Breathtaking Joyce, I was just starting to have such a beautiful array of them then the Lilly bug came..they say forever I shall not have.

Know you often walk your gardens and ohhh and ahhh, lucky you to have so much in bloom, testament to your gardening skills.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, check this out. It tells how to control the bugs!

This is my first lily. Hope I don't kill it!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks LindaKay, have used neem spray, helped but it was a losing battle. Spoke to a few at the garden centers and all said my soil now has been infected..if I want to spend hours picking these suckers I could try it again but what I don't need are hours looking for these little suckers.
Guess I bought an infested plant!

We have a Lilly farm up the road, not far Joyce from stained glass shop

Joyce you know you never be able to stop at one. Lol

Lyndonville, NY

What a day!!!

The morning went well, loved the new MRI facility at the hospital in Ohio.
He even gave me a choice of music and nice headphones. Didn't feel the
IV at all.

On to the doctor, which went well. Cyst that is wrapped around my spine improved and
is no longer in danger of intruding on into the spinal column like he thought was happening.
He is very happy with my progress, weight loss, and overall improvements. Said still need
some nerve work in the feet....but he is amazing the difference.

I go back in December...then will probably be released. yay!!!

The ride home...horrible!!! Took 2 hours....to go 4 miles. Horrible accident on the I-90
closed the road completely, rerouting took me to another back up from everyone trying
to turn around. Should have been home about 5:30 or 6:00......got home at 8:15!!!
I left here at 5:30 a.m.!!!

Ok, I need to get to bed. Will try and catch up in morning...

Sweet dreams
Debbie.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to her the good news Debbie. Sorry you got detoured on the way home!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Debbie that is the best news ever!! You've put a lot of energy into working on your overall health, paid off big time. You must have felt like a ton of bricks lifted from your shoulders..you went on your own??

A sunshine day

Talk about a lot of crows caw'ing this morning, something must be amiss

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That is wonderful news Deb. I know how hard you have been working even with all the BS going on. Now if we could just hear from Dianne. Wasn't she seeing the doctor this week too. Betty, do you have a choice about who your doctor is or is he assigned to you? I would be very fed up with the non-treatment it seems you are getting.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

He has been my family doctor since I was 26
Did try to change once but because he was involved in all my kidney issues etc other doctor's say it's in my best interest to stay with him..besides, there is at this time such a shortage of doctors that I don't want to take a chance and not get one. He will retire shortly and someone will take over his practice.

1st day on new meds, let's see what happens.

How did you fare yesterday Barb, get all you had to do and home to relax?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Betty are you working on your draped concrete pots today? Take pictures during the process if you do please?

Very nice photos Betty, Such good looking fellas.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree Barb, very nice looking guys!

Betty, what is the 2nd yellow flowers?

Verona, ON

love Sweet William Betty. The deer and rabbits have destroyed any new perennials I put in ppus several annuals plus my treasured yellow day lilies. Sigh!

I have to have another MRI more focused on my inner ear as something is showing up there. Waiting for that date. Also still have to see the ENT in first week of Sept. He is now on holidays for all of July. Yes I am on his waiting list. Also have to see the neurosurgeon to discuss further surgery or radiation. The tumour has grown considerably. The blessing is I am experiencing none of the horrid symptoms I did the last time. So for that I am thankful.

Barb my GP carries a caseload of almost 1000 patients as she is the only one for miles and every other GP in eastern and rural Ontario is in the same boat. None of these young new docs want to come to the boonies - they all want to specialize in the cities and make big bucks. We did have another male doc hired for our clinic and a month in he became seriously ill and is off on sick leave.

Safe travels Betty. Which way are you coming down? Did you hear anymore about the young OPP officer hurt? He was a member of the Golden Helmets an OPP elite motorcycle squad here in Ontario. It scared me when the new said he had life altering injuries. A goose wandered out in front of him.

Exciting news Debbie. Booo on the ride home.

LK did you get all that rain and flooding?

Sue I did a jig in the parking lot of the court house when I was granted my divorce from my first DH. Any dancing from you?

Two handsome men in your life there Betty. Look at the size of Braedon's hands!! How tall is he now? Exciting summer for those 2 DGSs this year. Love the area they are going.

