Wow Betty - Lots of presents all over your living room! Sure not able to put 'em all under the tree lol
Katie - you're wonderful - getting a wheelchair for your community..... why is it difficult getting them in Muleage? Please get lots of rest.... lol I think someone must have Japanese cursed me, cuz all I've ever wanted was a bit more "boring"..... lol
Bill & Gordon definitely have my prayers...
Karen - who's the adorable little girl in your pic?
Barb - how sweet that Liz donated to the "fund" in your name - that's very very thoughtful........
Liz - you had me lol'ing over tripping over the box...... it snuck up on you! Lovely pressies! "Craft a day"? I'd do one a week...... lol
LOL I asked Bob what he wanted for dinner (thought I'd take out the frozen meat now...) and he said "Whatever". I asked if that was made with a lot of love, and a little bit of arsenic...... LOL
What's your vote, ladies?
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
Susan - my package came from Dianne not Liz. Very special one it is....
Won't touch that poll you asking......LOL
Afternoon everyone,
I sat smillng as I saw the excitement in posts, what lovely and thoughtful gifts they all are.
How thoughtful having a donation given in your name Barb
I want to go back and look at the pressies but know better to do so right now or puff my post will be gone.
Katie, girls all have it right, rest , body needs to heal..Lordy can't imagine all you have to fit in the vehicle.
Liz,you say 'roomate'? Did granny move in with you?
Doing happy dance, haven't stopped working on Ann's Christmas gift since early early this a.m. So pleased its now done..hated the thought of giving Darlene and Rita theirs and oops none for Ann.
Kyle's birthday today so it will be shortly off for dinner with them..Greg said he needed extra tables but I haven't seen I'm yet..best I go clean off a few before he gets here.
Yawning, tired, wonder why
Thanks for the help with fatigue. I am having trouble with it. Since I'm not in pain I think I should be able to be active. Doesn't work that way and I need to be reminded. hugs, katie
Darn!!! I just lost a long post. Grrr. You would think by now I would remember that I can't go back to look at pictures when I am writing a post.
Barb, I am so glad the parcel arrived. I was concerned the snow storm would slow its arrival down. Norm's and Santa Warren's doves are hanging side by side just as I asked at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. A friend who drives for the Cancer Society in Toronto looked for them. She says the wall is covered with doves this year which is wonderful because that means there were lots of donations for the cancer research team. PMH is where I went for radiation.
Katie I too was very tired when I underwent radiation. Listen to your body!!
Betty how are you feeling today?
Boys are hungry they are tossing their bowls around in the kitchen so I had better get them fed.
Stay safe and warm everyone!
Dianne
Katie I felt and thought exactly the same thing when I had my radiation. Everyone else at the Lodge looked like they were undergoing treatment and there I was looking exactly like I did the day I arrived. You are doing great!
D
That is so Sweet Karen. What a lucky little girl to have a Daddy like that. She is adorable....
Almost a Christmas baby. What a fitting name for her.
She's certainly huggable!
Ahhhh, and dad spoils the heck out of her I see. Lol
Beautiful roast beef dinner, imagine, Kyke is 19..teased him, he is now drinking age
He will be like dad who doesn't drink
Barb - not gonna touch the question I asked? lmao
yeah, you're right - a very special present box - very thoughtful........!!
19 is legal drinking age in Canada? It is 21 here in the States.
Morning all
Yes 19..don't think you really see major drinking in teens because it's 19
mild out today
going to play for a bit then head into town and pick up stocking stuffers etc
picture of Kyle, didn't turn out the best, Ned and Sophie giving me grandma lick kisses and kept trying to get on my lap so I didn't get to take many photo's
Susan, I wouldn't touch that one either lol
betty,
omg this will take a whole thread lol
our roommate is my employee jack he is a 21 year old gay man just charming and alot of fun to be around.
jacks mom is a registered nurse but she has m.s and is bi polar.
jack was refered to me by another manager in the company i knew he was a problem child so i liked him when i interviewed him almost a year ago and i saw alot of potential in him growing with our company.
he has had skin cancer and went through cancer trt has a little bipolar in him and when he is frustrated he drinks himself into a complete ass.
