Synda, I still have a pair of pjs with "Grandpa" on them that Abbi gave to Ross the last Christmas he lived....never worn (bothered is incision from a surgery). They are tucked neatly away in a drawer and when I open that drawer...I always smile.

Hope all of you are hanging in there, like I have been LOL And by hanging I really mean hanging...........................Doug and I got a Teeter Hang Up inversion table. For over a year I had a twisted muscle in mt right side. After using this thing two or three times a day it is slowly untwisting. Today was the first time I went all the way upside...talk about a head rush LOL ^_^

Plenty cool here Marion, we don't get much over 70. I have a couple kitchen utensils from my grandmother. A green handle scoop I keep in my flour and her sifter. I get more pleasure from these than I would from something that just sat around. I have other things from her too, afghans, some baby booties and best of all her mothers' (my great granny) Christmas cactus.

Would you believe that July's a busy month for my mother? Sister Zi was born on the 26th and Dad's b'day was on the 28th. Then Zi's daughter was born on the 27th... Mum was with her on her first day into the world :(

Anyway, I've been cooking up a storm. Old fashion "Rendang", a complex dish that requires hours of cooking. Don't have all the ingredients like Kaffir lime leaves and lemon grass, but I learnt to modify with tamarind and lime peels.
Basmati rice cooking now, and soon, I'll get to enjoy my well deserved b'day meal, no thanks to Kel!
It's too spicy for him, so Chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatball for his lunch..

Guess if you want something bad enough, you got to do it yourself.

Weather's great. No showers, but the flies and mosquitoes are here.

Thanks Cookie and Synda. Was a very nice day yesterday. A couple of family members called and ex did as well. Imagine being married to this guy for more than 20 years and he still didn't remember my b;day, had to be reminded by his niece.

Got my surprise. Truly unexpected. It's a new Fuji bridge camera, 16mp with 50x zoom. I won't go into the details how he managed to pull this one off without me finding out. It includes a friend, eBay and a set of appliances (I hope)

Sue, I did a crazy thing yesterday since reading your jam and pickling experience. Was given some fresh strawberries, and since I'm not really caring for that anymore, I decided to pickle them!! Lolol!! Yes!! Got a jar of bread and butter pickling juice and just put them in whole.
I had done something like that with baby carrots, and they turned out great!
Now I'll wait and see whether this experiment works.

Bills to pay.. got to do that as thousands of jobs are dependant on my being on time with payments..

Morning everyone. I am back home and had a wonderful day with Betty on the river walk, the Alamo and the tower of Americas. It was a long hot day, but I really enjoyed it.
Saw my Dr. and he gave me a shot in the hip and arm. Lets hope it works for awhile this time!

Sis Kathy, I've never done this before, the first for me. I can't do sweets, so I thought of pickling them. Just now found a bunch of strawberry pickle recipes online... none as easy as mine :D Think it will be savory and I'll just use myself as the guinea pig!!

We took a trip to the tower of Americas. Getting up there was the hardest part. Going up the elevator 75 floors to the top of Tower of the Americas was a bit knee wobbly, but I really enjoyed the view once I got up there.

We stopped for lunch at Dicks last resort. There job is to insult you in every way they can, but all in fun. You ask for mustard for your burger, and the waitress comes back with a handful of packages and literally throws them on the table, here is your bleeping mustard.

Then we all got personalized hats. Quite funny! And Betty got up and danced with the Mariachi band!

Yes, last year (June) is when we got flooded in Calgary and had to be airlifted by helicopter back home - won't happen again this year lol
