Ronna, where I used to work, there's a janitor that sold the pop cans collected. Imagine a plant of three thousand workers. He managed to put a huge down payment towards his house with the profits. After that 'theft' was discovered, he was fired. But by then, his house was almost paid for. Then stations were set up just for the discarded cans. The CEO arranged for the aluminum sales to be used towards the annual employee fair..
That happened at one plant. The company had more than a dozen plants across the states. I wonder what happened to the other plants' pop cans before the discard stations were set up! Might be a few profiteers. Just our janitor was caught for he disclosed how he managed to put down thousands on a janitor's salary, and his wife was a stay at home mom.
Prayers go out to Ryan. May he heals fast. I'm sure you're a wreck till he's home convalescing Synda.
Good to know that Jess is released. Baby steps for him too, as to him regaining all his memory.
Sue, I've been on strike for a year now!!! Lolol!!!
Waving to all. Wishing all a perfect day!
Rm. 287 "Sweet Interruptions"
Morning everyone! Who has the coffee?
Will Dunkin Donuts coffee do, LK?
That's my favorite brand.
I got some croissants to go with that and a side of cream cheese spread.
That will work for me, thanks!
Daily routines in the house is getting to be a chore lately!! Pardon the pun!!
If only the cats know how to use a mop.
If I don't sweep 3 times a day, I'll be living in constant accumulated fur and dander.
Kel's fault!!
I hear ya, it is bad enough with just two dogs here. Blackie is the worse, as he has short hair, and it sticks to everything!
We don't have a couch anymore LK. No need to replace it either, as we don't have any visitors. I'd love to get a leather couch, but that means scratches!! So there!
Lola sheds too, as she's short haired, but it won't be as much as your Blackie!
Kel stays pretty much in the bedroom. Even for meals.
Not me, I love being around the cats, and imagine... he's the one responsible for so many!!
We were baking in the heat not long ago and the last few days have been in the 70's. Nice and cool. Going to have to try Dunkin Donuts coffee some day soon.
Setting Darwin up in hospice at home. Will request a hospital bed, much easier on all of us. Going to put it in the living room, get rid of the recliner and all the trash he has collected by the sides of it. I think he has been more confused before than just right now because I found outdated meds and even some that hadn't been opened. Can't believe what a hoarder he was (worse than I am). Taken me a long time to go through everything. The morphine is really causing weird things. Said we had a cockroach as big as my fist on the wall. Then there was a snake on the floor that he wanted me to squish. Finally I put my hand down there and he asked if it bit me. If these things had been there you would have heard me screaming all the way to Florida. Nurse will be out on Sunday to set everything up and tomorrow one of his daughters is coming in to see him. She has to drive a long ways but then she can see how he has gone down hill.
Pegi it is sad to hear Darwin is not doing well. My heart is bleeding for you. Sure wish I were closer to help you out.
Wow, Jaye now that is a whole lot of pop cans. We are a small hospital but still it all adds up....
LK how is the weather doing on your end of the USA. It is so beautiful today. Took the dog for a long walk and am going to meet a friend for a few drinks and some appitizer. Been a very long and hard two weeks at work. Am really to relax. Off tomorrow. Going with my mom to a huge green house hopefully. The DH is going to be working on our back porch with my dad so it would be a good day for us to go. Flats of flowers are only 4.99.
Hi all ............
Pegi my heart aches for you and Darwin :`( .Glad you are getting cooler weather ......but it stinks here cause so are we ,unbelievable that here the end of May and need long sleeves in the day and a jacket at night .
Ryan is home from surgery .Everything went well ,he isn't allowed to go to work until Tuesday and then light duty .He already appears to be getting black eyes and is in pain .So he he took a pain pill and went to bed ,has to sleep elevated to help stop the bleeding and to not have any chances of choking .At least that is what Rick told me as Ryan can't talk and sucks at charades ......LOL
Glad to hear surgery went well! Hope you have soft foods for him to eat!
It is warm here in Texas! 83, and cloudy. Humidity is 60%.
Been running errands most of the day...getting things we need to take to Sue's with us on Sunday. Finally got to see the cardiologist for a follow up on the stress/dye test I had in early March. I am good to go!!!! Problems I have been experiencing are stress related but atleast we know now and I do know there wasn't any sign of heart problems. Relief!!!!
