Get as much rest as you can "M" - I'm glad the visit is going so well. Lorna's folks sound like really nice people and I know it is hard to try to do all you want to do in a short span of time and with limited abilities. I so admire both you and Lorna in that department.

Busy day here finishing up with shopping for party Saturday and trying to find a new outfit for me. It has been so long since I bought anything that I don't even remember where I liked to shop!!!! Now that is bad!

Betty - have you seen Ann and the babies lately? How are they doing?

I'm not a big fan of shopping. I love looking but hate to have to go get something for myself. Most of what I have I found by accident while on another mission.

Karen, we must shop alike. I so much rather get something for someone else so usually I come home empty handed for me.

Spend most of the day yesterday working in the yard so today is "play day". Kim and I are taking the GDs to the movies and lunch. Play day for sure.

Wouldn't it be nice Barb if one could walk into a store and on 1st rack,1st aisle would be hanging the perfect outfit..I'm not a clothes shopper either, like being well dressed but not the shopping part.

"M'" Lorna's parents sure do get the royal treatment when visitin, it's no wonder they want to come back and not just to see their daughter.

If I have to shop for me, I go alone as I end up angry and frustrated and tired. Just as apt to choose something I end up taking back when I get a good second look at it. Usually try to decide if I have something already that will make do.

Right now telling the kids to go tidy up their areas upstairs. Told them we cannot wait til the last minute to get things ready for people coming through on Sunday. Of course you know the message isn't really for them but for lazy GDIL. If I have to tell her directly, she complains I'm picking on her. She was sitting with the rest of the kids watching tots show on TV. Just don't understand why nearly 30 year olds have to be told to clean up their own messes.

Just saw a saying on FB told my hubby we have to keep repeating.." Not my circus, Not my monkeys". Just seems to fit.

OK that's my rant for today...or at least this morning.

Well, we all know about the best laid plans of mice and men right??? Sure happened to me this morning. As I was trying to open a window, my hand slipped, I lost my balance and my thumb caught on a ledge that runs under the window. At first I thought I had ripped the nail into the quick but when I finally stopped swearing long enough to unwrap the paper towel I had wrapped around it, I found that the nail was not torn. It had ripped away from the nail bed!!!! I have not been out to the store to get my shopping done. Waiting for Norm to come home so he can go with me for assistance. Some days the word klutz just doesn't cover it! Now I'm hoping he won't say I have to go to Dr. I did pour hydrogen peroxide over it and will soak it again tonight (can you say OUCH) and I'm hoping that will be enough. Trying hard to keep the hand elevated so it doesn't throb so much.......

Oh Barb, shaking my head..drats not what you needed at all.am sure norm will be beside himself. Nobody in the building that could check it out to you??? Might mean a trip to emerge.

OUCH! I would go to urgent care, sounds like they may have to remove the nail, so it can heal! It will be sore for awhile.




Please say a prayer for my Dad. My Sister is meeting him at the ER, because the nursing home called her and said he is having problems breathing, and an upset tummy. They are going to check him out, to make sure it is not heart problems. That's all I know for now. Thanks!

Update on Dad. Not much, but something!
They are keeping him overnight due to chest pain. His oxygen levels are low, chest x-ray is good, EKG is good. That's all I know for now!

We will keep praying LindaKay. It's good news they are keeping him in so they can monitor..best be safe!

Barb did norm make it home yet?

Any update and/or pictures of the twins?

Ann was to have sent me photo's, think today was the specialist appointment so will wait untill tomorrow so will wait until tomorrow to call her.

When I called the receptionist and gave her my bp readings from this week and told her my feet were quite swollen and blurred vision spoke with doc and called me back.

As Thursday is their last day before their office is closed for a few weeks vacation the doc overbooked the doc said to book me in.

Kathy just called. She just got home from the hospital. She is in a lot of pain, and was told her diverticulitis has flared up! She is on pain meds, and I hope she gets some rest!

I am going to be just fine. A nurse that lives upstairs came down and checked it out for me this afternoon. We soaked and then washed again with peroxide. She said that she is pretty sure there won't be any infection and she told me to keep it bound fairly tightly with bandaids so the skin will adhere to the nail as it heals. I'm to soak it twice a day for the next few and if I do have any problems to go to emergency care. I'm sure it will be okay. Is going to be sore for a while.

Norm took me shopping for the things for the party so I'm all set with that. I found a lime green top! Can't you just see it!!!! I also picked up a couple of books to read since I won't be going near the sewing machine for a few days anyway..... That should keep me out of trouble.

YEEEOOOWWWCH Barb .. sorry to hear about you lil boo boo, and, I can imagine how painful it is ..
The nurse gave you sound advice .. salt water soaks are best ..

Daybreak, in my own little work this mornimg, trees are are like walls of a fortress, when outback its just me and my gardens..everyday something new has bloomed and welcomes me to walk and look in awe of what spring has brought.

Went to bed just after my post last night. 6:09 I believe, more due to glazed eyes than anything else but quickly fell asleep. Woke up startled. I had a dream that I went to visit Mae, Darlene's mom and she told me how much she missed her friends at the seniors group at Baxter Hall where I worked, remembered the trips to Florida and new Orleans and bahama's I had taken them on, asked me to take her to the hall wich I did. Full house, girls had set up lawn bowling,mquilting frame, some were in the ceramic room, all excited to see her..she stood smiling leaning on a 5' wooden Santa, gave a laugh and a nod and over went the Santa, she had passed away. Her family was not happy with me!! My forehead was beading with water this morning so up I got trying to settle down..some dreams seem so real!

With coffee in hand think I will go downstairs and sew for a it.

Hi everyone!!! Miss y'all!! I just realized that we're approaching 4th of July here! This job has me living life waaaaay too fast!!!

Betty did you, or are you, going on a trip this year?

I'll be back on this evening. I'm in a hotel in Kansas City, MO getting ready to go see 15 car dealerships & probably 5-8 campgrounds, then home. I was in Branson yesterday and thought of last year, lol that was great!

We've had some nice rain the last couple of days and the gardens are loving it! Unfortunately, so are the weeds!!

Hi Everyone,

It took two more trips to the bank this morning but I am now insured to drive my properly registered and licensed van in both Mexico and the USA!!!!!!!!! I've also got a new friend in the young man who works in the bank who has helped me through this process.

While walking to Saul's store from the bank I ran into a Meican woman who is a friend and we had a nice chat. Had tacos at the stand of other friends. Went to Saul's and, while shopping, a Mexican man told me he had fresh fish for sale at his house. Bought 3 kilos of halibut for about $20, probably a fortune for him but reasonable for me. Lewft to hitchhike home and got picked up by an american who lives near me. His name is Vinnie and I'd never met him or his wife so we had anice chat. Lots of comparison on what trees we each have growing. All in all, a very packed few hours.

Maria and I are going to the beach later. We'll take as many dogs as are willing to get into the car.

I am going to soak in my outdoor bathtub.

Debbie, my heart goes out to you. I do not understand the cruelty of some people.

Debbie so sorry, I know the pain when children are used as weapons. It's a horrid thing for parents to do. Why can't they realize that every child needs as many to love it as possible.

having suffered through the 'kid thing' with my GROWN son (and ONLY child) i agree with your letting it go .. i did, and, eventually we reunited and are now 'tight' .. albeit i still am not thrilled with my DinL.
Please know I am thinking of you .. re Izzy as well .. our Smokey is nearing his journeys end too .. everyday we wonder if THIS will be the day ..
