Your dad comes first LindaKay,not that I don't want to meet up, looking forward to it but dad would be thrilled to see you!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old&new
Hi again! Ohwah, twice in one day! lol.
Betty, So many things to say I'm not sure where to start! So first we'll get the health part out the way.
Glad you were able to get to see the Doc, got new perscript. I sure hope that that is all. But are you having new issues? Is it because of the new meds? And now do you have a pretty new bathroom too?
Oh gosh you have been mighty busy despite not feeling well, it just amazes me how much you get done through all that pain. I am a big baby when it comes to pain, lol it depends on the pain though.
Glad you were able to get the boat canopy done. The bag(S) for Lorna a beautiful. Love the colors too.
Maybe she will model it for you. I did see your Gardens are coming along quite nicely too, as Beautiful as ever.
Betty, what Day are you planning to be in Chicago? Steve will be near downtown, so if he can pull it off he will make plans to spend some time. LOL, you just let me know and I will be there!! We don't know the theme for the decorations, but I am sure you will enjoy them. They always decorate downtown splendidly.
LOL, no Marilyn Monroe moved on to a new Location the next season.
I told Jake you would love to have him visit. He said He would, lol but he needs to get a passport first.
I said you do know she would need some help, right? He said I know and I'd still love to go to Canada!
Katie, lol had a feeling i was missing someone! Anyway, Three cheers for your getting Your Room with A/C in order. On a day like it is here, even I will endure the freeze. So glad you got a place to go and chill, literally! lol...Oh wonderful your got all the paper and insurance and stuff to drive in both places!! I hope your trips are safe and happy!
Breenie said Thanks for all the birthday greetings.
Dianne and Debbie, praying the tests come out Good.
Barb, ooowwwie! meant to say about you nail. I'm so glad your neighbor was able to help you. Keeping you in good healing prayers...I hope the pain of it is subsiding. get one of those finger braces that go around the tip, will help it from getting bumped and touched. Awe but don't feel like a clutz, whatever you called yourself, accidents happen. air kissing your booboo.
LOL, sigh and of course I have a few stories about that.
Linda Kay, As always Keeping Dad in my prayers..
M, OH now you should't have told me that, I am about to hang those pie tins everywhere!!
As for myself. Yes I have been busier then all get up over here, ROFLOL, some mini vacation!
The only computer work I have been doing is for DH. I read on my tablet while half sleeping on the couch at night. If i am not cleaning, I'm sorting and organizing tools. They are still all over the house and slowly getting re-arranged put away or packed up and off to a job. Mix that all in with Yard work, pictures to come.
normal housework and laundry...having visitors, mostly Julia and David at random times. Jacob on Vacation so Breenie, stepped in with her projects and i found myself sewing little bags 20 in all, well finish ten, the other were cut and sewn, until i couldn't do the tie the way I wanted, so, cut them apart, cut them properly and are now ready to re-sew, hopefully by tonight, and a simple strap will be added...LOL, there was no way, no how i was going to tear out all the stitching. Sigh, I should have just did the cutting the first time, but she's got to learn and it was her way of helping, so the bag is approxy 2" smaller...OH, also worked on my rwb, it almost ready all I can say is I'm smiling, its Cool, I think, lol.
So as you can see today i decided first it's my turn to play.
OH yeah, just remembered Betty, I DO remember that Gentlemen. Wow, i think it is real cool that he got in touch with you. Have you talked to him?
Had to go run my Car in to the shop, engine light went on, We are taking the car, thanks to the rain, and that's not a complaint on my part, lol...Hopefully leaving on Thursday, to go home, I am so excitied.
We will be staying at vacation rental place just off the Rez. Hope to get a chance to see everyone.
At the Convention Center is going to be the band Kansas, never seen them so how cool that.
ok been typing a while, going for another break
Be back later with some show and tell..
Betty, do you have dates you will be in San Antonio? I can work my trip around that, either fly up before you get here, and be back when you arrive, or fly up after I see you?
Judy hope you car is an easy fix?
Judy, what a whirlwind you are, so laughing, can read excitement in your post..
