2nd Annual 'Christmas Friendship Gift Exchange' in Memory of Santa Warren"

We were all thrilled 3 years ago when Dianne and Santa Warren brought up having a Gift Exchange amongst we friends, often thought of more as family.

"I guess we should decided on an upper limit cost wise, I would hate to see anyone withdraw because they were afraid the couldn't keep up with the Joneses (old Welsh expression). So I guess we should consider a guide for the cost factor, it doesn't have to be hand made"

No amount will be set.. gifts either handmade or bought will be within each others budget !!!

guess with my Buffalo weekend with the old gals, craft day with the ladies yesterday, christmas decorating, rain and cold weather im tired as can be, bones giving me the what for so am thinking of trying to make a wall hanging with the lights just to keep me busy

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nothing wrong with listening to your body, and taking a break Betty. So what if you don't do anything today? Your body will like you for it!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I am so excited to be finally looking forward to seeing my son after 16 years.
yes, she's the catalyst, and I gather this is usually the way - we women push our men to do the right thing, and although he may have wanted to - it took her to finally get him to DO it
Now they're talking about also going to Winnipeg and see the rest of the family - his grandma too! She's 95 and would be thrilled. I'm not saying anything about this to those in Winnipeg - want it to be all confirmed first.

Anyway - gtg to a Legion lunch today - cya later

took Austin to basketball. he had fun
Signed up for a Thai Massage school. I will also be going to college to Massage therapy school. Along with studying yoga and getting my teachers cert. I m pretty excited about it.
well its getting late
sleep well ladies

well off to get kids to school

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Is "M" going to be in the exchange? I didn't see her above.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

I did d-mail her Barb
Worry something is amiss

Wow Sue ... so impressive. I admire you! You go girl!

I also admire all you crafty gals. I'm not crafty, so don't expect anything so lovely in your Santa swap from me. Maybe we'll do likes/ wants after receiving our name? I want to slip at least 1 special thing in my box from Santa ...

I did go to McD's yesterday. I always go for a walk when weather permits, but I have a feeling that cinnamon thingie I got yesterday overroad any calories I burned from walking! Come to think of it, it probably canceled out any of my efforts for this week. LOL

Hi Barb, how is Norm doing today?

Hurray Susan!

Sending prayers, Katie.

Hi Dianne, how are you feeling? And the guys ... are they being good? ☺

~waving to everyone else. Y'all have a blessed day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

After all that walking you deserved a special treat..did you have to share?

We al know whatever we receive it's meant from the heart..homemade not necessary

Oooh. Ohhh now you have us guessing what that special thing will be??

mulege, Mexico

Good morning everyone,

Not much sleep last night but I'm in less pain this morning than I've been most of this week.

No Tony and no word from him so things must be serious with his father. I would have heard if he'd died as I went to town yesterday.

Maria is coming over later to share a dragonfruit and discuss plans for her and her husband to take care of things here if Tony is still tied up with his family.

The road to town is still really bad, Very slow going.

Visited neighbors Dana and Tom yesterday. They are a little annoyed that I did not go over and check their house for hurricane damage after I got home. This morning I started laughing about it as I thought gee, I just spent two months in San Diego car camping and getting treated for breast cancer. Sorry the condition of your roof was not on my mind when I finally got home. lmao.

Got work to do and a little energy. I'll be back later.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Katie, after what you have and are going through they have a nerve to be upset, give their heads a shake, how very rude and. Caring they are...

Where were they when you needed them?

Prayers for you and tony as I know the nly reason after all these years and especially now that you need him that something is really wrong with his dad. Odd thugh he hasn't sent someone to explain his absence

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Passing through...been busy reclaiming all of the house trying to get ready for the holidays.

Betty, thanks for remembering me and dmailing me about the swap.....brain dead currently. Of course having had a lot of dental work due to the tooth I broke hasn't helped my brain or thoughts.

