Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Welcome friends old & new

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I love those casserole carriers, you don't need them that often but when you do.....

A very Merry Christmas to all.. Those who have celebrated and those who have yet to. We'll get to ours this week-end. One gift did not arrive and I doubt it will as I have no shipping notice. It's for DGS who is 16, I know for a fact he will love it so perhaps he won't mind so much waiting a few days. I do have a bit of a gift for him so he won't be empty handed.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, I too understand about your Christmas. Enjoy the day with your furry family. ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))

Barb, have you hear about the PET scan yet?

Debbie, glad to hear his job is safe for now! So sad to see the economy the way it is!

Wishing each and everyone one of you and family a very Merry Christmas!

Just got a call that his benefits run out tomorrow. So as of Friday, he h as no sick time and has to rely on NYState disability, which takes about 5 weeks to kick in, if it is approved, and the most he gets is $ 150 a week.

It just went from bad to worse.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OH NO! That is not good. Praying they it get it to kick in sooner!

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

Debbie, sorry to hear about the disability, seems it couldn't happen at a worse time.... praying too.

Where to even start, you know my day started early, visited all on my list, feel good about it but came home feeling down

paul absolutely loved the sign and Wilena his wife loved her blanket.

Was just ready to leave when he got a call from Cindy his daughter, her husband's niece
3 years old had just passed away. She had hert problems and many surgeries since her birth, they thought she was winning the battle but the Lord needed an angel..devastating for the family.

Dropped in the see my aunt Exilda/uncle Louis, there they were holding hands on the double recliner..Joyce you remember visiting this young couple when you were here..he's 93 and she 90..I swear they keep getting younger.

Then off to visit my favorite uncle, uncle Allan, he loves going to timmies every morning, appreciated the gift card. Left my godson Paul and Doug' gifts as they will visit him tomorrow, then it was to my BIL Robert..he looked terrible, had the flu/cold which turned into pneumonia, he was hospitalized for 10 days, he looked terrible, didnt take long to open his pressie, a nice no sew blanket, covered himself up and was ready to doze off

For you Canadian gals, I stopped at Swiss chalet drive through and picked up a ' Christmas festive' meal. Dressing was delicious as was the entire meal, couldn't eat it all, who knows,if I can't sleep I just might have a midnight snack.

Had some calls to make, trying to get tomorrow organized

Started with Mom , she just doesn't sound good, told her I'd come early afternoon, she still says no, just incase I could catch it

Called Bernie, meh and his wife Charlene are in bed sick, said I'd drop in tomorrow on my way to the city, another don't come..said I might drop the gifts off for them

Big sigh

Called Greg, Melanie had the name of two families who have nothing, Mel /Greg gabe toys and clothing ..Greg thought the kids would be looked after but not the mum so waiting for Mel to call, have some Xmas bags filled with the no sew fleece blankets so would like to run out and drop them off so don't want to get comfy then have to go out

Ooops someone is her, back in a sec

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

"M", those outfits are so cute!
Had to believe the card took longer to get there, than the package did!

Hey Susan! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Betty, sorry to hear of the little girl passing, that is so sad! Sending prayers for the family. Prayers for all those that are sick too!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hadn't been to post office in over a week, what a nice surprise to see a card from Susan 101 and LindaKay..reminds me, took in groceries and mail is in the car, must go get them so I can set them out.

"M" love the photo's..ohhh what a mess, guess it has to be cleaned up right away..

Debbie, there are no words, does it ever end for you.

Rained good part of the day, sooo foggy out there..do you think Santa will find me?

Waving to all, even though you may not be mentioned by name I so hooe you enjoy your evening

Back in a bit

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Have you decided if your going to Florida or not?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Re the MESS in the garage ..
DH even when he's feeling 100%, is NOT a 'doer' .. he is in all likelihood, going to SAVE a good portion of the junk that fell !
Trying to get hold of Murray, perhaps he can come over to help, but, between work and Christmas, it looks iffy ..
Susan, I WISH it had ALL broken LoL

Betty, how sad re the little girl passing away .. ...

I'm 'on call' for Hospice .. usually do it, have only been called once in the 4 years I took call ..

Have to admit it, I am TUCKERED .. don't know how you do it Betty ..

