So glad you got to talk to all the kids!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!
Whew were back, Had a wonderful yet exhaustingly busy weekend!

Went to the Cottage to finalize rental preparation. Its done, it's beautiful, lol I wanna rent the place and do nothing for a week, lol...Was nice, the kids came up Sat afternoon. We went to dinner at a local place and wow it was simply delicious. We were also Celebrating Sabrina's 21st Birthday, was on the 11th.
We did Celebrate on the 11th too. Julia happened to be off from work. So we went to this Bar/Lounge.
DH called ahead for reservation. It was really cool. After Dinner Jake and Emily left and we stayed for a few drinks. They had an open mike for anyone with an instrument. Had a feature Band to start off. The guitarist Serenaded Sabrina right at our table, very neat. While DH and I stay and visited, Breenie and Juia went off to another place for a girlie drink...LOL, I think she just wanted to be at a bar without the parents.

LOL, I have a mini break!! Jake and Emily have gone off to TN. They are going to camp in the Smokies. I'm a little nervous, but geeze got to let them go, well at least the are a little closer! They originally wanted to drive to Montana, yikes. OMG, OMG speaking of traveling, We are going home, Next friday, traveling to the Rez...woohooo, cant wait to see my brothers and family!!! Well we might be bringing my Brother Johnny home to help with this big job. (he's not working right now.) And while we talking of traveling, guess who went on her first vacation? lol, We took birdie along. On the way there, she only peeped a couple times. She didn't know what to think...Got shoved into a small travel cage, Then into a bigger cage, finally got used to it and then it was time to get back into small cage, on the way back she sat right in front, never made a peep, until we pulled into the drive! ROFLOL, She announce to the neighborhood she was home!

Oh, Now the nice thing is, no more back and forth to the house for a while! Well hopefully I won't have to cover for the our cleaning lady. All of July is Booked! Yippeee.
Well anyhow, I hope all of the Dads had a wonderful Fathers Day!!

Linda, So glad you had a nice Birthday!! OH MY GOSH and How Cool was that Full Moon on Friday the 13!!! It was just Gorgeous, sure hope you all got a glimpse of it, its not going to happen again for quite some time.

LOL, although, There was no missing it's beauty...no justice in my picture.

Barbara, So glad you went to Brandons graduation!! Awe, how nice to give Carnations to all.
Wow, what a grand scholarship, Congratulations Brandon...

Someone at the door..

sneezig away, no wonder we've all got colds.

"M" I rarely go on Facebook, half the time I forget my password, start another and so on and on and on..don't blame you for not accepting 'friends'

Sitting here with sweater on, turning up the heat brrrr can't believe they say it will reach the high 70's, shaking my head at that weather prediction.

Thunder, how wonderful you got to talk to all the boys, your hubby must have been thrilled.

LindaKay, you all rested up after your trip?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Judy, sounds like your busy as usual!
Todd and I were sitting at the beach waiting for the moon come up. It was pretty cloudy, and we finally saw the moon later in the night!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

All rested up Betty! Funny how driving will make you so tired!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Give my birthday wishes to Sabrina Judy..omg, she was but a young teen when we first started to gab on DG and look, a young woman now.

Glad you had a nice vacation (work week) lol up at the cottage..was the cleaning lady you had last year still able to do it this year..would make life much simpler for you in the renting department.

Is Steve's big job downtown??? ohhh he might be downtown for me to give a hug to late July..
am sure he'd appreciate your brother coming to help.

Is Emily Jake's girlfriend Judy? hard letting them go right? but like all of us we must!!!!

Ahhh Birdie's first trip, am sure you'll not get away alone again, birdie will be chirping 'take me, take me.'

Victoria Harbour, ON

Full moon was breathtaking here, had a sundog though which means bad weather, guess the storm that came through this a.m. was part of it.

Driving does make you tired..think our longest one stretch driving on our Roadtrip is 9hrs so as only 3 of us drive means 3hr stints..4 or 5 of the days we only drive 3 hrs so that's not too bad

was it a 7hr. drive to Padre Island for you..am trying to remember when I went to South Padre Island from Galveston, seemed to take better part of a day, maybe be cause we stopped quite a bit

Glenview, IL

I am so glad you got to see it!!
It was moving inand out of clouds here too.
I thought it was what grabbed my attention. The color in and out was fabulous.

