Up and at'em, sorta😊
This morning each dog went out separately! Not sure what was up with that, usually all 3 steamroll out the backdoor together, bowl me over most of the time doin it too!
Katie, can almost smell that ginger! So glad your vehicle is now road worthy. Can't imagine what the U.S./Mexican border must look like on a Sunday, mayhem comes to mind.
Travel safe, best of luck.
LindaK, r u home now?
Seeing a Hospice client at 1pm, hope it goes well.
Gord is still abed, fingers crossed he is going to have a better morning than yesterday.
Thinking of you all, and wishing you fair skies
M
Best/worse/what did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
"M" even with all your challenges at home you are off to aide a hospice client..admire you!
cold here this morning, 32F, not much higher called for
Bet LindaKay is appreciating Texas weather
Katie, so glad you have all under control and that the vehicle is road worthy (as much as any vehicle can be) ..Safe travels, hoping you can access wifi to let us know how you are doing. Did they say how long the treatments will take, do you expect to be home for Christmas?
Hoping Greg and electrician can come today so I know what is my next plan of action
Feel like I'm slagging as I always do a wash every morning so never a pile of dirty laundry, here I've a weeks worth grrrr
sewing a bit, while cleaning tote on the floor found a bag with a bunch of 4" christmas fabric squares so I did sew them all together yesterday, found a photo in a magazine that you can order kits, I'm taking what I can from it and hopefully get a throw out of it..have a cutter for accuquilt for stars but not snowflakes so stars it will be on mine
challenging myself to 1 no sew fleece blanket a day, have about 7 to do, that way if I'm off track they will still be done in plenty of time.
Rogers' Cable guys last night were admiring my decorations and the tree that rotates, they must have stood in the living room for a good 5 minutes looking at everything, made me feel good
Sweet!!
Katie prayers coming your way for a safe, speedy trip.
Hope Gordon is feeling better today!
Aren't Alex and Addy adorable! I'm so happy that Addy is finally off oxygen. What a leap that was for her. If Alex is walking, he'll soon be running and then there will be NO rest!
Hope LK made it home safe and sound.
I'm so sorry about your catastrophe, Betty. I'm just glad you had most of your things in plastic totes. Can you imagine the mess if they'd been in cardboard boxes?
Have had a really busy week. I should go put a few hours in at my nieces' house cleaning, but my body is saying oh no you don't! Wait a while. So that's just what I'm doing!!
No Tony this morning - so far. I will continue preparation for the trip.
With TV back I am watching CNN and the Michael Brown situation. Yesterday saw a segment about New Orleans police who ignored child abuse situations. Reminded me of one of my first social work experiences in Chicago. I went to an apt where the woman had applied for aid for her children. The police were there. Her husband had come back and there was a domestic dispute call. When I arrived the police said, "Your social worker is here so we're leaving" and they left!! Husband, wife and I stood there and I said, "If your husband is back you're not eligible for aid." and I left. What the New Orleans police did was horrible and will probably result in criminal charges but that won't help those who were abused and not helped.
Tiny is here so I'm back to work.
hugs, katie
just popping in to say "HI"
Morning everyone. I am back home, but it is cold here. Only 42 right now and supposed to freeze tonight. So I am busy making room for my angel trumpet cuttings.
Flight was good. I just wish I could have had more time to meet up with Judy.
I will go back and read to catch up with you all.
Glad you are home..how did you find your dad?
Neighbor Dana just came over to ask about my trip, express her desire to be kept informed of how I'm doing, etc.
I'm struggling.Weepy. I've been able to begin to talk to Maria about the way depression can affect me. Wish I could let things go easily but sometimes a fairly small incident can trigger a major depression.
Right now it's like Tony and I are holding each other up and I didn't need another stressor, especially one so offensive.
But the truth is that I'm mostly stressed about leaving and not knowing what will happen in terms of the radiation. Whether I'll be able to get it done on this trip or whether I'll have to return for 4-6 weeks in a month or so. And that means I don't know if I'll be able to be here for Christmas.
As I just reminded Tony, all I can do now is make the trip and keep the appointment on Monday. And hope I'm up to traveling to see Amma. Which would also allow me to see my friend Michael who lives in San Francisco.
There are no big deals, I remind myself. Get stuff packed.
OK, tears are dried up so Tony won't see them. he knows I'm upset but leaving is always hard.
