Make sure you take your blood pressure pills Betty!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
Love the 'craftiness in you' Betty .. lovely ..
I must repeat .. your Mom has rights, if she (or the family) do not want her OUT of the hospital so be it .. in the biz .. they refer to the elderly or folks not able to return home, as, 'bed blockers', but, they are human beings, with lives and homes, and if it takes a bit to straighten the logistics of that out, well, that's the way it goes.
If they suggest CCAC, be aware they are NOT a 24 hour service ..
Just hope she's feeling better, that hip deal is everso crappy in the pain dept !
Your trip with the gurls sounds wonderful, have fun fer sure ..
About 84F here .. spent the first part of the day in town shopping, then lunch now home and watching DH cruise around on the riding mower doing the grass . takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours ..
Lorna is taking tomorrow off .. supposedly TStorms, and, as DH has classes and I have 2 docs appts, well, she will NOT see the dogs left alone, in actual fact she has worked FAR too hard this week .. I WISH I had her stamina, but, that right knee is starting to cause her some grief .. she sees the therapist re xrays and possible cortisone shot in August !!!
Stay well and smiling everyone .. thinking boutcha all ^_^
~M~
Ended up being a gorgeous day.
Although I fought nausea all day I met up with Linda for lunch, just didn't eat..Maybe a dish of ice cream is in order.
Played quietly with my quilt blocks, got them cut and ready to sew into the star, Lordy what an easy way to make a star block..was telling Linda, now we will go n search of fabric..with just retiring she needs to keep bus.
"M" too bad Lorna want the cemetery in to top shape after years of neglect caught up in a few weeks..she will pay dearly I'm sure.
Tempted to cut grass tonight as well but know I'd be pushing as well so tomorrow it will be.
Love all your projects, Betty!
Debbie, thar DL is gorgeous and I usually don't care for them that much! That one is a stunner!
Have been trying for over an hour to SAVE a scanned file for Betty ..
ONE more go, and, I am done ..
Betty, keep an eye on your snailmail :-)
~M~
Joyce, thank you...that yellow one just seems like a big ruffle. It has about 8 heads blooming on it right now and I love it. I would love a purple one....but will have to keep an eye out.
My gardens are a mess right now, been painting more and more....to get things done. Next week....DH is on vacation. Not sure what project we will take on....but he is talking painting walls in here....or a kitchen floor (I hope).
Betty, how are you doing? Rest and elevate those legs.
Debbie
Morning all,
Sun is saying good morning so a lovely day in my neighborhood...feels like fall though!
My plans for the day is sewing a bit until the grass/gardens dry, can you believe my car is covered with what looks like dew then I will pull weeds and deadhead.
Tomorrow it's to the city I go, will get up extra early so that after I can be home fairly early in the day.
Ohhh Debbie, you must be so pleased with the look of the house..let's hope once done inside and outside Paul will no longer want to move to Rochester. Your gardens must be so pretty..the daylilly is spectacular.
Marion, are you all organized in your new digs?
Wonder how Mary is doing?
Karen, did the new realtor ever show your property and is it still listed.
Sue, waving right back
"M" what on earth could you be sending me from a scanned file?? Music? Patterns? Lol. Hoping it arrives before I leave in 2 weeks
Still no Dianne, Dianne is you are reading and not up to chatting just know we are sending prayers and hugs..
I've been lazy enough, time to start my day

Morning everyone!
Lightly raining here this morning!
I talked to Susan on Facebook, she has been busy, but said she will pop in when she can!
Betty, are you officially retired yet? It has been a long time since you went to work?
Oh Betty, same ole story, realtors promise you anything to get you to sign with them. Haven't heard a word from him. I'm a believer in things happen for the best, so gotta think I'm meant to stay here. I keep saying if I plant a lilac, I'm staying. Best start looking for the one I want.
just work if needed which isn't often..like it that way!!!
you would need all the rain you can get..hope it continues..bet your gardens are smilling.
Wonderful that things are going well for Susan, been a long time coming.