We will be in Chicago on Juky 26th, day only, thanks to Steve I can almost be tour guide. Lol. I'm going to book next week a Wendella Boat Tour, so enjoyed it when you Liz and hubbies went on it, of course will ago book the Hancock 95th floor for lunch buffet, the rest guess Navy Pier, park and Magnificent Mile, that about fills our day. Lol
As for the biker Mike Judy he did visit Saturday for three hours, we had a marvellous visit, like old friends meeting after not seeing each other for years.
As for the meds, some of the side effects
swelling of feet/ankles
Headaches
Blurred vision
Tiredness
Being flushed
I've got them all
now wouldn't it be nice for Jacob to drive here and visit??
Judy, smilling, not many left to get a RWB swap box, could you have my name? Lol
Is so, no hurry in mailing, likely won't get to see Debbie until late August/September
What are the bags being used for?
LindaKay have to figure out my dates and will post. Now you should visit dad after I'm back and you could take part of a week to visit me in Canada.
Jus hate the thought of the long drive tomorrow night, drive 100 to hotel where braedon's graduation is being held at 7 pm then home afterwards
Dr's Thursday then Saturday off to trenton, 3+ hours spend the night then homeward bound Sunday.
Always so much to do this time of years..
Drats legs are burning, you got to wonder about taking some meds or if it's better not.
Bp tonight 180/84/84
Morning all,
Raining, needed it, lot of the lawn was turning yellow, besides if it rains itself out it will be nice for the weekend..so many are not having a long weekend as we must take July 1st day of for Canada day so it's sat and sun work mon then off Tuesday..screws up for a long weekend!
What are you all up to today
I'm off to look for some bright colors in my stash and will sew the day away.
Morning ^_^
Looks to be an 'iffy' day here .. could rain, but may just remain partly cloudy with sunny breaks.
Lorna had yesterday off, well, most of it because of the lightning.
Still tussling with this 'Zoey' proposition .. the owner and fam are going camping this weekend, and, have suggested we take Zoey to see how she fits in .. we're MOST worried about the CAT !!! He is definitely THE Alpha Male in the house .. he accepted Lilly and Piper (from pups) but not too sure how this will work out ... at 20yrs old, he is a force to be reckoned with !
May go into the city today and walk the dogs at the Marina .. need to pic up fish for tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a fine day
TOODLES
~M~
I'll be in Chicago on July 26th, too. I got tickets to the Antiques Roadshow television show that's taping at McCormick Place that day. Still choosing what family heirlooms to bring for an appraisal, but we're allowed to bring 2 items per ticket.
Last day of work before my trip to Colorado. So much to finish up here. I'm not leaving until Friday, so I'll have tomorrow to load up the car, and finish up things I have to do at home.
Deb
lots flattened in the gardens, hoping the mock orange can pick itself up, almost laying on the ground!!!
Any wild roses that were on the bush, grrrr all blown off
Guess we were lucky though, they are at 2 sites confirming tornado hits yesterday..talk on the radio questioning if this is an increase in tornado activity or is there a path i.e. similar to tornado alley in USA..my area over the years has been hit 4 or 5 times, luckily no loss of life
Sorry to hear about your gardens Betty. Sure hope your place does not develop into a tornado alley!
Disappointing when you put your all into the gardens then storm hits as you all know.
LindaKay, we leave Austin hopefully by 7:30 am and likely arrive at hotel around 10 am. July 30th
Staying at riverwalk hotel and suites
Next morning because of what is planned we would leave as early as 6am July 31st
Soooo just the day but a busy day in San Antonio

Betty this horrid weather is just getting too close to comfort in your neck of the woods. Its hard to fathom 2 tornadoes touching down in your area in exactly a week. Not something we experience here like several of you do. Heck I'll take a wicked snowstorm over that anytime. Heavy rain here - my lupine is toast but somehow my tree lilies are still upright. More rain today. Right now it is just very dark out there.
I officially proclaim this the worst skeeter year in history. My goodness they are vicious, prolific and leave a nasty welt on me. I HATE the screens in my house - didn't want these windows to begin with but Warren insisted. They were the cheaper of the 2 quotes. Screens have been replaced twice meaning frame and screen. UGH!!!! They just do not fit well and I end up using white duct tape to seal the edges of the screen. Very attractive!
