Karen, I am so sorry to read what your family is dealing with.....but so grateful everyone is okay.
I, too, feel like I have lost something.....I loved Mrs. Doubtfire. Mental illness is so scary and I wish more people didn't just think it was something you can "just" get over.

Most comedians are depressed, and all they know is to try and make things funny. Too many comedians have taken their life way too early!
Karen, saying prayers for all those in the bad weather, especially your family!
For sure Betty, So helpless being so far away. Not that I'm much use anyhow. LOL
Sending prayers for all the storm people. Please stay safe. So glad your people are okay, Karen.
Sad about Robin Williams.
We've had a little rain, less than a half inch, but better than nothing. We could use it, but I don't want Karen's!
Karen - glad to hear your family is safe....... albeit WET. Things can be replaced, people can't.
speaking of which - Robin Williams........my fav movie of his was Patch Adams
Heartbroken, DS just called crying he's lost everything...furnace, water heater, washer, dryer, furniture. Much much more. Nothing covered by insurance. Even if he'd had flood ins. it would have cost $500 and only paid $5000. He's talking about just walking away. He's worked so hard.
Awe, so sorry to hear that Karen!
Oh my Karen, how devastating for your DS and his family ..
My DH has always said 'we're INSURANCE POOR', and, when you go to claim .. well .. look out !!
I so hope that they find some comfort in the fact that, as a family, they are all OK ..
So much re Robin W on the net, makes me feel bad he didn't reach out for help .. according to a few sites he was quite open about his depression.
Loved Patch Adams as well Susan, and, Awakenings .. heck, ALL his movies were wonderful ..
Betty I'm sure no one thinks your a resident .. hope your Mom keeps her room there ..
Off to pick some tomatoes for lunch
M
Just heard grandson's new house flooded as well. Pretty sure our former house is as the neighbors are. Governor is to address flood issue in a few minutes. Better do the right thing. Thousand have damage if not houses, their cars are sitting in several feet of water.
Hi - I'm still in San diego. Just wrote to my doctor as I'm still in alot of pain and ten days of antibiotics hasn't helped much. I'd go back to the ER but they would just send me back to him. He knows me pretty well and I'm hoping to hear from him soon. If necessary, I'll go back to the ER and make a fuss. Lost yesterday. No results on biopsy yet. My breast is still a little sore but nothing unusual.
I have been packing and repacking my van. Got bags and bags of toys at a thrift shop on Sunday. I still have one side clear for my bed and I do sponge baths at WAlmart or wherever. Lots of books from Goodwill and I'm near Kaiser so I'm hanging in.
miss you all but will check in as I cna.
hugs, katie
Katie, so glad you are not rushing to get ome and making sure this pain issue is addressed. Hoping dr calls you for follow up, just not norml
I cn see you re thinking Christmas, stocking up on items
Sure wish you had a place to stay vs sleeping in your vehicle..sending prayers and soft hugs
Karen, news doesn't get better does it.
Went to the fabric shop, bought enough to do another sunset quilt and they just got in hockey fabric so I'm thrilled, can now start
Used up chocolate fabric I had left and made aunt Muriel her tote bag, will leave it with mom for next time she visits

Karen - Glad to hear they're physically "ok", but to lose all your belongings like that....... so stressful and disheartening......
Katie - living in your van? Gosh, I hope the Dr gets back to you soon! I'm pleased to know you're not budging until you hear something re: pain control..........
Whew the mayor has declared a disaster area, they have volunteers rounded up to help people clean out their basements and has asked the Senator to seek FEMA funds. He has also said that there will be trash pickup as often as possible so people can put ruined stuff to the curb without have to wait for regular pick up day.
So now we will see how much of this actually happens and how much help my son can actually get. My other son and sons-in-law are going over to give him a hand and I expect others in the family will too.
That is good news.
Morning all
Great news Karen that the family will help, here is hoping the city does the same !
Mega storm last night, lots of boom/bang and light show
It has started here this morning. Supposed to go all day and into the night with mega rain and T&L. Not good when you work outside!!!! Norm may be home soon today.
Hoping the help comes for your son Karen.
All your family can do Karen, is, 'Hope for the best, but, prepare for the worst' .. have heard that phrase used many times in situations like this.
The clean up will be daunting for sure.
No rain here, but, the temps have tumbled a bit .. only 49F this morning, but, and expected high of 75F this afternoon.
Hopefully Barb you won't get MEGA amounts.
I 'think' DH and I are heading for town for a bit of shopping ..
Best get a move on
TOODLES

Morning everyone! Betty, your up early!
Hydro was out in many locations until early morning
Feels as though I ought to put on warm clothes, chilled guess from dampness
Branson,

Love going on vacation with you through your pictures! Thanks for sharing and keep me coming!
Chicago has some awesome structures for sure!
Enjoying all the pictures and catching up. I had a DG error somehow and was locked out for two days. Finally got me back in!!!! yay!
Then, I had to do something stupid....and stepped wrong. Am on "elevation and rest" for a bit.
Always when I have plans!!! Stepped backwards and heard a "pop" in my lower left leg. Apparently tore a calf muscle ...sigh.
Not much else happening, Taking to reading books right now. lol
Waving hello to all, missed you and am catching up.
Debbie
OUCH! Debbie that sounds painful! Keep it elevated till the Dr. says it's OK!
Austin Texas
Not many picutres taken her as Linda fell and had quite a mix up
Capital Building where Linda fell
Bridge from which 1 1/2 million bats leave for eats at dusk..can do up to 50 miles in one night, all back early morning to sleep and digest their eats.
hard to see but it's one continuous line of bats in the sky
Seeing those bats is amazing!
Payton's surgery is done, all is well. Finally the end of that darned appendix.
Great news Karen!
Are you selling alll of your furries Sue?
When will the documentary be aired?
Went to Boston Pizza, ordered spaghetti for om, $21.36
She had a desert plate worth and rest into garbage.
I could have made enough to feed 20 for that amount
Sharon is picking her up at 8am to take her to Toronto for the specialist..almost positive she will get a good report
Oh gads what a bunch of hooey! $21 for spaghetti? Outrageous! Hope she gets a good report.
The show about Sue's daughter doesn't air until sometime in 2015.
