Don't like being on a downer, yesterday there was just too much going on so I just covered my head and went to bed..

Boom/Bang for a few hours during the night, heavy rains off and on this morning, few alerts but once we get through tomorrow we should have sunshine.

Too early to call and see how mom is doing, I'll wait till 9 or so and call

Hows the rentals going Judy? Do you have a cleaner for between rentals or must you drive up and do it yourself.

Quiet 4th of July, just DH, myself and Kyle & Nate popping in every now and then to get refueled.

Had some thunder bumpers this morning and rain, but nothing too bad as yet. I think is supposed to keep up the next couple days also.

I founf it was running slower than slow, and was having some errors, so DS suggested I do that .. I do find it a bit faster ..
It's an 8 yr old Dell Inspiron .. sure hope she hangs in ..

~M~ I have same problem with pictures on mine. DH burned them to a CD /dvd for me, and we store than in safe....just in case. If I do it every 6 months or so, keeps it moving faster.

Think I had best take my photo's off as well before I lose them..
Wind is up, almost tempted to turn a/c off but it is rather muggy out

Was sitting having coffee thinking abut life in general and I thought about the group of friends I have, was talking to Ann yesterday, told her off Rita's plight with the car..seeing one of her daughters is coming up next week she said she would gladly let Rita have her car ..shaking m head, amazes me how all care for each other.

Sitting here wondering if I've enough energy to go clean the craft rom, seems Dannie (remember she lived with me a bit then I had to ask her to leave as she was moving her 3 boys in and taking over, ended up i was the visitor?) she is visiting from Quebec and will drop n tomorrow, think I'd best clean right?

Think we are about to get rain..

Lol Joyce, opted to go to bed early a d get up at 5am, cleaned craft room..I'm seeing it's a store all for everyone, Rita still has totes of fabric, a table full of her projects then all the girls have their painting supplies/projects..I have to find a way to clean it up someow.

Put about 50 containers of paint in the garbage, likely that much more to go, anything that had less than 1/4 full I pitched.

Now it's coffee time, might throw in a owl of cereal

It's a wonder someone hasn't come out with a proper 'container' and maybe a 'log book' for these sticks .. I just write on them .. basically the years and if it's pics or documents ..

I'm still recovering. Medical tests turned up a urinary tract infection so I've been taking antibiotics. Getting back to normal. Enjoying the dogs.

Today Maria will cook the turkey I brought back. I also have two big artichokes. And spinach for salad.

Sleep is still a bit weird. Lots of pain yesterday morning and I slept hard all afternoon. Sllept off and on last night and am up early this morning.

No urgent work. Watching the national hurrican center website for the weather. We could use some GENTLE rain.

Betty, can someone swith out some of your mother's pills for something less dangerous? Hope her surgery goes well.

Need to look for a pan large enough for the turkey.

Mornin' everyone. I am having trouble sleeping also....so excited about finally being able to move into the crafting rooms! Betty, we both must have had the same idea.....bags and bags of no longer needed sewing items discarded. I did come across one find that will continue to live here. 2 wooden spools of thread with labels still intact...cost: 15 cents. I guess that tells you how long I have been buying thread. :-0 Think I will put them in a shadow box with some other older items I want to keep.

Temps will be in the 90s and we are really in need of some rain. Having troubles keeping most of my plants alive right now.

No I have not heard from Dianne, but she did "like" a couple of my pictures I had put on facebook a coupe days ago. But nothing else.

Betty do you get Buffalo WKBW news at all? I took some sunset pics last night, sent them to the weatherman who asks for unique pics......he messaged me back he loved them and was going to try and get them on tonight....pending weather conditions. He is one that did Izzy in snow last year also.

I once had a pic of our 2 Sugar Maple trees goes blaze orange red on a cold October morning .. I sent it to CBC morning news, and it ended up being the PIC of the Week!! Got a CBC mug ^_^

Just a kinda lack lustre day here ..cool (65F) overcast, and, BUGGY .. which kept me inside baking and tidying and playing SCRABBLE on the computer til I couldn't stand it anymore LoL
Got a 78 point word though !!

