LindaK thanx for the info, I salready have filed my reaction with Health Canada, and, just got off the phone with the maker 'APOTEX' .. could hardly understand the agent I spoke with, I think she had a ?Chinese accent? had to spell things for her, very frustrating .

He has already been cremated, no service so lkely she is in Florida. He and his wife had no children..She had two boys,only Claude remains, he went to school with my boys..got into booze/drugs at 15 and hasn't aspired to much.

Well, I was just talking to my Sis, and the Dr.'s are saying that Dad may have colon cancer, that could be the reason he is losing blood. They can't do any testing such as a colonoscopy, due to his frail condition and other health problems, So Sis is going to talk to the Dr. to see what options there are for him. Just asking for prayers please?

Ah jeeze LindaK sorry to hear that about your Dad, but, it isn't a definitive diagnosis .. there are so many things that could cause internal bleeding .. I'm sure the docs will leave no stone unturned.

Well .. I do believe I have researched my 'problem', and, have come up with a very unsavoury finding :-(
When I was in Emerg, the young doc mentioned something about Stevens-Johnson syndrome, it was just in passing, but, when I hear something I have never heard before, I am usually pretty good at remembering what was said.
Because I am getting no better I looked it up .. sheesh .. I am about bang on for all the symptoms :-(

Gord is still in Wisconsin, won't be home til next week ..
All this because of a drug, but, I do have a depressed immune system, so, likely why it created the 'perfect storm' ...blah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having a real time with a neighbour about a mile down the road. He befriended Gord, and Gord will lend him money ($20.) every so often, always pays it back ..
The fella is nice enough, but, both he and the Mrs are alcoholics ..
He keeps phoning for Gord, or coming over to see if he's here, I don't even bother to go to the door .. I really do NOT want to say Gord is away ..
Today I 'blocked' his number .. not sure what message he gets on his end when you do that ..
I am super cautious letting the dogs out as he has no fear of them (he has a Jack Russel), he'll unlatch the gate and stroll right up to the house, so, we're locked in here tight til it's time for Lorna to come home ..
Life can just be so darned interesting sometimes, NOT!!!


Going to go and shower .. OH .. usually after a hip replacement you can't have baths in a tub anymore .. the gittin in is OK, but, it's the getting out .. I was gonna try, but thought better of it ..

I am a former ER/ICU RN.

Stevens-Johnson is a VERY dangerous and life threatening disease!

PLEASE do not continue fooling around with it at home. You need to get to the ER and quickly.

As you have noticed, it progresses pretty fast.

I am sure your family and your friends would be devastated if something happened to you.
Especially if it could have been treated.

You need to be tested and monitored. If it turns out to be something else....so be it. Better to be on the safe side.

I know this will offend you but where did you get your medical degree that makes you believe it's OK to 'wait and see'. ?????

Flamingo Carole thank you for dropping in with sound advise..this condition is not mproving and sounds quite something that should be looked after ASAP, now 'M' as soon as Lorna get home off to emerge you go with your cocncerns, is indeed better to have wasted a tad of time than be sorry and told 'wish you had come sooner"

Carole, no offense taken, but as nurse yourself I think you can somehwat understand my hesitancy to go to ER.
I will go tomorrow to my doctors (his groups) walk in clinic ..
In all the reading I have done about SJS, the incidence of that being the REAL diagnosis is pretty low .. but .. I will go and have it checked out again ..
So hard to believe a drug that was to have HELPED me, has caused my immune system to become even more screwdgy.
I really thought the prednisone would do the trick ....
I'm almost afraid to take ANY of the biologics now .. actually any darned drug ..

Keeping LKs Dad and "M" in my prayers today. Wow it seems like it doesn't rain anymore - it pours and lately it has been raining here way too much. We all need to get healthy again. Thank heaven we do have each other to get us through a rough patch here and there.

