I am slowly starting to get organized and begin packing for my trip home. Like Debbie and others, I put on my blinders and take small steps. The thirty pounds of hard candy I ordered has arrived at my mail place so I can pick it up Monday. One stress handled.

Sure glad I don't drink or I'd really be in trouble.

sounds like although not feeling the best you've managed to organize yourself..know you've been thinking of the children and how disappointed they would be..when you get the go ahead to travel home you will take your time right!

Just looked at the time, going to cook supper then it's organize this craft room..have till Wednesday to be on schedule for the sign so not going to stress over it..like you all, what will be will be.

Have a few calls to make so if I'm a good girl and gab while I watch over supper it won't burn

Yes, I finish early Tuesday. I'm hoping to see my regular doctor on Monday to get my pain killers refilled. He hasn't answered my emails.

My neighbors are helping. Dana wrote to remind me that Santa can com on New Years. She went to the Lions Christmas party and said the kids were pushing and shoving. I've had some wonderful experiences of kids sharing, especially with younger kids.

Maria wrote and told me to stay at motels on my way home when I have to stop. An excellent idea and makes packing much easier.

I'm doing laundry.

It's 27 out there brrr but not snowing so great travelling weather.
Jeff said he'd leave the city around 11am so will be here shortly after noon, then Greg and his crew shortly after.

Mom is not very well so cannot make it so will pick a day next week and go visit with her. She does say no visitors as she doesn't want them ill with same thing for Christmas

Sue you are nearly there, less stressful isn't it? Sorry to hear Austin is unwell, hope he has a great recovery and feeling top shape for Christmas

I've an easy day, a quick trip to home depot for small hinges, shaking my head, have about 100 craft hinges and all too big for my liking..over power the cookbook covers so I'll be at their door for when they open.

Did finish quilting the last top in the tote..no project left undone, hurrah for me lol
Don't need it unless of course Greg and Jeff say 'where's mine' lol

all that remains is the binding and I can sit, watch Christmas movies and hand sew it then voila I'm done all but for ordering Chinese Flood at noon for a 3 pm delivery.

Missy sure will miss having a comfy Christmas decorative place to lay!

about Tim Tebow? He went to a couple Wal-Mart s in Orlando and paid for a bunch of layaway s. Cool!!

And how about the guy that gave thousand s of dollars in 100 dollar bills to police officers in a few cities, had them give out to folks in need.
Saw a few video clips. It was really neat. Police pulled people over, instead of ticket they got $100.00 dollars!

Christmas spirit alive and well ^-^

These are the things we never hear about and need to hear about. It is funny how one person's idea can boomerang. The only copycats we hear about are the evil ones!!!! We need to reverse that. Good things have been happening up my way too Thunder and it just makes your heart swell....

One to employees at a Dunkin Donuts, and the others to the staff at a restaurant. Kewl Beans that ..

Had the police at our door (anyone with dogS can relate to what an emergency THAT created !!)
Sems there was some kind of 'situation' going on at the home east of us, if I look out our east window I can just see their roof .. Betty, it's the home Lorna used to look after , landscaping wise etc .. 'Kookie Carol' .. anyway, the 2 officers just wanted to give us a 'heads up that there would be officers walking on our property (maybe) .. good thing they said something as Gord has gone out back in the Mule to scout out wood ..
We always say that ONE day 'something' is going to transpire over there .. Carol is good hearted, but a little too fond of booze and drugs ..

TODAY, I wrap gifts (sure, sure, sure)

Hi Everyone,

I love Jim Croce. Also love the story of the man who sang back-up for him. Can't remember his name but I read about him on YOuTube.

I have the pre-trip jitters. As usual. So I keep packing and putting stuff in the van. Made two trips to Walmart (aabout half a mile away) this morning. Got a refill card for my cell phone but the woman working there didn't know how to load it. I got home and tried but couldn't get it to load. Then I got an email from Maria asking if I could bring her a foam matress toppre - if not inconvient. So I had two reasons to return to Walmart. I did and cell phone is now all better and I have a queen-sized foam topper to add to my load. Maria has serious back problems and may need surgery to fuse some discs so I'm glad to be able to help.

I bought the book "Unbreakable." Written by the same woman who wrote "Seabiscuit" which I really enjoyed.

Aside from feeling ready to jump out of my skin, I'm doing fine.

Everyone just left, Jeff and the boys on their way to Newmarket and Greg,Mel and the boys home to get ready as they are caroling with a group of friends tonight. Said they might drop in if lights weren't out, I'm afraid they may be.

I got spoilt, another gift card from Micheals from Caleb and Braedon, both said it was a good investment as likely I'd buy a craft items with which I'd be making more things for them next year..they've got my number right?

They loved their gifts and the Christmas quilts and all thanked me for the letter written from the heart, that warmed up my heart. Lordy those boys are tall..

Jim Croce, one of my faves as well .. the first time I saw 'Amanda Marshal' in concert, I wondered if her 'spastic moves' had anything to do with him, but, apparently not, it's just her.

