called as we were leaving for downstate last week. Could the show the house at 10: A.M. today....NOPE. They can come at 3 or 4. We got in late last night, needed a bit of time to neaten up.

Very quiet here Miss Amelia stayed at her Grandpa & Nana's for a few days. They were so excited to have her there. When we left she said "Bye see you next week", She made mention of home at bed time and was reminded she wanted to stay said "Oh yeah next week".

Mel just came in with homemade soup, she was on her way to her mom and dad's..
They were to have left yesterday for a 3 month stay, she has a blood disorder and is losing ground..they gave her several years wupith special meds but they are no longer working, didn't she end up in emerge, she has shingles and is beside herself, no USA..

Mel saw me cooking, a rarely, she thought she would treat me...be great for tomorrow.

"M" perhaps you are right, our Marion has eloped with Johnny Depp.

Susan, maybe she just needs the company, I'm sure you will help where able..

Good morning - got a startle this morning, as I heard heavy footsteps on my deck when I was getting ready to go to Ann's........ it was the mailman delivering a Santa Warren present!
I have presents for me, and for Katie! So sweet..... I won't post the pictures, cuz I need Katie's address to send her portion on to her - we have Identical presents :-)
I will tell who our Secret Santa is though - Thank You, Judy!

Yes, Ann is elderly - about 86 - has always lived with her husband/kids/on her own when hubby passed.
yes, loss of autonomy...... she's very independent. Drives her own car, etc. She's just getting frail - I look at her, so tall, and so capable, and forget her age often. But, she's doing the smart thing - getting into a senior home before she can't make the decision on where to go, and ends up being rushed into urgent care or something.

AND..... I am so forgetful - it's not today I go to Ann's - it's Wednesday lol guess I have more "day" today than I thought........

Lazy, didnt want to go to town again so white sugar, few carrots, butter and maple syrup..sooo yummy, might not be any left..if I eat quickly they'd not know there was turnip. Lol

re: Ann - that's how I found out today was the wrong day - I called her to say I'd gotten a pressie in the mail and would be a bit late - excited to open Judy's presents. Ann said "my goodness - not today! Have daughter coming by, and you're to come on Wed, last day of the year lol"

Omg my mom looks terrible, both from under the weatheramd back to not cooking for herself.

Aunt Muriel the elder is as spry as an be, here she is looking after mom

She ate well though but by the time she ate and gabbed a bit she wS tired so they've just left and she will get back into bed and sure she'll sleep

Imagine, I'm already in bed, cozy as a bug in a rug!

I really hate hearing this about your mom, Betty. She was thriving so at the center when she was there. Sure do wish she had decided to stay. I know it was tough on you visiting there so regularly but she just seemed like a different woman while she was there.

No, not going anywhere. Just after Bill having 3 surgeries this year I'm anxious to move on to a hopefully better year!!

Busy group here today!!! That is wonderful. I was so glad to read Katie's post and yes, my tears flowed too. I watch the TV with all its violence and mayhem and then read about the goodness of some. It renews my faith that all aren't bad. Rest up dear Katie....

Sorry to hear Mom is not doing well Betty. As JOyce said, she was doing so well before.

Things are quiet here today. I am going to ask my neighbor if she would like to do Betty's project with me. Sean came for an overnight and it was easily apparent that all he wanted to do for the most part was play with his Christmas laptop...Far be it from me to say no to him. He did thank me for thinking of him though so I guess that was good....
I meant to post yesterday that we finally got the results of Norm's PET scan and MRI. NO sign of anything anywhere!!! We are over the moon...

yes, please, Betty - I am so forgetful lately. I just got 2 reminders to pay regular bills, and I can't see why I forgot them in the first place....guess I was distracted?!?! That's not a good or great excuse.
Anyway, they're paid now

Susan, I find the holidays are tough on the 'old bean' for keeping the days aligned .. had Xmas fallen on a SAturday, and, Boxing Day the Sunday, I would have been no problem, but, I thought Sunday was Monday and Monday (today) was Tuesday !
Luckily I had nothing impending ..
Ann is very astute re going into the care home while she can still make the decision HERSELF to do so ..

Hoping it's not the same time as when I'm having someone come to quote on putting a toilet downstairs..nothing fancy,,just with my hip/knees it gets harder,harder to go up the stairs a zillion times, having one downstairs would make life easier..nothing major, just toilet

I have a baby quilt to make and then back to tree skirts. I asked everyone to post their tree skirts so I could put them in an album. I had some of them but just the latest ones. It's been a fun day on Face Book. DDILs mom and brother were saying "Hey aren't we family"? I just said I wasn't done making skirts yet. Then her mom saw the table runner I made DD and said she'd rather have that. It was a pretty quick project so it's do-able. Then my girls posted the ones I made them in the 80s. Good grief they were nothing to the ones now. Also posted their tree top angels I made in porcelain then dressed in antique style dresses almost that long ago. I'm glad to be able to put them in an album. Only one missing is the one I made our current problem child. I really doubt she still has it.

Oh yeah I have some Tepees to make too.

Does make you feel good and feel it was worth the effort making them doesn't it.
I enjoyed visiting homes this christmas and seeing all the gifts given over the years displayed in place of honor.

Heart warming it is. I've a couple of tree skirts left so will make a few more and the grandsons can put them away with their quilts.

Karen,mthat candle runner and ornament runner were easy and quick projects to make.
Sounds like you have a few to add to our heist as list.

This week I have to get a tote bag sewn for a swap I'm in..have a couple in stock but keep those just incase I need a gift.

11F here this morning, Riley wanted out but wanted in soon after.

Sue, always a zillion things need done when you have two young children and a life, drop in with a 'hi' when you can.

Am up and at it early this morning, housework done except for off/on cleaning in the laundry/workshop area..10 minutes here and 10 minutes there is starting to show.
e-mailed Jeff yesterday and told him I have a biscuit joiner, router and attachments and the snowblower that needs to be gone..likely he'll drive up on the weekend and pick them up.

anxious to get the top done

the next few days I work until I drop, don't like having a sec to think..you'd think after all these years of Roger being gone New Years day would take on a new meaning vs his death

3 dogs ran out, did their business and were in in short order !!
AND, today I MUST go out .. Lorna has some lab work due, and I have a cousin in Hospice who is losing ground, would like to pop in and see her and her family.
As well, I have yet to visit my 99 yr old Auntie Gladys in the Seniors Home .. soooooooo, best I get at it !!

got to say that I'm assuming it's the way all the rooms are off angle that when you are upstairs, even top of the stairs and calling I cannot hear when in craft room..notes will help, hate to miss one of them..

I'm going to take a guess and see how close I am..only want the toilet for now, have water in that room for washing hands, it's the pump up kind..how close would I be if I said $1,500

Unbeknown to me Jeff got here mid afternoon for a visit, said he wanted to get me set up on new iPad, seems Kyle set up the other one, used random password and couldn't remember so Jeff had to set me up with new gmail acct. grrrr

Then came getting tv in my bedroom set up, by now Greg dropped in, Jeff was calm moving cables, Greg was watching telling him how to do it...shaking my head!

Furniture got here at 7pm , will organize the living room tomorrow, this gal is tired, ready for bed
Aching all over so best I go turn everything off downstairs and call it a day
