Thanks for the new room Betty!

Sounds like you need to hurry and go back to get that fabric while it is on sale! Never know when you will need more fabric!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Most of the Xmas fabric was $3.00 a yard

Bought 3 fall panels, not sure what I shall do with them bit I lkely will find something to use them in
Was gong to have lunch but decided to wait for supper
Thinking if I ate a big lunch I'd not be hungry at 5:15 and if I didn't eat my entire supper it would be fuel for the 'bad food' rumor.

Bag of boggles tasted good though

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a great price!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Thanx for the move over Betty ..

Lorna fell today :-( onto her prosthetic leg .. had she have fallen on her 'good knee' well, lets not go there.
Am just happy she's only 8 minutes away, but, she stayed at work even though she wrenched her back .. stubborn woman !!!!!!!!!!!!

Have some pics of DH Hibiscus, will share a couple of pics a bit later ..

I am off to bed .. DH leaves for a Sportsmans show with 3 buds in the morning ... only for 2 days ..

Stay sweet

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats that is not good, she will be sore tomorrow..
Was someone around to help her get uo?

LindaKay, how is your dad today?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dad was doing good today! is said he was sitting up and eating breakfast when she got there. He is still on the morphine, and that makes him sleep, but he is in good spirits!

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is good news LindaKay!

Some boom bang going on..guess there will be no grass cutting today

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good morning Betty. Pass me a cup of Timmies please....I need it as I don't normally get up at this hour.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I'd toss you one Karen, but, I kinda think it wouldn't make it :-)

LindaKay great to hear your Dad is doing well ... prayers remain with you and yours.

Betty, did you get the rain? After a July that dumped 4" of the stuff on us, we haven't had 'drop one' in several days ..

Crows are VERY vocal this morning ..
Lorna is stiff but determined to go to work, nothing I can do or say will stop her, she is on a mission!!

DH whould be up soon and getting his breakfast going, plans are for his policeman friend to pick him up at 9am .. they have a 4 hour travel west to Dryden ON.

Think I'll make that Timmies (Keurig) .. and.. let the cat in and the dogs out, sheesh !!

Good morning.
Glad to hear Dad is doing okay LK; And that Kim is on the mend Marion.
It will take time Betty but Mom will adjust. I think she will enjoy being around others. And we know she can hold her own when she disagrees with someone! She will be fine.
Having Sean for the day and overnight. School starts soon.
Have a great day everyone.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Took that ever lovin bull by the horns and downloaded a few pics from my cell ..

This years Hibiscus, bouquet of roses DH gave me, and an old gentleman who feeds the ducks every morning at a local park, we had had Zoey there for a walk when he cruised by on his scooter .. a Vet of WWII .. very nice man ..

Morning everyone.

Looks like you all got very little sleep?

I need to get the hummers fed, and sweep the dog fur out of the house... again! Hard to believe how much these two dogs can shed!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful flowers "M"!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Restless night for sure, kept having bad dreams and old bones aching, likely from all the sitting I did on vacation.

Those blooms are gorgeous "M"

Guess Lorna is no different then the rest of us, too stubborn for our own good lol

Marion, made you a double cup, added a few timbits as well.

Sat here this morning and checked dates for fall and Christmas shows, marked them on my calendar .. Imagine fall shows already!

Wonder how Dianne and Katie are doing?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, are you going to post vacation pictures? Would love to see what you saw!

Hard to believe it is August already!

When I was in San Antonio, Hobby Lobby had all the Christmas stuff out already!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Morning all, stiff and sore this morning. DGS took us to the fair yesterday. Quite a bit of walking even for a small fair. Quite a few quilts on display and a few women sitting hand quilting. Amelia was a hoot, at first she was afraid of the animals but as soon as she got the nerve to touch one, she had to touch them all. To the point we had to pull her away. The 4 H kids were wonderful with her.

So glad your dad is getting on well Linda. Our big dog is a lab/golden mix, talk about hair....sheesh it's everywhere.

Thumbnail by siliolegma
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Looks like she enjoyed the animals!

We have a German Shepherd and a black lab/pit mix! I think Blackie's very short hair is the worse, cause it sticks to everything!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We had a black lab and a golden at the same time. Labs hair would just drop and lay everywhere, but the golden...hers would drift and float in and under everything. Both are over the bridge and I still miss them. It's why we got Molly, she's a combo of both.

This is Molly Malone because we got her on St. Patricks day. Hard to get a photo of her she's very camera shy.

She is beautiful.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Got to say, hanging my head, I blamed Sailor for all the hair but I'm getting almost as much with Missy and Riley.

haven't looked at the photo's LindaKay, in cleaning mode today to will sit and post on Monday.

Just finished organizing my fabrics, now I'll go into the totes and see what is finished or needs finishing and see what I need to buy in order to finish, batting for sure!!!