Hope Katie is having a safe trip and enjoying herself.
Susan, Susan, come out, come out wherever you are, please. Maybe she will have time to catch her breath on July 1 and stop in. I imagine everything is a bit overwhelming until she gets her footing again.
M that might be a good idea to have a trial visit. Are you concerned the stress might push your beloved Smokey over the bridge? I know you have been very concerned about his well being.
OK so our Betty and our Debbie see the docs on Thurs....... sending positive thoughts they will both have encouraging visits.
Thunder I meant to say how exciting for you and DH to be able to talk to all 3 of your boys. Your hearts must just be bursting knowing how well they are doing in their life journey.
Time to dodge the skeeters and possible rain drops to get a quick walk in with the pups. We haven't been far as the bugs are so bad. Just to give you an idea of how bad the skeeters are a neighbour who lives about 1/4 mi from me came to drop off a cheque for the lane last night and drove. His kids who hike out the lane to meet the school bus are being driven out and wait in the truck for the bus. These are hardy folks who love the outdoors so I know the bugs are awful when they resort to driving.Even during the flooding they would never accept a ride - they are a perfect family to live on our lane - they embrace the outdoors with all their being.
I've bought 1 of those personal OFF repellants so lets see how it performs this morning.
D
Dianne what time is your appointment today?
Izzy and I are with you.
Put my new contacts in ...now fighting headache...but I can see.
Dianne if they confirm last nights 2 it will mean 4 in total in one week..tottenham was one, although they say f1 it's still considered, Angus was an f3
Skitters are indeed out in the masses.
Deb, going to the roadshow would indeed be fun, always nice to know what ones valuables are worth, you might have to up your insurance..are you anxious to get on the road? Hmmm did you tell me if someone was going with you or not?
Drats Debbie, can't win for losing
I have been in and out since coming home from walking the dogs .. same thing, skeeters .. but, DH has one of those handheld tennis racquwts that are electrix, and he sits and bats away at them .. seems after he does in a ffew the majority of the bugs leave ..
Betty, Lorna's brother lives in Tottenham, my nephew is in Aliston .. haven't heard of any dangerous situations there as of yet, hope NOT to hear !!
Her Aunt June in SOuthhampton isn't too well, so, that's been the big worry for a bit ..
Dianne .. those OFF 'fans' that clip to your clothing DO work .. ^_^
Lorna uses them at the cemetery ..
Well .. Zoey is coming for a weekend visit tomorrow .. I spent 40 minutes on the phone trying to calm down Angie (her owner), she is so distraught .. poor girl feels awful about giving up her fur baby .. I'm actually worried about her getting herself home tomorrow !!
Sure do hope this all turns out well .. kinda nervous .. what if Zoey can't cope without Angie and the 2 kids, of, gaed forbid, Smokey takes a swipe at her and scares the bejeebers out of her ..
I do worry about stressing Smokey, but, he's a fiesty old bug*er LoL
Helping DH make pickled eggs,, off I go to 'crack up'
LoL
~M~
~M~ one thing.....with Zoey going to you, they can come visit now and then. AND I think with the other dogs, she will be occupied....and have fun. Cats can go up high....and watch the others from below....I think Smokey will be vocal....but all will go ok.
Worse case....I will come get her. Ohhhh I wish!!!
Mosquitos are bad here, too. I have tomorrow off work, need to mow lawn, do laundry, etc before I leave. Hoping to hit the highway early Friday. Just me and Tyler on this trip, it'll be hard getting out the door with just one. The dogs all love car rides. My daughter and my neighbor will check on the others and let them out a couple of times a day. I'm really lucky to have someone nearby to keep an eye on the homefront for me!
Have a safe trip!
Evening or is it mornimg
Just got back from the city, tired so will tell you all about it in the a.m.
Heartwarming to see Braedon do so well, received several awards and passed with honors!
Hello All ;
Heartwarming to see my name in your posts....
Shop still faltering but I'm determined.
Back to reading again and reading "The Law Of Attraction"
I really "felt" this way last year and need to "Feel" this way again.