I'm OK, really. Just needed to talk.
hugs, katie
(((Katie))) Of course you are stressed. You just talk away. We are all good listeners
Am still attempting to keep using my cell. Excuse the typos. I tried to use the voice recognition message taking app this cell offers.........oh my lord my emails done that way would have ended up on Ellen's!!!!!!
Diesel definitely has something more than a sprain
Major problem is it is the last week of deer hunting
Village is a ghost town. My vet's office is completely closed down until Mon. Good thing I called there before I attempted to build a ramp to get my boy in the truck. He doesn't seem to be in any pain. Thank heavens for that
Stay warm and safe everone. Thinking about yoy all.
D
Oh Katie you are in all our hearts, This is a terrible thing to have to go through alone. I would be stressed out of my mind. You're taking care of so much and you need someone to take care of you.(((((((Hugs)))))))
Ohh Katie, there are no words, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers..if only some of us lived closer. Can't imagine going through what you are going through on your own..it's no wonder you find it overwhelming...big sigh Sending hugs
Barb, smilling, the word recognition as well could get you in to trouble. Lol
Thank goodness Diesel isn't in a lot of pain and can wait until Monday when the town returns to normal.
Could it be his rushing about picking names for Santa Warren exchange?
I am truly blessed to have all of you. And that Tony and I are able to support each other as we both deal with some serious stresses.
hugs, aktie
katie - I agree with the other ladies - you do so much for others, and have so much on your personal "plate"....... please, please, please take care of yourself, you dear lady! lots of love & hugs for you :-)
Dianne - glad to hear he's not in pain, but also let us know what it IS that Diesel's going through when you know
btw - has anyone heard from Shirley?
Katie, please feel free to chat away any time you need too! That is what friends are for to lend shoulder to cry on, and to sit and listen. I too wish you lived closer to your Dr, so the trip would not bee to hard on you.
When my friend was going through treatment for her uterine cancer, she had radiation one week, the next week she had to go in for some sort of shot, next week was for blood work, then had a week off, and started over again. She had to do this for 8 weeks.
Dianne, I do hope you can get Diesel treated quickly? I know you must be worried about him.
Betty, Dad was doing really good. We had great visits. The only problems was he wanted to go for rides, and he is not allowed too, as we don't have the lift takes to get him from his wheel chair to a vehicle.
2nd picture was when he first saw me walk in the room!
what great photo's LindaKay.. he's beaming from ear to ear!!
new dryer being delivered tomorrow uggg
they deliver, take out the old one, connect and reconnect, I just get to watch and PAY
Sorry to hear your dryer could not be fixed. I sure hope your insurance comes through and pays something for all your damaged items!
Spoke to them today, basically 'to bad,so sad'
But taking some strides forward
When my brother is finished work mid dec or January I will have him install an entire new floor in craft room and paint as its been 8 years since last done
Had put $$$ aside for new living rom furniture but it will have to wait
Sending you Tight ArmWraps to Everyone.
Katie, your doing great!! One step One Day, I used to say when I was overwhelmed and depressed.
and my Brother told me...Breathe in, Breath out, while I freaked out on going back on the highway...
It works and you know Always the Power of Prayer and that is how we can Hold You and Tony Up.
...It's ok and always will be to come and talk, We love you...I hope that the Trip and treatment go extremely well.
Dianne, my heart is aching for poor Diesel. I know you are worried sick. I sure hope it is a quick fix, and he will be back on his paws in no time,
Linda Kay, OMG, Tears streaming down my face again even just saying, as l saw Dads smile on your arrival and look he is reaching out for you! Did he sing..You are my sunshine? bet he did.
I am sooo happy you got to go see him. And i bet you are feeling so much better because of it.
Your Sister doing well?...Maa'an I am still sulking I couldn't see you yesterday.
Awe Betty, didn't realize you had to have it all replaced! We have always let it all dry out. Such an expensive disaster. So Sorry you have it going on...
LOLOL, Nothing stops crafters!! So glad the ladies had a great day after all...
Whew so glad you head is ok after your fall, well, sorry the hips/legs...
Always amazed at your continued list of beautiful work you doing! Remember we used to call you the Energizer Bunny? Name still fits, wink..
Waiving hi back Susan!! Hope you doing well.
Barbara, Did you get out and shop yesterday? Hope it was a fun day.
Sue, How Justin basketball game go?
