8TH DG On-Line Christmas Craft Workshop by Betty/all welcome

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Not only the money, but I also watch her three young children(ages 5,3, & 2), whenever she needs a sitter, and I work full time, so it takes up a lot of my time. I find it hard to do everything I want to do. There's just not enough hours in the day. I love my grandbabies, but with 3 small children around any serious crafts are out of the question. Unless I want my house redecorated. lol

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Now Pat you were just saying you had stuff you needed to do. OK you have until the kits get to you to get the needful stuff done. LOL

Anxious judy

Not yet Judy. I don't know what is going on with him right now. I think being 14 and in high school, he is feeling like he is too old to be painting with Grammy. I'm hoping to check one more time this weekend. If he doesn't or can't come down then I will ask the lady upstairs if she would like to do it with me....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

They seem to hit that spot for a bit, then get through it and come back around to time with Grammy is cool.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

You know sometimes it's not so much they don't want to but life is busy and there is SO MUCH they want to do that the family stuff gets low priority. Developmental stage... like you said, they come around again later!

Know how Barb feels, Lordy Kyle was always here visiting with gram
Now he's 19 next week, new car, girlfriend in University and I rarely see him

Know life moves on but still miss him

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Today is DGS Rory's b'day. His freshman year of college, we stayed here together so he could live off campus. He so prefers the lake. We got especially close that year. Now he's married with a daughter and home of his own. I'm lucky to see him 2 or 3 times a year. I know that is as it should be but I sure miss the fun with the grands.

Hard watching them leave the fold

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Guess that is why we build all these memories--to keep us company now that we are older....
Know exactly what you mean Karen.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I really don't think our "kids" and "grandkids" have a clue how much we miss them. But then again, I am sure I did not either!!! Although for years my brothers and I mowed my grandparents yard, my horse was boarded them some of the time, etc, etc so we probably got to see them much more than what we would have.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I was very tight with my maternal grandmother and saw her very often. Losing her was the hardest for me. I still miss her every day.

My paternal grandmother raised me and same, miss her every day