Need to cut the grass but might wait for the sun to come round. The skeeters are so bad it is like walking through a cloud of razor sharp needles. I am not kidding in some places the area is dark from the number of skeeters.

My Goat's Beard is starting to turn yellow already Betty. Like a wizened old man's beard!!! Even the wasps have left it this morning.

Went with some friends and got some out of this world tasting strawberries yesterday plua a stop at the Tomato Lady's where I got some heirlooms. Yum!!! Meryl ordered the berries the night before so they were already picked. I was grateful as I didn't have to spend time bending over which I am not supposed to do.

AC is on and it is set at 77*s. Going to be a hot day.

Need to get off of here and do something.Later folks!
Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear bout y our tumor Dianne!

No rain here this time.Storms went around us.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

So much to grasp on the forum, and, see.
Will reply better later, up to my eyebrows in barking Westies
Busy busy bodies!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne,
thanks for posting the update, is not what we wanted to hear but then I'm sure you didn't want to hear this news as well..with all your dizzy spells perhaps it's better to know and get appointments set to find out what proceedure or meds will help you best.

I so wanted Dianne to take the back route, actually 1 to 1 1/2 hrs shorter but mom does not want to drive north to meet up with us so I'll have to go to Brampton then across the 401, that on a long weekend...drats and more drats.

That is early for your Goat's Beard to turn color already is it not, don't know why I thought I'd have the white blooms all summer.

Sorry the critters are eating up your gardens, so madening..

Braedon is 6', his younger brother is towering over him..I'm thankful that they don't take after grandma at 5' if I stretch..so funny, when having my picture taken with he and Jeff he asked if I'd like him to bend down??? I started to laugh and said no, strand straight and tall.

Victoria Harbour, ON

are you all hidding inside or outside playing..

so humid today that I stayed inside but a little later want to cut grass and try the draped cement pot..think when it's humid it might cure better, we'll see how the afternooon goes.

did finish a tote bag (bright colors) and a furry treat bag

now looking at what scraps I have..think a few of you don't have one

If you don't speak up now or forever hold your piece lol

Wonder how Katie and Deb are doing in their travels

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Well well Betty .. you sure can't deny those 2 wonderful pieces of 'eye candy' aren't related to you !!
Wonderful photos, love the flowers, are those 'false sunflowers'?

Dianne .. carumba .. sure not what you wanted to hear is it ! I don't know your journeys path up til this point, but, it seems you were certainly umwell for a period of time .. huge hugs .. I, for one, HATE the 'unknown'.

Betty I can't find the post with regards to your med changes .. suffice it to say it will be a better result ..

Debbie .. awesome news re the MRI .. I'm waiting for them to get a 'stand up one' here in Thunder Bay, should take about 50 years LoL

Have pretty much listened to dogs barking today .. some periods of stopitude .. but, not many .. Zoey slept like a baby last night .. curled in my left arm .. Lilly and Piper were also on the bed, which is why I have a crick in my neck .. as for Smokey .. well .. UNIMPRESSED is the only word to sum up how he feels .. still waiting for 'the scrap' to happen ..
I'm alone with the hooligans today .. basically putzing around the yard, dead heading flowers, doing some watering .. cool and partly sunny here
Did all the laundry too.
Have a few pics of Zoey to share .. she is a 'shaved Westie' .. ours are always in full coat .. Gord won't have it any other way, but, he sure is impressed with how fit Zoey is and more able to runn around because she hasn't all that fur ..
Can't imagine how the owner is feeling today .. she was heart broken yesterday ..

Okay, blah blah blah, time to get back outside ^_^

Dianne, sad for your not good news, but happy you're not in pain.

So, how is the day going on your new meds, Betty?

Victoria Harbour, ON

So far so good Joyce..

Ooooh can hear the bands setting up for tonight

Some of you gals know its at community center adjacent to my back yard..of course there is a forest easement between us but doesn't stop the sounds..

Remember dancing with many of you when you were here to celebrate Canada Day with me...ahhh sure wish it was my turn again to have you all

Victoria Harbour, ON

Big sigh,

Called mom to say I would pick up aunt Muriel and head the Brampton topickher up, where is she, up here at aunt Muriel's...
So now I must plan another route.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh M Zoey is adorable, I've always had a thing for Westies. Aren't you glad you took her in? I would have in an instant.

