Susan, I hope you can get it assembled. Looks like it is complicated!
Best/worse/what did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
I made Sweet Caroline two pillow cases to match her princess bedding. They were so fast, I don't think I will ever buy a pillow case again. Cutting out...10 mins......sewing on serger ....3 mins.
http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/instructions/RollItUp.pdf
French seams are easy enough but I just used my serger to sew together.

yeah, it's complicated, but guess what?
I am rejuvenated in a way I haven't felt in a long time. Bob's son coming back into our lives was great, but having my OWN son come back into mine after no contact for 16 years ...... well, it took a week and a half to get over the shock, but I am SO energized. I feel like doing stuff that I've been dragging my heels on for ever so long. I'm talking YEARS...... as in...... 2 years.
I'm cleaning the house, throwing out unnecessaries, and making room to do stuff.
I haven't seen my sewing machine for a long time.
Right now, I'm doing the sleeves on the knitted sleeping bag for my Bob's grandson to be born Dec 14th, and when that's done, I've got a baby shawl to do - then I'm free to do the other stuff I should have done.
Sorry ladies - my new grandson has to take precedence, but once I'm on a roll (as I am) there's no stopping me!
During the summer (August) when I started knitting the baby sleeping bag, I made so many errors in the knitting, and I'm a good knitter - depression had not lifted enough for me to THINK. I found out yesterday that I knit the body of the bag on needles 2 sizes too big. The sleeves (now that I know) are the right size, and I'll make them fit..... but geeze, what a dope eh? And I can't tell you How Many Times I pulled the knitting back - I so wanted to do it, but it wasn't working out in my head.
Anyway, now I feel back on track. About time.........
Susan, sounds as though you are on a mission!
Jean, thanks for the links
Think after the weather of the past few days a few more Canada geese are heading your way..it's quite a journey for them when you think of it..wonder how long it takes them?
Trying to sleep, overtired and no can do
Went and got some magazines to leaf through
We have some still lingering up here at least until the lakes freeze. Lots of corn in the fields been too wet to harvest. Farmers are losing $1.50 per bushel.
When we lived in the senior park downstate they were quite the pests. Management got the brilliant idea to round them up and move them a few hundred miles away. They were back practically before the movers were. Hello.......Migratory.
ducks, geese, etc are very territorial - I know, I used to work for Ducks Unlimited Canada.
In Winnipeg, we had a mother duck who took her ducklings across the road at a particular intersection, and everyone stopped to let her pass. It was so cute - and they wrote it up in the paper.
In another instance, a mother duck would go to the roof of a 3 storey office building, and build her nest. When the ducklings hatched and were ready to go to water, they had no way to get down. We had to call animal services to bring them down. Turns out the building was where there used to be a pond, and she was returning every year......
Morning,
When I lived on the lake they were becoming a nuisance but then it wasn't their fault, all the kiddies visiting would be feeding them
Maybe snow has moved on, hope so, will give me the chance to decorate outside this afternoon
Need to be in midland at 8am for snow tires, shopping and church bazaar
Full day I guess
How about you all
Guess getting things in order for thanksgiving
Hey, Betty! Thought i would join y'all for some chat!
Trying to read all the posts and catch up! Saying prayers for many of you! ♥
I'll just sart here and keep up! I did see the poem on the thread "After a While"
Just what I needed to inspire me to do the things I need to do today and enjoy the things I want to do! Thanks for posting the poem! A lot of things I can learn from it! :)
I saw this this morning and just had to share....
http://www.flixxy.com/dog-waits-while-little-boy-plays-in-a-puddle.htm?utm_source=nl
Enjoy!
Love that one Barb, always watch it when it shows up.
Remind me of my youngest a bit older than that. Was caught outside in early April actually breaking ice on mud puddles bare foot. When asked about it he said..."I just had to feel the mud between my toes again".
good morning
oh my whole body is soar !!!
welcome froggies. :) glad you made it over.
oh boy the dogs sure want to play but no can do. my body won't let me today. Saturday we don't go to dog park . after last saturday , i wont go.