When I was at Paul's today he keyed in flights leaving from buffalo which were a reasonable price this time of year, would leave Friday or Saturday but. But. But, think I just want to recoup and maybe repaint the family room, take a week to do it and just kind of do my own thing

Here propped up in bed, have a quilt patternnim reading, word book..took pain meds so likely doze off shortly.

Melanie called, she ran out of time to make Kyle's girlfriend Brianna a Xmas sock, last week I told her I had made 3, adpsked if she could have one, ooops put sewing supplies in them and gave to June, pat and Aline..told her that one never knows, I'd I sleep like I didn't last night there may be one ready in the am

I'm to be at Greg's at 7am

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

how very very very sad to hear of the little girl passing...... but, as you say, God needed an angel - cherubim...... Devastating for the family, at any time, but especially at Christmas - do they have other children?

Bob insisted I open one present for Christmas - asked which one he'd prefer, said the rectangular one - a new keyboard to replace the one I spilled pop on lol It's an ergonomic one - slopes forward....... yikes - it's going to be interesting learning curve.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

A very Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Slept well until a half hour ago, now I'm up, hot chocolate in hand..few pressies under the tree that need opening..

Susan, have fun with your keyboard..

Victoria Harbour, ON

shhh don't want to wake you all

did get that Christmas stocking Melanie wanted..used what I had..picture doesn't do it justice

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

I knew you would get it done Betty. Just didn't expect to see you up at 1 AM!!!!

Doing my breathing machine early so we can get a move on to Bob's and the girls to enjoy a very first Christmas morning with them. We have always gotten together on Christmas Eve but the weather played a big part in the changes for this year. After the morning there, it will be off to Stacy's and the boys for the afternoon.....

Hoping all is well with you all and sending my prayers to any in need.....
Love,
Barb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Merry Christmas everyone.
Betty i know she will love the stocking.

Victoria Harbour, ON

She did love it!

Watched Greg/Mel open their gifts, got there at 7am, wanted me to stay for breakfast but have to get ready for the day, besides I was so fuming inside thought I best leave before I got angry and exploded.

So angry with Noah, you would not believe the gifts he got, all of them but Noah gave a gift card to Kyle, in a bag he had repurposed, didn't even change the name on the bag, was a bag I had given Caleb last weekend, sat down grouchy opened gifts, never once said thank you to Greg, complained how he didn't like a couple of his gifts, as Greg opened his gifts, made rude comments, I did say if I was being abused with words such as his dad was I'd leave...then he wanted his mom's c.c to order something on eBay he wanted, she told him to wait, she was making breakfast, he slammed refrigerator door and used the "f" word, went into his room,

Greg said he was so disappointed that Noah hadn't even gotten Mel a box of chocolates for all she does for him..

Greg and Mel were so even toned, spoke softly as not to get him into a further rage...

Jeff just called to see when I'd be coming, I started to cry..so much effort went into making a perfect Christmas for him and that is how he behaves.. Best mom ever she is, broke my heart to see her sadness

Here I am, crying like a baby, big sigh..time to compose myself and co.ntinue with my day!!

Hope you have a good one

Merry Xmas to all my angels out there thinking about me and I you. Love BEV

Oh Betty, so sorry to hear about your day with the family! I think I would have followed Noah to his room, and giving a good tongue lashing for sure!

Morning Bev, how are you doing?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Merry Christmas Bev and lindaKay, hoping this is your best Christmas ever.

Lindakay, would have but he was in a mood to argue and I didn't want to be the one to set him in his plavpce..next time I see him rest assured I will!

Just spoke with mom, she keeps telling me ot to come but I really feel I should.

Wondering if I wore a mask and also gloves and stayed but for a half hour or so if I could still catch it..has been over 10 days since she hadps been bedridden

What to do, what to do

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I would go see her Betty, you can get a mask to wear! Has she seen a Dr?

Verona, ON

Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh Betty I am so sorry to read about Noah's behaviour but I have to tell you I wasn't surprised. Sometimes with teens having problems stressors like Christmas, birthdays set them off. I was praying this wasn't going to happen. Kudos to Mel and Greg for keeping their cool with Noah.

Hope Katie was able to make like Santa and her travels went well.

Safe travels to all out on the roads today.

Dianne

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! I MISS YOU ALL!!!!!