Still so wet outside
hungry for a western sandwhich, guess I'll make make one then sew a few squares
Love how those blocks are coming out Betty. Hmmmm let's see, how can I make a tree skirt with them?
am sure you can
drats, if I wanted to put 5 across and 6 down I'm 2 blocks short
surely somewhere I can find the Christmas white with holly leaves..just need 2 10x10 squares
Betty I have some, each holly leaf is just a tad over 1/4" if it's the right one, I'll send it. I can mail today.
This message was edited Jul 11, 2014 9:58 AM
I will take photo Karen, I'd be so thankful..all I need to finish the top
Just measure the size of the leaves. Have to send it today going away tomorrow.
Nope not completely moved in yet. Slowed up by another knee problem....moving a tree off my driveway and I think I twisted it or something. I can only work so long and then I have to get off of the knee....have an appointment with the doctor next week. Had another major sized tree fall in the backyard but this time I called someone to come take care of the mess. Damaged the fence between me and a neighbor so that will need to be repaired soon.
Finally after 2 months of arguing and hassling, I have the new cabinet for the new oven here. Now I am waiting for the contractor to get in touch so we can schedule installation. I am so tired of this "hurry and wait" attitude that seems to prevail with workman lately.
Finally getting a little rain today...every thing is so dry it looks burned. Watering just wasn't keep up with things with the heat we have been having.
Well, off to move some move things..after sorting through everything for things I will be keeping.
ooops out picking weeds..omg gardens are overrun by some flowers...guess I should be pulling them out, hate to but gardens have an ever so wild look to them.
can't believe I can't fill myself enough today..so hungry
might take a run into Midland and get Chinese or next door, chicken souvlaki OR maybe both lol
yes Karen, about 1/4"
Heya ..
Love the Christmas crafts/quilt .. the whole deal ^_^
Only 64F here right now, with drizzle.
Had my 2 docs appts .. Rhuematologist put me on a new drug .. start it tomorrow .. have to watch my eyes with this one .. so, off to an Optician for an exam soon ..
My own family doc discovered that my right leg is now shorter than my left leg by 3/4 to an inch .. so, have to have a lift put in my shoe .. so, off to an orthopedic place .. no wonder my back has been sore!
Nice to know Susan is OK .. maybe we'll hear from her ..
Hope Dianne is doing OK ..
Guess I should get a wiggle on
~M~
Betty, the scanned file was the article about 'bed blockers' .. not to worry I can't attach it on here :-)
Birds are chirping like crazy so guess "M" it's because they like this weather.
Wow, what a differance , no wonder you've been off kilter..easy fix with a lift.. now let's hope the meds they've put you on don't do mega damage to eyesight..got to wonder should we stay with the ails we have or play russian roulette getting more than we bargain for, hard choice!
Karen, wanted to say, doesn't have to be right today but do appreciate your efforts..know I can get more at Joann's when Xmas fabric is out but that likely won't be for a few months..don't they know there is but 5 months left till Santa comes? We need to be working in santa's workshop far before that.
That's ok Karen, going to go through my boxes and if not it will just have to wait.
I thought I had posted to let you know I am okay but I really do appreciate everyone's concern.Well I am having quite the time thought I posted yesterday and before that, I had lost ya all and I sure don't know how that happened.
Oh Marion do you need us to send the DG bubble wrap ? Take care of yourself. I too hate this hurry up and wait that all too many professions have now. When I was on the show circuit with the SG I swear every day was a hurry up and wait day.
Sue is it market day for you tomorrow?
Jean I have a favourite new blue eyed soul singer - Sam Smith. Have you heard anything by him? How are you coming with your exercises?
Picked up your parcel this morning Betty. I love it! Pups have already picked up on the 'treat bag' - that once it is in my hands it means we are going for a walk. Betty so kindly as well as the bag made me a pouch to put the pups' liver snaps in. The plastic sandwich bag pinned to my shorts just doesn't cut it.
Debbie can you handle the paint fumes?
My tree lilies are just about ready to open. I think the 1 will definitely be open tomorrow - it is a rich dark red. I just have to hope and pray the deer don't decide to graze down that way tonight.
Oh Katie you had my mouth watering when you mentioned a turkey was being cooked.
LK what are you up to this weekend? How is your dad doing?.
