(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Get to a safe place Betty.

Your right, fast foods are full of salt!

Victoria Harbour, ON

seems to be blowing over..have a 45 minute drive home, of all days to have driven to meet the girls for steak dinner.

Paul just said he heard that 4 golfers were hit by lightning..one way said to have died on the course but another golfer revived him..not sure how the other 3 are.

Betty, you might be better off, stopping and waiting out the storm. You don't need to get caught in it!

I saw this on Facebook and had to share!

Just had the wicked storm go through here. Took a bit over an hour, but sure did some damage.
Many without power and some trees and limbs down throughout the town.

After the storm the sky turned a bright yellow....that was really scary looking!!!

Glad it has passed.

YES, watch the fast food, pepperoni, sausages, bacon,, cold cuts, soda, all which have salt in them....as do some of the condiments. Trust me, I know is no fun....what I would give to eat a pound of bacon!!!

So tired, think I am heading to bed at 9:30ish.

Debbie

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I thought that was Betty and company, too!

Glad you're all safe.

Nothing but sun here today and a nice breeze. Hot though... 20 people toured the gardens. Glad that's over!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

could be another stormy day..tornado did hit down in Angus, not far from Barrie..will have to listen to more details on the news this morning..

Joyce, yep you've seen us in action, 4 ladies, shopping and bags on last trip when we dropped in..lucky the car can pull itself. wish I was rich, want a little rv!!!!
Were you expecting a lot more than 20 Joyce to do the tour? Bet they were in awe of the beauty, so much work but worth it when all is in bloom.

was just saying yesterday, likely my gardens will be in their prime late July and I will be gone.
which reminds me, have to find someone to come and stay here, do miss Cathy, she always volunteered.

Debbie, that was some doozer of a storm, glad you are safe and now to hear how it went for Dianne. Did you get a good night's rest?

Cinnamon roll would taste great!.
I am thrilled this morning. Norm got a report from the doctor that he does NOT have celiac disease. We are still waiting on the lactose intolerance one. We tried some of the gluten free food and I can't say I cared for it at all. I'm so glad that is not in our future. So now we wait for the results of an ultrasound of his abdomen to see what is causing all his problems....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful pictures! Love the candy on the totes!
I'll take a roll please?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Barb that is good news!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Bad weather your way for sure Betty, Lorna's parents called their neighbour, all is well there.
A friend in Kingston had a close call with a lightening strike .. and .. now.. Western Canada is becomg soaked with rain with talk of flooding there almost a year after Calgary's big flood.
We're sunny and 75F today, and, I'll take the bugs !!

OHMIGOSH the wedding pics are lovely .. the blue is very pretty .. the bride is beautiful and the little ones are precious.

Off to my brothers today, he lives on Lake Superior, Lorna is off and will so enjoy the day with her parents .. she planted 12 flats of flowers on her own yesterday, the cemetery is coming back to its former beauty .. she is doin them proud ^_^
So many people stop to welcome her back .. she was sorely missed.

Barb, good to hear Norm hasn't got Celiacs .. and, I hope the results from the other tests are all OK .. does he still have his gall bladder ?

Best get a move on here ..always something to do ..

passing the cinnamon rolls, enough for you to take a 2nd.

as for the totes, lady I'm sending to likes chocolates, can't sent real from Canada to USA soooo will have to do.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I think we'll be a rainy day here too, I have sewing to do so will try to get some done. With 3 greats here, it's not easy at times, nor do I want to keep myself shut away. Have to keep door closed as Amelia is quick to get into sewing stuff. DGS and I took them to the park at the bay to play on the splash pad for a while, then walked over to the beach which is very nice, crystal clear water and white sand. Amelia wasn't having any of the beach part so we went back to the splash pad.

Barb sure hope Drs. get to the bottom of Norms problems, certainly not fun having a medical mystery. Norm might give organic milk products a try, for some it's not the lactose but the additives to the cows food that upset their system. My aunt had problems with dairy all her life until she switched to organic.

Love the chocolate totes Betty, I'm sure they will be well received. Amazed at all the boat repairs you do. I used to be able to do that sort of thing but hands just won't allow it any more. I'm doing good to manage the occasional upholstery repair, usually need hubby to do the muscle part.

mulege, Mexico

Good morning all.

the papers are done and I just wrote to the insurance people, The attorney who did the papers wants to sell us insurance but Maria gave me a company that can sell us both Mexican and US insurance, probably for less than the attorney. Tony is concerned that he NOT be held responsible should I have an accident. I am tired of jumping through hoops to get this done. We are as close to snapping at each other as we ever get. I wrote to the insurance and asked them to respond in both English and Spanish so Tony will be reassured.

Last night I tried to finish a pillow for a cat bed. I'd cut out the fabric yesterday morning; then could not fins it last night. I finally cut another one and got the pillow done. Can't find the wire to finish the trim.

I'm ready to bite nails. This crap has gone on too long.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, I'm sure you are at the end of your rope..know Tony wants to help you but you are both right, he has to be safeguarded. Deep breath
Glad to see you sewing, bet the furries will love their new pillow

Karen, don't know how you do it with occupying all those little ones and still have time for yourself

Barb, bet you and Norm are anxious to find out what is causing his discomfort , nerve racking for sure.