We are in the 90s and hot, hot, hot!! It is way to early for temps like this. I can hardly wait until the downstairs a/c unit gets installed.
Glad to hear your ticker is working properly! Take care. How long will you be at Sue's?
Had a great evening. Met a friend for a couple drinks and some appitizers now looking on the internet. Off saturday. So glad.
We will be down only for 1 week........as suggested by her therapist. She is getting out and doing other things and they don't want her regressing. Actually have some "fun" trips planned. One place we are going is to Sarasota to Yoder's Amish restaurant. That, I am really looking forward to!!!
Enjoy your trip Marion.
Ronna, sounds like you had a good time. Enjoy your day off.
Pegi, here's my hugs!! Would send you some DD coffee but the post office won't allow liquids!!
I don't know that Darwin has a daughter. When was the last time she visited him? I hope the reunion is sweet for him.
I have this feeling that our Ronna here can sure throw down a party with all that drinking she likes to do! Kidding gal. It'a always good to meet with happy go lucky friends!
Amen, praise the Lord, you'll be with us for a long, long time Marion.
May this trip sees much improvement with Sue. Prayers still continue for her.
I've never had Amish food... must be a good place for non spicy eaters. Enjoy the week, Marion.
Jellos and milkshakes for Ryan. Well Synda, would he let you 'baby' him for a couple of days? Glad that he won't be needing diapers!! Lol!!
All the best for your recovery Ryan.
Jaye, it is actually the desserts I am looking forward to having.......they make the bestest, to die for chocolate and coconut pies! Not sure which I will ...maybe a slice of each.
Marion, I love, love, love coconut pies!!
My late Cajun MIL (ex) made the BESTEST coconut rolls and pies.
Don't stop at one slice, please eat extras for me!
Oh I will. Would ask Kim to eat extra but she doesn't like coconut. She is just one weird kid! :-)
I am actually looking forward to the day we spend in Sarasota.
Morning everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful week end.
Marion, enjoy those desserts!
Where is everyone?
Typed for 30 minutes and all gone.. cat stepped on the keyboard. Had to redo on WOrd, I'm here LK.. I think.
Yesterday was one hellish day for me sistahs.
From the moment Kel woke me yesterday morning at 6 up till 2 a.m when I finally went to bed, I had to put out little fires.
I swear if a cameraman were to follow me around for a reality show, he'd be demanding a raise!
Kel still is going through a men phase. But something must have happened at work that he decided to confront me when he got home. What?? Me that don't go anywhere, stuck at home and no real physical friends here not even with his cousins, wouldn't have the opportunity to express my concerns with anyone he's close to on certain personal things, Get this, he thought I must have spilled something in his friend or cousin's ears. He forgot that his Facebook page is open to all his added cousins and friends!!!!
For days now, I had this nagging doubts, so I decided to confront him in a neutral place. What better place than a Chinese restaurant where all who work there know us well. Moreover, I will be in control of my emotions, for when I scream or cry, I have already lost.
That went well... till after he left for work.
Checked his history page on his laptop, and what I had seen shocked me. No, he doesn't go to porn or sex rooms but he went to a page on how to confront past lost loves. Hmmmm.... let us say, I'll not ask him why, for if I had, he'd be deleting his history right? And I won't be for warned!!
Might be out of curiosity for him, the only saving grace for me is that it's not a site for how to get rid of your current mates!
Billie Jr., that latest injured rescue, was improving. But still refusing to eat regular food. She managed to bear some weight on that injured foot, but yesterday, I notice it was red and swollen. Besides giving her liquids through a syringe every 2 hours I then had to apply warm compress for a few minutes frequently until I don't see that bobo anymore. Oh yes, back to antibiotics, since Billie's amoxyllin all gone.., I had to crush some Cipro for her.
Last night, Dallas (the oldest) had some kind of 'accident' when he was struggling in the dump!! Yes, picked him up and was forced to give this 7 pound kitty a bath!! Wanna see my battle scars.
If that's not enough, my blind cat Possum who somewhat managed to find a higher place couldn't get down!! Now why this blind cat think he needs to hide???