I know there are some weeds out there that are calling my name so I had best go.
Dianne
Hey Dianne, glad to hear from you!
Dad is doing better, but still has shortness of breath. They are working with him, trying different meds, and if that does not work, then they will pt him on oxygen.
Not doing much this week end, but going to San Antonio next week for Granddaughters Birthday on Thursday. She will be 8.
Betty, sure is handy, making those bags. I know the treat bag will make your walks easier!
"M", I too have one leg shorter than the other, and those lifts sure makes things a lot better. It is amazing how that lift takes the pressure off your back, once your walking even!
Nice to see you post Dianne, was indeed worried especially as you weren't pleased with last report..
Glad the parcel arrived and that the treat bag for duke and diesel suits your needs.
I'm pulling yellow and pink flowers out by the handful, sure took over this year..almost tempted to pull them all out!
Marion, drats on the injury..ouch
I think you undertake wayyyy more than you should. Bet Kim and your son are telling you much the same. Hurrahhhh on the cabinet though, been quite a procession of events halting the installation. How is sue doing?
Just spoke with mom, they haven't moved her yet.
Bernie and Charlene are visiting with her tomorrow so I will go down Sunday morning, no sense us all going same day.
She said she hasn't slept in 3 days, dr not giving her sleeping pill at night..did doze off twice, startled by a dream of being in a car accident and now frightened to go to sleep.
She asked if I'd make appt with the mgr where aunt Muriel is and see if I can fill out the application for rental unit..at least she is starting to think along the right direction.
Toughie for your Mom Betty .. good to see she has taken some initiative re her future home ..
Can't imagine how difficult that must be .. AGAIN .. do NOT let them (the hosp) PUSH you .. make your plans on your own time ..
LindaK .. here's hoping the 'lift' in my shoes will get rid of the discomfort I have in my left hip .. looking forward to seeing the orthopedic fella .. maybe tomorrow ..
Dianne, hope the dogs don't eat up all those treats right away, how are you feeling ?
Am going to attempt to post a couple of before and after pics of Lorna's gardens at the cemetery .. just took the pics off her phone, so, it could be a bit ..
Take care everyome
~M~
I am pleased for sure that she is thinking seniors apartment, would be good to have people around her and it's not far from here.
Off I go to Rita's
Good evening.
Lots of Thunder and lightning here....it seems to rain almost every day lately. Some days we get the T&L...lots of Snap crackle pop and very little rain, other days near an inch.
Yes, Dianne...I have heard young Sam. Speaking of Blue Eyed Boogie....have you given a listen to one of my favorites?
Johnny Lang http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tigVYfHVmQ&list=PLDF9461B1A8CE6F88
Betty, hope all goes better for your Mom....as Garrison Keillor says, Growing old is NOT for the timid....
Asking that you all please remember my GSJordan in your thoughts and prayers. He is scheduled for cranial/spinal surgery on the 23rd of July. He has had some real problems lately and finally we have a diagnosis and treatment.
http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/chiari/detail_chiari.htm
Hope the weather is kind and you all have a lovely weekend.
Hello - I'm still around :-)
Moon, my niece had that surgery!! She is now 22 and doing great, but she has the chiari malformation...and also had concussion syndrome on top of that. SO was a rough couple years.
Surgery helped her so much. Will keep your GS in my prayers.
Susan, glad to see you!!
I have Nate & Kyle both here tonight "mom sitting" to keep me upbeat and in line. Don't know what I would do without those two sometimes.
Morning all,
Imagine, next door coffee brewing woke me up lol
Jean, prayers for your grandson and hugs for you.. So much can be done nowdays, amazes me but it still doesn't stop you from worrying. Unusual weather this year, feelsl like fall this past week even the gardens have that look. Hope you are keeping the sunshine for when I'm in the area.
Lordy "M".that's some landscaping, send her my way.
Waving Susan, hope you can drop in when you have more time to let us know how you and bob are doing.
Debbie, know you shine when you've kids in the house, not that these two are kids anymore...fine young men they are.

Good to see you pop in Susan!!!
Thrilled to know that the boys still know who the good people are Debbie.