"M" nice that Lorna will get to spend some one on one time with her parents..yep they sure missed a humdinger of a storm. Enjoy your day with your brother!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well two of them are older Sammi is 8 and Payton 11 so they pretty much occupy themselves with the lake. They are also good about playing with Amelia and she does take a nice nap. Biggest problem is still DGS's wife, her laziness is so irksome. I have to tell her to clean up her daughters mess before she'll get off her duff and do something. I have already warned her that we have a showing on Sun morning. She will be at work so I say every day she will have to clean up her mess upstairs on Sat., and I will be checking. So who's the real child here?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nothing worse than an lazy adult! Sure hope you have a buyer from the showing of your home!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh LK you have no idea. If we say anything, she complains we are picking on her. DGS thinks she's just perfect even though she gets him to wait on her hand and foot. I have decided it's either my sanity or her crying. I can handle the crying.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thought you were going to say

'my way or the highway'

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is your house, and they need to respect your rules and wishes! I agree with Betty. Time to set them all down and have a long chat!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Finally got the backyard, such as it is, cut; azaleas trimmed; huge pile of limbs stacked and now I am tired!!! Going to put the second coat of paint of a section of bead board in the dungeon than a nice warm shower to relax. Kim's night to prepare dinner!! Life is looking up.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like your making progress on your place Marion!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty! Beautiful, yummy looking totes! Hope one day, one with my name comes along!! ;)

Lunch out with some G/Fs today. Tried a new place a little over half an hour away. OMG was the food to die for!! Their chef is from Holland, cutie eye candy, too. Two of the girls had BLTs and there was a half pound of bacon on each sammy!

I had a cordon bleu sammy and loaded baked potato. Yum! Bertie had breaded white fish, baked potato and cole slaw. The other girl had half a fish sammy and cup of vegetable beef soup. Desserts were, homemade peach pie, red velvet cake, cream brûlée and I had chocolate ganach. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven! The couple that just opened this restaurant, the lady is in my regional garden club. She wasn't there today, but I will be letting her know how good it was!!

Now I'm resting, waiting for beer 30!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my! That sounds yummy! Bet you will be going back there again!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh, meant to say that 20 was a very good turn out for G/C here yesterday. We usually have about 14 or 15. Only a couple girls missing yesterday, and one was having surgery, so really good excuse!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh, LK! You've got that right for sure!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Joyce, my mouth is watering and I just ate...seems we are both up for trying new restaurants..peach pie, i would love a piece!

yesterday we did Hiustons, had a steak meal, just melted in your muth..almost didn't try it, bad reviews..teaches you to try restaurant and not take someone's review to heart.

You never know about the bag, for me they are a mindless project, dne in no time so I keep making them.

You must be beyond thrilled with how much you are accomplishing, pretty son you can be a lady of leisure and just enjoy .

mulege, Mexico

Spent two very hot humid and wasted hours in town. Will spare you the details of how nothing was accomplished re: the car. However, I had lunch at a taco stand where I've not eaten in months due to living way out of town. The owners were happy to see me, and I them. Several years ago I gave them some drargonfruit plants and it solidified my standing with them as a friend.

Shopped at my friend Saul's store and got a ride home from a friend of his son.

Think I am cooled down enough to rest a bit.

Tony does understand that I understand his concerns and we are on the same page again. He does seem kind of stressed. All I can do is assure him that my trip will happen only when all is in order and we are not stressed out. The frustration is hard on both of us. It was compounded by the lawyer suggesting that if we didn't go with the insurance he was trying to sell us Tony would be at risk. The insurance I got protects Tony, too, and cost half of what the lawyer wanted. AAARRRGGGG. Tony said he's OK with it.

Karen's GDIL doesn't know how lucky she is not to be here. I'd bite her head off. And spit it out.

Later.

hugs, katie

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

If that were only the truth....I still need another yard of dark mulch, have three very weedy areas and looks like I'm going to have to start watering if the rain keeps missing us. Sue came last night for a quick visit and brought 3 more hostas I didn't have, so now must get them in the ground as well.

I'm in the hosta swap here and my buddy has a LOT of hostas. It was really hard coming up with a few not on her list. So now those must be dug and sent on their way. You know what they say, NO rest for the wicked! 😈

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Dumb me, went out to take some garbage to the trash bin and ended up working another 2 hours outside. My body will let me know about all this tomorrow, I am sure.

Oh well, I can see progress being made so I don't mind a few aches and pains.

Tomorrow is granddaughter day. Kim and I are taking them to the movies then out for lunch. Our day of fun and relaxation...not to mention a few laughs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Enjoy your day with the girls Marion! Hope your not too sore in the morning!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Have read all the posts, but, am just too pooped to press the keyboard keys.
Have sammies to make before I can go to bed, and some laundry to put away ..
It's a good visit, but, SMOKEY getting us up at 5:30am and being busy most of the day is starting to wear me out !

Day here in the country tomorrow, with a ham supper on the menu ..