he would come in reaking of alcohol from the night before and swear he didnt drink, till finally i let him have it and gave him the complete what for.
over the months he has shown great improvement and heading on the right track.
so 3 months ago his mom threw him out he said he as no where to go, i told kenny and he said we have the back room let him stay till he can figure it out.
his mom would take 3-400 dollars from him every paycheck and go gamble the money away that would just make my blood boil!
it was so sad his mom put all his stuff on the frount pourch i was discusted, so we took him in and the rules are you can stay here put in for grocerys and help out around the house save your money ect.
well he is a slob im working on that, and lacking common sence kenny is working on that.
he has changed his ways dosnt go out much and drink and has learned from us who cares about the nonsence get over it and move on.
we were so honered when he said he was going to get a tatoo from learning from us not to sweat the small stuff and he said living with us is the parents he never had, i almost cried .
so in january he will be moving to san francisco but he will keep his job with me and comute.
i just hope he dosnt fall into old habbits when he moves so thats my good deed. :)
That is a good deed, Liz.
I am up OK. Slept early for five hours. Two hours of early am tv, then a few more hours of sleep.
Feeling OK. I've been having hot flashes along with fatigue so I turned the a/c on. Utilities are included in my rent.
Must hit the road.
hugs, katie
Oh Liz, what a great thing you and Kenny did taking in this poor lost soul..praying lessons taught will remain with him
Thinking of boxes sent Unt and thinking '. Hmmm who has me". You know me,always excited abut Santa Warren..Katie and Susan had me last year, what a wonderful box that was.
Youve been brave Katie, your stay will shortly be over and you will be healing at home. Hauling with furries is the best.
Spoke to Greg/Jeff we will try to get together as a family Sunday at my house and have Chinese food that way Christmas day as both are having Christmas in their homes..I'll go from one to the other if I'm not stateside.
Trying to see if my brother Mike can come and bring mom with them ..waiting on his call
Liz, I think you and Kenny did the right thing, and I too pray he keeps all his lessons learned!
Katie, are you heading home?
For anyone interested, there is a thread for recipes and chat. Come and check it out.

Morning everyone.
8 days till Christmas. Are you all ready?
Sorry to hear about the wet foot. I hope you got dried off quickly so you do not catch a chill.
LindaKay .. one thing I do have is MANY pairs of Crocs .. for just the reason the pair I had on got wet ..
Have had to relocate them to make way for Lorna's wheelchair, but, I can still grab a dry pair when needed .. the Crocs up this way are LINED with a kind of fleecy material ..love, love, love'em :-)
Due to the events of the last couple of weeks, I am SO not ready for Christmas .. thank heaven the Alpaca farm had the socks and toque I was looking for ..
Have only gotten Lorna a wireless keyboard, so far .. DS and fam get CASHOLA :-)
Maybe I'll get a chance to get into a store today .. I can only hope as I have no idea how Gord will be after tomorrow ..
~M~
"M", I am sure everyone will understand your situation and shopping for gifts this year. Cash or gift cards will work just fine.
yes, indeed - many of the younger generation appreciate cash or gift cards (keeps giving while the cards/cash are still around, and afterwards when the gift(s) are bought!) and a lot of the older generation too (downsizing, etc - may choose dinner out rather than something "in hand")
don't worry about going shopping! My goodness - Christmas is really NOT about the gift, but rather the thinking of the person...... "The reason for the season" y'know......
Bless you, Marilyn!
Lined crocs? never heard of 'em. Sounds like a great idea, though!
Here ya go Susan...and congratulations on becoming a Grandma
http://www.crocs.com/comfortable-fleece-lined-shoes-for-women/womens-fleece-footwear,default,sc.html
OHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .. moon .. I am so in love with those Crocs .. betcha I'll order a pair !!
Pink of course .. my pink ones I have now are lined with grey and pink 'plaid' fleece ..
~M~
Nothing beats warm feet....GRIN They had a pair of flannel lined crocs, but either they have sold out of them, or they no longer carry them.
I by far prefer my crocs to the "mule" style slippers/house shoes. Over the years I have seen a number of post-menopausal women wind up with broken bones and sprains from falls caused by a house shoe shifting or slipping on their foot. Crocs tend to stay put.