Hi Everyone,

Haven't read everything but want you all to know I had a careful and safe and happy trip to Chula Vista. After a slow start here everything is coming together. Got my packages and mail for my friend Maria. Saw my doctor this morning and had a really good visit. got a support thing for my ankle (still a little sore from my accident) and appointment for a mammogram later this afternoon and lab tests tomorrow morning. Whoosh.

I may rest and read for a couple of days. Then get bags of brown rice and dog food which will b my bed on the trip home.

I'm a tad manic but it's a nice change from my usual depression AND I am being super careful not to hurt myself.

hugs all around, katie

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Katie .. you just keep taking care of YOU .. most important ..good to hear everything is going well .. we all worry !!

Betty 'PATIENCE' is a flower that grows NOT in all gardens .. I wish you well with your Mom this weekend ..

I have tried to tire out Zoey today .. RESULT .. one exhausted human. and a Westie who will TRY to conform .. she IS a sweetie ^_^

Suppertime.....

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, nice to hear from you and great that you rested on the way and enjoyed the trip...did you pre book all those tests before going?

Did you open packages? Was there one from Canada, Santa wig and beard? Hoping it did get there.

"M" think zoey has already won your heart, remember, first dibs. Lol

Will be a long night, community just a buzzing and the band plays on..see, you all should have made the trip to celebrate Canada Day with me!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Thunder Bay is abuzz and awash with Canada Day stuff !!
Don't exactly know how you'd choose ..
We'll be here, in bed by 8 or 9pm and waiting for the FIREWORKS .. never sure what night that'll happen .. or.. if it will ..
Hopefully Zoey is NOT paniced by it !! Yep, she HAS won our hearts .. she is quite the little lady ..

Early night here .. sleep well everyone

~M~

Verona, ON

M I am just delighted that Zoey has won your heart. Not for a second did I doubt that would happen though. How is Gord feeling about Zoey now he has spent some time with her? Imagine what is going through little Miss Zoey's little mind. I think I can hear the buzz all the way down here!!

Just as delighted Katie to hear you arrived safely and you are taking care of yourself.

I'll be able to enjoy a concert from my dock on Sun. As part of our Canada Day celebrations there is a concert in the park across the lake. People fill the park, some come and anchor their boats and fish while they are serenaded. Great fun, great sight to see. Our village does not have fireworks but Harrowsmith the next village south of us does.

Mary how are you doing? Sending positive thoughts and vibes all the way to BR. How is Lance coping with the evolution of the business?

LK sending prayers for your dad.

Barb what are you and Norm up to this weekend?

Need to get a quick walk in with the pups so time to dodge and swat the skeeters. The deer flies are becoming a nuisance as well. Those critters love the pups' snouts - poor guys.

Sweet dreams everyone.
Dianne

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We have a nice breeze tonight so the pesky skeeters are kept away. We will have fireworks for the fourth and again the following week-end for the Cherry Festival. They shoot them off over the bay. We don't have to go down for them. Town is in a valley and we are up in the hills so we just drive a bit to get a great view without the crowds. Scoot out and are home before they are to their cars.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Dianne - we are hanging in there... Sales are about half what they were when LSU was in full swing.

Came home for lunch and put baby back ribs in crock pot....figured that would please both Belle and Hubs. Well... the new hire didn't show up for night shift and an oldie more dependable didn't show up either.... so it was just me and Hubs for the night shift at the shop. Both of us showed up for work at 7a/8a... ended the night at 10:30p. I suppose that's what the norm is for owners.

Called a friend to feed Belle and turn the crock pot down.

I'm buying TV, Facebook Boosts and we just sent a mail out.... see how that does...

Thanks for the prayers / positive vibes / thoughts.... we need them all and appreciate each and every one of you !
I've got to post Betty's flowers.....

HUGS
Mary

PS : Gorgeous fellows Betty... Can't believe you have a graduate already..... seems just like yesterday..... LOL

Baton Rouge, LA

These are the flowers that are making such a HIT in the Cafe.... Thank you Betty !