Mama had to find means to get him down, thankfully, that perch was just at the tip of my raised hands!!!!! Talk about an unhappy cat when I pulled his tail to force him to fall!! Cats land on all fours, don't worry, he's not hurt.
Billie sleeps on a pillow with fresh rags that I cut out of old jeans or flannels. When soiled, I just throw them away. Time for new ones, and I decided instead of just using scissors, let me use my rotary cutter and that extra big cutting mat which is kept standing up between the pc table and the fridge.
Pulled it out, did the cutting, left the cut rags on the kitchen table and when trying to return the mat to it's place, lo and behold, I couldn't get that back in!!
Back at the end of the table, there were some 'trash' lodged. Can't be moved by a 'grapper', so I had to kneel and struggled with pain, removing.. get this sistahs... an empty box of WM frozen hotdogs, pink lemonade box and Mickey D's apple pie wrappings!! Kel's responsible for that for only he is tall enough to put those on top of the fridge!! So, they may have fallen when one of the cats decided to go up there!!
This that and others were just too much for a day and a half.
There was only one comic relief.
When I got through with the mat, the rag that I wanted to use for Billie's pillow was gone!! Goldie, this 3 pound cretin was taking off with it. She looks like Linus and his blankie!!
Through all these, though I don't have the time for DG nor FB, I managed to squeeze in a call to sistah Judy. Thought I could talk longer until I saw MuffinMan trying to eat my supper!!!
Would anyone blame me for finishing off another bottle of Cabernet at 2 a.m?
I think I'm okay today... oh.. didn't get a chance to tend to the gardens yesterday.
Anyway, have a wonderful Memorial Day tomorrow sistahs.
Kel's off tomorrow, think I'll plan a weeding for him.....
Sorry to hear he is giving you so much grief Jaye! ((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))
I agree if there were a camera, that would be a great show, but I know everyone watching would be cheering for you!
Thank you so much LK!!! I am sure all my sistahs will enjoy the laughs looking at Super Cat Mama having a hair raising day!!!
That was a day I could drink up all my reserve Cabernets.
May this be just a stupid thing that all men go through, even us women. When I compare him to my ex.. at least Kel doesn't drink nor smoke nor have hundreds of men friends that demand his time. But yet, the internet is a dangerous place to be when you're insecure.
I'll be alright. I kept praying for Kel to return to the Lord. He's been avoiding Jesus for 2 years now.. eversince his ex wife decided to join our church.
He refused to find another church nor pick up spiritual books like he used to.
God will fix his mind. I can bet on that!!!
Got to watch those ex's, they can be so conniving!
This one is, LK. She misses that extra cash, I know.
She's been messaging him in private, and Kel's respond with a yes or a no.
Then not satisfied with that, she 'flirted' openly on FB, bringing up the past.
Well of course, that left me open for comments right? Which I did, and Kel deleted her posts!!
I know she has his phone number, and matter of fact, Ida do talk to her and her daughter.
Perhaps the Lord will send her a man.
There are actually two women that flirt with him. The other's from this town too! Boy, he's mighty popular now in Tabor.
I'll be honest here, being the only Asian in town, I feel the looks some women give to me when I'm with Kel. Like he's a home boy, and why must he get someone from somewhere!
Duuuh... look at the brainless sluts offered in town.. don't you blame him?? Lolol!!!
Thanks for reading. Feel good when you're not alone in your paranoia!!
They should be ashamed of themselves for doing what they are doing, especially when it is where you can read it!
Thank you very much for your support LK. You don't know how much I appreciate it.
No problem. Your always here for us.
Something reallllllyyy funny just happened!
A knock on the door around 8, and there was Kel saying he locked his keys in the truck. Needed to get my keys so he could retrieve his stuff. He had to borrow the prison's truck to me.
My purse in always in the living room. He knows that, and instead of going to the living room he walked straight to the bedroom, pushed the door open and stared at the open laptop!!
Oh yes, he was trying to catch me I guess.. yep... he caught me playing Mahjong!!!
Handed him the keys keeping a straight face till he leaves the house.
See, it's not too long ago that he had locked his keys, and I know he'd make sure not to do that again.
This is just too close to be a coincidence!!