Pacifica, CA

wishing you all a merry christmas
and a healthy new year

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

I agree with Dianne, Betty - Christmas could just be the stressor that set Noah off - no real excuse for bad behaviour though!

Santa gave me a new keyboard last night! And, what I always want - lots of bubble bath lol
And a gift cert from Fabricland! whooooooo hooooooo! btw - the lady making it out for Bob had to have misundertood him - she made it out "from hasbend" lmao But now I can get a discount card and really "go to town" lol I'm a happy camper!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND MERRY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE OF YOU VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE!

Agree with Dianne Betty, Xmas is a stressor to teens in turmoil .. good for Mel and Greg for their patience, but, , too am sick at heart for Mel and Kyle ..

Been up since 6am ! Gord bought a 5 gallon gas can for Lorna, and purchased a 3' high gift bag to put it in .. the bag had a pic of a Westie puppy on it .. Piper wandered out into the living room about 6am, saw the bag, and pitched a fit .. we all jumped up and out ofbed, and once we saw what all the hullaballoo was about, we just laughed .. poor Piper .. we had o hide the bag LoL
LOTS of wonderful pressies .. but, the 'boogieman' is still hanging around .. I got up to the bathroom twice to have a little cry ..
Gord is out in the garage rying to sort out the 'mess' .. we offered to help, but he said NO .. doubtless he is KEEPING the junk !!!

Turkey is in the oven .. and I am gonna just try and relax
Have a pic of DS Murray in his Santa suit .. pretty stuffed with pillows, he's so tall and slim .. he filled it with LOADS of love .. made Mommy proud ..

Betty .. go to your Mom, she is not contagious now .. 3 days to get it, 3 days to keep it, 3 days to get rid of it .. (IT being the crud)

TOODLES

Betty - again, I agree with the wise women of this room - go to your mom - been 10 days since she got it!!

Marilyn - doubtless he IS keeping the junk lol hubby's do that sort of thing lmao
poor piper lol
Murray looks wonderful!

It's not just teens. My sister who is Bi-Polar, managed to ruin every holiday for many many years. She has finally realized that she MUST stay on her medication.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

My eldest sister is bi-polar, and to some extent so is my son.
I know how feelings can be hurt by my sister's "flipping out" and she's 75......
My son now realizes after 16 years how much he misses his mom, and still isn't going off the deep end now. Used to be that changing things, even if it was from bad thing to good thing, threw him for a loop. Changing from "structured" school time to "unstructured" Christmas vacation took him a week to get used to........ and vice versa. Even going from a picnic outing to a movie outing (because of rain) was enough to throw him out of kilter. We just had to work with it.....

Lyndonville, NY

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.

I hope you had a great day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

So nice to see you all:dropping in
2014 Christmas has been, hoping you all had the best of day..few tears were shed in some of her homes but also a few laughs..Christmas is indeed a day of emotions.

Lovely visit with jeff/Julie, such a joyful relaxing evening..weather was great for ..ONLY thing of concern is I wish they would have called me to let me know Tristen ( Julie's son) had just come down with that nasty fly/cold Christmas eve and was in bed, mega coughing going on. He got up after we all ate, said he would live to try a plate of food, he looked like death warmed over, julie made him a plate, he sait looking at it for 10 minutes and finally said he couldn't eat..know had they told me I'd have stayed home

Called mom and she was adamant I ot come...mike amd Kim were going to drop off gifts and Christmas dinner..she said she was also having a difficult day, 1st Christmas without Jim..I'm to pick her up on the weekend and take her to aunt Muriel's for the week..nice homemade soup and regular meals is what she needs.

Dropped gifts in passing to Bernie and family , simply opened the front door, yelled merry Christmas and left..

My brother Mike called Greg to find out wherei was, he then called Jeff's and we were able to wish each other the best of Christmas.

Was too late when I got home to call my sister Sharon, she had left a message on my voice mail as did Darlene so will have to call in the a.m.

Always have a goal for the day, today is our Boxing Day, much lke your black Friday, going to try and pick up apple air iPad, one I have is their first, the michaels, they have organizing craft units 70% off, then a trip to several furniture stores, looking for a living room outfit..boys tell me their Christmas $$$ seeing as I'm ot going to Florida should be spend on these items..

Might come home with nothing but on the other hand might come home with much lol

Again, merry Christmas

Hooe we hear from Katie today
