I did not look closely at the site, LK. It was from the movie about the Temptations and uploaded from HULU to Youtube.
Nothing like coming home with a dead frozen lizard....but M, did he turn blue?...(sorry, couldn't resist) Hope Lorna feels better soon.
She probably would scratch her face, Susan, but not for a day or two. She is less than 1 day old in that picture and while she does have nails, they stay pretty soft for a few days.
The mittens are more to keep her from catching her fingers or her nails on anything and damaging them..
It also keeps strands of hair from anyone holding her, from getting wrapped around her fingers and cutting off circulation...same with the tiny socks she has on under her blanket. 8-)
Best/Worse/What did I learn Today?Chat with friends old/new
Mornimg all,
Ready for the airport, hate having to be there hours before one has to leave but that is the way it goes, better we meet safety guidelines..
Have some knitting but am sure they will make me throw away needles, should have bought the circular which are allowed.
"M" sorry that Lorna now is down with the cold. Was talking to a friend at home and they said its rampant..Suzanne had it when I left, hopefully she is over it.
Jean they do same in my neck of the woods re mittens/sockets
She is just too precious. Is she your only grandaughter?
Guess I will have to wait for grandsons to have a family in hopes of getting a girl..
Sue, if you did its because you are soooo tired.
Where are our Debbie's?
Hoping Katie gets to give us an update soon
Well, I have to finish my coffee then it's off I go
Have a good flight Betty. I have taken crochet hooks on a flight before, even had scissors with me. Guess it depends on the TSA agent you get.
http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/transporting-knitting-needles-and-needlepoint
Knitting needles are allowed.
Hope your flight is uneventful, Betty. I guess TSA doesn't watch NCIS....
Yes,Eden is the first granddaughter born into our family...we have a rather "blended" family.
3 Grandsons, 20, 9 and 5 and 2 blended Grandsons, 16 and 13. 1 Granddaughter, Eden and 2 blended Granddaughters, 12 and 5. But, they are all ours, along with a few other kiddles that think we are their Grandparents. As DH says we have at least 4, probably 8, but quite possibly more than 10 depending on who is counting/asking..... grin
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Sounds like our family, We have acquired grands just about every possible way. All grands, all loved.
I agree. Oldest GS has a direct bloodline relation to all but one of the others. They are either cousins or Halves, and the one with no blood link absolutely adores him.
Am in Charlotte SC airport, last pilot must have been speeding as we were to arrive at 12:09 but made it by 11:42
So here I sit having eats/drink, before you know it it will be boarding time
Now that's quite a family Jean, just lke Karen they are all yours.
Knitting needles and artic ice passed customs
Hurting from all the walking so will need the article ice bio freeze when I get home
Sure hooe my house is nice and clean for my arrival..keep saying, doesn't matter, doesnt matter
They leave Saturday and I can clean then.
Already planning my day tomorrow..finish winterizing..a must!
Sometimes those planes catch a nice tail wind, and can make up speed!
1/2 hr early on 2nd flight
Rita was waiting
Hot bath is calling my name
Just as we pulled in, Lisa who is staying here was off for supper with her mom and little ruby
Am sure I will be sleeping before they return
Ohhh 34 degrees, must turn up the heat
Welcome home Betty!
A bit brisk ..
BFF, Jo, learned her youngest brother has passed away in Thailand at the age of 58.
So much to do with having his remains (remains) returned to Canada.
He has lived there for 3 years, so there will be personal possessions to dispose of as well, apparently the Canadian Consulate looks after that, but, a lot of stuff goes 'missing '.
So far for anyone to travel. Both she and her older brother live here, and a sister lives in France.
Just really confusing right now. He apparently had a heart attack.
Slow weekend, works for me.
M
How sad "M"
No closure so that will be difficult for Jo..could he not have been cremated then returned home?
How is Lorna tonight, tad better?