He thought I'd be doing something foolish like mistrusting him and checking on his pc stuff!!
So happened, I decided to play Mahjong till Billie needs feeding again. God is good!
Big smiles here. I had told him before that I'm very dangerous when I'm angry.
Think he believes that now. Good that he's starting to worry.
Everyone stay tune for the As the Stomach Turns In Tabor City! Promise you the stink isn't that bad... and I do pray he will return to Jesus.
Have a great Memorial Monday Sistahs.
We're always here for you Jaye, Men sure are skunks sometimes.
Thank you, thank you Karen.
This too shall pass, but for now, I just want to slap that bald head and cut his innards!!!
ROFL!!
Pegi, if you're lurking I hope I've given you some comic relief! Yep, my Prince Charming just turned into an ugly toad!!
Yes, Jaye, I'm lurking. Needed some comic relief. Today the hospice nurse came (she was such a sweetheart) and signed Darwin up for hospice. So many things (my clutter) she noticed and loved. I gave her a pretty plate with fruit on it and she said they aren't suppose to take any gifts. I just told her I wouldn't tell. Pretty plate, but I just keep moving it around and dusting the dirt off. She spent 3 hours here and all the paper work just overwhelmed me. Darwin was dressed and going to come out and sit in his chair, but when the time came he said he couldn't get out of bed. She came in and explained hospice and he seemed OK with what she said and even interested in a hospital bed. To begin with I will have a nurse come out once a week and I hope it is her. We got the constipation issue over with, but still want him to take laxatives. His daughters came to see him on Saturday and I know that is just what he needed. Brought his youngest great grandson up too, Jeffery is 17 months old and this is our first time seeing him. He really had a good day. Now, I am tempting him to eat something, but so far not doing a good job. I need time for computing and time for reading. Will find some time for my plants, think one of my plumeria is getting an inflo.
Oh Pegi, I wish you a million smiles from this day onwards. May God gives you small distractions from that worries that will drain you and may He makes Darwin's days, painless.
It pleases me to know that it was a good visit and that they brought along his great grandson. Hope and pray it won't be the last visit, as nothing like knowing your family loves you all along.
Be selfish with your me time. If you're not recharged, you won't be of much help to Darwin.
Go enjoy the blooms and your books and if only you could do a thrift store run now and then,
My MIL had plenty of help, the hospice nurse and Kel. She'd take off to town shopping for hours, and only the evenings she won't go anywhere. Kel too had learned Murdock's medicine schedule.
Oh she'd be around when Hospice nurse shows up and get terribly upset if she's late.
She'd be for the "show" at the doctors.. yes Kel had to be the chauffer and wheel the dad in and out.
She didn't have to cook, it's take out food everyday till months after Murdock died.
Yet she complained of no "Me Time"!!
Got more comic relief here.
I had posted pictures of Murdock on Kel's FB page and there were some nice comments made from LK and Synda. Thank you for your support.
On one of the pictures, his ex wife posted that she loves Murdock.
I don't know LK whether you've seen it, (Patty Stevens) so I wrote a glorious picture of what Murdock was like.
Then Synda, remembering that Murdock had asked me to come down, knowing his days were at the end... commented she thanked the Lord he did so.
Hours later, poof, Patty's comment was removed!!!
Apparently she didn't like it!! Too bad, Murdock didn't ask for her.
So.. that's "As the Stomach Turns" for this morning!!
Gonna do pork ribs, chicken breasts and sides of instant beans and mashed potatoes.
That's our Memorial Day feast.
Weeding will have to wait, the heat will be close to 90 and I need Kel to rest today so he can work tomorrow!!
Great day for staying in then!
good morning, and may I remind you, GOD does not like ugly

Jaye, I still say Kel just needs a swift kick! Don't know what is going through that mans head!
Will be waiting for the next episode of "As the Stomach Turns".
Pegi, I hope you can get Darwin to eat something too! Glad to hear the nurses are coming in to give you help, and please don't be afraid to call if you need them more often! Sending lots of prayers and ((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) your way!
Sounds like you have been busy Kathy! Don't over do it.
No grilling here this week end, we have had rain all week end, and I am not complaining, we needed the rain badly. It is only 67 right now and supposed to reach 85 this afternoon!
