Norm did go in to work today. It should be his last time with his old boss and this is a BIG Blessing for Norm. The man is such a A__S. No concern whatsoever regarding whether or not Norm can do the job with one hand - just get it done!!!! He goes to Maine ( the new job) on Tues and Thurs for training and will do minimal work on Wed. He thinks Friday may be a sick day.
The doctor gave him an appointment for the 29th to check the thumb. So I'm thinking it is just a really bad sprain. At least he really likes the new boss and will have no contact at all with the one he has now. It is an intercompany change that is taking place and Norm's territory is changing with it. He feels really good about that. And so it goes.......
Edited to add: It is amazing the things you can and can't do when your primary hand is immobilized!!!!

So nice to get updates from the two of you.
Love the photo's Debbie, it's your love..like Bev you can see it in the photo's
Wonderful that you are at least taking baby steps with Shannon at least.
Know your heart is broken, thus the depression making you feel less than special, just know we love you, miss you and I'm sure nothing but good can come from hanging out with us. Lol
Hugs dear friend. .. Yep, hopefully will hand deliver your mat on the 1st and take all those boxes of your hands..am sure you will soon charge me rent for a bedroom which houses them
Barb, nothing worse than having a hard to work for boss..great that Norm is excited about the new job and new boss..
Castle will soon be over then it's bedtime for me
Oooooh spectacular water fall, and colors too. I love them waterfalls, I'l go many miles to see one.
Hey Debbie, glad to see you posting! Love your photo's!
Meant to ask Debbie, where was the waterfall taken, is it anywhere nearby you?
Still raining

Have you entered any Barb?
Are your colors just starting or ending?
Strange having a little one running around in the a.m.
Ruby is now in YMCA Day care and did well yesterday her first day.
Let's the kitties out, wasn't long before they were at the door wanting in..have a motion light, set so that the minute they are on the back deck light goes on, beats them scratching at the door.
When we lived across the street, there was a motion sensor light. One snowy night it would go on we'd look nothing there, light went out. Ina little bit, light was back on. Hubby said it must have malfunction and he would look at it in the morning. In daylight we looked out, there was a big circle around the house. bunny tracks, over and over.
lol..not now that I've got the back deck closed in for the winter but when the ivy leaves would move it would come on.
what are you working on today Karen?
LOL!
Thunder your son's video surprising his daughter made Fox news. It was on the news just a bit ago, and I yelled to Todd, I know that family!!!
Isn't that fantastic
And so his homecoming should be special
Sue, sounds like an allergic reaction from y our bee sting?
oooooooh poor Norm re: thumb, and YAAAAAAAAY re: new boss - the current one sounds like a jackA**........
Betty - how are you feeling now? pain meds kick in?
Sue - how are you? IS it an allergic reaction?
Thunder - how awesome that his homecoming should be on the news! Maybe this means they'll "milk it for all it's worth" and keep him home for awhile? That would be great :-)
Debbie - what a Wonderful pic of the autumn colours and that waterfall!! I love pics of waterfalls..... maybe it's because I'm a Pisces that I love water pics lol
Love to everyone!!
Yuk Sue, you aren't going to work are you?
ok - promised pics of the shawl I made & embroidered, so here it is.
not sure how clear it is, what it is.... hope you have good imaginations lol
pic one is the whole thing
pic 2 is the middle of the back
pic 3 her initials, at the bottom right of the cape front
pic 4 bottom of one side of the "scarf" - roses
pic 5 bottom of the other end of the scarf - roses
Susan, did you do all the thread work by hand? That is beautiful!
That is so beautiful, Susan. You do lovely embroidery work.
Deb
absolutely gorgeous Susan, bet she was overwhelmed by your kindness
Just got back picking up fabric for my class, they were a light green short so now have to improvise
going to go through my stash and see what I can find that might do
Sure anxious to see it Betty.
That is highway robbery for sure! Beautiful fabrics!
Wow that is high Betty, I bought that poinsettia at Joann's here. It's such a small store, I have a hard time finding some I want. The selection is very poor. I can order from them online too but only will if I have a coupon and free shipping.
The waterfalls are in various little towns surrounding us. Some not so easy to get too.
Hard to believe the climbing I did....but so enjoyed it. There were four various waterfalls in all.
Just nice drive and pretty view.
Going "offline" for awhile.
No problems, just seems there is so much yard work to do, and I'm involved with annual meetings etc.
Will no doubt be a lurker.
Take care everyone
Toodles
M
sure going to miss you "M"
why not rake 2 less leaves and drop in with a 'hi' lol
Debbie, will have to next spring come and spend a weekend and you can take me see the falls
feeling better Sue?
that one piece of fabric I bought at Joann's, paid about 1/8th what I paid for the other fabrics
stupid..should have really looked through my stash..was lazy and it cost me.
thought I had to be at class for 9a.m.
nope 10:45, class starts at 11:00, 1/2 hr for lunch and ends at 4:30
asked if I had the Deb Tucker wing Clipper or the quilt in a day tool for flying geese (maybe I have that one) but have no idea what a wing clipper is, likely an elite scissor for cutting the ends
have to go check
spaghetti time, Lisa asked if she could take me out for supper as a thank you, replied to her e-mail and said no, I'm doing spaghetti and she is welcome as there is plenty.
Rita asked me to pick up a registered letter at the post office..her addy didn't get changed and seeing it was registered but in her name they won't give it to her soooo out in the rain I go
Here is a video for the wing clipper...