WE are day by day. Still behind on rent. regarding the "Full time job" I actually think I like my new boss !
Beginning to advertise TV, Facebook and a mail out.
HUGS to all. Yes Skeeters are all out this year. Betty your flowers are the hit of the shop. Can keep them blooming enough .... they are perfect.
Dianne... HUGS missing our walks. May try meditating.
Hugs to all. Feeling like I can get re-energized now just have to get Hubs the same.
Make it to 1 year and then we'll see our path.
Mary
Well that was a fun evening. After dinner hubby went down to fish for a bit. Before long he was in the door saying I need you to help me. Turned around and there he was with a lure hanging and a hook deeply imbedded in his thumb. He had caught a nice bass and while releasing it it flipped and caught him. I have no strength in my hands so I told him to just sit still while I went to get the neighbor. Back in 5 and he had cut the hook off the lure. That's it I told him we're going to Urgent Care.
Turns out the hook had chipped the bone and now he had to have a bit of surgery. They were concerned that infection would get into the bone. 3 hours, two shots and a stitch later we are back home.
Morning,
Mary, you are always in our thoughts and prayers
Looks as though you are forging forth with a plan to spend time on you, both physically and mentally, step in the right direction. To have a boss you like makes all the difference ! Wanting to go in and face the challenges of the day..it's a difficult trade you are in. Meant to ask how lance was taking the day to day trials of running the business. Here is hoping things improve..as for the flowers, Lordy how much seed did you plant to have so many..mine are just starting to bloom, I too have enough to decorate a restaurant..odd, I rarely cut flowers for the house, should do.
Karen, drats, I thought when he came and needed help you were going to tell us he caught the catch of the century..wow, how on earth did he ever get it so embedded? How is it this mornimg?
Need coffee and cereal
Morning everyone ..
GREAT to see you posting Mary .. interesting title on the book.
Good luck with the advertising ^_^
Yoikes, Karen ,, sounds like hubby is gonna have a BIG 'owie' for a few days .. those hooks are always usually considered 'buggy' specially if they've been through fish flesh.
Well .. today is the day we become a THREE Westie one cat home .. going for coffee with my BFF at qo, she always is able to calm me down .. Angie (Zoeys owner) is to arrive around 1230 .. and I KNOW it is going to be UBER emotional .. I am already feeling a lump in my throat.
Just SO want everything to go well .. no scraps ...
Tomorow I'm on my own with the 3 of them ..
Takes care all!!
~M~
Mary we all have faith that your shop is going to make it. You and Lance sure do work hard at it and that is what it takes.
Sorry to read about DH Karen. I too, thought you were going to say he had caught a huge fish. Well I guess he did!!!! LOL Hope he will be okay and no infection....
Going for a haircut first thing this morning and then hibernate. Humidity is going to be very high today and then gets blown out by the winds tonight.
OUCH! Karen. I know that hurts. I did that one time with my EX, and I know how much that hurts. Ex did the same thing, cut the lure from the hook, and we had to push it through the rest of the skin on my finger to get it out! Tetanus shots hurt!
Mary, hang in there. We are all praying for you and your shop to be a big success!
Yeah he's hurting pretty good this morning. We couldn't push it through because of a tendon there. Helpful neighbor volunteered to cut it out with a razor blade. Biggie though was the chipped bone, reason they had to cut it completely open, they had to flush well. Dr. said he could see the chipped area.
"M" I'm sure that will the love and affection Zoey will fit right in..pictures please. Smilling as I'm thinking your dh wasn't all that enthused, watch if zoey doesn't become his dog! Lol
Barb, high humidity here as well today, always feel the old bones aching, can't imagine what it would be like for someone with breathing difficulties.
Any news on your dad LindaKay? What is the weather like in your neck of the woods?
So now I will chat a tad
Weather wasn't the best in Toronto last night, storm was hitting just as we entered Sheraton Hotel, likely you Canadian gals will have heard about all the flooding/damage near the DVP, I wasn't too far from there..
Wondered why this event was in a hotel, soon found out. There were 264 graduating then add in faculty, guest speakers and family and there were thousands..4 hr ceremony, fanny was getting sore.
