24° bright sun Our 2" snowfall yesterday broke the records for winter in Boston. 108.6" Let's hope that mother nature is satisfied.
weather in the garden # 138
really nice xcountry skiing yesterday - looks like some cold weather this week so should have a few more weeks of snow out there.
rain tomorrow, then freezing.
Bill, I just don't like it as much when you can ski from the unplowed street over the buried fence into my yard! Enjoy your skiing.
Gorgeous day today to be outside. I am babysitting, though, so the time outside was shortened due to lunchtime and, now, nap time. Sigh.
41° rain earlier this morning & still feels damp, which makes it seem colder than usual.
The rain has stopped, some sun peeking through, high of 50.....not bad, considering the high tomorrow is 32!
upper 50's yesterday, 36 today
Very damaging winds......tree hit a truck just to the north of me, driver is in hospital....truck was just crushed! Trees across roads, on top of houses.....nasty! High of only 30 today with a wind chill of 'who knows?"
Theymwere very strong winds. Much colder today. Hard to believe spring is close at hand.
23° bright sun & very strong winds with nasty gusts. Have Dr. appointment later this morning or would stay indoors.
lots of branches down here
Cold again today.....snow tomorrow!
25° & a very nasty wind.
Winter is certainly hanging in there.....why doesn't spring or summer ever hang in there?
Sometimes too hot weather hangs around as well. 26° & overcast--March better be concentrating on being a lamb.
After 2-3" fell yesterday, it's once again snowing...heavily!
got some here as well
still having light snow here, but annoying to drive. 30°
What we got yesterday is all gone. About 2". I got some pruning and cutting back done. And I cleaned it all up and got it out to the street. Jeff is doing reno in the house, so I don't want to take away from that. Heehee!!
snow stopped just after noon. I hope that is the end of it.
I hope so, too, Lucy! Totally sick of it! Glad you were able to prune, Jan.......can't prune here until more snow melts.....if ever......
Usher at church asked if I thought the flowers would bloom before May? or June? I certainly don't think before May. I wonder what the poor crocus think & hope the hummingbirds pause on their way north. I am told they will in insects in the spring, although those are not outside right now. Did in a large cricket here at the computer last night.
There was a cricket in the bathroom the other day....time for everything to move outside, but it's too cold.....teens here last night, warming only to 30....
17° sunny dratted jetstream again.
We had a thermometer inside the house in Texas--we wanted to see what temperature felt comfortable and to monitor the AC temperature. So today we bought a thermometer for outside.
Sunny and 40 today...woo-hoo!
28° bright sun Hope it is warmer this afternoon.
Foggy this morning....showers on & off throughout day....hoping to see the last of the snow-ice!
44° showers this afternoon & there was some rain overnight. Plenty of melting to go, although the back of our garden bench is starting to appear.
Large patches of lawn now visible.......much more to go, though! Cloudy, mid-40s today....
39° rain has stopped, but overcast. In the old pasture starting from the large pine tree, ground is starting too appear. Other places still have snow & Sat. or sun we should get more snow. It probably won't stay, however.
Oh, they are pretty....my foliage is up, no iris yet.....snowed most of today....was slippery this morning, but all has melted except where it landed on the ice piles......
Still snowing--snaining here. Makes the trees pretty, but we could do without it. 36° earlier, but 33° now.
Cold & sunny for today.....high of 40, but right now feels just like January!
34°bright sun good to see some melting on the iris bed, but I wish the rest of yesterday's snow would come off the large branches on the trees. No snow on the smaller stuff.
Just got back from vacation. We were wishing the snow would be gone, but we did hear about the recent snowfall, and it was indeed only a hope. Since we live in the valley, there isnn't more than an occasional bare spot on the slope of a steep hill on our property.
Temp. is 43 so even today the bare areas widen. It's all relative though. In the apirport, everyone was flying to Domican Republic because they thought the high 60s and 70 degree weather in Madrid area was too cold.
giggles. Temp is 39° & plenty of snow to go around.