I hope i can get the fence up before the ground freezes.
so cute dog video
Dog parks are kind of a turn off to me .. went once and so many folks don't pick up their dogs poo .. our dogs were running in it, I stepped in it .. unhealthy ..plus, it is supposedly a SMALL dog park, and there were large breed dogs there ..our city council is thinking of closing the 4 parks we have .. sad really ..
geese, gads we have scads :-)
Now there's a heavy duty bird dumpy doos!
HUGE bone of contention in the city as the Geese, gorgeous as they are, frequent most of the high profile touristy parks, and, leave multiple 'calling cards'.
Some over winter, and some head south.
Giving thanks today for teched out kids! I have a brand new laptop, went to load my printer software, NO CD access !!!!!
DS told me to go online and download the drivers, I did, and, the printer is up and running YAY!
Laundry day, best get at stripping the beds .. MIGHT be able to hang out the sheets, cold out, but, no snow..
Take care all
TOODLES
~M~
Friend of mine in the upper calls a park walk by them the "Goose Poop Highway"
I really didn't like it much when they came into our yard. They'd leave a calling card and the dogs were sure to find it. They thought it yummy or at the very least a place to roll.

Julie, glad you found us again
Bet you are reading the back posts while hand sewing in bed right lol
How close are you to finishing
"M" with so much property why are you taking the dogs to the dog park..wouldn't like that
Yukkk Karen
Dianne is diesel doing ok, won't be long before vet doors open Monday
LindaKay, have you finally warmed up
Back from town, wallet is light..gee whiz, tire place double booked, thought for a moment he was going to reschedule me but two bays were busy so he had the men do mne outside...sure makes a difference in the snow!
Pickup metal 1" x12' long, hoping to salvage the craft room floors for now, not cheap but easier fix
Ran around town in order to beat the crowds then to church bazaar..disappointing, most of the stuff for sale come from all the women who craft here and got the ideas from me. Lol
Hot rolls and a pie came home with me..not sure the hot rolls will make it to lunch when I cook up spaghetti sauce..
Outi go, want to get the lights out front and tree on front deck
Afternoon everyone. Still cool here but not too bad. It is 57 this afternoon. We had frost on the car window this morning.
Glad you were able to get your snow tires today!
Barb, I loved that video!
Glad you found us Julie!
Smiling re havinG lots of acreage, that we do, but, our dogs are NOT ones to listen when you call them to come back!
Zoey will, but, as for Lilly and Piper, fuh get it... Gone with the wind, we do let them out onto the driveway from their compound to greet who ever has been gone and is now home, but, only after we check for deer..
Got lots accomplished today, going to settle back and watch a movie or 2.
Hi Julie 😀
M
Ps, been thinking about Mary and Lance, no idea why ..
Wish we would hear from her..worry as well
Know with the shop and her changing job she would be soooo busy but just a hi, we are ok would be nice
Jean said she dropped in for ice cream a few times but didn't see her
You will have to fence in am area "M" which would make life easier for you.
Bet they have that on their Christmas list. Lol
Been in bed since 4, not sleeping just resting
Watching a movie..Christmas movie on I think at 9, not so sure I can stay awake
Our dog park is pretty clean . Although yes some people don't pick up there poo :(
we have a seperate area for little dogs under 25 lbs. although i have seen small dogs on the large dog side .
LK i wlll trade you , your 57 for my 32 anytime :)
M Bella saw a squirrel when i was walking her on leash today out in the back,,,, almost dragged me with her !
Yum Goose dinner. sounds good to me.
I'm very tired but am safe in Chula Vista. Will rest tomorrow; medical appointment Monday. Hope I'll be rested enough to drive to San Ramon to see Amma. We'll see.