Yes, I did the embroidery by hand. It's very soothing work, and I feel so productive :-)
Liz was thrilled with the cape - people stopped her and said "how pretty" and I got a store clerk ask me if I took orders lol No, because people paying for it don't want to pay what it's worth, and they also are a little fussier - I do it for enjoyment, not to be judged.
btw - took some pictures of Liz, wearing it, and the Security stopped me and said we weren't to take pictures in the mall....... I picked a blank wall, next to the TD bank, maybe that's why? lol
That is awesome!
Thank you :-)
Don't let it get too bad Sue, go have it checked out!
definitely get that hand checked out - severe allergies are nothing to fool with
Some news here. I got home a few hours ago. Hot and tired. Dogs and I are all very happy. I return to San Diego on Nov. 15 and hope to start radiation the next week and finish before Christmas. Nothing for sure. More news when I'm not so tired.
One mango seed I planted before I left sprouted and is about a foot tall and very healthy looking. Ginger given to me by a generous DGer last year has four bede, one is showing white petals. I think it's a butterfly ginger. I wrote to the donor and thanked him. Lots of destruction here from the two hurricanes so a new flower is especially welcome.
hugs, katie
Hugs right back atcha, Katie
how sweet, to find a beautiful flower in the midst of all the destruction!
So glad to hear you're home, safe & sound :-)
Would be especially nice to be finished treatment before Christmas - then you can perk up a little and enjoy the season.
When you return to San Diego, will you be camping in your truck again?
mmmmmmmm Mangos & ginger..... what a great combination, and so nice the Mango is doing well.
Morning all,
Oh Katie, so glad to wake to your post this morning
So had hoped the radiation could have been dealt with closer to home where at least tony and friends could watch over you. Hope today and the next few days you will so nothing but rest!!
Always nice to see new growth in the gardens, hooe all the destruction missed a good part of your property...we will be praying for you.
Sue hope today is a better day for you if not to the doctor you must go
Susan, love the photo's..she is just beaming and it looks very chic on her..
LindaKay, thanks for the link..attached the site to home page so I can go watch some of her tutorials..doubtful I have that tool although I do have some of quilt n a day templates..if not just might have to buy one
Weatherman says we shall see sun today, not so sure he is right.
Glad to hear you are home safely Katie. Hope the destruction was minimal. Keeping you in my prayers....