Lorna does fantastic work "M" - what a difference!!!
Still working on my downsizing in the sewing room. Now that I made the decision to do so, I'm really into it......Going through everything and only saving what I really want......
Jean, my cousin has had the Chiari (zipperhead) surgery as well .. it's been 6 years for her, she's in her early 30s and doing wonderfully well ..
She has a page on facebook .. Cassandra Elvish .. very pro active in the movement to bring more recognition to Chiari Malformation .. there is a Chiari 'Walk Day' here in September, actually I think it might be something that's held everywhere. Will keep your GS in mt T&Ps ..
Lorna has close to THIRTY beds to look after .. and, you can imagine the state they were in after having been left for FOUR years !
But, the 3 fellas on staff are helping her by cleaning up after she prunes etc,
Hi Susan .. nice to see you pop in.
Betty, how's your Mom doing?
Sometimes I feel like Miss Marhta .. lol .. there was a kids show here in Canada called Romper Room, at the end of it, Miss Martha (the hostess) would hold up this ornate handheld mirror, and she's say "Romper, bomper, stomper boo, .. tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic Mirror tell me today, will all our friends have fun at play'? Then she'd say who she could see in her mirror .. actually the parents had MAILED in their kids names to be mentioned .. Murray was so excited when he heard his LoL
Anyway .. I'm hoping everyone I see in my MAGIC Mirror, has fun today ..
Betty, LindaK, Barb, Marion, Karen, Mary, Katie, Debbie, Dianne ...EVERYONE ^_^
Hugs
~M~
WOW! What a difference in those gardens! They sure look nice!
Jean, nice to see you popping in. We will keep him in our prayers for a successful surgery!
Susan, nice to see you pop in too! Hope your both doing well!
Hey Debbie, glad to hear you had company last night.
Barb, sounds like your keeping busy sorting. Do you have places to donate your items too? Are you just getting rid of fabric?
~M~ I loved Romper Room and remember it well!!! That was a good morning laugh.
I had exciting night. Took a few moon pictures and sent them to Aaron again on Channel 7.
He put them on 11:00 news for weather...and also closing out the broadcast at 11:30 to show
for "Watch for the Super Moon". Made a pretty bad week...much better.
Really was beautiful out last night....sat out there and listened to the frogs in the swimming pool next door. They never opened it this year...and it is full of them.
Waving to all....Enjoy your day. Might go to the Pirates Festival in Olcott today. They have a little bit of everything...including Pirates. Arrrrrgggggh lol
Debbie
OMG Debbie, was that moon really outside last night, drats, knew I shouldn't go to bed as early as I did.
How exciting is that, having your photo's on t.v.
soon they will be asking you for input
just love it!!! glad there was a smile or two that came your way
Oh "M" I too remember Romper Room, wasn't long ago I saw a documentary on Miss Martha, didn't she at the time have an abortion due to medical problems with the baby and was taken off air or am I thinking of another show, hmmm maybe Sheri Lewis???? yes, kids couldn't believe Miss Martha could see them in their homes.
Barb, sure wish I was at your house packing up what you are discarding, oh how I'd love that
You sure are on a mission.
well I ran out of white for 2 squares, will look through my grab bag of scraps when on my next break, yard duty calls
I set the blocks on the floor in no special order, rather like this project, could really do another that's how easy it was..big bang for little effort! once the other two blocks are done I will set them in a pattern, sew and put a border, should make a queen size when done
Thanks for the good thoughts and encouraging words. This past year has been a roller coaster ride.
LK...it has been way too wet to dig the Lycoris. I haven't forgotten you.
Beautiful Betty!!!!
First choice of all I am getting rid of will go to the lady who does my quilting for me. She sews for charity with a group of other women at a church a couple of towns away. She has asked me to join them but there is a hill involved and stairs which I no longer do. So my way to help her group is through donating. Then if there are things or fabrics that she doesn't want, I will donate to the local guild here in Manchester. I am not a member and don't care to join as it has a membership of over 200. I like small groups such as what we here are. But I'm sure they would like to have the "stuff". And then there is always Planet Aid boxes everywhere for fabrics. So I'm sure all will have a good home eventually.