Saw 2 police officers walking the perimeter of the property, for what, I have NO idea ..
We took the dogs for a car ride until we got a cell call saying the coast was clear .. these Terriers are such barkers !!!

While thinking of going to bed must have dozed off but for a few minutes, so glad I hadn't, Greg and Mel and a few friends came a carolling..how lovely they sounded

Almost all my packing is done. The biggest problem for me is getting a refill of my pain meds. Doctor did not answer two emails so I have to call his office at 7am to try to get a same-day appointment. I have trouble moving around at all without them. I have lost about five pounds during the radiation, I think loss of apetite is one of the side effects.

"Seabiscuit" was about the horse. "Unbreakable" is about a man who was an Olympic runner and a Japenese POW during WWII. The movie made from the book will open soon. Angelina Jolie directed it.

Tomorrow I have to clean out my little refrigerator. That's the biggest chore still left. I told the woman who cleans my room that anything I leave is for her. Hope I don't forget my computer!!!

The people here are all very friendly and h elpful. And I love having my room cleaned and bed made with fresh linens once a week. But I miss sleeping with the furries - even Mad Max.

Bettty, do you think Noah and you may go to Florida together. How is he doing? Or should I ask, how are his parents doing?

M glad the police said it was all clear. Nothing like a neighbors dirty laundry to ruin a day. I remember watching the news one day and i thought " hmm those homes look familiar " . and low and behold it was my friends house ! ack. Her neighbor made a bomb threat and was a crack house too. The whole thing made the news and everything. Yikes ! This was long before the days of cell phones LOL .

oh i m watching Sound of Music the sing along LOL i m singing along.... cleared out the room, kids went running back upstairs .... the nerve of them.

We had our Christmas brunch with Bill's family today. Lots of fun.

Scramble is what we call Chex Mix only ours is on steroids. We add everything we think will be good and then some Just took the last batch out of the oven, as soon as it's cool and packaged we are done.

When I had asked Jeff what he wanted for Christmas he said there was a tool at LeeValley he could use so I transferred funds, told him to pick it up and wrap..when he opened his gift from me I was quite surprised, there was sunglasses..now who spends hundreds on sunglasses, guess people do but not I..apparently Julie had already purchased what he wanted!

Noah once again seems to be on the up swing, know it's a roller coaster ride, he was very cheerful (minus his girlfriend-Mel said they aren't dating) but from time to time would snap at his dad, they don't mix well.

I'm sure we'd have a great time..he has his g license here but that doesn't allow him to drive major highways and doubt it allows him to drive state side which would mean I'd have to do all the driving..but might do him the world of good being gone for 10 days with me..that's when he'd have to be back to work. have to think that one out and talk to Mel/Greg.

Hope you walk in the store Barb and there sits everything you want in one area of the store.

I've been trying to stay focused on this house! I am really excited as so far my Niece Melissa coming for Christmas!! First time ever, and she might bring my Sister Honee. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Jake is heading out to Colorado on the 26th, So i am Bird sitting. Woah, Pegusas did not want me feeding him! Only allows Jake to feed. But then we tried a different way last night and he was sooo much better. Awe he is now suckling the syring feeder. lol Which if fabulous as i wasn't too crazy about holding his head while forcing food down the throat, yuck! When he gets back in Jan, he'll be in his last 4 months of school!! He's pretty excited.

Oh, James it turns out has a couple of kidney stones, pretty sizable. Not much he can do till it passes, poor guy.
Pammie has now started Chemo and and is pretty knocked out, but doing ok, I guess.
Aunti Jean is doing much better. She had to have Angiogram a stint put in. Joyce going off to Boston to see Brandon Nicole and Irinne.

Oh, but I see everyone is getting Santa Warren pressies, some beautiful pressies...Speaking of which,my sleigh is in the air!! Unfortunatley not going to make before Christmas.. going to check my radar to see where it's at.

I did go to the Company party, It was great to see my old co-workers! Wow, they really downsized. There were about 25 people from my day...What once was a 5 floor company is now only 2 floors and half of those cubicle are empty, I guess alot of people work from home on laptops. it's just so weird.
But you know I had great fun to say i am retired and do nothing against a time frame, mostly.
I went up to see my Center, almost burst into tears...lol it is now the Archive library, absolutely no activity within the walls that were on constant move. Oh what fun We had doing projects! I should see what they have left as far as supplies.lol, I could use some of those shelves.

I better get going here. Got to get to the store...We are having Christmas Eve dinner, need a few things.

Think all my errands are done. Radiation doctor gave me a prescription for pain meds. It cost me as she isn't Kaiser but that's better than not being able to move. Got Tony's Christmas present (new car battery) and ice at Walmart so I can complete almost all my packing today.

Doctor is happy and I'm good to go after tomorrow's treatment.

I'm much more relaxed.

Picked up my thirty pound box of hard candy at my mail service.

Will rest a bit then get back to packing.