It took me aback to learn what this catholic hight school has done, their cool unity involvement, pride in family and friends..
Kids don't seem to talk much about what goes on in their lives and we miss so much.
This school for the 2014 school year through their rally for life campaign raised over $150,000
In the 4 years this group attended school they were just shy of 1/2 million dollars
Imagine
In their talks they talked about a student who played ball with them, fell, all thought he broke his leg only to find out a short while after he would not be with them, cancer!
Then on to a few more students battling cancer, opened their eyes as to community responsibilities and needs
They talked about the tragedy of losing friends through suicide, accident and fire
And how they have grown from the tragedies..
They donated $10k to the Dunsmuir Dream Foundation in memory of their classmates Cam and Rob. Their mom,dad died alongside of them..brother Dave who was away at university was the only member of the family spared.
They talked about this chapter of their lives being written, the end of their book having them seen as super heroes, now it's up to them to finish chapters leading to this ending
I was so impressed.
Braedon received
Ontario Scholarship Award
Honour Roll
Arts (I wasn't told he did lead in many of the plays and played trumpet in several school bands
A Sport Achievement for Hockey
Hurts like the dickens I bet
Today Jeff and Julie are driving Braedon the Algonquin Park for his orientation re camp counsellor, 4 hour drive each way for them. Jeff and Julie will bike for 6 hrs while they wait for Braedon. Sunday Lisa will drive Braedon and Caleb back to Algonquin Park for the summer.
"M" they will fly from Algonquin to Thunder Bay, your neighborhood for their 52 day trekking the wilds..helicopters will drop off their food and THEY. Are excited about this.
When they return end of July Braedon will have 5 days before flying to British Columbia, on his own to start University. Says he is up for it, not sure Lisa is though. She is worried he will love it there, find a sweetheart, marry, never return to Ontario..could happen I guess. Jeff, he's a different sort,he thinks it's a true adventure for him
Julie couldn't come with us as her son Tristan graduated as well last night..long night for everyone, but a proud night!
Grrrrr
Told aunt Muriel and mom to meet me at my house at 7am Saturday..just found out aunt Muriel needs a dog sitter, not comfortable with just anyone so guess who has to drive an extra 100 miles each way to drop off and pick up her dog???
Got to tell you I sure can get into messes just trying to help.
Suzanne just called, police officer on motorcycle rammed into overpass on 400 and 11 at the crossroads
Sure can understand it as there are construction pillars every 10 ft and lane closure do to construction
What a day and it's only 10am
WOW! Betty, those kids have learned a lot of life's valuable lessons for sure! Bet their families are very proud of them!
Dad went back to the nursing home yesterday afternoon. He is still complaining of lower tummy ache, but they did all kinds of test and can't figure out what it could be. So they are keeping a close eye on him. My Sis was told even if they found something internally they would not operate, as he is to frail. Dad is 80, and with all his medical problems, we are lucky he is s till with us!
Sorry you have to drive the extra miles. Are you taking your Mom state side?
When is your appointment today Betty?
Sorry about the policeman. Was he killed?
Hugs, Mary. Keep the faith!!
Betty, sounds like you had a great time. Always makes us feel so proud when our grands do well. Hope Braedon enjoys his summer and then college. Time to really grow up now.
Sad to hear about the policeman.
LK, I'm sorry your Dad still has a tummy ache, but glad he was well enough to get out of the hospital.
My goal today is to get the rest of my plants in the ground. Sue brought me 3 nice size clumps of hostas I didn't have and I'm having a terrible time deciding where to put them! I'm running out of space! I'd like to expand the shade garden, but since that would involve bringing in new soil to put on top of the tree roots that are everywhere, I'm pretty sure I can't talk Bill into that!
Good luck today, M with the dog situation. I know it will be so hard on her and thereby, you, too.
Got a ton of algae out of the pond yesterday. Found out I have at least 9 baby koi. They're always fun to watch grow up. Trying to decide if I want to keep them all or take a few out. They're easiest to catch right now when they're only an inch long!!
Gosh, Barb that was scary! Hope he doesn't get any complications from the hook!
Wasn't my DH Joyce - it was Karen's!!!!!!!