Amelia's a hoot..no fear, but then kids are like that..brings back memories of your own kids growing up doesn't it Karen

Linda just called, wow, talk about expensive to get sick..she now has to prove when she crossed the border, what hotels she stayed at enroute, where she went after she was in emerge etc etc..luckily I have in the travel log manual confirmation of room bookings

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wonder why they are making her prove where she has been?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Likely they want to make sure she wasn't over the border, fell, then had someone get her insurance, only thing I can think of

"M" was thundering last night, woke me up but no rain

Hoping after visiting with mom I can cut grass

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Insurance companies prey on the sick .. I think they hope your PROOF is invalid so they can tell you to bug off ..
When Lorna was flown to Wpg to have her leg seen to .. there was no room o the air ambulance, I was assured the Northern Health Travel Grant would look after me .. I drove the 7 hours to get there, had meals and accomodation for one month (1200.00) .. I saw NOT one penny, because, I was NOT on the plane with her .. a 2 seater one patient and paramedic plane .. i rattled cages but in the end, I gave up.
I asked for my gas there and back, waived the accomodation and meals and parking .. nope, no way .. pathetic ..

Chuckling re the dog/cat hair .. one of the BIG pluses for Westies is they shed very little. Well, I bought one of those super duper turbo charged mondo sucker vaccums .. you should have seen the animal fur after one go over, I was stunned !!!
Betcha Dianne has lotsa fur too, and Katie .. hmm .. sure hope they're both doing OK, worry when we haven't heard.

Got my notice for my Dave's Membership today, had best got on it ..

Watering to be done a bit later .. the green pepper plants are producing well, but such teensie wee peppers ..

LOVE the name Molly Malone ^_^ ..
DS boston terriers are Molly and Winston

Guess we're on the same page with house cleaning Betty .. I was just going to sweep the dining area .. but, there were crumbs on the table, wiped the table down.. DH was given a beautiful mahogany lazy suzan from a fella who was moving and no longer wanted it, I quite like it, altho, it takes up about a bit less than a third of the table .. have the serviettes and salt an pepper and 'stuff' on it, quite a handy dandy gizmo, and, HEAVY !!!
Anyway, then I decided the kitchen floor could use a quick wash, which led to cleaning the sinks .. arrrghhhh .. I finally said ENUFF ALREADY!!

Heading outside for a bit, enjoy your Mom visit Betty .. would love to seeDianne, or Katie or Mary post .. I think Susan is off camping ..

Victoria Harbour, ON

not sure why we get insurance if it's a fight to get covered..guess the alternative wouldn't be good.

gee whillikers, I sure do need another cupboard for fabric but am running out of space

"M" when you get that cleaning urge no sense stopping, can do twice the amount of work.
Guess you are trying to get caught up with Lorna working and hubby gone for a few days.
I was away and got my subscription notice, forgot and then got a reminder again..done for another year.

I'm still in jammies, comfy and relaxed but guess I'd best make myself presentable.
Making a list of what I need in town, save me a trip tomorrow unless Sharon doesn't visit mom then I will go.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just wanted to let everyone know, that we are so thankful for all your prayers for my Dad. He came through surgery just fine, and is being returned to the nursing home this afternoon. It is a skilled nursing home, so the staff will be there to keep an eye on him!

mulege, Mexico

Hi Everyone - I'm still in chula Vistsa. Got an email from Maria; she and Tony are watching over my house and dogs so I can rest and recover. Taking antibiotics for bladder infection. Biopsy went fine yesterday. Doctor assured me that we both did great. Will get results early next week. Still some pain from infection but I'm on the mend and resting and reading. Will report any news as it happens. I may go to a rest stop about 20 miles north of here for a couple of days as I am still wiped out from everything but definitely better all the time. Thinking of all of you and am most grateful for all the prayers and good thoughts being sent my way.

hugs, katie

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

prayers continue Katie....
Hoping Dianne can pop in if only for a "HI"

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow Lindakay, sure doesn't take long to discharge him..would imagine he'd get great care at his home..is it closer to your sisters place?

Marion, how is your sister..you haven't said much so I imagine she is well.

Katie so nice to hear from you..less pressure on you kowing tony and Maria are looking after the house and furries..take your time going home, you still aren't up to par..

Debbie, how is Marla, none the worse for wear?

Nice visit with mom, aunt Muriel had been there earlier, said they had a lovely visit..sure wish she could get an apartment n Coldwater where aunt Muriel is..say a prayer will you

Thought I might still have energy and could play downstairs for a bit but nope, too tired

Quick trip to make sure iron, sewing machines are off then to bed I go.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good to hear from Katie ... are you staying with someone?
Fingers crossed and prayers sent for good biopsy results ..

LindaK, good to see your Dad headed back to familiar surroundings .. all the best for him an your family ..

Well .. the fall at work has jarred Lorna's back, she is one hurting unit .. she sees her prosthetist on Monday, so, has the day off, she feels her leg might be off kilter ..

DH is doing well at the Sportsman's Show .. he has a presentation this morning during the show ... then it'll be back to business selling, and BUYING LoL

Going to be another HOT day here, should hit 85-90F WITH humidity .. not sure what the plans are .. kinda worried about Lorna ..

Betty, Sue is doing very well, thanks for asking. She has gotten involved volunteering at the local wildlife rehab center. She does tours once a week and loves it. She has reconnected with some of the other retired teachers she worked with and goes out to lunch and other things. Rough days every now and then but has learned this is normal.