For now all is well.
hugs, katie
Goose dinner is awesome, but one from a farm not wild thank you.
good!! Glad you made it safely, Katie:-)
Here, geese are lured with a "Lure Crop" ala Ducks Unlimited. This keeps them off the farmer's fields, and some farmers are actually paid to create lure crops for them, in the area they normally go to.
Worrisome news this am from my daughter - my sister Alice is in the hospital. She has blood clots on her lungs. This is the sister who has lung cancer (for 14 years).. They have her on blood thinners, so she's breathing better and able to talk........
worried about her, and ask for prayers.
Prayers coming your way Susan for Alice..hugs for you
Katie, sigh of relief, you made it in good time. We will be with you tomorrow, holding your hand.
You so wanted to meet up with Amma on one of your last visits, let's hope you are up to it this time.
Sue, watch Bella doesnt wrap the lead around you and you go for a all
By days end my goal is to have outside/inside completely decorated for Christmas, last couple corners cleaned re flood and quilt off the frame..in order to do that I best get a move on
Heart stopped for a moment, thought I'd start by doing a row on the quilt, if I did that every couple of hours it could come off the frame tonight, light came on, no power...uggg
Runs by hand switch, played and played with it, no go
Now that would be one heck of an expense replacing that machine
Of course the plug was an floor and sat in water
Removed the cord, janome machine, hmmm, have my 9000' took cord of it, fit the quilter and back in business
Oh thank you Lord
That deserves a coffee
Good morning, everyone! Betty, so glad you machine worked. My mom has a Janome, so I know that it is expensive. Did you get your cup of coffee? I did. I have a one cup maker on the table next to my bed. Have my first cup before my feet ever hit the floor! :)
Sending lots of prayers your way, Susan. Sisters are special...♥
Thank you all for welcoming me! ((((hugs to all))))
We don't have dog parks around here! Darn, we hardly have parks around here! When the city built the beach back up after Katrina, they put in a walking track that runs the entire length of the beach. People do walk their dogs there, but I've never seen any dog mess. There are receptacles for garbage every 50' or so, and the city and other people are pretty good at keeping it clean.
No geese here, either! And no swans! The hospital has a pond and ducks and swans were released there at a young age. They've stayed because a lot of people feed them! We took the kids to feed them often when the kids were younger.
Need to finish Liam's elf slippers today! And get Colt's done before they visit next week. Want to give them early since Liam won't be here for Christmas. I want to see his reaction when he opens them!
Love to all, Julie ♥
Morning everyone!
Betty, I am so glad y our machine is still working. Sometimes things just need to dry out for a bit and they will work just fine!
Susan, sending prayers for Alice.
Katie, sending prayers for you as well!
Just came in from outside, wind is up amd snowing, half am hour outside and fingers are tingling, gloves in the dryer for my next outing
Didn't have a cup yet but making one now, bought 1/2 doz donuts at timmies yesterday mornimg so have a sweet treat to go along with it. Looking at the clock, just 8 am. Lol
Pinned a no sew blanket,, have 5 to do, thought while taking a break I could tie
Will not take a chance with the quilter plug, mill throw old one out and order a new one..for $20 or so not worth wrecking it with a short.
What are you up to LindaKay? Family coming this week?
Julie Liam will neediness be thrilled, wish I had some wee ones...miss the excitement on their faces
You must be hooked on coffee to need one before you even get up..wow
I have about 2 a day
Just taking it easy today. Trying to get house cleaned for Thanksgiving, if I do a little each day, it will be ready. Not for sure if family is coming or not? It might be just Todd and I.
Then you both can enjoy quality time
Morning ..
Good to hear you made it Katie .. in your corner tomorrow .. when I had my hip replaced, I could have sworn when they wheeled me into the OR, all you ladies were standing beside the anaesthetist making sure he did his job right .. course, since the staff that day was ALL MALES, and some pretty nice ' eye candy', maybe you were just havin a peak LoL
Susan, keeping your sister in my T&Ps ..