You would do that for her! Does the magic ointment give you any lasting relief? I am assuming NOT. Understand completely about your actions with your neighbour. There was a fella on the lane who was an alcoholic too (sweet, sweet guy) but he would turn up knocking on my door at 2 or 3 am. When I would speak to him the next day he wouldn't even remember doing it. I too used to batten down the hatches and not answer. He died not too long after Warren. When sober he was a prince of a man and I must say I do miss the sober John.

Have you seen the commercial on TV for the Pet Command? I decided that for $20 I would try it. News flash - they don't send you an instruction book. You have to purchase it. I managed to figure it out and it does seem to be helping with Duke. Diesel really responds to it - wouldn't ya know the 'obedient' dog respond the best.

Bill has to go see his cardiologist on Monday. He won't sign off until he talks to him. Last November he wanted Bill to have a stress test. Bill didn't do it. Hope he doesn't make him do that before the surgeries!

Betty, this fella down the road, is a true alkie .. sweet as sugar when sober, but, he has shown up at our back gate just stumbling, slurred speech .. have given DH hec for having given him $$ for 'dog food' .. in Gord's defense though, he believed the guy had gone on the wagon ..
My car is in the garage, and the only vehicle out is Lorna's truck, so, he'll know someone is home, but, I will NOT answer the door

I am set and ready to head for the clinic in the morning .. DAM NURSES .. I am so NOT wanting to believe this is NOT my immune system punchin me out !!
ONE good thing, my lips have become less swollen .. that said, my fingers are !!!!
As Carole would agree, and I have no idea where in GA she is, you don't want someone other than a qualified dermatologist to make a definitive diagnosis of SJS .. here in Thunder Bay, we have ONE, and he is most likely AWAY .. we have the ONE large Regional Hospital .. but, the docs are 'guess and go' as far as skin anomalies.
I'll keep you informed ..

he watched yours get put together, Betty. I kept asking him questions about it. Should I put this color here? what about this? etc. and I wrote notes on what he said. started cutting his as soon as I was done with yours. Now I have to find times/ opportunity to quilt it with out him seeing it??!!!

No feed back on showing today, however, real estate gave me booklets to set out and they didn't take it so guessing not interested. Not letting myself get hopeful so not disappointed. We went up to the park on the corner until they left then took the dogs home and went out for a wonderful breakfast, had my fav. eggs benedict.

We have a drunk neighbor also. He comes over once in a while. he seems harmless . WE had another neighbor a man who would drop by every once in awhle and he gave me the creeps !!!! glad he is gone !!! he made me nervous.

Well .. not often you see me UP after 9pm ....
I was in bed and asleep, but the ITCHIES are just the worst, and, I am maxed out on the benadryl til the early morning.

As always, thanks so much for the good wishes for my clinic visit, as life would have it, it's the same clinic I farmed DH off to last weekend with his sore throat/tonsilitis.

I always think that if I were an alcoholic, I'd stay in the house so as not to draw attention to myself .. but, this fella comes swaggering down the road with his dog on a leash (I think the dog walks him) a few weeks ago he had a nasty cut over one eyebrow, he had fallen down the front steps .. Gord id going to have to distance himself from him that's for sure, he called 5 times today (have call display) I finally 'blocked' his number.

Karen .. hope for the best, but, be prepared for the worst I guess .. sure hope someone falls in love with the area .. it must be awesome in the fall.

Guess I should try to 'slather and sleep' .. course, the itchies seem to be st my mid back ... OH .. just had a revelation, know why I am up ..'roids' .. the prednisone is wiring me a bit ..

I'm having a meltdown. Got a message I have an appointment on Sept 5 so I decided to come homw and recoup even if only for a few days. Had a good trip home. Arrived to find a message that I have an appointment on Aug 29 - no mention of the Sept 4 appointment and no way to respond to the email with the August appointment. I sent an email to my regular doctor and his staff asking for hlep. They are very good.

The raiology communication seems to be totally messed up. I'm happy I can turn to my GP for help and happy to be reunited with furbabies so I'm going to go to bed happy and will see you all later.
