You and your mother will be in thoughts and prayers. It's not easy when you are forced to do something, or NEED to force another because there is no viable option.

Pat it was mom's dream, to get an apartment in same building as her sister, her stay at the residence was only so she could get stronger for a month or two and was praying an apartment came up..girl that manages thaapartment complex is a woman I had dealings with when I was rec coordinator, several friends of mine who are in same complex all have been putting is their 2 cents hoping she can get it
Now that she may she doesn't want it
She cannot do all the stairs in her house and all my sibling are moving north so won't be there to watch over her..
Not a good situation..i
Hugs and prayers coming your way, Betty.
Sue and I did indeed have a good day. No sooner did she leave than Sherry pulled in for Beer 30! Sent both of them home with sweet corn pulled fresh from the shocks. Bill and I had corn and Sue's leftover Mellow Mushroom pizza. Hawaiian. Can't remember ever having it before, but we both liked it. Bill LOVED it!
Hit the couch getting ready to watch some of Season 4 of Ally McBeal. Hope you all have a great night!
Great day Joyce, where do you have the corn planted or do you mean fresh from farmers stalk??
Sharon just called, mom is in a tiff, told me NOT to come for supper tomorrow night, ok with me, took a lot to go everyday..sooo tired of this
Oh so Bill changed his mind LOL . Glad he liked it it is Maui Wowie. Pineapple, smoked bacon, chicken , pesto and other stuff's
Wish i could have stayed for Beer'30.
Im watching Mormoms In America. Very interesting.
Betty sending hugs. Hope mom can see the that it is the best solution for her to move to the apt.
Your mom may need to find out for herself that she can't live unassisted in her own home. HOLD that apartment when it comes ready as long as you can!!! Sometimes, just like with teenagers, we have to let them fail at something and feel the consequences of their choices before they will make a good choice.
All week long I oversee caregivers, monitor their requirement compliance and pray I don't lose another provider. Caregivers (or agency providers) do NOT grow on trees contrary to what some clients think!!! LOL
When it gets too much, sometimes families have to pull back so their loved ones can see they just can't do it on their own and their family can't provide the support they need any longer. It's rarely a smooth transition with the lesson sometimes needing to be repeated a time or two (or three!).
Good advice Pat
Problem is we did leave her live at home, she was taking so many drugs, mega kind that she was falling all over, thus the fall and not eating..driving while taking these drugs..car dented all over
The seniors home in Coldwater only has 60 or so suites, no other such apartment other than in a mega city like Barrie/Toronto
It is district owned, if she says no then likely she will have to remain in the city in her home, just not good
Corn is behind the house, by the front field. Definitely have to freeze some tomorrow, cause a lot of it is ready!
Was trying to imagine where it was
My favorite pizza is Hawaiian..lovee the pineapple.
Wonder if Katie is on her way home?
Mary's birthday tomorrow..so hope all is going well for her.
Betty, hoping your mom will come around when she's had a day or two to chew it over. She is soooo like mine, totally determined that nobody but NOBODY was telling her what to do. Ran us a merry chase the last few months. Would keep us sitting in a restaurant while on a road trip while she sipped tea she didn't need because she had a thermos in the car, just to show us we would leave when she was ready and not before. AND she wasn't even supposed to be on the trip. Sis and I had both gone up so sis could stay with her and I could drive dad to visit his brother in hospital with cancer. This was all arranged ahead of time. She said last minute she was going too even though getting her ready in all her stuff into the car delayed us another hour.

Happy Birthday Mary!
May the day bring nothing but smiles and pressies
Happy Birthday Mary. Sending hugs and blessings......
Morning all
Didn't sleep well last night, Lordy they have good movies during the night .
Sun is shining but it's cool
Imagine, they are talking about frost in next few weeks, colder and a more wet November
Sounds like fun
Sat and took the edging off the Tranquility piece, rebated some of the glasses a beige tone, changed back to original design
Cut out blocks for another quilt and will take a ride to Fabricland as there are sales and to the fabric shop seeing as I need a few more yards to finish 2nd quilt
Sounds like a fun day to me Betty.