Gadzooks Betty, good thing the plug didnt' short out when you turned the machine on !!
We have an area fenced off for the dogs, but, to do our whole 10 acres and hope they'd be safe, nope, want'em where I can see'em :-)
Hoping Debbie and Dianne are doing OK .. as well as all the others ..
Making a pumpkin pie in a bit, cooked the pumpkin last night..
Sunny, but cold .. not sure what I'll get up to today .. more laundry, I do know that .. towels today .. the sheets dried on the line yesterday .. smell wonderful . .. try to put them outside to dry all winter, can be a challenge ..
Stay well and happy everyone ..
~M~.
"M" miss my clothes line, they took it down when I had porch screened in, will see where else it can be put as I love sheets out on the one as well, bring them in as brittle as can be but boy they smell lke heaven.
Bet you can't wait to get into bed and cuddle into them.
Big sigh, so like pumpkin pie, lucky you
Best I can do is go through my candles and fnd a pumpkin one. Lol
How is Gord today?
LindaKay, when will the kids let you kow if they can come?
Knowing them, the day before Thanksgiving.
Pumpkin pie is in the oven, ALMOST forgot to add the carnation, was looking at the ingredients in the bowl thinking,'that's not enough'!
Luckily my brain kicked in LoL
Took me over an hour last night to cook the pumpkin then whizz it in the food processor, got enough for 4 pies .. the pumpkin cost me $3.00!!
Towels and shower curtains in the wash, going to hang the curtains and liner outside .. dam hard water !!!
Should think about brunch too .. looks like scrambled eggs with cheese and mushrooms.
Was an awesome recipe on my facebook page today .. an egg dish done in muffin tins in the oven ...
Toodles
~M~
Not much left to wash around here. Lol
When I do ump kin I freeze enough for a dozen pies or so..do you use pie pumpkins? I do as they are easier on my hands cutting them and so much tastier. Have to have that carnation..
Should look in the freezer and see what king of pies are there..you've made me hungry for hot pie and ice cream.
How is Lorna doing?
Gee whizzz LndaKay, doesn't give you much time to prepare does it? You will just have to cook more and have mega left overs..you do know you are all making me hungry for turkey fixings, maybe this weekend
Everywhere I go I have to shoooo away Missy, she was on the quilt frame, off you go I told her, decided to cut strands on a no sew quilt, who is laying in the middle, had to soooo her away again..she is ot happy with me.
Going to tie the quilt while watching a movie then outside I go for a bit
As you say LindaKay, a little bit many times gets it done
I will have plenty of food for all if they decide to show up.
Sounds like Missy needs her own quilt so she doesn't have to move. :)
Hi Julie. Nice to see you.
I've never done fresh pumpkin. My mother told me the taste difference wasn't enough for to go to all that work. So I believed her and have always used canned. I don't use carnation milk either. (She did) I have a recipe that uses Eagle Brand. Geez, now I'm hungry for pumpkin pie!!
They're calling for 3-5 inches of the white stuff this evening. Yuk.
Oh, forgot to say we'll be with you in spirit and prayers tomorrow, Katie.
(How did you know about us and the eye candy, M?) LOL.
sending prayers to Alice ,
wow went to dog park. Bella got into a fight :( the owners were very nice and understanding. But i m hoping i can get the fence in soon !!! No dogs were hurt, Thank God Tom was there to help ! i got her under control and he got the other dog off her. Man that dog of mine is strong ! good thing i work out .
Omg Sue, that could have been disastrous!
Perhaps you are best to do your walking on your property..so dangerous to get in the middle of a dog fight especially as you really don't know the dog that well
Yikes
Joyce, hate to say it but your mom was wrong, sooo worth the effort
A must for this thanksgiving, off you go to get a pumpkin
Mom called, was on the telephone for an hour with her
Did more outside, need a hot bath..I IS. frozen