Upper 90s expected here today.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Break time, cutting grass and deadheading..I can see my neglect in the garden, with vacation, trips to Toronto when mom fell and the likes well just not nice..at least if I deadhead it might look a tad better..thought it was lunch time but only 10:30 sp guess I will find something for breakfast!

So glad to hear that Sue is doing well, you sure got her over the hump of lost your mom..she was lucky to have you.

Sorry "M" to hear that Lorna has major problems from her fall..let's hope she rests and can get back to work..imagne the position ends n the fall?

Not sure if any of my siblings are visiting with mom, if she hasn't had company I will run in later..I've her laundry to do, had hoped she would have visitors Sat and Sun and I'd be off

Aunt Muriel when she saw the bag I made for the wheelchair reminded mom that I promised to make her one so maybe tonight and early a.m. Tomorrow I will make her one..think I've enough blocks/fabric from the chocolate fabric to do so

Better not get too comfy, work to do

just a quick check in
LK so glad dad is doing good
off to get some rest
i m moving Jessica's garden today. Lots of work
back at it

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Gag me!
Heat and humidity are not my friend!! It's about 90F here something we aren't used to.
Thank goodness for air conditioning.

Went into the city to pick up some meds for Lorna, went for groceries, bought a BBQd chicken so no cooking tonight....yay!

Sitting on the patio enjoying the summer breeze that just came up...
Maybe we'll have a bonfire later, depends on how Lorna feels... DH should be home by midnight.

Marion, so nice to hear Sue is back on track.....

Best go plug this playbook in

Cheers

M

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nice breeze here "M"

Was thinking the same, keep throwing things in the fire pit and it needs burning, maybe tonight if the wind dies down.

Sandwiches for me nless I order something from next door. Your BBQ chicken sounds yummy, drats should have stopped in at Foodlamd

Sue, how come you are redoing Jessica's memorial garden?

Made a quick trip into Midland, needed gas for lawnmower so I can finish the lawns, ran in and saw mom for about 20 minutes..mike and Kim as well as aunt muriel had been in the morning then her realtor friend who has a cottage in penetang stopped by..could see she was tired so home I came..doubt anyone from the city will go tomorrow so likely I'll go have supper with her.

Guess I had better get that grass cut

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Sunshine day in my neighborhood, feels like a fall day, gardens are saying the same.

Been up since 6am

Got everything in order, cleaned 3 decks, talk about dusty furniture ! Should get the power washer out and clean decking with javex, they need a good scrubbing but not today, will put that on next weekend's 'to do'

With everything done upstairs I'm just having coffee and waiting for the street to waken so I can finish the trimming, hoping they don't sleep till noon.

Was reading local newspaper and thought of Mary, local entrepreneur just opened a vintage gelato truck..included in the write up is a recipe for a Sicilian recipe for Decadent Dutch Chocolate Gelato..I have never tried to make ice cream before, wonder if I could

So what are you all up to this Sunday morning?
Off to make another cup of coffee then might try and finish quilting the piece on the frame.

I

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Lazy morning here. Norm's nephew spent the night and I'm playing here to be quiet. He is in my sewing room so I can't go in there!!!! Should be up soon as breakfast is cooking and he loves to eat!!!!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Up and nursing my first cuppa ..
Have been outside a couple of times, still muggyish here, but, the Blue Jays scream until someone goes out with their peanuts, beautiful birds ..
I kinda think there 'might' be smoke in the air, seems kind of smokey .. the fire pit is out cold .. but, I keep hearing we could get smoke here from the fires in the Yukon ..
DH pulled in at 10pm .. he wasn't driving, his policeman friend was, I was shocked .. it should have taken them longer to get home, but, Fred is a 'pedal to the metal typa driver .. I worry as there are moose, deer and bear running out onto the highways to escape the bugs in the bush..anyway the fire was nice, really cools off quickly here .. today I do believe there is a 40% chance for rain .. we'll see, it'd sure be nice for the gardens ..
DH brought blueberries home, so, I see a pie and a crumble being made once everyone is up.

Lorna's back is 'so/so' .. she's babying it.

Betty, I never heard of scrubbing a deck with Javex, wouldn't that take off the finish?
Hope your Mom is doing well today.
LindaK how's your Dad doing?

Hopefully Mary is extremely busy with the shop ..

Marion, so nice to read Sue is feeling better ^_^

Best get busy doing something quiet ..

Barb, is this the nephew that visited recently? Great for Norm having him drop in..
Likely the wonderful smells of food cooking will wake him..

Nice treat for you "M" having hubby home earlier than expected although worrysome as to the speed they were travelling.

Crows aren't happy about something here, squawking big time.

My decks are natural wood, I usually take a gallon and swab the deck, leave it for 1/2 hour or so then take power washer to them, cleans them up..dirt is from sap falling from leaves..downfall of having trees over two of them

Playing lazy here, didn't even make it downstairs

This time I will

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I was a lazy bird this morning...of course we did stay up very late watching episodes of The White Queen. Cooler temps predicted for the day...thankfully as yesterday we had heat advisories.

Not much planned for today.