On a downer today, bit from mom and guess disappointed that Roadtrip 2014 is over
Best I give myself a kick in the butt, shake myself silly and change this attitude
Happy Birthday, Mary!! Treat yourself to some gelato on me!! ;)
Well I said I had to do it, and do it I did! 31 bags of corn for the freezer. Bill was a huge help. That was from 87 ears. Sure will taste good this winter. Only about a third finished with the picking and putting up. Might start pushing more ears on the neighbors!!
OHMIGOSH is it cold here today .. fall weather for sure, TOO EARLY!!!
I asked DH if we should start a fire, but, that'd be just nuts, if the furnace comes on, so be it.
With the cooler weather comes 'the invasion of the house flies'!! Annoying little buggers ..
Lorna is having a stressful day at the cemetery .. today is the funeral of a young 8 yr old girl, a victim of domestic violence .. would imagine anyone form Canada may have read about in a paper, or, online .. very, very sad ..
Lorna has fixed up the area the little one will be buried in, but, she has gone up into the back of the grounds to be away from the procession .. police escort and all ..
DH is going to the throat specialist today for a follow up .. he hopes he'll be able to head for his trip to WI tomorrow .. he was to have gone today ..
The antibiotics have kicked in ..
Happy Birthday to Mary ..
Betty, everyone is entitled to down days .. make you pause and reflect, gain momentum, and .. move on .. hopefully refreshed ..
We grew 4 corn plants .. almost ready, last year, the deer ate it before we could get to the 6 whole cobs that were produced ..
I also have a confession to make . I did a real BAD!! The other day (Thursday), I had the dogs out around the property .. there was a 'milk thistle' plant in the perennial bed .. I thought,'hmm it's not TOO prickly'. I grabbed it gently and pulled, well the pricklies stabbed me but good .. well .. since then .. the tips of my fingers, palms of my hands .. upper chest and back are rashy, and, my hands are so sore (pads of my fingers are blistered)
Won't ever do that again !!!
Best go .. raining here ..
TOODLES
~M~
"M" are you sure all the stickers are out? Might have some embedded.
Sure hope Gourd gets a good report from the Dr. You may be allergic to that plant, maybe you need to go to urgent care, especially if the rash is spreading!
All the sticker things are gone, but, I even have a rash on my tongue and eye lids .. kinda weird as I started that new arthritic drug about 3 weeks ago, maybe that[s what it is, or, tomatoes .. I'm just going to take a benadryl tonight, it'll knock me on me butt, but, I should be good to go tomorrow.
Gord saw the specialist, he can go to WI, but, he has to have his tonsils out in October .. he is NOT happy about that sugery .. we went through it with DS, Murray, when he was 21 .. he was a hurtin unit ...
Best get supper on the go .. DH is in the garden digging new potatoes, Lorna will be home at 4:45pm .. busy house in the evening ..
Take care
~M~
Afternoon
"M" no haven't been listening to news, how horrific..just went and read a little, just sickening..will read further to see if he is the dad
..poor Lorna
Sad to lose a child but to such violence
Look at the corn, I will have to be hungry next time I drop in, looks yummy
How did Gord make out M"
Happy Birthday Mary! The pups and I wish you peace, love, health and happiness for the upcoming year.
Dianne
Wow "M"! You are really having a bad reaction to something. If not better in the morning, better call your Dr. Or if gets worse, go to urgent care.
Are you feeling better tonight "M"?
Been playing with a quilt top, disappearing hourglass like the one I quilted last week..needed 4 tops for the grandsons, cut it all out, did sew all around the blocks and cut the blocks in quarters..sure do need a roll of batting, if it weren't to large an item I'd order one..likely cost more the sip then to buy.
Also sat and did the beige wine glasses, simple, just leaves and dots so tomorrow I'll get them done..