Shall I tell you a story of the day? My first full moon siting?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Waiting for your story Judy

It took us 5 & 1/2 hours from Del Rio. From San Antonio it is about 3 hours

Victoria Harbour, ON

so wish we had extra time LindaKay, I would have surprised them with going to Matamore (?) and yes I'd go over even now for a few hours..call be brave or stupid and know they would as well.
not too far then for you to drive

Judy, waiting for the short story, need a laugh

Glenview, IL

I was 8.50 years old back in the 70's and it was the first of many many firsts, I would remember with absolute clarity for the rest of my life.

I was living with The P family. All the holidays were spent with family. We were pretty excited as it was time for a family picni, it was also the time I was meeting the whole family.

That morning, we took a walk to Harlem Ave. We lived on the South side of Chicago within walking distance to the Library, we would then go to picup some food stuff for the picnic later in the afternoon. While walking to the Library, I was walking up the street backwards while blabbering away. Momma P warned me to watch where I was going. , Iwhirled around smack, head on into street pole. The impact was so hard the pole reverberated!
As I lay on the sidewalk holding my face, Momma P looking at in shocked horror. We ended up going to store, got whay we needed ad I walked with a bag of frozen whatever on my face.

So off we went to the picnice several hours later.
Everything about this picnic was hugr!!
We gathered at Marqutte park. It is just a gorgeous park. They have beautiful gardens and trees... paths, the first Polish words I learmed yassesmaria! While had to recount my collision several more times. We had a wonderful day. Tons of food and pop! The Grandama was a stunning women for being an old person. I admired her beauty from the beginnig. Anyway as t began getting to be dusk we all were busy getting things packed...all of yhe sudden right in front of my eyes
This humungous ball of red blazing the horizon.
I wanted to reach out an touch that moon, I wished I could and maybe that moon would take away the pain in my face for which my left eye was swollen and and so black and blue ot almost matched that moon, My moon, and that woulf be when I start watching thr moon, in 42 Years, I seen many beautiful moons, but not one that is si spectacular, that I wished I could duplicate.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Wonderful story Judy!!! So worth waiting for that's for sure......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, leave it to you girl not to be paying attention to where you were walking, so engrossed in everything else! Love the story, it's amazing how these little memories from the past surface and make seeing much the same more endearing.

Judy can you ask Steve for me, few of my visits Chicago had a Magnificent Mile theme, remember the clothing art, then of course Kenny and Steve's favorite the 26' -40,000 lb. state of Marilyn Monroe...is there a theme for this year?

Well Barb, you didn't tell us what you were able to find for Norm for Father's Day, know you were on the hunt..can you share?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Judy, that is some story! Sorry about your black and blue eye!

mulege, Mexico

Great story, Judy. It further reminds me of how one can be distracted from pain.

That's what I'm working on. Tony finished the rerouting of the telephone line so I can move the puter to the back bedroom. I will also move the TV there. Then I can do craft work or puter stuff or whatever in one room which has A/C. It will be crowded but that will help me to keep working and not just vegging out with the TV. I hope.

We continue the van adventures. I'll keep you updated.

Back to work as my second painkiller of the day begins its work.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, I'm always amazed at what Tony can do..has he had employment in these fields prior to working for you or with you? It will definately be better having a/c in a room that you can relax in.

Always interested as to what is happening with the van.

Verona, ON

Loved your story Judy!!! I am and have been since I was a small child fascinated by the moon. When I taught I always knew when it was a full moon. lol Some nights when there is a full moon I don't even need a light on to read in the bedroom.

Gardens are beginning to look nice. I bought a few more bedding plants when I was in town this morning. Bought 1 lowly tomato plant to enjoy - far cry from the over 70 plants I used to have. Found an outdoor set of chairs and table that I liked so Steve and I will go into town with his truck on Thurs after he finishes work and get them. The chairs swivel and rock and are very comfortable or so Steve says. lol He gave them the sit test!

Just raining lightly here right now but my the sky is dark and threatening looking. Don't you send on your rain Betty, please!

M how is the visit going with Lorna's parents? Did Lorna get sometime off to spend with them? I am sure they are as sweet and nice as Lorna is .... after all they raised her.

Ooops there is the T and L, think I will shut down. Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today folks.

So nice for you to have a new set Dianne, if skitters would stay away you could spend hours outside reading.

