A carbon copy of yesterday....gray, rainy, cold....UGH!
weather in the garden # 138
37° warmer tomorrow?
Better weather is coming, but not today! Rain rain rain
As I drove to art class yesterday, I had to pass through the town of Morris just west of my town....the entire town was encased in ice......looked like a winter wonderland! Warmer today....50s.....and 60s on the horizon....Yes!
41° overcast
7 am and there's more sun than all last week. And the spring peepers (the birds I mean) are back!
The kitchen was so bright this morning, I was squinting! Felt like a mole.....will be out in the sun for sure.....
40° sunny & quite a bit of wind.
Managed to hit 55 yesterday....60s today...worked in a few gardens, have a lot more to clean!
Yesterday it got to high 50's here which felt very warm, but the wind was extreme. Finally, today wind has died down and the fire department is allowing burns from 10-4 pm. There are plenty of twigs to make a big pile just from picking up the yard. Also, the suckers and waterspouts abound, but I got a lot trimmed yesterday.
just 45° recorded here. Hubby says it is warm. Warmer perhaps, but still too cold for me to work outside. We will probably get to the 50s around dinner time. A pine tree with a double trunk split over the winter & split off part caught by other trees. We will have to get rid of the split part for safety reasons.
One of my add-on kids just told me it was 68* out there!
It was 68 here as well...did a little work outside, but scads more to do.....have to paint my front fence, but have to clean up the gardens first!
sunny listed in the high 40s tons of pine cones had blown down which get in the way.
68 here, rain late. put up my greenhouse yesterday, put some veggies in it today
The veggies from the basement?
My veggies have to be transplanted....maybe today.....cloudy with showers this morning, clearing late.....may get more raking done.
a bit of rain overnight. 55°
Well, we went to Home Depot and bought lettuce, tomato, dill, phlox (creeping) at 5 for $10. I always vow "never again" at HD and then I just can't resist. DH wants to buy a cup hook and I wander over to the garden department...the rest is history.
Hehehe, I got 3 dill a flat-leaved parsley and a Rosemary. Mine died
yes the veggies from the basement. my beans want to flower already. they were started at the begning of March
Sunny & windy....high of 62 predicted for today.....need to continue cleaning out the gardens, raking the lawn.....
Our 60s are this afternoon. I will work on weeding then. DH has been picking up large branches in the garden. Far more down than usual over the winter.
YES! The yard's a wreck.
Is somebody using my name associated with parsley? I totally deny any personal associations with parsley :)
Now I remember why I never go anywhere in April. There are too many clean up tasks, and if I'm lucky, some baby conifers will get planted.
Yikes!!! I need to read before I hit the send button. It made the rosemary into a capital Rosemary.
Day 4 of clean-up continues......getting a lot done.....the large gardens & front lawn are all raked.....veggie garden next! Supposed to be mid-60s today & sunny.....art class this afternoon.
Near 50° warmer later on this afternoon. Rain possibly tomorrow.
They keep promising us rain but it isn't happening yet.
overnight & tomorrow morning according to the weather forecast on TV.
There are nice puddles this morning
Just stopped raining here, but more showers later today.....grass is greening up!
55 and damp. has rained, more coming
showers earlier today & a chance for more. Helps the fire danger.
Should reach 70 here today.....hope to finish my raking....
Happy garden work, NE area folks. Sunny and wind-free, Already a nice 72 F outside. For me, raking and a burn. The plant orders started coming in, but the ground isn't ready yet.
A lovely week for working outside....I planted peas & a few perennials today...temp was in the mid-60s ... perfect for raking!
Lovely day indeed!
mid 50s here.
Rain has stopped, temps should be mid 60s today....will try to rake out last few gardens....