Well for me, I am doing ok!! Just have been super busy wrapping things up here...whew, sure feels good to get things back in order! I just continue to do "Nothing" lol...got back track...Tuesday was absolutely gorgeous!! I got started stripping the back of the house...woohooo, Tah & Dah, I'm finished!!
I had to laugh at my self because the whole day i kept saying, as soon as this is done I'm celebrating with a beer! I must have said that at every hour or so, your almost done keep going, lol... I finished at 5:02 did the last 3 boards pretty much in the dark. It was still warm out so I cleaned up...by 5:30 (Normal Miller time)
lol I cracked my celebration beer...hahaha, you know I pace and look at it even in the dark, walk over to the grill and flip the light on. hahaha, never even thought of the light until that minute, so blinked my eyes happily that they were just as clean as all the rest..Yippie, I Beat the Weather...
Keep up with the inside stuff, and today I wrote a big long letter to Shawn, Had to fit in time for all the Birds...Word alert, so very exciting, Pegesus came looking for me. He bounces around the floor. Awe when he found me he spread his wings and said Hi...he has the cutest gargly voice. Had him on the perch and he said Luv U...melted my heart...I am trying to teach him Armwraps.
Linda, so glad you finally got a visit with your dad, I'm sure it was a joy to you both.
Beginning to look a lot like Christmas..morning from a winter wonderland, looks sooo pretty out there
Judy, you always bring my spirits up with your chatter
Feels good accomplishing a task that was so overwhelming..now it's behind you and not waiting for spring, you should have had several millers for being such a good girl..even Pegeseus told you so with his chatter. Am sure Shawn appreciates receiving letters from you, that he's not alone through this nightmare.
Must clean out the laundry room this morning so the dryer delivery men can get it set up
While cleaning I put a lot of things I was able to salvage there so now it's time to re organize
Didn't give me a delivery time so don't know if I've all morning to do it or have to get it dne ASAP sooo off to get it done
Might even get some play time today
Sorry you had to replace the dryer Betty. But all in all, it could have been so much worse especially since I know what was down there. What does Bernie have to do for the floors?
Been fiddling around here - a little of this - a little of that. Mainly trying to stay upbeat with Norm. This cast on his wrist has been like having a bear around. He is just so frustrated. It comes off next Thursday and I can't wait. Just praying the thumb is healing correctly and that there is not another cast. Men!!!
Barb, I SO hear ya on 'MEN" ... Gord is so much better NOW o the prednisone, but, before it kicked in, WELL .. like walkin on egg shells so it was !
Hope Norm has healed sufficiently when the cast is removed.
Betty we've had a 'snow base' of about an inch for a week or slightly more. Kind of odd to leave here and drive 20 minutes into NO snow in the city.
Hope the delivery guy comes earlier as opposed to later, delivery in the country is usually 3pm
Safe travels Katie ...
Thunder, love the pic, Malena is so photogenic (did I get the name right)?
Judy, your persistence paid off for you, bravo :-)
DH is actually going OUT to do his class today! Hasn't been out in over 10 days ..
My new Hospice client is an absolute charmer, 98, has all her faculties and lives on her own .. has an totally wonderful niece who visits daily .. I'll see her Mondays and Thursdays from 10 til noon .. not sure what we'll do, but, I'm sure even chit chat would be nice :-)
Esther is a farm girl from North Dakota!
Not sure what's up today .. coffee in a sec for sure
TGIF, enjoy your weekend ..
PS .. Dianne, hugs for you and Diesel, and Duke too of course.
~M~
Barb, Bernie will have to take out the entire sub floor (5")' support and put plywood then new top, either linoleum /click flooring or tile..we will see when that time comes
Yikes, remember dealing with Roger when he was I'll, a bear would look timid compared to he, of course he never was sick until the 'c'
Just came in, shovelled for almost an hour
Plowman not here yet, township plow just passed
Had to be done ASAP as the men delivering dryer can be walking n 1' of snow, yep, 1 foot of snow last night.
Last year we got the same nov17th and it didn't leave, hoping it will melt but not looking promising as its starting up again.
Not real cold so it was nice shovelling
Even shovelled a pathway to back shed, off to bring a few more totes of Christmas decorations, upstairs done, might as well start downstairs
Put me in a good mood lil
Snowed all night here and still coming down. Figures, I have company coming today and tomorrow from down state. Ah well might as well get used to it, I'm sure it's here to stay also.