Keeping busy, less time to spend being Agitated.
Just warmed up stew, bit late to eat but just realized I was hungry.
It's a ways away yet, but last year on cyber Monday ( Monday after Thanksgiving, huge online deals), I bought an entire roll of good batting from Joanns for around $70. with free shipping. Been using it all year on the tree skirts. Hoping they have it again this year.
Had a wonderful time in Branson. Left my camera at home BUMMER!!!
I'm hoping the same thing Karen. Maybe I'll be in a place when I can USE it!!!
I have so many blocks I need to turn into quilt tops.
Morning all,
Ahhh Bev, was sure you and camera were inseparable ..can you tell us about your trip?? Hope it was a great time!
So far this year I've used 3 rolls, lucky as each time I could use a coupon and paid around $100 for them. Lordy, queen/king pkg here is about $50 so worth a trip. It's also amazing how much my totes take, batting in the pockets, inner and outer bags and handles..doesn't take long and the roll is used up.
Not sure what the weather will be like today, must turn on breakfast television and have my coffee
Good Morning ...
Drizzly start to an ITCHY day, for me, I looked up the placquinal side effects, and, it seems, I have one of the more 'obscure' ones :-(
Obscure, but, dangerous, so, as of today I am OFF it .. will take another benadryl (DH says I was dreaming like a trooper last night) and go to bed once DH starts out for WI and Lorna goes to work, and the dogs are watered (again)
I have NEVER had a rash this LARGE .. bottoms of my feet, to the top of my head ...
That's quite the deal for batting at Joannes, Karen, hope it happens again this year.
Hope everyone has a stellar day ^_^
~M~
Sorry to hear you are under the weather "M". Reactions to things are so stressful. Maybe you should get it checked out. About 12 years ago I had a reaction to codeine and passed out cold. I had taken it before so we don't know what happened. Just know I wear an ID necklace with a warning on it for no opiates.
Betty your projects look wonderful. I thought I might try the hourglass blocks too but not yet. I'm nearing the finish line with the star blocks and want to get the top put together. I know I said I would try for pictures but something is going wrong with my camera. Norm is taking it to the place he bought it (a regular camera store) this week and we will see what is going on with it.
I buy my batting by the roll too but when this current one is gone, I may switch to yardage. It takes up a lot of room and I don't have that much!!!! LOL
Your corn looks delicious Joyce!!! What else do you freeze?
Glad you had a good trip Bev. Who did you get to see in Branson?
Off to the sewing room so waving to all ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning.....at least I think it is. A few more sips of coffee and I will be awake.
M, I can only imagine the discomfort you must be having...ouch!
I have given some thought to buying batting in a roll now that I have some space to call my own!! Still sorting through boxes of fabric as I made a promise to myself that unless I really "loved" it, it wouldn't go into the new sewing room. Amazing thing, I love every piece I have! :-) On the other side, it must be thinned out.
Not sure what we should expect weather wise but we did have some really nasty thunderstorms yesterday. It was only 40% chance but did we ever get a downpour complete with high winds, thunder and lightening. I will take the rain but the other stuff can go.
Waving to everyone and hoping your day is extra special.
Marilynne, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Hope you feel better soon.
The only other thing I freeze is roasted tomato sauce. You need such a small amount of it since it's so rich, freezing in very small amounts is the only thing that makes sense.
Bill has his surgery dates. September 2nd for the filter and September 4th for the kidney stone removal. Sure will be glad to get those over! Keep us in your prayers, please.
Off to get ready for garden club. Have a lovely day, all!
Sending prayers for sure..you will have a new man when this is over!
I am just sick to my tummy, almost like something terrible is going on and I'm not being made aware of it
Called Greg yesterday and today, he never not answers, Paul called looking for Julie's telephone number (Jeff's better half). Suzanne called and made note she had some serious things to attend to
Drats, sure hope something is not wrong with my family!!
Sending prayers your way Betty. Keep calling his phone, he will answer soon!
