Yes, we sre moving back to Boston. DH retires oct. 6 and then we drive east. My stepsons were supposed to drive from DFW to Boston in the moving van. They can't agree on when to drive.

Ray says it's too hard to get me in and out of the moving truck so we can't do it. (We'll drive my car.) It's just hard to figure it all out. We may end up hiring others to do the hsrd part.

Ernie, he smells like a dog. I will take a kitten or two. LOL

2:20 am..............been on my feet all day at day 1 of our town's big 3 day deal. Still awake. Jeez, after all that you'd think I'd have dropped right off. Now am watching "In Search of Aliens" with the 2 new kittens.

Anna these are Goldens they don't stink much lol. James is a good boy he curles up on the foot of my bed if he is dry. Dry they don't stink. Wet gets them the back porch lol. I don't have any spare kittens but how about a couple of parakeets.

Can't sleep and nobody to yammer with......sigh.

Almost 4 am and I'm up. I have to be at work at 8am. I'm working part-time in the City Hall here in Somerset. I only work 18 hrs a week, but it gives me some extra money every 2 weeks and that is a big help. And with that extra money I am having a guy come over and cut down the weeds in my yard. My mower will not start and they got out of hand. Also he mows yards for a living. I'm thinking about having him put me on his mowing list. Depends on how much he charges.

Freshly mowed lawns are important, and hard to maintain unless you're a lawn crazy..We had a guy next door to us in Boston who gave his lawn a crew cut every couple of days. My husband would love to be able to mow our lawn but it's hilly and his back hurts him. Maybe we'll be able to get a lswn service when we get home.

Yes, DFW is Dallas-Fort Worth. We moved here 2 1/2 years ago, temporarily. Our grandchildren are here, some of them. They barely knew us in 2012. Hopefully they have seen enough of us now that when we go back to a few visits a year, they'll remember us. DH is now eligible to retire with flight benefits. .

I'm just curious. ...why do I spend 1-5 am awake every niight?

When people (usually nurses) ask me who my doctor is, i always have to ask which one ? Everyone's a specialist, My doctor didn't belive me, so i had to go to an endocrinologist to tell me officially that i was starting menopause. ... Every part of the body has its own specialist. For a colonoscopy, you go to a gastroenterologist, to a podiatrist and a plasric surgeon about my feet. .

Those dang doctors!

I've been working hard during the day sleeping just as hard at night. I had an extra cuppa joe late this evening so I'm awake. Better rectify that situation.

Good morning everyone! Well, I'm still working 18 hours a week at the city hall here in Somerset. I'm enjoying the work and the extra money. I had not planned on going back to work at my age, but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

I never want to have to work at work again. I want to just work around the yard on my time schedule.

Marti I am happy for you to have gotten the job. It will help around the holidays to have a pay check coming in.

Here it is almost 5 am and I'm up for the day. I can't sleep and the silly dog is trying to catch mice she hears in the walls of these old trailer. I've got to get some mice bait and try to get rid of them.
My neighbor from across the street came over and knocked down most of the weeds in my yard. Csting me $25. an hour but he has this big weedwacker with a metal blade and it will cut down anything in the yard esp the small trees trying to grow out there. Once he gets it knocked down that he will start mowing every other week for me. Thank goodness for the extra pay my working is bringing in.

Good morning, folks! We are at a motel near Salem, Virginia. The people next door have the TV on loudly. We were going to try to make it farther last night but we were tired and it was threatening to rain so we stopped early.

Hey there, carrie. It's 4 am and I'm setting here on the computer again. I have to due the flea market today and tomorrow, see if I can sell anything. I have a bunch of stuff from the storage that I need to get rid of and am trying to make a few dollars from it.

Good luck at the flea market, marti! A few bucks always comes in handy. I used to go to flea markets regularly and I've certainly bought stuff there.

It's interesting....your post made me think for a minute about buying and selling. My cousins (whom I'm visiting here in VA) have a roadside stand where they sell the vegetables they grow. Over the last 40 years they've sold things like milk, eggs, meat, or flowers, but it's always been something they produced.

My husband finds it embarrassing to sell your (his) things. He was the third of four boys and his parents never had much money. He hates hand-me-down clothes, for instance, and doesn't like giving stuff to goodwill or salvation army.

5 am and I'm up. It's raining and I hurt all over with my arthritis. I have to work this morning so wish I could get a couple more hours of sleep, but I don't thing it's going to happen.

Marti, how did the flea market go? We finished driving to Boston. It was pretty scary, the part where we got to our old house. Tha yard, garden, house are all overgrown with porcelain berry vine! Now we are back, ugh, lots to do.

carrie, the flea market went ok. I at least made booth rent. I'm going back this weekend and if I don't do better I'll pack my stuff and put it back in storage. At least it is getting me off my duff and out of the house for the weekend.

DC is out of town now, for most of the time, and without real contact. I got un-accustomed to living alone, now I feel a little crazy with nobody to talk to. And a wee bit overwhelmed.
...bulbs, mice, insulin pump quitting, leaks, new bookkeeper duties, unexpected more bulbs, 5 family birthdays, new pump arrived can't program it... But no cockroaches! And the sun will come up tomorrow. Probably about the time I manage to fall asleep!

I could write a book about miserable. Monday after the hawk in the shop episode I twisted my back a bit. Actually a bit to much. Today I went to the dr not my regular dr but a vascular surgeon. Asked her for a mussel relaxer she referred me to my primary care dr. I said he wasn't in the office this is Wednesday. She said someone in his office must be covering for him. I said been going to this guy for 35 years and never seen anyone covering for him.

Went over there yes I got the run around The scheduler was kind of rude and I wasn't going to sway her she said I could go to emergency sheesh . I get it take two aspirins and come back when you are well and feel good lol.

I go home get on the heating pad and as long as I hold still all is well. I tried to get up and slipped to the floor. Boy did that hurt now I started trying to get up no can do Charlie Brown. I tried several schemes to no avail Move the wheel chair closer move it further move it to the left no try the right. Then Linda gets an idea I will call 911 I say no. 10 minutes later she offers it again, NO sheesh, I am still on the floor. Now she threatens 911 again and I once more say no she tells me I can't lift you. I realize you can't lift me I can get up. After an hour on the floor I made it past the pain and got on the couch and from there I got up..

So here it is O dark thirty I have given in after two days of more than intense pain and taken a pain pill. Maybe that will at least mask the injury

Well, got some bad news from my son. It seems that his son, my grandson, got suspened from school for hitting other kids. Plus the school decided that their class structure is to loose for him and hat he should be in a more structured class, so starting Monday my grandson will be in a regular classroom in another school. My son is at his wits end trying to teach his son to behave. His wife does not believe in spanking, but my son says he's thinking about it. Nothing else has worked and the kid just gets worse in his misbehaving. Wish I could do more that just be a ear for him to talk to.

Made it to my doc for my back. News flash he has confirmed I twisted and strained my lower lumbar mussels and where they attach to the tail bone. I hope the hawk is in better shape but I fear for the little guy. Hitting the window was not good.

How are you feeling? What a sad story. My daughter had there wisdom teeth removed last Thursday, and she was on the emergency after- hours phone constantly. The dentist kept saying " it's SUPPOSED to hurt." Her follow-up appointment this week showed the removal site was badly infected and of course the surgery packing was removed. Oh my...

And people sleep with the TV on loudly in motels!

We made it home tonight about 9 pm! It may have been crazy/dumb to drive twice from dfw-boston, but it made us want to take more car trips! Hope everyone is well and sleeping soundly.