I was amazed at how many travellers were wearing breathing masks, wonder if it was due to Ebola scare or just not wanting to catch a cold
I felt so badly for a lady today, the plane fron Charlotte to Toronto was a small one, 2 seats on one side and same on the other side
I had window seat, 2nd row
There in front of me was a lady who I believe needed 2 seats..she was in the middle of the 2 when a man came to take the outer seat..barely room for him to sit. When we were asked to put seat belts on this lady had to ask for an extension belt as it would not work, attendant gave it to her and at same time the poor woman broke down in tears. The man was a fair size, I was going to ask if he wanted my seat and I'd take his but thought better of it
oh M - how very sad for Jo...... I'll pray for them
Betty - that poor woman - and the attendant - not sure if you're saying she was nice to her, or just what you meant by "she gave it to her", because the woman broke down into tears.......
I went to a funeral at my church today - specifically asked to attend by the choir director because Thora was a friend of ours, and in the choir with us.
Helped make the luncheon for afterwards.
Beforehand, the pastor came over and said "Sad day" and gave me a hug!!!
The fellow I originally had the disagreement with called me over to take a seat between he & his wife, at the luncheon. They were perfectly wonderful to me.
I got lots of hugs from other congregationalists / Friends, and people kept asking me to come back. Told them time would tell.
Afterwards I helped clean up the kitchen, etc.
Betty glad your made it home. That is a sad situation to see. My heart goes out to the woman. The flight attendant should have done more ?
M so sorry to hear of your friends youngest brother. We just never know when out time is up . Sending healing energy to you and the family.
not much going on here. To has been watching football. We did take Austin to a inside fun park thingy. Played games. Go carts and mini golf .
made dinner ,
morning all,
Glad you went to the service Susan, I'm sure things will work out.
No the attendant was very nice, with a full plane there was not much she could do..I wasn't so sure if I offered to move into the front seat I'd have made it worse so unlike me I kept my mouth shut.
you are so busy Sue, am sure the kids are just loving Tom
great that you are again enjoying life
Joyce you home, please tell us what you got up to in Nashville
good night sleep and raring to go, just have to wait for daylight then I can check over the gardens to see what remains to be put away
until then, I've a quilt on the frame that needs quilting
Morning 😊
Jo's brother has been cremated, I had meant to type 'cremains ' auto correct said NO!
Feel so bad for the woman on the plane,
Supposedly rain here today, guess we'll see. It's only 29F this morning.
How did your guests make out Betty.
Hugs to all
M
guests made out quite well
I've been downstairs quilting for an hour or so, can hear little footsteps running so guess they are up..I've enough to do inside/outside that we'll not cross paths
know she said the woman that rented her the house agreed she could put all the boxes in her van in one of the bedrooms so she'll be away for an hour or so
almost looks as though it could snow..raised the furnace temp to 73 so nice and toasty.
making headway on the quilt, love it when a machine co-operates lol
Those birds are black skimmers Betty.
Glad to hear your back home and back in your old routine!
Love those clothes! Who was smoking around you?
Beautiful colors in your new clothes.
a mix of sea Gulls and Royal Terns and Black Skimmers, with a Sanderling or two scurrying about and maybe a Sandpiper... they sort of blend with the sand.
This is a link with names and pics.

Thank you gals, sure we're a lot of them..I will have to email Darlene and the girls, all we're wondering.
Tired out, Lisa's mom left this afternoon for home, her SIL will come for 2 days to look after Ruby but not spend the night..she has a 3 year old soooooo
Lisa took Ruby out for the afternoon so I I got everything in back bedroom dusted and vacuumed, bed linen washed, just have to wash the floors and it's the room is done.
I can't believe I'm taking all the stuff dragging (toys, moving boxes/groceries etc) as well as I have ..5 more nights and I have my house back, did someone a favor and survived.
What are you all doing??
smell them from here
ok if I have 2 with my coffee
Oooooh the bestest.
Just got back from dinner around the corner. Not the best but close and reasonable. I get so tired of cooking sometimes. Hubby just got back from cannonade. DGS & wife are both working,we took Amelia and went out to eat.
