Love your pictures "M"!

mulege, Mexico

That's great news, Betty. Sorry your mother isn't doing well but glad she is accepting her situation and not fighting you all the time.

love the pictures. I started looking at funny cat pictures on Pinterest and lost a couple of hours.

Didn't know there was such a thing as elephant ear rhubarb.

Omg, so laughing at last photo, don't think they are frazzled by Zoey haing all your attention.
Garden is doing well
My goatsbeard are starting to yellow, going to have to move them all come spring

Puppies!!! Love those little westies, all 3 are just so cute!

Its been overcast here all day....and is actually a little chilly out.

Betty fingers crossed for Mama Fran.

Not much else going on except I have a rabid beetle eating my day lillies and I am not happy.
They open and the petals are already eaten up.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh no Debbie, so hoping you don't have the lily bug as once you have them you no longer can have Lillie's..unless of course you want to make your life a bug picking one.

I bought one at a market and guess I brought it home with me

See if you can find these

Gives a bunch of suggestions to rid them but nursery said its to no avail

Just packet my space bag (grinning)We are all allowed I med size bag, that goodness all my outfits take no space..I've enough to change 20 times in an 11 day trip so should be plenty

The girls are coming over Thursday night, told them to bring their FILLED space bag and tote so we can see if all ncluding walker will fit n my mini trunk..be a miracle if it does. Lol

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Hmmmm .. so once you 'UNPOOF' the space bag .. does it get big ?
Was amazed at how it squished down the tote you sent.
Ohhhhhhhhh .. watch your snailmail ^_^

DH picked strawberries this morning at a local farm .. OMG, big n sweet n juicy .. I made a coffee cake, that used up 4 cups, I think we may have to eat the rest .. I don't really want to make freezer jam .. too sweet for DH .. have an easy muffin recipe though, and, freezing a bag is a good option I guess .. we've all been snacking on them, here's hoping our tummies like it .. good thing we have more than one bathroom, just in case LoL

Debbie, how awful re your lillies .. I ran out and checked mine, still just in bud and still down inside the leaves, everything looks OK .. the asiatic ones will bloom by the weekend ..

Hoping Dianne is Ok, and Mary ..

Katie .. do you have any cats ??

Best get off here and DO something before I go to bed ..

Sleep well

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" medium size bag allowed me to put a pair of jammies, bathing suite, 18 - 2 piece outfits and 3 pairs of peddlepushers (do they even call them that now)?

yes, when it opens they are fresh as can be. I bought a mini portable air compressor so it should do the trick..told the girls to bring an extra bag just incase a bag gets punctured..trying to think of everything..their tote bags like you have will be for their personal items , toiletries..

I was given by aunt Muriel a whole bunch of fabric..think this week I`ll make a bag with cord that our space bags fit in, might even embroider Roadtrip 2014 on them, think they would like that.

Betty, what are your plans for San Antonio? Does it include the Alamo?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I posted my caterpillar quilt on the quilt chat thread. I can't link from my phone.
It is just big blocks right now...butttt I am loving it ;)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, is this your car on the return trip to Canada? ^_^

Hahaha! That will be her on way across border if they want to open those bags and she cant compress them there!!!

I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty what is your route?

Baton Rouge, LA

Debbie - Try to sprinkle some cayenne pepper on your lilies !

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

LOL .. LOVE the cartoon of the little car that could ^_^
Friends come back from South Padre Island each spring loaded down like that .. it was never an issue before they had their first grandchild .. now their SUV is PACKED full .. in fact, Virginia (the wife), had to ride in the back with 4 lampshades on her lap !!

Mary, am hoping you suggestion re the cayenne pepper works .. How are things in your little corner of the world? Have things picked up with the shop?

Betty .. I think the embroidery is a nice touch .. Lawsie, you sure can get lots into that bag !

Not sure what's up today .. I may go back to bed once Lorna goes to work .. Zoey had me up several times last night .. she is a sound sleeping bedhog dog LoL
Course, I'm sure something will need to be done and the next think I know I'll be MAKING the bed instead of crawling back into it ..

Have a good one

Good morning, everyone,

I'm up and watching "Dogs with Jobs" while I have coffee and try to wake up. I'm hoping to work with Tony on our insulation project. I've been recovering from my trip and haven't seen much of him since I got home.

We're having our usual quiet summer here. Too hot and humid to do much and many of the Americans are north for the summer. That includes neighbors Dana and Tom. I miss Dana but it's much quieter without their three dogs conversing with my four.

I signed up for Lumosity and have been playing brain games. I like it and it's something besides poker to do when it's hard to get moving.

Thinking of all of you and hoping the day goes well for everybody.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Our dogs got us up at 3 this morning. Not for sure what was going on, I let them outside, and they just walked the fence area. No urgency to go potty!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Our car was pretty loaded to go downstate last week-end. Fortunately the tote Betty sent me in the RW&B swap. held all I needed, couldn't have fit in a suitcase to save my life.
All the pockets were wonderful for toiletries.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty, pedal pushers = capris.

Love the cartoon. I actually have seen Betty's car like that....when she came back from cleaning Mom's cottage in FL!