Just can't believe it's 79 outside, how is that possible, froze this morning. Sorry, had t and l this a.m. thought I sent it south but storms have a mind of their own.

mulege, Mexico

I now have TV and puter in my back bedroom. Tony does the work that involves climbing ladders (I will use the step ladder and go up about 7 feet but anything higher than that is his) while I will hook things up and drill holes and do whatever I can. I works out well, partly because I will do what I can and I always caution him to take his time and be sure he is safe in what he does. I know he likes it that I do what I can and don't just leave everything to him.

The company that can insure me for trips to the US can also sell me insurance for here in Mexico. Tony really wants to be sure this arrangement won't come back to bite him> I agree, that's one reason why all of this is taking so long. With the van in his name we need legal papers and insurance so I can drive it legally and he will not be held responsible should I have an accident.

Arthritis pain has been really bad today. It just sucks the energy out of me. While I was waking up and starting to move Max jumped up on me and licked my face. He seems to be very happy with this activity. I get such a kick out of him.

hugs, katie

Still working feverishly! Loved your story, Babe.

Who wants skitters, Lordy they are massive..was going to weed whack after I cut the grass ut nope, not going to be their pincushion.

Crazy, so muggy I put the air on.

Funny, new family that moved in has I would guess a young boy maybe 11, he asked if I would like the 2 ditches weed whacked, well of course I would but told him they are too wet..asked what he'd charge, he said he didn't know, explained to him when offering services he must have an idea what he wants for payment, shook his head and didn't know..

I told him to come Thursday as likely the rain will have stopped and ditches dried out and I'd pay him $5' thought this was more than generous as he told me he just did his ditch, wellhis done ditch looks like mine now so didn't do a good job but he is a kid trying to work, he said no I wouldn't take less than $10 so I told him I'd weeds hatband buy myself lunch with $$ I earned doing it..he looked tame in dismYlol

Rita is here, she is downstairs working on her diaper bag, says she is allocating an hour tonight then home to watch a movie..I have anotherbag1/2 done that I played with today, got it made up to the point whererita is and thought I'd work along with her but. I don't feel like sew ing so upstairs making supper, Rita says she is not hungry, perhaps after its made she will eat.

Joice are you growing weeds just so you have something to pick?
Meant to tell Judy that at the tea room they had a garden outside, all weeds to me but nature's flowers, just like she had , loved and had to remove, anyway it looked so pretty, as well hanging on the fence was a sign saying secret grade, just not so secret..tookphoto's but still don't have my camera back.

Amazed Katie how trusting Max has become, (mustknowhe has a great home) am sure you are still watchful though.is it very humid there? Noticed I'm not aching as badly since I've put on dehumidifier. Big responsibility putting vehicle in your name when someone else drives it..if you get insurance for Mexico and USA could you now put vehicle in your name? All very confusing, just different rules.

Glenview, IL

Roflol!!! Betty, what you dont like my beautious weeds! Forgive me while i turn crimson red!

Haha, you know i just weeded those "wildflowers" And just wait till you see whos been chowing!! Ima tellin ya it going to be on my table for dinner! So not cool...

Oh how sweet togeta new table and chairs Dianne. Sounds like you got a lot of work done too.
Meant tosay poor smokie, sure oh I mean blackie hope he is doing much better. Uep love to read in the garden so aI hope you get to enjoy a read.
Lol Since that moon Ive always seemed to be drawn to nature! Awe and i am really glad to hear you like to see the moon as well! For a while i did the gardening by the moon...lol it didnt work out that well cause I was pulling flowers and not weeds! Lol remember how I was telling you about the deer chillimg by my compost bin? Well I was chatting away with Linda kay and looked over to next yard...back in a sec with apicture for you.

hello
well i got over here. Cookie said if i didn't come over and chat she would beat me with a stick. :P
will catch up later
Betty the chimes you sent me are wondrful ! i love listening to them in the wind when i m gardening

Glenview, IL

Ohwah!! Hello Sue!! So glad you came over! Haha that Sunshine...I would not want to not listen but Im glad she gave you a thteat...Sure hope all is well with you. Lol are you shaking?

So he is the culprit just chilling out. This is my neighbors yard.

Aw sweet, don't let it near your Hostas,

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy you know it was said with love and affection..the natural garden in bloom was absolutely beautiful, can't wait to get my camera back so I can post a photo..

So glad you liked it Sue..how re the kids, out of school for the summer?