My hair is silver in front and dark brown in back. goes with my split personality.

Before I went to town this morning I had to clean up vermiculite from the back of my van - the bag had come open while I was traveling as it was part of my bed. In town, waiting to get into the bank cash room, my friend maria exited from there and she noticed that my underarms were covered with vermiculite. I looked and started laughing -"Looks like I used the cat's litter box!" I said.

She is cooking the turkey and I am trying to make room for us to eat in my air-conditioned bedroom. I've taken stuff off the shelves to organize it and search for lost itmes so things are piled high all around. And, of course, all four dogs want to be in here both to be with me and because it's cool.

Met a young American couple who are livin here. Spotting me as a gardener (my dirty feet give me away, I think) we talked and I invited them to coome out and get some parsley plants which I hope haven't all died in this heat. I am becooming quite sociable. Think it's the good influence of Betty and the rest of you.

Must put the artichokes on to cook.

DH and I have been to Barbados many times, betcha I saw the plant, but, just don't remember .. kinda like when I used to travel to Florida to see my prents .. after a few days, the Hibiscus bushes became ordinary, even though now I 'OOOO' and 'Ahhhhhh' them

Looks to be another dreary day .. 56F right now ..
I 'think' DH and myself are going to TRY and securely replace the little felt pads on the dining room chair legs .. he did it a month ago and about 50% are coming off .. someone told me to use a glue gun before sticking on the pads? Anyone got a suggestion ?

I would use something like E6000 or a clear silicone glue. Hot glue will pop off. Clear silicone will take longer to dry, but will last longer.

As for mom, she was a bit confused yesterday I thought, not up and at it as she should be only because her blood pressure is really low so she gets the dizzies. She did get to sit in a chair for a bit last night. Says her ankle is hurting more than her hip so they took her down for X-rays after supper, who knows maybe they were dealing with her hip and didn't check further so we will see what gives.

"M" do the chairs have wooden legs? If so I'd purchase the ones that screw into the leg and yes, I'd use the e6000 glue.

Katie, just love hearing you are out and about meeting and making new friends..always say,

Got busy doing laundry, then scrubbing the bathrooms so we didn't get around to the chairs, DH is going to purchase some of that glue you mentioned, just getting tired of flipping 8 chairs over every couple of months.
They are wooden.

Made a broccoli, cheese and noodles casserole to go with DH barbecued ribs. Certainly looks interesting. :)

Glad for the cooler weather just so it's not too hot to make spaghetti & ribs for company.

Finished the top of the T-shirt memory quilt I made for my DGD of her dad's shirts. Mittsy embroidered the lovely center piece which DGD doesn't know about.
It won't be finished but I'm taking it to show her this week-end. She and my grandson eloped and so didn't have a wedding reception, now they have bought a house so the family is giving them a house warming.

She will absolutely be speechless Karen..what a keepsake!

They had her down for chest X-rays, again her leg, hip and then came and got her for MRI, now she is worried..feel badly for her! Mone thing she has had a lot of company, db mike and SIL Kim, Kim who has been there 3 or 4 times a ay, Sharon, every day, just not today as she couldn't make it..Bryan, her grandson..I call and chat a few times a day, will drive to the city Saturday.

Greg dropped in, wanted to look at something that I said I needed welded, he is not sure what I want is possible but he will see..

Said Kyle dropped in both Monday and Tuesday only to find me sleeping ooops likely same tonight..not sure if it's the weather but Lordy I am tired!

looked at all the pieces that need painting in the woodworking room and decided if I was smart and not to lose the art of painting I'd work on a piece here and there

3 sets of 'an apple a day'..
love doing these..thought I'd overcut the knives but they turned out ok
started to work on a Christmas quilt, needed one more for the grandsons..hard to imagine
these blocks will turn into stars but am sure they will

You have been busy! Love the fabrics in the Christmas quilt. Sure hope you get some dry warm weather soon. When do you leave for your trip? Getting close to packing? Sure hope your Mom is doing better.