Plenty of cookies for all.
Glad to hear you got out for dinner Karen.
We had a fun day yesterday. Norm evidently jammed his thumb at work on Sat and didn't really realize how badly it was hurt. Sunday morning he couldn't use his thumb at all. So it was off to urgent care. He is now in a wrist brace. Of course, there was not an orthopedic doctor on duty until today so they will check his X-ray and see if he needs more attention. The doc yesterday seemed to think a tendon may have pulled away from the bone taking a piece with it!!! Even if it is just a bad sprain, he will have that brace for at least three weeks.....And he is supposed to start the change in his job this week!!!! Fun!!!
Barb, sorry to hear about Norm. Sure hope the orthopedist will let you know one way or the other as to how his thumb/wrist looks on the X-ray. Could be what is called a 'buckle fracture' not too serious, but, painful.
Off to a docs appt with Lorna at the hospital, just a regular appt.
46f this morning as opposed to 30f.
Have a stellar day, maybe we'll here from, Dianne, Debbie, Mary or Katie.
M
OUCH! Barb, I hope they can figure out what is wrong with his thumb soon!
Morning all,
Ouch ouch, poor Norm
Is the new position with same firm, they surely know how conscientious Norm is with his work habits that they can make changes to schedule to help out
Nope, worried about those gals as well "M"
Hope good results come from this appointment for Lorna
Coffee and bagle in hand am going to go post on the workshop thread so I don't get behind
Also cut up some strips for Santa blocks depicting Santa stamps I bought last year
On this rainy day it seemed the think to do
Lisa and ruby were up half the night re fever/cold
Ask me how I know that, tried every spray/salve I have to help with knee and hip pain, finally at 3:30am I took pain meds...shouldn't have fought it for so long
Maybe a nap is n order
Sure hope the pain meds kick in quickly for you Betty!
easing somewhat..going to take another in a bit
playing with our workshop floormat..starting as you can see on our workshop thread getting to be as cute as can be..was going to give it as a gift but it might be a 'me' floormat lol
drizzling so no outside, great time to play
finished the tutorial on the floormat
finished project (except for glitter and final coats)
going to look through left over wool skeins to see if I can find wool to make more sets of boot cuff's
this is the same set..showing you how I knit it 1/2 and 1/2 so they can wear them either way, with pattern or plain..
tired, think hot bath is in order..
cold here and very damp
where did everyone go, hibernating??
I am her, just got back from town, had to go pick up med re-fills. Love those boot cuffs, they look very warm!
Ouch! Those can hurt! Take a benadryl if you need to.
Knitted them LindaKay while having nothing to do in Florida, I will make up a bunch on knitting machine on the weekend..not so sure it's something young ones would wear..
Glad you got your meds
Sue, why are you punishing Savanah?
Hate those bites
Meant to ask Barb, how did Orm make out today..did he go into work? Can they accommodate his injury re new job?
Good evening!!! Miss you all like crazy, but I am trying to keep busy and my sanity (what is left of it) in check.
DH was off for four days, home for six. Almost all the house is finished, but we went and picked up porch floor paint, and for the ceiling out there also. NOW we need it to warm up so the paint can dry.
It has been so cold, in the upper 30s last night and I couldn't get warm for anything.
I have been having great time with my son....and we have had some visits with Shannon. Baby steps as they say.
Saturday morning DH and I went on a "road trip" just around the area trying to get fall pictures. They are posted on FB......but it was raining the entire time. I had to clean them up some, but it was relaxing.
Barb, that sure does sound painful....he will have to hold his "Timmy Hortons" with his other hand for a bit. (smile)
Betty, love the matt. Very pretty. Glad you are home safe.
Judy, you and I both faced that "road trip" fear. You are braver....doing it alone!!! I had Shane with me....but this was so new to me.
Waving to everyone.....I read most days, but have been falling asleep on the couch early and and really fighting this depression.
Hugs,
Debbie