What do you do with the fish you don't want?
well i m officially divorced. went to court yesterday. ok judge has to sign papers then file but its official. Tom was with me. Funny in my county i had to bring a witness ? so the judge asked him a few questions.... i really wanted to laugh at some of the questions.
but any who.....
Made sweet sour pork
kids, tom and i went to the park after ice cream. hit some baseballs. kids had fun.....
Tom made breakfast and cleaned !!! boy he sure is a keeper. LOL
Im sorry to hear of the policeman. sending prayers
Cookie i found plenty more to pass on LOL . i think i m running our of room also.
well i better be going. the garden is calling my name .
Tom is watching the world cup thingy of soccer. Germany is winning so far . not much time left on the game. looks like USA won't recover. Oh USa will still go to the next round. oh boy they just missed a goal !!! USa will play Belgium.
ttyl
Afternoon
Hungry for turkey/stuffing /turnip sooo cooking up a storm..might even go see if Foodland has a pumpkin pie..mouth watering
Decided as I hadn't eaten yet today I'd make a tomato sandwhich, yikes, bread has blue mold so there went that idea..finally decided to micro a nice big potato and eat it, don't want to ruin my supper.
Congrats Sue on nyour new found freedom, yippee for sure..you will not have to move out of your beautiful home will you? I couldn't understand why if USA lost at soccer today how the move on but guess its their other wins that helped them.
Joyce, surely you can't be thinking of more gardens. Lol
Thought of you today, they were saying that today at Casa Loma Castle 100 gay/lesbians , it's Pride Week in Toronto and hundreds of thousands are here for Pride Week..anyway, was thinking of when we went to the Castle there was a wedding going on remember, brought back some fun memories.
"M" is the crying over, are you now laughing at the antics of your furries adjusting with Zoey?
Dianne your doctor appointment was yesterday, any news ?
Got back from my appointment, Lordy I was annoyed
Doctor's office closes today for 10 days so he squeezed me in on his lunch..he looked at my numbers and said they were high, but seemed to be coming down..told him about the reactions I was having, when I spoke about my eyesight he said perhaps it was time to see an eye doctor..ok
Looked at my feet, yep, swollen, I'm flushed, hmmm could be the meds, bad reaction to them so he gives me a prescription for new meds..can take them both at same time, early morning preferred.
Go to pharmacy and it's 1/2 hr wait, ok, bought my fixings for turkey. Get to the counter (love this paying couple $$ for meds due to being 65), pharmacy goes through ritual re when to take, possible side effects etc. hmm if I only take one water pill why did doctor tell me to take 2 together? Back upstairs to doctor, he is with patient, I wait, ask about wether or not I needed bp meds..well just continue taking&$"' with water pills, but doc I don't have any other pills, yes you do he says, you've been taking them with the pills I've just taken you off
NO you upped that prescription to double dose but I had no ther...says you must have, you needed 2
Well I didn't..gave me heck, gave me another prescription as apparently I misunderstood his direction, well if I misunderstood should I not have a 2nd bp pill here somewhere
So hopefully these 2 new meds will do trick..Lordy, no wonder I have to be dying before I go to the doctors. Lol
Debbie, can you log in so we know how your appointment went?
LindaKay, am sure your dad will rest better being home..Lordy 80 doesn't seem that old from where I sit..he has had a lot to deal with though.
Sorry you go the run around with the Dr. Betty. I sure hope your new meds help!
I do as well
Guess I'm tired from last night's ride and excitement, although I just had a nap I'm tempted to take another
I worked on a tote for a dg friend, said she want Ed right colors and bright they are..changed design to strips vs blocks and rather like it..those skitters will see her coming for sure (grin)7
Omg fell asleep watching Castle and now Star Trek next generation is on and whoopie Goldberg is in it, hmmm off the see her in scifi
I can hear a few neighbors out cutting their grass or rocks, here some major clang'ing going on. Lol, do I rest or go out and cut grass?
I hope your resting and letting your meds work for you!
Just lazing around, needed to take a quick run to Foodland..entire community in chat of all the events/bands playing this weekend for Canada Day, here I'm driving to a wedding hours away.