Guess I better nor complain about the 60F or so temps we have here. Will make for better traveling than when hot and humid. No a/c should help save on gas.
After some ups and downs I got 4-5 hours of sleep. I'd napped all yesterday afternoon so I think I'm OK to drive.
The van is pretty much packed.
I'm feeling much better after some rest and now on day of departure. The days before leaving are the hardest.
Judy, good for you on finishing a major task.
Hope the men are all feeling better and grousing less.
If I'm not back for a few days, don't worry, I'm on the road.
Tony is here so we'll finish packing. Maria has been in bed with a spasming back for several days but she said she'll come down to say goodbye.
hugs, katie
Katie, safe travels
Best get it over and done so you can start the new year free of health issues
Bet as you are packing up the furries are looking sad, knowing what it means
Know you have done it so many times but is the drive scenic?
Sure hope all can be dealt with and you are ome for Christmas
The bright side is you get to meet up with friends
Debbie and Judy, have Christmas tunes playing, know how tunes on high mello you out, think its working
Did I tell you mom called, said the coat we bought at Khols is too small and she needs to go to buffalo to ring it back., big sigh, fit her two weeks ago
Sending hugs and prayers as you start your journey
Karen, always happens doesn't it, no sunshine day for travelling..are your company used to driving in sow
Municipal plow just passed, sure hope my plowman comes or I will never get out
Putting a toboggan on my list, would make getting all the totes back to shed easier and garbage to the road

Katie, adding my thoughts, hugs and prayers for you in the coming days!! One day at a time...easy to say but oh so hard to do at times.
Thunder..how adorable!!! I love, love that picture.
Sorry about your dog baby Dianne. Sure hope there isn't anything seriously wrong.
Yikes, Betty, if it wasn't for bad luck...well you know the saying. Times I have felt like that here. It seems to go in cycles. Hope everything works out soon....thinking of all you will be dealing with and wishing I could help.
Well the cooler weather has arrived at our house and I am loving every second of it. Good thing I do as it could be gone by Sunday.....such is the life living in Florida.
Waving to everyone and wishing all a fantastic weekend. Off to do some errands...errr I hate going into Tally but atleast it isn't a home football game weekend so should be much better.
Comes a time when you just start laughing
Plowman came, $550 for season
Do have a snowblower but no way I'm doing hat long driveway
Part of living in the north
Seems like a lot of money for plowing, but when you think of doing it daily with the snow blower or shovel, it probably saves a lot of time!
Katie, I hope you have a safe trip to California! We will keep you in our prayers for a speedy recovery!
Betty, is there anyway you can place your washer and dryer on concrete blocks, just in case your place floods again?
AWE! I love that photo, and the fact that she is sitting on an heirloom piece as well!
Once all this work settles yes, will build a subfloor
Was just looking at the water pit, place to put another pump, would habpve to have plumber cut into plastic piping but would be worth it. Going to inquire
Something to be said for apartment living
LindaKay, last year he was here once a day and sometimes twice a day re volume of snow
Driveway is long and he dies it wide..as price of gas really isn't that bad..some pay each time, I go flat rate if no snow he loins, if mega snow I win
Snow still coming down
Betty, these may be more cost effective as they are click installation requiring no subfloor, glue, mastick, etc. They are certainly more installation friendly.

Safe Travels, Katie!!
Betty - when I grew up in Manitoba, we all had our basement appliances on skids and/or cement blocks...... we were near the Floodway, so got flooded every spring.
Jean - our fount of information - I need your help, please.
I was given a weaving loom from the 70's (Big - takes about 5' of space when it's assembled, apparently) but no instructions. Also - worse, or better - take your choice - there is also a Warping machine worth of parts included which means I have to figure out which belongs to which.
Are you able to search out instructions for the loom for me? I think it was a Sears Roebuck loom.
Hi Susan.
Give this a look and see if you can possibly find any ID numbers or manufacturer's mark on the loom or the parts.
http://www.weaversfriend.com/page1/page7/page7.html
lol you will Not believe this, but in with all the bits and pieces (in a suitcase) she Did include the instructions for setting it up!!
Here's the loom - http://prntscr.com/56cbi3
and the warping mill - http://prntscr.com/56cch7
Should you need an operations manual etc, you can probably get those on-line to print out by manufacturer's name and model number.
I think she's given me everything, including spools, etc