Sending hugs to all that need them!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Passing through behind Marion .. and, hoping I do NOT give her my stomach flu :-(

Not on much as DH is having some health issues that have caught us off guard .. he is NEVER one to be sick, but, he is now, and, the docs are trying to sort it all out .. he is very down in the dumps ..
So .. as my slice of the 'time pie' is going to be extremely thin for awhile, I won't be in the Santa Warren .. feel bad, but I don't think I can manage it right now ..

Safe travels LindaK
Betty, the piece is gorgeous
Susan, nice to hear about your son
101 you should have had TWO cinnamon thingies :-)

Hugs and hiya to all

~M~

Well, looks like one of the rungs is out of place...what happened?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was on my way to pick up a few things at Foodland just after 6a.m. And treats for Noah who will watch the furries this weekend for me

Before you ask, I was going down the steps slowly, freezing rain then snow early morning
Flew, hit my head on the rung, actually hit hard enough to take it rom the railing, package and wallet flew imprint on my hip length of step, aching and headache galore

Just opened the box, postal workers can play football with the box because after it flying at least 6' and nothing broken in the box know its well secured

Verona, ON

Safe travels Betty unless the pic posted means you wiped out on the stairs and have hurt yourself enough you can't go shopping. Somehow I just can't see that happening though!!!

(((Marilyn, Gord, Lorna, Piper, Lily and Zoey))) We are all there with you M, you can count on us.

Last weekend I did a careless, stupid thing and I have been in pain since then. Over 30 years ago believe it or not I worked out 6 days a week and did so for years and years. Anyway 1 day I over extended my arm and caused some nerve damage in my left shoulder. Every 10 or 12 years it flares up. Last weekend I was at the IGA and yapping to the gal who took my position when I left instead of packing my own groceries or overseeing the teen doing the packing. The girl packed 4 qt of chocolate milk, 3 large tins of tomatoes, 4 lb of hamburg and a few other things in the recycable (sp?) bag. The girl even put my bags of groceries into my cart. When I got to the truck I grabbed the bag with my left hand and tried to lift it. ZAP!! This hot nerve pain snaked through my shoulder and upper arm and it has decided not to leave.

LK I hope you feel better so you can enjoy every second of your visit with your dad. Is this is a surprise for dad?

How's the new pup adjusting Sue?

Barb how is Norm's hand? Man we have all been a disaster waiting to happen these last few weeks. How about you - will the colder weather make it easier for you to breathe?

Katie holding you close to my heart.

Congratulation to you and Steve Judy. Another son ! ! !

Need to ice my arm - will be back later. Please nobody hurt yourself while I am gone.
Dianne

((((Betty))))

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OH Betty! Are you OK? Anything bleeding? Last thing you needed was to hit your head! Are you still traveling?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OUCH on the shoulder pain Dianne, I pray it will let up quickly for you.

Yes, this is a surprise for Dad. I can't wait to see him.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Betty!!! I certainly hope everything is okay...think about your trip..might be good idea to stay put for a while. Just saying.....

Ouch Dianne, feel your pain. Not my shoulder but every now and then I do something (like climb a ladder) and I feel my knee say "no, no". Then the routine of ice! Get better really fast.

Congrats Judy. I can only imagine the excited for the coming days. Enjoy.

Need to make a trip to Bainbridge to deliver a cake for Kim. She has a cake order due today but was afraid to take it to school. She took one I had baked yesterday for the group of teachers she has lunch with but when they got to lunch they found an empty pan! Apparently some other teachers had decided they wanted some and had helped themselves...so much for putting things in the teacher's lounge. .......and they wonder why students do some of the things they do these days? Go figure!

Are Diesel and Duke ready to pick Santa Warren swap names Sunday?

How well you know me Dianne, am hurting but girls aren't familiar to all their favorite Christmas shopping haunts so can't say no to going, just the head aches right now ..did learn that I must have one heck of a hard head. Lol

LindaKay, packed up the treats you sent for the girls, Texas mug rug and Texas pin, they will be so pleased