Drats Rita just left, said I was flushed, took blood pressure 3 times, 178/86/82

Most I did today was cut grass but used the rider, up and down stairs 6-7 times when Rita was here so nothing that should have raised it

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Not necessarily what you're doing that's raising it Betty. If not a lot better tomorrow, call your Dr.

im off to bed.
Kids are out of school. They have several activities. 4 H being our biggest projects. Savannah and her goats. Austin and his rabbits.
then their is me and my jams and jellies that i do...
well off to bed
good night sweet dreams

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Sue you keep those twins busy from morning to night, you must be exhausted when you go to bed. How is Jessica's memorial garden, imagine its welcoming now the plants/shrubs have taken. Have you been to see Joyce lately? What kind of mischief have you gotten into..still want Joyce to pack you up one long weekend and come visit..you did promise..lol

Sun is rising, should be a nice day in my neighborhood. Lordy the gardens are lush and green, everyday on my morning walk about I see more pretties opening up. Dianne goats beard has to be 10-12' high, seeing white blooms , imagine the will be fully open by the weekend. If I soon don't get my camera back I will miss showing you my peonies hanging over the pond.

No news yet from Darlene about her mom..over the weekend she said they were increasing morphine. And Mae is nothing but bones gasping for every breath. Having lost mike and her dad by aneurysms then watching her mom die every minute of the day not sure which is worse.

Mom called last night, think she is finally calming down, said she had spoken to mike and sharp on and ow me, she's been having breakdowns thinking of putting Jim IN the ground ..will plan a gathering in honour of him, my place, likely when I get back from my roadtrip.

Coffee is waiting

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Busy days, fall into bed at 9pm and up again at6am and go go go all day ..
The company is nice to have, but the running around is no fun at all
Lorna has Wed and Friday OFF, so, that'll be awesome :-)

Off to make todays lunch and make sure all is a GO for supper (steaks on the batbie)
Supposed to be in the 80s today.

Betty, did you not once say you had a kidney problem ? That can raise BP ..

Take care

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" how many days was Lorna able to get off while her parents are here..long days but enjoyable ones, memory days right.

Spend almost 1 year in a 2 years span, almost lost my life, had to do valve replacements but that was 40 years ago so should be giving me the what for..
only 152/86/82 last time I took it..will not take it until tonight.

Paul just dropped off his boat tarp, needs to be repaired, I do enjoy doing things for him, he's always been so good to me.

See where they are calling for some very unsettling weather later this afternoon IF the elements stay as they are..hope not in your or Dianne's region

Verona, ON

We really don't need anymore rain - the ground just can't take it. We are under a watch I think it is - I mix up warning/watch. It could be terrible or it might just pass over.

Bought a new fire/carbon dioxide alarm yesterday and it is driving the pups and I crazy. I think it might have finally settled down as I haven't heard a peep for a few hours. It was up about 4 hours when it went beep pause beep. Then it did it every hour for a few hours, then every 4. Wondering if the brand new batteries that came with it are not up to par.

Today is handyman's last day. Gotta admit he has got the place looking pretty spiffy. I told him I couldn't afford to pay him after today - I think he thought he was staying for the summer. lol

M I am so glad Lorna has a couple of days off to spend with her parents. Know you will all have a blast.

Going to try and go outside again - hope the skeeters have settled down. My goodness they are plentiful and huge. They must be particularly potent this year as each bite is really swelling up and is hot to the touch for 2 or 3 days afterwards. I haven't done that for a few years.

Enjoy your day ladies. Hoping you all get some time outside to play in the dirt.
Dianne

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, too much salt/sodium can raise your pressure also....watch what you eat, especially processed food.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Info on the new virus from the skeeters!

off to read your link LindaKay

good day to you all
Yep i m busy with kids most the time. been doing the single parent thing 24 yrs and i have 7 more to go :)
Jessica's garden is doing well. Things have taken off and some have died over winter.
good grief i live in skeeter pit .
hot and humid today for us in Ohio
i will be off and picking up Tom at the airport in Cincy/ KY LOL
hope i make it without getting lost :(

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, my fire alarm starts the beeping when batteries are low, could be the reason. I so have to go out and buy a carbon monoxide unit (?) for upstairs and downstair..keep saying I will then forget all about it..certainly one should have them.

Dianne, storm might be heading your way..t/l here and torrential downpour..so dark out there.
Glad I'm back from Fabricland, don't like the lightning shows..guess I'll start repairing Paul's boat top.

Going to have to slow down on fast foods Debbie, likely why the salt

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sue, don't you get lost, that's my trick..
hope you have photo's of Jessica's garden.

Humid here as well, wind just starting here..