Hope things are going well, Mary. Know I'd be eating there if I was south!

Katie, have you looked at the games forum here on DG? Word games are fun!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, rainy day..

Mom is being moved to rehab, luckily it's in same hospital so easy access for mike,Kim and Sharon. Mike and Kim are on holidays next week, Sharon off to a dog show..leaves me, can't count on Bernie (unless he needs $$$). Luckily they will be back by the time I leave. Guess they will know better how long she might be there then if all goes well she will be moved to midland, hop skip and jump, then my free time will be at a minimum.

Joyce, indeed you have seen my car like that. Lol last year as well when we 4 girls dropped in and had the metal platforms holding our suitcases. Capri's, so laughing, you can tell how old I am by peddle pushers

"M" did you go back to bed?

So hope if all stick with the med bag and 1 tote bag , amazing what one holds, the walker will just fit in...I personally don't know how Linda will do with the walking, sure wish I could convince her that we bring a wheel chair. Be less stressful for us to push one vs worry about the pain she is in..

Crissy, we know we will be in Chicago for a day then we don't have booked hotels until Austin san antonio, new orleans, nashville, bkd the gaylord hotel but not likely there more than 6 hrs to sleep, all drive throughs really..perhaps next year we be stationary and can meet up.

Karen , warms my heart to hear you say you've used your tote and it like it.

Katie, know that these trips take a lot out of you (me) and always for the best to rest until you've caught up with a routine. Must be lonely for you with all in USA..when do they traditionally come home?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I not only use & enjoy my tote, I have to guard it so I don't find my stuff in a pile on the floor & the tote nowhere to be seen. " No grandma, I haven't seen it, must be one of the kids"

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Hello to all of you. I call them pedal pushers also. DGGD thinks that is so funny.
Betty, glad your Mom is doing well. Have a great trip.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Nope, didn't go back to bed, did a load of laudry, and, made strawberry freezer jam from the strawberries DH picked yesterday ..
AND< phone calls, good grief .. must have had about 6 so far today..!

Betty, Lorna and I use the toes a lot, in fact, I had someone approach me in Sears the other day and ask where I had gotten it! When I told her the story, she saked if I minded if she had a better look at it .. she was MARVELLED .. so much so, she took a picture !!!
She has been looking everywhere for one like it.

I agree with you re the WChair .. some, if not most, shopping malls have the electric scooters, seem easy to drive.

WOW is it COOL here today !! Only 58F right now, wind from the north ..
Dogs love it, nice to air the house out ..

Guess I better get back at it ,, bought that gynormous fridge, and STILL seem to have problems filling it properly .. thing is, small amounts in large containers .. down sizing on its way ^_^

Toodles

Liz, thank you kindly for the well wishes re mom..we will certainly need prayers in times to come...I'll still call them peddle pushers. Lol. What are you up to?

Well Karen, I put step by step instructions a few months ago, being you sew you can make them one.lol

Glad "M" the totes are put to good use

Just sewed my quilt blocks together, need to look for another winters white and add 4 " borders..
Same think happened last year, had totes filled with redy to quilt projects..best I stop making and start quilting

Got to say feeling like winter isn't to far away

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes you did and yes I can, in fact I did make one. I love my grands dearly but they'd keep me constantly busy with "I want/need thats". My priority is to get the rest of the tree skirts done and then we will see.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I've got some tree skirts to quilt, likely 5 or six, mine are for this Xmas but I believe you have a bit more time than I!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I do indeed seeing as the youngest grand is 12, I doubt he will marry any time soon. I'd just like the feeling of having them all put away waiting.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Smart thinking..I'm making 4 grandsons Xmas quilt, just know they will say 'what to heck! Lol

Hello All;

Katie - I love lumosity.... signed up for free and tonight hubs was trying to sign up and it only had options to charge for the service....
Thanks so much Joyce.... we had a good day today for a Tuesday (usually slowest day).

But still not where we need to be. My good friend brought over a mutual friend who knows a LOT of folks ....and she was smitten by the place... hoping she brings a lot of folks over.

I LOVE my Tote from Betty... took it on the plane and it was so useful and convenient...

If necessary I could stick my whole purse in there and no worries.

I'm reading this book "Law of Attraction - The basics of the teachings of Abraham" where your thoughts create your future. I am trying to stay positive and indeed there are reasons to do so.

Shame on me for not marketing the shop. Indeed that is my forte.... but we were doing so well up to May... I kept putting it off...thinking we'd break even on our own without marketing and hoping summer would be huge when it was actually a slow season due to LSU out/People on vacation.

Now I've started. I'm buying TV and Facebook advertising and we are up to 600+ facebook friends. I'm going to continue as long as I can afford to. I'm buying my TV station ads as well.

HUGS To Debbie who lost her sweet Izzy today. I know that she must be distraught that pup was a large part of her world.

Save Our Strays wants to do pup adoptions at our shop and I am so over the top excited about that. It is just our thing and both will help each other.

Hugs to all
Mary

PS: IF anyone finds "Whirligig" I would SURE love to have a copy for the shop. If not... no worries .....will eventually buy it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Hey Mary, glad to hear you had a good Tuesday! Now that your advertising, things will pick up!
